Between us

As I started to watch, my love for this drama started to grow. From the very beginning until the end, I was absolutely captivated by it: the protagonists, the settings, the OST... everything.
Truth be told, it is a beautiful, exciting, and sincere story about trauma and companionship, yet that is not everything there is.

Slowly piecing it together, I would gladly watch it again a thousand times.

Highly recommended.

PUT THAT HAIR DOWN

Overall i think it was a good show, but as many people have already stated, the story is kind of boring. I wish the writers didnt focus so much on the " does he love me" trope, and it seems to me that they thought Teams "trauma story" would fill in the gaps while we waited.
The side couples were good though, at least they knew how to cast.
I would still recommend watching Until We Meet Again before this, because i dont want people to think that the "quality" is the same.
Also, Win looks so good with his hair down...wish we had more of that.

Love it!

Yes I know it's not perfect & Team comes off bratty at times but something about this series melts my heart. The story didn't feel forced and I like that the relationship was more down to earth. I think there should have been more Bee & Prince because honestly Benz & Tae are ADORABLE together & someone needs to give them a series ASAP. Getting to see the side characters from UWMA was lovely. UWMA was my first BL and I was instantly a BounPrem fan & Sammy is amassing in everything I've seen here in.

One of my favorites!!!

If you have already watched "Until We Meet Again," then definitely dive into this one NOW! I love Prem and Boun and honestly while watching "Until We Meet Again," I really wished we saw more of their characters story. WISH GRANTED! This story takes place at exatly the same time as "Until we meet again" but from the prespective of Boun (win) and Prem (team). I actually like it better but im biased being such a fan of BounPrem. I also love how they weave the two shows together and even show how Fluke (Pharm) and Ohms (Dean) characters indirectly influence the others. Its funny, emotional, steamy, and honesty just really well done. GO BINGE WATCH IT! just make sure you watch "Untill we meet again" first. some things may confuse you or may not have the same impact if you dont.

this show was amazing

i loved the acting in the show it really felt like they meant it. the music really put some depth in to the story. i have watched between us like a dozen time just cause of how much love the show, you can tell that the actors have a close bond with each other in real life and in the series. The only thing that i did that i didn't really enjoy about was how many couples there were it was a bit over the top with five couples and yes i know that it was more like four but there was still five. between us was an extremely sweet and kind series you also had its sad moments like when team and win were confessing their love for each other.

High expectations not met?

So, I belong to those that actually was interested in WinTeam and then decided to watch UMWA before watching BU. Meaning, I did not wait three or so years for a WinTeam series. I think that is the main problem with why people are not satisfied, they had too high expectations and waited for a long time.

IMO, I think it did help a lot to watch UMWA before BU, I have seen people saying you shouldn't watch it because BU!WinTeam is so different, but it would be kinda cool to understand what's going on in the background. DeanPharm would seem so random otherwise.

I didn't really mind seeing a different WinTeam you could say, especially if we consider how we really didn't get much of them in UMWA. Kinda sucks that they changed some scenes completely, but oh well *shrug* Because I do not have the attachment like other long time fans, I don't mind as much.
My biggest problem with the writing though is that it was simply too much. Why did we have not 3 or 4 but FIVE different pairings in this? We could take out Bee and Prince's storyline and everything still would make perfect sense. And, this is gonna be controversial, I wouldn't have minded if they wouldn't have had included WaanTul. I did not care all too much about them.

That, topped with WinTeam's rather draggy dynamics ,caused everything to feel a bit too long. I think if they would have just focused on DeanPharm, WinTeam with a bit of Manaow and Pruek it would have been fine.
Nevertheless, WinTeam have a special place in my heart, even though I did find some of the writing to be quite weak. Maybe it's BounPrem's chemistry or something. I'm still pissed at how annoyed or unwilling Team looked when Win touched him, I'm so glad that trope is slowly dying in BL. We could have had sexy couply WinTeam all the time, damnit!

Also, special shoutout to OhmFluke having much better chemistry in their, like, 3 scenes together.

Overall, had some great moments while simultaneously having a lot of weak ones as well. Saving grace is that I have a special place in my heart for WinTeam! I can't even tell you why, I just do!

Isn’t excellent, but it’s not boring either

Actually, at first, I didn’t want to watch this drama because I had seen the first season and wasn’t interested. But I ended up loving this couple more than the main couple from the first season. When I saw that the new season was coming out, I wasn’t interested at first, but then I thought, “I’ll give it a try.”

At first, I didn’t really fall for it, but then Hia Win’s smile totally caught me. I started watching the whole drama because of Hia Win, and later I actually grew to like Win’s little brother too—he’s so cute and really talented.

It’s just a normal drama, but I think it’s way better than the first season. The other couples are okay too, though I think some of them need to improve their expressions, especially Hia Win’s boyfriend. Sometimes his facial expressions are all the same. I don’t really like that actor, but because of Win, it doesn’t matter much.

I must say, Win’s character is very different from most rich main leads. He’s kind, cool, cute, and has a lot of good qualities. The writer actually did a great job building his character—I love it.

So overall, this drama isn’t excellent, but it’s not boring either.

Just between bad and good

Do you need to watch uwma to understand between us? No, you do not. Between us is a stand alone story that can be watched independently from uwma. HOWEVER, it's just not on the same level as uwma and it pains me to admit that because i loveddd boonxprem. They had great chemistry and were funny actors in uwma.
Between Us made it weird with how contradicting both the characters were compared to the performance in uwma. And like, yes they're independent stories, but the inconsistencies in characters were way off. like why is win not flirty and chaotic anymore? why is team's only personality trait food (and trauma)?
We deserved to see more of pharmxteam interacting and giving each other advice it wouldve been so cute to see these two dumbasses interact like they did in the first ep <3
I still enjoyed watching this series and the potential was there, it's just a little bit rough around the edges.

Several great examples of seeking verbal consent, and several other examples of dubcon/noncon. Win asked for verbal consent several times, but he also kisses Team immediately after Team says not to touch him, until Team physically pushes him away. There was one scene where he asked for verbal consent, and Team did not give a verbal or physical answer, but it was taken as a yes anyways. I appreciate the attempt, but it wasn’t truly a good depiction of consent overall.

Team constantly looked uncomfortable. He was always backing away from and pushing Win away, even once they were in an established relationship. From a real world perspective, there was a lot of noncon/dubcon as a result, because consent is determined by someone’s words and actions, not what may or may not be going on in their head. I think that was a poor character / acting choice.

Lots of boundary crossing from Win, such as finding Team’s address and coming to his room when Team was avoiding him, or making comments about Team knowing what’s under his swim trunks when Team is uncomfortable with their recent hook up.

Win primarily took charge and took the lead both in the bedroom and the relationship. Team had this inexperienced, virginal thing going. Win was much more dominating, like slamming Win into the lockers, pinning his wrists, and I guess a kind of sexual intimidation? Team did flip the script a few times but Win primarily took the lead. None of the roughness was pre-negotiated.

Win was also the one responsible for taking care of and protecting Team and not so much in return. I feel like a lot of the time, the way this presents itself in BLs is that the caring/protective one is either controlling or parental, and both of those are a turn off. Like the whole showing up to take care of him when he’s drunk when he’s not talking to you and didn’t give you his location, or forcing him to sleep in your room for his insomnia, or demanding that he tell you in advance if he’s going to skip class - it’s presented as sweet and romantic, but it’s really violating his wishes, boundaries, and autonomy. Caring for someone when they don’t want to be cared for or in ways they don’t want to be cared for is not actually caring for them. It’s indulging your own controlling impulses.

Plus, the way Win spoke, it felt he viewed Team as a little kid some times. Like he kept petting his head and saying “good boy” like Team was a 5 year old or a dog.

There was one scene where Team almost drowns and Win saves him. The first thing Team does is start apologizing to Win, like a little kid scared of getting in trouble with his parents. And Win proves him right because he immediately starts going off on him, cussing at him and even raising his fist to punch him, but stopping at the last minute. The whole scene was gross. Win’s anger is meant to stem from a place of worry and fear but the minute you feel tempted to hit your partner, it’s already gone too far. Instead of Win comforting Team, who just nearly died, he just made it all about himself. The way Win kept going off on Team for not listening about the pool being closed was bullshit, because people have the right to make bad decisions without their partners berating them and telling them they’re not allowed. And telling your partner that they’re not allowed to make choices that you perceive as harmful to them is still controlling, even if it stems from a well-intentioned place.

Overall, I wish the relationship was on a more equal ground. I wanted Team to put in the effort to caring for Win too. And I wanted Win to stop being so aggressive in his “care”.

There were two good NC scenes at the beginning of the series, but the heat really dies down from there. I would have traded the sex scenes for some proper, continuous physical affection. Like it’d be great if Team wasn’t always dodging Win and actually kissed him once in a while. It would have been better of the NC scenes were later in the series as well, because as it is, we start strong and end disappointed.

There were way too many couples. Bee/Prince and the M/F couple could have been cut. They were awkward and boring and a waste of screen time. The last 2 episodes felt more like an ensemble romance and I felt that the main couple was put to the side to close up all these boring side stories.

New Favorite #BounPrem

The story is about Win, a third-year senior, and Team, a freshman who are both members of the University Swimming Club. Team has a traumatized by the death of his cousin as a child, because of his guilt Team often has nightmares, especially when going to compete which makes him insomnia. Win who knew about it finally asked Team to sleep with him. Where Win also has his own problems, as the middle child in his family he feels less cared for and feels he must always be reliable. This causes Win to always try to help others and cannot express his true feelings. From the closeness that was initially just for fun, they finally realized that they loved and relied on each other.

At first, I was confused why there were so many bad reviews for the drama because, for me personally, this is one of my favorite BL dramas. Indeed, I watched Between Us first and then watched the initial series entitled Until We Meet Again. It turns out that according to me that's one of the advantages. Because I really like the character Win and Team version in Between Us. Although I also agree with some opinions that the story can be made even deeper.

I really like how Boun (Win) and Prem (Team) are very comfortable with each other so it doesn't seem awkward at all, maybe this is also because they have worked together several times since Until We Meet Again.

Can't wait for the next #BounPrem project.
