The Emotional Rollercoaster!!!
Okay so I want to start off by say this... This show gave me Emotional Trauma in literally the best way possible. It's 100% honestly one of, if not THE BEST Kdramas I have ever watched in all my life. The show held my attention so well, the emotions were on point, the acting was suburb and the story was just endless excitement for me. I've never cried so many times watching a show in my life, some part made my chest feel so tight and so many times I was just left with my mouth hanging wide open... ohhh my goddd!! 10 out of 10..like this show was just perfect to me. It's amazing that I just finished it and I want to rewatch it again... I literally never wanted it to end. I fully recommend this show to just about anyone.. it had a little bit of everything. Comedy, thrills, some spooky bits, romance and even just that good old fashion relationship drama that makes you want to just cry your eyes out. Ah I'm sad it's over... it was just an amazing show, just amazing. I will be rewatching this in the future for sureWas this review helpful to you?
PERFECT SHOW you should watch it 100%
After watching dramas for quite a long time, I can say that to me there's a lot of good shows but few that I can confidently say perfect. And that's why, this is the first drama that I'm re-watching.You will be addicted from the first episode and it manages to keep the quality the whole run. Looking at the tags, seeing trauma and mental illness you might think it's going to be overly dramatic and at time hard to watch, but you will be surprised, since the plot is actually very funny and wholesome. There are so many questions and motive that you will start guessing from the episode one, be it from main character or side characters. Even small characters have such strong personalities that you can't just ignore them, from the quirky doctor at the hospital to lovable couple of patients. The lead couple hold a interesting relationship, the ML despite being a "good" person, is broken and lives a very limited life, because of that he starts to be moved by the FL, who is after him from the first moment they met.
ANOTHER STRONG POINT. THE. OST. IS AMAZING!! I have it saved and whenever it comes up, I get the feeling I need to re-watch the whole show...
(somewhat SPOILER)
This is not to degrade the show but some of the situation cause by the characters with mental illness were a bit hard to watch again, not sure if its a good or bad thing (example: I was hoping his brother would act differently sometimes because I knew he was causing a problem that would be solved soon, so it felt like a bit of a waste of time( BUT THATS ON ME 100%))
deer jokes never got old!

A BEAUTY AND A BEAST
This is one of the few dramas im the korean media where you can say the female lead ate up every single character like a breeze this was a very very long overdue change of pace long have we grown tired of the idiot shy poor unconfident female leads we are used too. This drama has managed to create a female lead with an actual personality while highlighting mental problems very effectively. It's Ok not to be Okay may just be one of the most well wrotten dramas of all time every single charcter had their own story their own personality the acting in this show is worth Oscars of Oscars everybody demolished this. The show follows people who are different than our used to characters we see on our screens just a masterpiece and this kight be kim soo hyuns last good role he might ever get in his entire careerWas this review helpful to you?

Really really loved it
This is a completely different series compared to the ones I usually watch, but I'm so glad I finally decided to watch it. At first, I had some doubts about it, and after the first episode, I stopped halfway through, but I still felt like I wanted to continue watching it, and I'm really glad I did.Personally, nothing similar has happened to me or to people in the story, but I believe that if someone can relate, it might resonate even more with them than it did with me. This drama was heartfelt, instructive, funny, and very beautiful. Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Yea Ji are extremely beautiful people, and they fit so well together. Oh Jung Se played his role just wonderfully, that seeing him as himself in the end was almost weird to watch. I really liked the dynamics between Moon Kang Tae, Go Mun Young, and Moon Sang Tae, especially towards the end, but also the relationship between Kang Tae and Mun Young. I also liked all the hospital patients and staff (except for the bad ones), and I liked seeing that everyone is human and doesn't need to be treated differently. I knew that before, of course, but it was nice to see it in the series. Also, the stories of each patient and the main characters, and their childhoods - they really made me think about real life and how many different people and stories everyone has, and at the same time, how strong they are.
I also really liked the series visually, how one of the patients had a memory on the bus and how it was put together, as well as all the transitions from one place to another, etc.
I really wish these books were real and available in my country, and that more of them would come out.
The story was really beautiful, and I believe there may be those who may not like such a series, but I recommend giving it a chance.

A Masterpiece in K-Drama Storytelling"
"It's Okay to Not Be Okay" stands as a pinnacle in the realm of Korean drama, earning my enthusiastic rating of 100/10. From its inception, the series intricately weaves a tapestry of emotions and storytelling that captivates the audience with unprecedented brilliance. The characters, portrayed with finesse, undergo profound development, drawing viewers into their intricate lives. What sets this drama apart is its unflinching exploration of mental health issues, handled with a rare sensitivity and authenticity. The narrative unfolds like a well-crafted novel, each episode adding layers to the overarching theme. The chemistry between the lead characters is not just romantic but an emotional anchor that elevates the entire viewing experience. The cinematography and soundtrack seamlessly complement the storytelling, creating an immersive atmosphere that lingers even after the screen fades to black.
Beyond mere entertainment, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" becomes a guide through the labyrinth of human emotions. It dismantles societal taboos surrounding mental health, fostering empathy and understanding. The series serves as a testament to the power of storytelling in raising awareness and challenging preconceptions.
In a landscape saturated with dramas, this masterpiece shines brightly, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to embark on its emotional journey. To rate it anything less than a perfect 10 would be an injustice to the exceptional craftsmanship and emotional resonance it brings. Unlocking Mental Marvels
"It's Okay to Not Be Okay" captivated my senses like a mesmerizing spell. This K-drama ingeniously dances between dark psychological depths and heartwarming hilarity. Its magnetic pull lies in the enchanting chemistry between Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun) and Go Moon-young (Seo Ye-ji), whose eccentricities stitch together a tapestry of emotions. The narrative is a bold plunge into mental health complexities, wrapping them in a cloak of whimsical storytelling. From laugh-out-loud therapy sessions to poignant moments of self-discovery, the show paints an evocative canvas of human fragility and resilience. The artful blend of fantasy and reality adds a surreal touch, mirroring the labyrinthine corridors of the mind.
While the journey is near-magical, a tad more brisk pacing could have kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Yet, this minor hitch barely dims the brilliance. With its kaleidoscope of emotions, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" is a riveting exploration of inner battles, graced with performances that evoke hearty laughs and heartfelt tears. It's a heartful reminder that even amidst chaos, laughter can be the best medicine for the soul.

A nearly perfect drama for me
Ko Mun-young is a children's book author with a personality disorder. Moon Gang-tae cares for his autistic brother selflessly but also with guilt. Moon Sang-tae is not only autistic but also witnessed his mother's murder. All three suffered emotional wounds in childhood that left scars. But their (re)encounter starts a process of mutual healing. That sounds pathetic, but the story is anything but; it's a perfect blend of drama, romance, suspense, and humor. It's told in images that are at times disturbing and at times poetic. The included stories from the children's books, in particular, make the series something special, one I won't soon forget.
The unique story about mental health, the development of the characters, the visuals and of course the emotional acting of the three main leads makes it a nearly perfect drama for me.

Such a masterpiece.! It's Okay To Not Be Okay is more than just drama. It's A Life lesson.
The Acting, writing, music, screenplay, plot, the use of fairy tale metaphors, the chemistry between the actors, everything is just on another Level.A dark, whimsical but heartwarming drama, it follows a trio of characters.
Ko Muen Young is a children’s book author with antisocial personality disorder. She meets Moon Gang Tae who is a nurse working with psychiatric patients. Moon Gang Tae has an autistic brother, Sang Gang Tae who is a massive fan of Ko’s books.
The drama follows them as they become entangled in each others’ lives and grapple with the demons of their past.
Some dramas hook you immediately. Others, you tentatively tread the murky waters until it sucks you underneath. This one intrigued me right away with its opening scene. It opens up with animated illustrations very reminiscient of the whimisically dark tones of Tim Burton that sets the frame for the rest of the show’s themes surrounding mental health.
The drama deals with heavy themes, including mental illness and childhood trauma, but also centers on the healing of emotional wounds through relationships, making it a potentially rewarding but emotionally challenging.

I sobbed
This was the first drama I ever gave a 10/10 too! I recommend it to everyone I know! The acting from everyone, especially Oh Jung-Se, was outstanding! They tackled mental health and autism really well, which is something that is not always done. I love the story that gets built between the main two as well. Cannot recommend this enough! This will have you on such an emotional roller-coaster. in the best way!Was this review helpful to you?
