Too dragged on
It would've been perfect if the story ended at 28-30 episodes (even less), but they continued to dragg the story one's illness then the other one's illness, then the jealousy plot. It never ending. I kept on skipping until the end just because i wanted to know if somehow they would've make the story interesting again but to my upmost disappointment the spark was long gone. For the acting : the ML is perfect i love that actor, but the FL had no romantic feel in her acting. When she's in the medical aspect of the story she's really good but all the fluffy stuff was not it. He's like all hearts in the eyes and all and she's like a wall eyes empty. But whatever, i don't recommend it if you want a fluffy story but if you want a little of action and a little of romance then it's perfect.

the drama that makes you feel single
*screaming intenselyXing Ke Lei!!!! Mi Ka!!!!! why are you both so cute?!!!!!
I understand if people say it's the chinese ver. of DOTS but I assure you even though that it has some similarities this drama it's more engaging and thrilling than DOTS! I've watched DOTS but hands down this is better than DOTS. Besides this novel came before DOTS so you can't say this drama copied or a remake of DOTS OK?!
[PLOT]
Two people of the same mind and hearts that finds each other but sometimes separated because the important of their job in saving other people life's.
[CHARACTERS]
Mi Ka a brave young doctor who just wants to saved all life and thinks everybody's equal to be saved.
Finally folks we have a matured FL in a modern cdrama!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
For me Mi Ka is the best FL I've ever seen(✯ᴗ✯) she's not the clingy type, not annoying, not easily be bullied, not the jealous type either. She has clear mind and very independent but sometimes naive and with a dash of innocent in her but it's all cute cause that's what makes her the best FL!😍
Her boldness and bravery are well written in this drama and I tip my hat to you ms.writer👒
Xing Ke Lei the demon like captain that's very strict with his subordinates but a cute spoiled boy in front if Mi Ka(~ ̄³ ̄)~
salute to Bai Jing Ting on taking this role and completely changed his body to suit the character as a captain of the Tiger Assault Team.
Xing Ke Lei's characters is such a cinnamon roll but when he's serious the tiger inside him will unleash and you better pray you don't get to be his prey.
Mi Ka and Xing Ke Lei has such a healthy relationships and that's why I loved about this drama! Sandra Ma and Bai Jing Ting has such an awesome chemistry that they make me feel single🙃
I loved the other couples as well as the leads and everyone's relationships in here was so good! From Mi Ka's college friend Yan Shan that did her wrong to Xing Ke Lei's teams support on his problems.
[OST]
The ost in here is beautiful, the lyrics really tells about them and that's one of the best things about this drama.
[CONCLUSIONS]
Your my hero is a drama that you want to watch because of their chemistry on screen that makes you feel single through out the drama and the thrilling events between the leads that you can't stay still in your seats.Would totally recommend people to watch this because of the chemistry they gave us.

Mi Ka and Xing Kelei are both independent, brave, and driven people who love their careers, and they support and respect each other. They both lacked relationship experience and navigated obstacles together. It was a little dramatic that they faced so many intense, life-threatening situations, but I expected it.
I rated this lower because I didn't love the development of the second couple. They spent so much time in a frustrating situation that I lost interest in them completely. On the other hand, I wish there'd been more screen time for the third couple! I liked the contrast of their relationship because they're older and more mature. Aside from the couples, I loved the friendship between Mi Ka and Xiao Xia, and Xing Kelei and his team (Li Nian in particular had some hilarious moments). I also loved Xing Kelei and his sister! Xing Keyao is such a great character. This was a really enjoyable drama to watch and I eagerly awaited new episodes every day without losing interest. I do think the last two episodes were underwhelming and overwritten though.
P.S. I loved the OST, especially the ending song.

Cute Leads, Amazing Cast, Not-so-original Plot
Straight of the bat, I need to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much depth we got out of the second lead and other secondary stories. I mean, the focus was not forced on the lead couple so much so that I got to really enjoy other plotlines. I had enough of second and third lead couples to have loved their characters. Which was so smart of the producers, otherwise this would have been a very looooong story. But therein lies my main problem with this drama. There was very little of the main leads' growth and depth or even a suspenseful plot to have sustained an entire 40-episode drama. The plot got draggy and boring with arches that were stretched out for no good reason. The side story about the Shen sisters is a prime example, other than gap-filling, what was that?! The earthquake arch was also really long, I just skimmed through it. I almost felt like I was watching a remake of DOTS with storylines also from My Little Happiness.
Still, the main leads were a joy to watch. I love nice leads, they just make me so happy! And these 2 were incredibly sweet. Bai Jing Ting, hats off for some great acting. I didn't notice the age gap and actually appreciated that he pulled off the tough guy Special Policeman really really well. I loved Sandra Ma's character Dr Mi Ka - really inspiring. Here is a thought to the producers - did you know that a woman can be both brilliant at her job and actually also look good. What was she wearing?!
Anyway, I didn't think this one lived up to my expectations.

Medical + military + slice of life = romance drama all in one
While the synopsis of You Are My Hero caught my attention, the length stopped me from starting it. Fear not though, the writers keep your attention from the beginning all the way to ep 40 through events such as earthquakes, toxic workplaces (in the hospital), cute secondary couples, and more. I really loved this drama and recommend it for contemporary drama watchers!PROS
❀ Lovable leads and couples that you want to root for | While the three main couples (there are four, but the other one is much more minor) have different backgrounds, you want to root for all the characters to get together and find their happiness! The themes of each couple go like this:
1. Mi Ka x Xing Ke Lei: Throughout the series they take turns saving each other, as one is a doctor and one is in the special police force. I love this balance! While their romance wasn't steamy, it was sweet all the same. Both of them are in their first relationships as well, so except a lot of blushing and not knowing what to do when it comes to relationships.
2. Ruan Qing Xia x Shu Wen Bo | City girl/popular reporter meets country himbo who's heartfelt but a tad ignorant. I thought this pair was sugary sweet and loved their chemistry. Fair warning that for this couple there IS a second ML that is also really nice and wholeheartedly devoted, lol, but Xia's loyalty to Shu Wen Bo stays true.
3. Xing Ke Yao x Dr. Shao | LOVE this mature couple, who's on the older side compared to the other couples, and getting their second-chance relationship. Dr. Shao's character is terse/strict yet kind-hearted while Xing Ke Yao, who is Xing Ke Lei's older sister, is savage and straightforward. They were together when they studied abroad and broke up, but neither forgot the other. With the help of friends, they slowly grow closer after meeting each other again in China!
❀ Slice of life energy when it comes to communication and trust | This translates to very little misunderstandings, and although there is some miscommunication going on, the couples learn and grow from those events.
❀ Highlighting frontline workers | When the earthquake event happens (around the teens episodes), it was thrilling to see all the characters step up and work to save earthquake victims. Sometimes they were a team, sometimes they were doing their own department's things. But the whole time, the cast was being pro-active in saving lives in such an intense emergency.
❀ Cute romances and chemistry | I really loved Sandra Ma's character as a hardworking neurosurgeon and her interactions with Bai Jing Ting's character who was in the special police force. While both had busy jobs, they were understanding of one another and flexible when it came to their relationship. Not much skinship or kisses (maybe a couple throughout the series), but their silly and relaxed interactions were so sweet and always brought a smile to my face. They had great chemistry and in general the acting was really well done!
CONS
✕ The second couple (Ruan Qing Xia x Shu Wen Bo) got a little iffy at times | I like how RQX is the chaser in this relationship, but I feel like their conflict was dragged on a bit in the drama. That is, SWB felt as if he wasn't good enough for her, even though she's open about chasing after him, and keeps rejecting her. It got tiring at some points, and RQX's chase was annoying at others. I felt bad for both characters throughout the chase, BUT when they do land on the same page it's really sweet and satisfying to see. I just think it could have dragged less, lol. (Also, I love how the nickname for SWB is "piece of wood," because he's a little dense when it comes to relationships.)
✕ 40 episodes became too long for me... | I don't think the show dragged the 40 episodes out, as there was also some form of conflict that needed to be addressed throughout the series, but I personally didn't have the stamina to keep up with 40 eps. I think when it comes to contemporary romances, 30 eps is my limit haha (and 24 is the sweet spot!). Nonetheless, it helped that the plot never got boring. I think I was just exhausted since I basically binged the series in a couple of days. If I spread the episodes out more, this might have been less of a problem.
✕ Misunderstanding level: 3/10 | They happen but are discussed and fixed because the characters are written as proper adults. This goes for all couples. Nothing that will drag or make watchers annoyed.
OVERALL
This was the first contemporary romance Chinese drama I've seen in YEARS, and it was a great one to start out with. The three powerful couples were composed of lovable characters and the production really allowed the actors to shine, despite it being 40 episodes. Definitely recommended!
(Note: My rewatch value is set to 5.0 always as a default as I'm not the type to rewatch dramas EVER. Thus, I do not take it into account when calculating overall score.)

my favorite cdrama
I loved You Are My Hero, this is now one of my favorite C-Drama‘s. Mi Ka and Xing Ke Lei are my favorite couple ever, for sure my favorite I saw in 2022 so far. Their relationship is everything and they have incredible chemistry. Honestly they are relationship is goals for me. It was my first Drama with Sandra Ma and I feel in love with her, her great portraying of Mi Ka made me like her so much. I already loved Bai Jing Ting in Reset & also in You Are My Hero he was amazing! He did an excellent job giving his character live. I also liked the other two couples even though Shu Wenbo give me a headache at times lol Why did he let Ruan Qing Xia wait for so long, but I loved them anyway. Also the third couple. Also I think the whole cast did a great job. I feared because of the 40 Episodes it will be boring at times but that never happened! Truly a rare gem!Was this review helpful to you?
Unique Cdrama
I am so loving this drama. I was trying to put my finger on what it is that I really like other than the fantastic acting or interesting story... but it's the fact is- I am not bored! The action scenes with the SWAT police team or the risky operations/surgeries or incidents in the ER room is soften by the leads quiet chemistry of their pure awkward love for each other is BALANCED very well in this series. Doing this well in a genre like this takes skill. Believe me, I am a true rom com viewer at heart and getting me to watch a genre that has to do with medical or the military or cops or law is difficult. But just with the very first episode I haven't been able to put this one down and neither will you.Was this review helpful to you?
A must watch drama series!
This is my first time writing a review ever as in I haven't done it in my whole life at least for watching movies or series. I just really want people to know that you won't regret watching it. Yeah you may say that it 's like Dots just because the characters are soldiers and doctors. But they are completely different, as in for the story. I love Dots so much but this series is way better than Dots. First, I love song joongki but bai jingting portrayed the role perfectly and better than joongki with better physique and no doubt joongki is a great actor but bai jingting didn't have to act as it looks natural. At first I don't think he's good without watching the series but the first scene of him from just first episode you would feel and say wow he's good. And Sandra Ma, I actually watch it because of her as I really like her since i watched "left ear", no doubt she's good. Then every cast are all charming and they fit perfectly with their roles. I love how they focused on medical scenes but not too much so not to look as if it's a medical drama and as well as great focus on police life and their trainings. I was actually going to watch 2 eps but when i started watching it, I can't get enough of it and in just 1 sitting, I watched up to 14 eps that I didn't sleep and can't wait for the next eps to be uploaded. I watched every scenes of every episodes which I don't normally do as I like to skip and not watch not so irrelevant scenes but because even the supporting cast are wonderful, you would also want to watch them and see the development of their story. The pace is just right and great. Was this review helpful to you?
Why is my dude/ML so skinny and awkward acting
Life is too short for stressful drama. Why spend all that time watching and be stressed? Don’t our lives already provide enough of that?Summary of the series:
- somewhat Light hearted drama romance; series had ok flow ()
- a bit of stress and felt slow watching it, had to fast forward some due to the miscommunications and awkwardness of ML
- ok romance; the ML is just too skinny and his acting was not up to par; somewhat awkward and seems like he felt out of place in lots of scenes; no idea how my dude can come up with sudden romantic items
- ok characters
- really like the earthquake arc (main reason for the 7.5 rating, without this, it would be lower)
- some added struggles, calamity or miscommunications to cause more drama and stress
- it s a bit forgetful after watching it, ending is also a bit rushed and not extend the happiest for another episode
- felt a like a poor man's copy of Descendants of the Sun series
somewhat ok romance with some stress series: watch only if you have time and have watched others
If you are looking for slow love story with super skinny ML, gratuitous added stress/drama, frequent miscommunications, insipid side stories, then this is for you.

Story had potential
This show had potential but even my love for Sandra Ma could not keep me watching it . I see why others love it but it fell flat for me somewhere in the middle. The romance was initially cute and i love the ML &FL together however the romance was too slow for me. It’s the themes in some dramas that couples don’t stay together or have passion its all innocent however we are very much melenials and having been to china I know the reality is they are not as conservative as they make these drama’s to be. We have a doctor and policeman who may have spent most of their time in their respective careers so had no time for love but i feel that this ouch have been developed more in them both learning about relationships and love together. I was often confused by how direct ML and FL are in all other areas of their lives but were not able to do so in their relationship.THE chief of neurology was ace i loved his character. Some of the medical cases were interesting.
IThe other thing that let them Down was the fact that they could have used more of the action storyline that they started with. IT FELT LIKE THAT WAS DROPPED SOMEWHERE and the focus became side characters who didn’t bring g the story forward. By the the time i dropped this show i was asking myself what is the story about and where is it going . THEY SUDDENLY INTRODUCED a weirded triangle... some of the secondary characters were boring .
OST was good.
I would not rewatch

Phenomenal Drama, must watch if you haven't already!
The suspense about this storyline is amazing, making you hold your breath in the right places and sigh with relief. The actors were phenomenal, considering the situations they had to act out and they didn't seem one bit forced to do anything at all. Absolutely recommend if you haven't already watched it!THE STORY
The characters were created very well, Xing Kelei being handsome, smart and good at most things, while Mi Ka was a very strong, caring and intelligent woman. The situations were so realistic that you might have been there yourself, and kept to a very 'real' state. The plot was simple, following a few main events and just filled in with action packed scenes.
ACTING/CAST
They definitely chose the correct people to portray these sophisticated characters! I couldn't think of anyone to play Xing Kelei better than Bai Jingting, he really got into the character and brought him into the spotlight. Sandra Ma was perfect as the role of Mi Ka, a strong willed and beautiful person. The supporting cast were great, I loved the chemistry between Ruan Qingxia (Jiang Pei Yao) and Shu Wenbo (Chen Hao).
MUSIC
The tracks in this drama were splendid and I really loved them.
I would definitely rewatch this! When I watched it for the first time, I held my breath through all the dangerous scenes and could not stop watching. Love this drama so much, 100/10 if I could give it that!

I really enjoyed watching this one. It's easy to watch, nothing too sinister, nothing overly dramatic. It's a light romantic drama, on the now trending military-medical romantic drama. It had some fillers here and there but it's still entertaining to watch. The progression of each of the characters development is really charming. I also love the fact that this show gave the viewers different blend/flavours of love.
The casts were good actors. They didn't have explosive chemistry with their onscreen partners, but it works well. The Male Lead, second and third ML ain't cruel. And most importantly, all three FL ain't dumb or helpless.
I was never bored with this one. I think it is well written. Nothing like with other shows that even you're on your tenth episode, feels like nothing of substance is happening yet.
Oh and it has a happy ending so there goes the spoiler.
