Butterflies, Good Vibes and Giddy Feelings All Over
Saying I love this drama is an understatement. It's just so beautiful.I love how admiration, love, maturity, friendship, and relationships were portrayed here. I love how there's no big drama to ruin the relationship. It's just so beautiful. And I'm truly at loss for words on how much to share how this drama just made me overall so happy. The good vibes it gives is just enough to tell people to watch this masterpiece.
The story transported me back to the days wherein high school was truly a mix of fun, studies, and just giddying interactions with crushes and all that. Although not all high school love stories end up everlasting, the way the story was portrayed it was enough to just root for these couples.
The way she calls him Rang Rang will always be something that giddies me up. While it may be annoying if others do it, the way she portrayed her love and admiration through calling his name was just so sweet. Ahhhh~ this show gave me so much butterflies and love. I wish they made more shows like this.

"It was that glance, just that quick glance, that brought us together for life. "
God where do I even begin??? Honestly, this drama's alternative title should be "tooth rotting fluff". My heart felt warm and content watching this one. The sweet, heartwarming story with a super talented cast and the beautiful cinematography made it one of my all time favs. One thing I absolutely loved about this drama was that it didn't follow any cliches or stereotypes we usually see in these youth dramas such as dumb female lead, super smart 'perfect' male lead, stupid love triangle, main leads breaking up after high school etc etc. The male lead had his issues and insecurities and the female lead helped him slowly but surely sort them out, and I think that's amazing. Also loved how none of the main characters outshone one another. They all had their charms. Like, Gu Ran and Jiang Jia's love story deserves a drama on it's own and giving Guan Feng that backstory made him more than just a comic relief character. It's an adorable, bubbly drama about youth ,friendship and young love like no other. Definitely worth your time. Was this review helpful to you?

One of the best coming of age drama!
I really really liked this, it is one of the most perfect coming of age chinese drama. From the actors, actresses, storyline and ost it’s just so nostalgic.I don’t know I guess i’m just a sucker for stories that are realistic, super romantic and no overacting drama or evil characters involved.
It’s a must watch!

Perfect youth drama!!!
I started this drama in early September before school got busy. It started great. The casual meeting of the main leads and the friendship between the main cast was the sweetest thing. Starting the drama, I could not relate to the plot as I hadn't met a group of friends that I connected to. I stopped watching for a while because of school and I had to focus. Now finishing this drama during summer break has been heartbreaking. I made so many new friends this year and now I don't want to lose them. Watching this drama reminded me of my friends and how we are all moving on, pursuing new goals. There is no longer a see you tomorrow as there is no more tomorrow, when September rolls by, we will all be in university.Aside from this, the drama itself was short and sweet. A perfect blend of friendship and high school romance. High school lovers until they grew up. I love how the female lead was so bubbly and presistance. How could you not fall for someone so persistent? The main male lead WAS A WALKING GREEN FLAG. No matter what happens, he always stays by the female lead and on her side, avoiding any conflict that could lead to misunderstanding. The perfect guy. I loved the friendship displayed in this drama, the sweet interactions, and how each one of them cared for each other. The second lead was just as cute. It took them a while to figure out each other's feelings but it was worth it. Something I didn't like was towards the end of the drama. things felt a little bit rushed. After the main leads got together, the whole plot sped up, moving through high school, then university getting jobs growing up, and getting married. It kinda diverged from a sweet high school rom-com to a more grown-up version, but the female lead was still giving vibes of immaturity despite being an adult. Some scenes were a little cringy but you can ignore that because the main leads chemistry was off the charts. It was amazing, the way they understood each other so well, and how the female lead managed to bring out the cheerful and happy side of the male lead was perfect. Overall really good drama, was pretty short which makes it perfect for people who don't have a lot of time or patience to go through intense long episodes. This drama was refreshing and helped to clean the plate from all the heavy plot, and a lot of misunderstandings.
Definitely recommend it for anyone to watch, high schoolers who need something to relax, or even adults to help them remember their childhood and how life was for them. I 100% recommend it! I just wished Guan Fang found someone because my boy was so lonely and single. He became the fifth wheel everywhere they went.

Grumpy x Sunshine but make it sweet and healthy way!
So it's 2am and I just finished this drama and decided to write my first review while drying my happy tears.I had way different expectations when I started. watching this drama, I thought it will be stupid low IQ FL and smart yet cold ML, full of clichés and frustrating misundertandings but boy I was wrong.
I have decided to watch this drama after finishing few historical dramas, almost all are 40 eps, where they take u up to the sky with emotions and shatter your heart down so i needed something light and sweet to lift my mood, and since I had this drama in my PTW for a while, I am happy that I decided to watch it now!
The main lead's chemistery was so good that they made me pay for Youku App just to binge watch the drama with no interrupting and watch all the BTS, since I couldn't have enough of them.
She is literally rays of sunshine and he is a green forest, both are smart in their own ways, know their values and trust each other no matter what happens, side charachters were also supportive and cute that I didn't skip any scene of them.
I feel like this drama is perfect when it comes to the story, acting and length, and the best important part to me, a great completed happy ending, no need to use your imagination to think of what happened to them afterwards!!

A love letter dedicated to youth
Ah!... I love romance, I love seeing people falling in love. I loved the couples in this drama. But I gotta say, my most favorite thing here was the group. I loved everything in this drama but I simply ADORED their friendship. I wish I had friends like that in my teen years. Damn I wish I had friends like them today! This drama made me feel so much nostalgia for my school days. But also, it made me feel sad for not having that for myself. A lot of moments I kinda felt were bittersweet because of that. But I think that's good cuz it's meaningful in a way. Actually this drama can be very deep sometimes. Like in the end of ep 10, all of what Zaizai says about grandmas, but especially the part when she says that she misses her grandma but doesn't dare say it to her father cuz he certainly misses his mom too. It was so beautiful! I almost cried. Other moments and quotes I liked are:
- In ep 19 when Gu Ran wrote a letter to Jiang Jia and he says "all life encounters are reencounters after a long time apart" it resonated to me and I felt it;
- At the end of ep 9, Zaizai says "every existence is meaningful to someone" and that everyone is somehow special for somebody;
- In ep 18, the conversation between Guan Fang and his grandma after her surgery. It made me really feel how time passes and one day we'll have to be the ones taking care of our parents.
Second couple is really cute. I liked them just as much as the main couple. Unfortunately they only get together in the penultimate ep so they had practically no screen time together doing couple things. It was sad bc they had a lot of potential and I really liked them.
ML's parents were the worst, I hated them. The way they treated his younger brother Luli better than Lurang and always put all the blame for anything bad related to Luli on Lurang infuriated me. It was so sad seeing Lurang distancing himself from Luli due to that and Luli sad for not being able to have a brother relationship with him. I just wished that when Lurang become an adult he stopped talking to his parents bc they don't deserve him. Fortunately, they resolved their issues and now they can be brothers for real, regardless of what their parents do to Lurang. And the drama kinda forgets all this plot after the brothers reconcile so we don't know if Lurang still goes through this after graduating.
I missed them as a group in the final eps. They chose to focus on the main couple after graduating from school and the side characters were left aside a little. They could've showed more of the leads's friends after graduating. What they were working or anything in specific. Although I loved them as group in school (and I loved it all for real, the best part of everything) they spent too much time working on their time at school that when they became adults it all felt rushed. The drama lost a little of what made it so special. But it was good regardless of that. It was well-rounded and complete the way it was.
OSTs for this drama were really good. Besides there being many, they really set the tone and energy for each scene. I loved their vibes. And the visuals on the overall are stunning. The opening is so sweet with videos of the group filmed with a recorder. It's all so nostalgic it put me in the right vibe for the eps.
So that was it. I super reccomend this drama if you like slice-of-life youth dramas. It had the perfect amount of romance, friendship, a little bit of found family and healing. What I want to say is that I felt so moved watching this. It was a love letter dedicated to the youth.

such a beautiful friendship
First of all, this drama is the first Chinese drama that I watched with such enthusiasm, not because of anything, but the story of this drama is so beautiful for everyone. Starting from friendship, family, history of life journey, and romance in this drama is so beautiful and complex, there is nothing that can be said much because it is a drama this is the best of the best, thank you.Was this review helpful to you?

That glance seemed to hint me My light was coming......
"When I Fly Towards You" is one of those rare youth dramas that doesn't rely on over-the-top plots — it gently pulls you in with sincerity, warmth, and nostalgia. I watched it with my whole heart, and it truly became one of the best experiences I've had with a coming-of-age story.Zhang Lurang and Su Zaizai’s journey was warm and healing they never needed drama to be powerful, their love spoke through small gestures and unspoken understanding. Their whole journey when she needed him he was there when he needed her she was there they helped each other every single things was special, and the last episode I can't forget this his propose , their wedding it was so dreamy.
The friendship group was absolute gold. Gu Ran, with his cold exterior and secretly soft heart, and his relationship with Jiang Jia was so wholesome quiet, protective love that grew with care. They felt real, steady, and comforting. And Guang Fang? He was the sunshine of the group. His goofiness, pure-hearted loyalty, and emotional honesty added such balance and joy to every scene. Every friend felt like someone I knew or wished I had growing up.
Although all the episodes were so amazing but episodes 16, 19, and 24 hit me the hardest, it was really special I cried, laughed, and genuinely felt like I had been pulled back into my own school days. The emotional weight, the shy glances, the inside jokes, the silent support among friends it all made me miss the version of myself who still believed the world was that simple.
This drama didn’t just tell a story it gave me back a piece of my youth.🌷
Every person should watch it. I give it 100000/10.

Chinese drama that is as sweet as cotton candy
If you like Hidden Love, then try watching When I Fly Towards You. The storyline is fresh but also heartwarming.I love how the producer explores the story between the characters in a simple but also interesting way, especially the love journey between Zhang Lurang and Su Zaizai. Even though towards the end of the episode the storyline sped up a bit, I wasn't disappointed because they had a beautiful ending.
Watching this drama reminds me of summer and unforgettable memories of youth!

Sweet love
It is very sweet and cute. It isn’t like any other drama plot. It is quite unique. The sad scene never fails to make me cry and the happy scenes never failed to make me smile and scream. Even though I rewatched it 10 times I am still not tired of it. It is very vintage and teenage vibes. It portraits everyone's dream teenage love and friendship. I highly recommend it. I watched many dramas before and I can proudly say tgis is the best one.Was this review helpful to you?
