Barely Any Annoying Cliches
The lead couple were kind of bland after a while, it was good to watch them get together in the first 10 episodes, after than it became too boring. They were both good together and good to each other, so a green flag couple. The second couple was much more interesting however Shu Wen Bo was so damn insecure that he made Ruan Qing Xia cry so many times. This is a perfect example of asking people what they want instead of just making a decision for them.
The third couple, ML's sister and Dr Shao were pretty good together as well. Glad that they got the second chance.

Seeing BAI JINGTING grow is de best thing ever !!!
U R My Hero is a 40-epi cdrama dat mixes high-stakes, action-packed situations wid a very sweet first-love romance. I was so eager 2 watch de pairing of Bai Jingting & Ma Sichun as dey are my all time favs. DIS PAIRING WAS JUST FIREEE..... I have known Bai (frm Whirlwind girl) & Sandra (frm Love me if you dare) 4 a long time as of now, they matched extremely well and had great chemistry. Jingting pulled off the as the best CHARISMATIC ML & now I feel much like a mom seeing her son grow.NOTE : Many said it was so much like DOTS, but it isn't ...it has its own slow burn romance of POLICE +DOCTOR romance!!
P.S Special mention 2 the solid secondary romance ( COMPLETELY ADORED XIA XIA DRESSING STYLE), OST.
Available on Viki and YouTube with English subtitles.

A True Romance Story
Hmmm.... how am I just finding out about this masterpiece. Finished watching🔥 40 episodes and wanting More 🔥🤗 right from the first episode I loved mi ka. The way she cried at that opening scene... was so heartfelt. That's when I knew this drama had potentials and it didn't disappoint. Every episodes was 🔥🔥🔥 the chemistry between the leads was 🔥🤗 like their comunicatons, the way they trust and open up with each other. Esp Mi ka, the way she completely trust ke lei. Even when he thinks she might be jealous or mad at him she just reasures him that she's okay and is not mad. 😤😤 that's true love there. when those two troublemakers came( his formal Captain's daughters) she was so composed. she understood everything. Ahh🤗 she won my heart honestly ♥️ I remember the scene where they were explaining love to wen bo and he would do the opposite she just burst into laughter 😂😂😂😂😂 omg she was fun to watch. 1000/10 🔥 Best Cdrama i'v seen in a long time. 40 episodes and wanting more ... that's really something 🔥🔥🔥💯. please I need more recommendations like this 🙏🙏🙏Was this review helpful to you?

A romance that feels real and earned!
"You Are My Hero" is hands down one of the best Chinese dramas I've ever watched. It's not everyone's cup of tea—it’s a slow burn—but that’s exactly what made me fall in love with it. I enjoy stories that take their time, and this one did it so well. The character development, the pacing, the way the relationship unfolded—it all felt so real.Bai Jingting really stood out for me. A lot of people knew him from The First Frost, where he plays a more handsome and charming guy. But in You Are My Hero, he brings a quiet strength and masculinity that felt really natural. This was actually the first drama I saw him in, and it left a strong impression.
Even with 40 episodes, I never felt bored. Their first meeting was honestly one of the best I’ve seen—it hooked me right away. And while there weren’t many physical romantic scenes (maybe four or five kisses in total), the emotional connection between them was so strong, you didn’t need more to feel the love.
What really surprised me was how invested I became in their work lives. Normally, I’d skip through hospital or workplace scenes, but not here. The operations, especially the neurosurgery ones, were intense and beautifully shot—I found myself holding my breath, fully caught up in whether the patient would make it. The police operation scenes were just as gripping.
Another thing I loved was how realistic the relationship felt. Even after they got together, they barely had time for each other because of work, but they made it work. They cherished the little moments—sharing meals, cooking together, simple dates. And when conflict came up, they handled it like adults. There was only one real misunderstanding, and instead of dragging it out , they both took responsibility. In a world where saying sorry can feel like a hit to your ego, it was refreshing to see both of them apologize, even when one was not at the fault. Their trust in each other was so solid that even when a third person was introduced near the end, it didn’t shake them.
The side couples’ stories were also strong—though the second male lead might get on your nerves a bit. Still, their arcs were meaningful and well-written. And just when I thought the story was going to wind down quietly, the final episodes brought some emotional twists that really got to me. I even teared up, thinking it might end on a sad note—but don’t worry, it has a very happy ending.
If I had to point out one small con, it would be the female lead’s hairstyle—but honestly, it makes sense given her profession. Sandra Ma did a great job. Her portrayal of a smart, kind-hearted doctor felt so real. And it was nice to see a female lead without heavy makeup for once—her natural look suited both the role and the story.
Overall, You Are My Hero is one of the most emotionally satisfying and mature love stories I’ve seen in a drama. It’s heartfelt, well-paced, and just beautifully done. Highly recommend it if you’re into realistic romance and character-driven stories.

… if you don’t have. High expectations on the romance part
A bit disappointed though. It starts great and then lets down in the end in terms of fulfilling romance between the main leads, who are never seen properly cuddling and kissing after they officially start dating, …. which hardly makes sense: the FL, a doctor, is always seen shying away and pushing away the ML… to a point when I wondered why they want to get married in the end…too bad because the ML is great as usual ( reset, new life begins…)Serious flaws for me: The FL is too much of a cry baby, and the worst part: during 38 episodes, she’s having her short hair tied up in a messy and dirty-greasy bun with ugly pins and a crown of shaved hair (they say it themselves - her colleagues and friends making fun of her in a nice way, because she’s allegedly too busy to properly take care of herself - she doesn’t see the point of grooming even a little bit her appearance), not to mention the worst wardrobe ever seen in a drama, which doesn’t serve her and is rather unpleasant to watch ( it’s part of the storyline and the ML is supposed to be blinded by his love for her inside beauty and not care about her neglected appearance paired with never cleaned flat) her friend told her toward the end that her boyfriend is going to be willing to move to the next step, and she should dress up more femininely… and the result is a joke. Not to mention that we are not spared the mid clad socks on parachute skirts during the majority of the drama.. Really? Seriously?…
this appreciation may be shallow but what the point of showing that in a romance drama? It is a question of respect for yourself, your colleagues and boyfriend to take a minimum care of yourself…Even in true beauty, they didn’t dare do that.
it is again really to bad because the storyline is really a good one, especially the SWAT focusing part, very interesting. Only, I couldn’t believe and root for the Main couple after the 20th ep…
A commander in the SWAT is expected to be assertive., which he is clearly not in his relationship with the FL. Also, i am surprised that his tidiness can accept such a level of neglect in the FL, from her appearance, to eating habit and lack of care of her habitat, which she transforms in dumpster by lack of cleaning and elementary hygiene,( gross and not funny at all), not compatible in my opinion with being a doctor. Scary even. Voila

SO GOOD
Please I loved this drama so much!!! I don’t know from where to start but future viewers can be reassured that there is no cringe worthy scenes, cliches, unnecessary drama or conflicts, breakups, literally none of them happens in this drama. Drama mainly focuses on main leads’ dynamic careers and their love life + 2 other couples. Scenes of them where they are doing their jobs were really good to watch and their relationship is so sweet! Unlike some other dramas both of them invest in their relationship equally instead of having one side pushing constantly. Another likable thing I observed about Mi Ka and Xing Kelei relationship is that in other dramas you constantly see intimate scenes(which is not a bad thing but when it’s too much it gets annoying) whereas in this one they gave more importance to their sweet words for each other and how one of them values the other one. When something happens to one of them, the way the other one worries really shattered my heart into pieces coz that’s what I usually look for in couple in dramas -how much one cares for the other one. Acting from whole cast is so so good! And last but not least, Xing Kelei is the hottest and most charismatic ML I have ever seen in an Asian drama! I want to start another cdrama but can’t move on from his charisma that I think I won’t have fun watching other MLs lolWas this review helpful to you?
Wholesome, Beautiful, Emotional
What a show, beautifully done. No third parties or green teas. Just hardwork and beautiful love. The actors did a great job.I love that they showcased the hardwork and the working conditions of doctors and police officers and that it's all hardwork. This makes us appreciate the people who do those jobs more.
Well done to the writer 👏

Best show with great rewatch value
This is the best show to watch for script, music, cast, acting and art direction. A must watch for those who love romantic comedy, and great music. There are main plots and subplots which makes 40 episodes easy to watch even though it seems overwhelming to imagine how you would finish 40 if at all. Each character also has sufficient depth explored and developed so you feel like each actor had a chance to show their best in this series. There is wittiness in the characters and the funny moments make it fun. Watch the original channels that host it if you dont understand the language else the translation may not be as good. Was this review helpful to you?
Good show but not enough suspense
This was a good show but on the episode when he found out she was going abroad I felt he should have broken up with her instead of being the stand-by guy waiting for her to return. If they would have broken up it would have made the last three episodes very interesting to see how she wins his heart again. Why can't they ever make these characters get angry, mad, and hurt when they find out from someone else their girlfriend is going abroad? Are all Asian men really that easy-going and pushovers? Was this review helpful to you?
Missing of chemistry between the main leads
The story and the acting is really good. This really shows how much communication and honesty is important in an relationship to avoid any misunderstanding or problems. Also showcase the professional working environment and struggles faced because of their jobs based on reality. When the leads work together for their mission or job its really good but during their private interactions there's no spark or chemistry between them it sometimes felt like they are siblings or they have close friends for a long time there's no compatability between them the romance felt like it was either faked or forced to do and they were like supporting leads instead of male leads. The chemistry between xia and shuwenbo was not really High but compared to main leads it's alright even shao and keyao was fine. Was this review helpful to you?

Cute and realistic romantic comedy
Storyline:It was refreshing to watch a drama that just followed the natural progression of a relationship without inserting unnecessary villains trying to break them apart and having the main couple dealing with unspoken misunderstandings. It's a cute and realistic romantic comedy about a normal couple that are wholeheartedly in love and devoted to each other but navigate through the challenges of maintaining a relationship due to the nature of their demanding careers as a SWAT officer and a ER doctor/Neuro surgeon.
Characters/Acting:
- Main couple were cute and had good chemistry. What I liked most about their relationship is their open honesty with each other rather than letting misunderstandings or conniving people (those annoying sisters) get in between them like you see in most cdrama relationships.
- ML (Xing Ke Lei) I had an hard time seeing him as Mr. Tough Guy because he has such a young baby face. And I still see that actor in his quiet, naïve role in Rise of the Phoenixes. But his acting was good. It was so endearing how much he loved Mi Ka and always looked out for her.
- FL (Mi Ka) This is the 2nd series I saw her in (she was in Mr. Fighting w/ Allen Deng). She's a good actress. She always manages to come across as wholesome, sweet and genuine with a little spunk. She's very likable.
- Support couple (Wenbo and Xiao Xia) - cute progression of their relationship, particularly Wenbo who was utterly clueless when it comes to women and love but so honest.
- Xing Ke Yao - ML's older sister. She was one of my favorite characters. In the beginning you expect her to be a cold and controlling sister/character. But underneath that hard exterior she's such a loving, honest and nurturing person. I love the witty banter and relationship she has with her brother Xing Ke Lei.
Music:
- Decent. The upbeat song went well with the happy scenes.
Rewatch Value:
- Overall I enjoyed the show but not enough to re-watch it.
