It's a Waste of time watching this drama...
Just waste of time...Had a lot of expectations from this drama and I even liked a few episodes earlier but as the drama progressed it went on getting worse..
Acting of FL was worst..
She didn't even have that passion of a doctor..
Her friend Mi Gu and her teenage crush Zhou Ran were even more worse, was a headache watching them onscreen..
There was no logic in few scenes..
Casting of characters wss too poor..
I wasted my precious time watching it until episode 30, hoping to see something better but then finally dropped it..

Action romance
I have been binging on this story line. I must commend the Producers and Makers, of this drama. Some people will not like it because it may have to much action and not enough romance. Some people will not like it because it has to much romance and not enough actiom.otary That is a the mark of a good drama. The Military culture versus the Medical culture is great. The Military misssion is to go inthere and win at all cost. The Medical is like we don't are if the person is a bad guy, we will treat everyone the same.Xia Chu and Liang Mu Ze is a great match. You can see and feel the chemistry among the two. The Producer is taking their time to develop the relationship between the two and I will add It'sabout time.. Liang Mu Ze is not one of those, rich, arrogant, I can do anything to you I want Male leads. Xia Chu has a postive role model, she is not weak minded mumbling, you can get in my face and I will not do anything Female role: which you see in so many Chinese dramas. Liang Shao Xue supporting role is overlooked. The way she portrays an ADHD person, is outstanding. You have to pay attention to what she is saying or you'll miss how smart she is.
The hurt, the sarrow, the heartbreak and the anger, Producers makes you feel it all. The chemistry among the cast is outstanding. The plots and subplots, makes you want to keep watching and watching. the action in this drama is riveting. While watching the bad guy, you really want him to get caught or get his butt beat.
The drama was outstanding. If you pay attention to the drama, there so much action and heartbreak in the series. Cast members work great together. For once there were female positive role models in the drama; in which Chinese dramasnot the case. Miltary interaction with the police was great to see. Scenery and medical hospital views were good. The questioning by Doctors, shuld help this bad person or let them die, is a age old question. I found myself rewatching parts, so I didn't miss a part.
I recommend this Drama. I will watch it again.

Surprisingly not as bad as most reviews suggest.
Out of boredom and looking for more than just romance, this drama was chosen. It is surprisingly not as bad as most reviews suggest. The main plot and core messages of the drama are rather conventionally scripted and were also very explicitly conveyed to the audience. It gives the impression of having few surprises in terms of content, as many events were predictable, yet the show is still worth watching. Relatively convincing was the illustration of the personal and professional difficulties and problems that are associated with military career paths, in particular the psycho-emotional strains being outlined in a way that was comprehensible but still somewhat lacking in terms of depth. The main leads did a relatively satisfactorily job in attempting to portray the addressed professions on a diverse and multi-dimensional level. The subplots with the corresponding characters were told in detail so that most of the substories were wrapped up sufficiently, even if they often ended sadly, painfully, less benevolently or audience-friendly. It is refreshing and positively surprising to see a production with a suboptimal ending for some substories, which was apparently intentionally not shot and realised to please the audience - it apparently intended to choose the opposite way, in order to possibly be able to show other facets cinematically, because life is, after all, rarely only rosy and you cannot always get what you want. Although there are many shortcomings in the comprehensibility of some of the storylines, it must also be emphasised that the main leads had relatively good chemistry and were also able to depict the complex character developments of their portrayed film characters with lots of efforts.Cast: relatively well-known main leads
Acting: the performance was generally good and convincing enough according to the requirements
Editing: mostly okay, but still not seamless at times
Music: unimpressive
Set design: convincingly realistic in terms of military themes, otherwise rather ordinarily average
Costumes: mostly thematically adapted, otherwise everyday-casual
Colour palette: theme-specific unobtrusive
In summary, I would say that it was not a waste of time to have watched this show, with some fast-forwarding/skipping towards the end. It is one of those rather unconventional productions that try to address very complex criminological processes, rather little known (ECMO) or even still somewhat "controversial" (phage therapy) medical treatment processes and the divergent socio-emotional challenges, fears and struggles that go along with them. It is a commendable venture to realise all this in a drama. Considering all the aspects involved, this show should be rated between 7 to 7.5 but I would rather give it an 8 out of 10 because of the entertainment value and production efforts.

The story i s a little bit cliché.
I was hesitant to watch this drama because I find the plot is too similar to those I've seen before. But still I was able to finished it and I was contented with what they have done. This is not the best but not the worse drama I have seen. Anyway good job to staff and crew for giving us a well synchronize fight scenes. The props that used in this drama was well prepared and they actually provide good stuff. The actors was amazing!!!!! hand up to all!
re-watch value : I might watch this one !!!
If you want to watch a series while waiting for the other series to finished I can recommend this one.
It is easily digested and no complicated and twisted plot
stay safe everyone!!!!

Satisfactory
This drama is interesting....What went wrong?
The Length of the Drama, way too long. 40 Episodes is excessive. It is a very slow burn. I know Johnny Huang acts in plenty of long dramas but he is exceptional actor with good report with the audience. If his dramas were scaled back to 24 episodes they would be so much better!
What went right?
I felt the character development for the supports towards the end. Lot had boring irrelevant dialogue at the start but it picked up momentum late. I was very invested in the side stories of the supports.
What would I change?
The Main Leads direction in the end. I will be honest, I am a big Johnny fan but felt the ending didn't do him right. Li Qin was good as Female Lead but didn't want me seeing more of her if I am being honest, Johnny yes, Li Qin no!
The drama earnt a good score for its ending. Very sad endings for the supports, not the mains. The supports really did come alive and save this drama to a good score.

If you wondering is it worth or not to watch
Is it recommended? YES!! For you who loves action medical army it is very recommended for you, but to rewatch? No.Actually the story line is good and i don't have any complain except for medical things like how Xia Chu trying to break the rules (nah real doctor will never do some experiment with 10:90 probability and real doctor wouldn't bring their personal emotions for their patient and then trying to make patient's family agree with her without head doctors permissions) for me it just unprofessional, then how they did chest compression is just ughh😌
Honestly i wouldn't complain it just if... IF their acting is good, female lead acting is really annoying beside Liang Muze but it will be natural when she acted with others, i don't know why maybe it just Xia Chu character? I dunno. It makes Huang Jingyu character feel awkward, while Jingyu known as well as actor with good chemistry with his partner, but sorry Jingyu trying the best while the girls don't.
BUTTTT there is something good why you should watch because of supporting roles is so damn good, i'm falling in love with 3rd couple Liang Shaoxue and Tian Yong. Their chemistry since the first met is really good and Shaoxue could brings the real teenager emotions while tian yong would hide his emotion and doing act to made watchers happy funny cry angry sad.
For the story i've said before it is really good for medical action, you would see some act of Liang Muze and team holding their guns, then how rich this drama😂 i would say this is expensive drama because they are shooting in yesaya, bring the tank, bomb a lot of buliding, until casting so many foreign for supporting roles.
That's why you should watch it when you want to healing urself, it's the light drama and recommended to watch but not for rewatch

I'm rewatching it again, but it's unnecessarily LONG, and draggy.
TBH, I LOVE THIS DRAMA. I'm currently rewatching it again with 2x speed playback for Johnny Huang. Because he look mad hot in this drama.Johhny Huang character? I don't really have complain about his character, not. He portrays a good military man, his actions, how he react to stuff and what he says are all good.
Xia Chu the FL, I'm not rly a fond of her character, she's a doctor but I feel like some of her actions here is not a good representation of a doctor. But she's a fair enough character (for me)
My fav character in this drama is the CAT lol
however this drama is UNNECESSARILY LONG. 40 eps? Bruh, they could've at least shorten it up a bit, esp the conflict with Zhou Ran. It's to DRAGGY...
Mi-Gu is the worst best friend anyone could get, and Xia Chu forgave her?
Zhou Ran is also such a dramatic, annoying villain.
I was expecting the villain character would be more like villain, but him? He was just annoying af.

The drama was overall good, although the fl and ml is hardly seen in the last parts of the drama cuz the last parts was given to the side characters, I can understand because the episodes are in 40s which is not normal for other dramas that I watched. I was focusing on the relationship of the fl and ml but they focused the last parts of the drama to the side characters which Im dissapointed at. Most of the Chinese novels and dramas I watched are really like this drama, but Im not as dissapointed as the drama I wactched before this, the drama is still good. I wish this would get part 2 for the fl and ml because thier ending is not that good to me, but to those who wants to watch this drama, watch it, I recommend to watch the drama yourself to really give your own judgement not because the others dropped it doesnt mean its really that bad but anyways go watch it! Action, doctors and romances from the fridge
The author probably has no experience with romantic relationships. Is she a desperate wallflower, knows love experiences only from novels and movies? No feeling. Nowhere. When the main couple's relationship should pick up steam, FL starts giving the boyfriend and viewers emotional cold showers. She gives lectures that are supposed to make her feelings clear, but sound like instruction manuals for vacuum cleaners. Only when she talks to ML about her ex, her time with him, and her suffering of the breakup does she come across as more emotional.
ML, an excellent, attractive man, the kind you rarely find, is just a constant gardener of this silly plant that rarely gets her appreciation.
In real life, most men would give up and wish FL luck in her expected new relationship disaster with the old hoodlum.
FL gets praised often and a lot. All the Mary Sue moments are annoying, unfortunately you have to endure that with almost all female authors.
Jonny Huang is great, while Li Quin has to portray an emotionally impaired person. She plays an emotionally cold person perfectly, although that probably wasn't intended. Never have I seen such a cold relationship portrayed. Too bad. LiQuin is a great actress and very sweet. Why do they do this to her?
At one point the script forces her to say, "If women had any sense, all men would be single forever." ...and men in hydrochloric acid are a solved problem, hahaha. Emancene bullshit!
Other forists have presented other actors, there is some misery. Well, despite annoying impairments, the series was sometimes entertaining.
However: I prefer to keep silent about developments towards the end of the story. There are some things that simply can't be depicted. However, we understood the good-human intention and thank you for the fish.
Last not least: I would urgently recommend the author to change her profession. Not only romances are not her thing

Not the best, not the worst
The story of an ice-cold army officer + a kind-hearted surgeon whose lives become intertwined unexpectedly. They first meet in a harrowing situation & neither is impressed. It’s definitely not a “meet cute” scene - bad guys shooting, soldiers trying to incapacitate them, & civilians getting caught in the crossfire. With tensions high & emotions flaring, it’s no wonder they initially don’t like each other. Lines are drawn & our Leads, though both “good guys”, are standing on opposite sides. Both still upset with the other, they go their separate ways, never planning to see one another again. But fate has other plans…
Back in their home country, they find themselves suddenly cohabitating (I admit, I’m a fan of this trope!) Due to issues for the FL, they grudgingly agree to share the space. It’s not easy sharing space with someone, no matter who they are. But when you don’t like your roommate it’s a whole lot worse! They seem to always be clashing, yet their hearts slowly begin to soften & their dislike turns to mutual affection. They form a friendship that turns to more, but some people are determined to keep them apart. Mostly the villain, whom the FL believes is her old childhood friend so she warmly welcomes his presence, not knowing he’s the bad guy the ML is hunting. The Leads clash over him, but it eventually all works out.
[[*Side note/rant - if a “friend” is constantly interfering in your relationship or if they don’t accept that you don’t return their affection & continue to pursue you despite you not being single, would you really deem them a friend? Writers, can we please start having our Leads cut toxic people out of their lives rather than continuing to indulge & placate them?*]]
Aside from that super annoying guy who got way too much screen time, imo, I enjoyed this drama. The Leads are both dedicated to their careers so they put a lot of thought into whether they can invest enough in a relationship or if they’re better staying friends. I appreciated this (though I think they overthought things & took too long) because it showed that they were both taking their relationship seriously & sincerely. It wasn’t a heat of the moment decision nor were either of them instetested in a fling. If they were going to take a step forward, it was gonna be with the intent of never taking that step back. And once they finally decide to follow their hearts, they’re all in. Devoted & protective, never letting go of one another’s hands. They face some scary stuff where they each have to fight to save the others life, deepening their bond more & more. It was nice to see it wasn’t all one-sided. Sometimes it’s the guy constantly rescuing the girl in dramas, but here we see the FL saving the ML’s life too.
So while there were aspects I didn’t like about the show, overall I enjoyed this story of a doctor & soldier falling in love.

Started out strong.....
My Dear Guardian started out strong for me. I felt like they were starting off with high energy and you really got a feel for the characters.I wouldn't compare this to You Are My Hero, even though one is a military person and the other one is a doctor, these two dramas have completely different storylines (but if you like that troupe, it's there).
I really like Jonny Huang, I fell in love with him in Something Just Like This, he can convey pretty good chemistry with the actress he plays against. As for Li Qin, I thought she was fine in Joy Of Life (although her screen time was minimal) but she sure overacts in My Dear Guardian. I didn't notice it at first, until midway and then I was getting kind of annoyed.
The overall premise of the drama is good. You have two people who butt heads and it's a love/hate kind of troupe. BUT to stretch it out for 40 episodes, that's a bit much. It gets really repetitive with the fighting back and forth, but maybe you are into that?
I think if you are a fan of the actors, it's worth watching, but I was slightly disappointed.

I just wanted a Liang in my life
It's the second cdrama I've completed and I really liked this one too, there were parts that I found dragging but in the end I think it was worth it.In the end, I didn't understand what happened to Xia's career. I was hoping it would at least show the marriage proposal, but it didn't.
I was deeply saddened by the end of Tian, I was very moved by Xue's story, I completely broke down at the end, when she said that he was still there in all things, when the heart accelerated when she was around (that was extremely touching).
I was lost for a few hours, without really understanding the story of the twins (which was which), I was so angry with Zhuo that there were moments when I wanted to abandon the drama, and speaking of anger, I hated Mi Gu, from beginning to end, she was so blind that it irritated me, I really didn't find true friendship on her part, how could she have supported that crazy stalker? Many things could have been avoided.
