I love you, Rang Rang! Can you hug me?

I LOVE this kind of drama. It's about our lives, people's youth, and their growth into adulthood. It's full of romantic feelings, friendship, and beautiful moments. Sometimes, there are little hardships that they endure. I felt so envious watching them. Now, I'm experiencing a bit of a romantic crisis. I want to hug someone like Rang Rang, and I want someone who will love me like Rang Rang or Gu Ran. I want it so much.

To be honest, I enjoyed Jiang Jia and Gu Ran a little bit more than the main couple. But it was beautiful to watch their journey. I smiled with them and cried because of happiness. It was so romantic, cute, and funny. I think it might be the best youthful, romantic drama about life and relationships that I've seen. Although it was too perfect to be real, I felt happy watching it. Thank you for making my day better. I hope there will be more dramas like this in the future.

a drama to watch when you need something fresh and adorable

i honestly didnt like the first few eps but later it got better. If you want a drama that is cute, fluffy, highschool and friends to lovers trope, this may be the right one for you. The second couple is also very cute and funny. Watchers can learn a lot from watching this cdrama.i love how both of them have flaws and they help each other to fix it. Such as ZLR is weak in english and SZZ is weak in math. The male lead and the second lead are also such green flags. When I Fly Towards You is the perfect example of the typical saying " she fell first, but he fell harder " after Hidden Love. Overall, i will highly recommend this drama for new cdramabies.

When I Fly Towards S2

When I Fly Towards You is one of the most wholesome and emotionally balanced youth dramas out there. It’s not just about romance—it’s a thoughtful mix of love, friendship, self-growth, and family struggles, all told with a light and sincere tone.

The story centers on Su Zaizai, a bubbly and outspoken high school girl who falls for Zhang Lurang, a quiet and reserved top student. At first, he seems cold and distant, but as the story unfolds, we learn that he’s dealing with a lot of pressure from his family, especially from constantly being compared to his younger brother. These family issues deeply affect his confidence and self-worth, making his journey of opening up even more touching.

What really makes this drama stand out is how well it balances all of its elements. The romance is sweet and natural, the friendships are supportive and funny, and the school life feels nostalgic and real. Every character, even the side ones, adds something meaningful to the story.

The pacing is calm but never boring. The soft visuals and warm tone make it easy to watch, and by the end, it leaves you with a genuine feeling of comfort and hope.

cliche, enjoyable, and best of all, unproblematic

Honestly, this is pretty much your run of the mill highschool and young love drama. It took me two tries to get past the initial first few episodes, but after that I coasted right through.

There are a lot of things to love about this WIFTY. The main fl is cute, witty, and bright. She has a good heart, but she can stand up for herself and knows how to prevent others from walking all over her. It's a refreshing change from other cute fl characters who need the ml to stand of for them. Although the ml was always there, it was more out of support and encouragement rather than a need to save her. The main couple quietly yet openly supported each other throughout, effectively cutting off many overdone and tiring cliches used to create drama. Because of this, it was easy to watch. All the problems were faced together and solved quickly through the power of good ol' honesty and respect, and honestly, loved that.

There is a second couple that is just as cute and loveable, which you sometimes fail to see. Both were great in their own rights and fun to watch.

The friendships and relationships really shine here. Besides the romance, they tackle things like societal pressure, respect of others and self, growing pains, the meaning of friendships ,and how parental love effects their children. It was all portrayed well and easily digestible without being too frustrating.

Some parts did lose my interest, but not for lack of pacing. This type of highschool drama is either hit or miss for me, and this one sat on the high end of hit. I went into watching with this knowledge and came out pleasantly surprised and with fewer tears in my tearducts.

All in all, this is incredible sweet, meaty in the right places, and just stinkin gosh darn lovable. I would recommend watching if you're looking for something light to keep you in a good mood.

I really love when I fly towards you. What I love the most was the chemistry between Zhou Yiran and Zhang MiaoYi. I hope to see the both of them in another drama because I think they are so cute together. At first I wasn't really intrested in watching When I fly towards you but my FYP literally begged me to watch it. I'm really glad I watched it because I could really feel the story. The main couple is of course my favorite but the side couple was also very good I loved their interactions and they were so cute. I really hope others will be watching this Drama because it's really good if you like school romance.

Late 95s-early 2000s Kids Will Relate To This...

"Sun sets but love remains and your heart will still beats in pleasure when I fly towards you"
*
*
This is the first drama in recent years that made me want to write here again as I was on a vacuum for watching any C-dramas, K-dramas, Thai dramas, movies etc (to focus on my new found hobby-watching anime series and reading mangas, manhwas and manhuas).. Fyi, I watched this from Netflix recommendation after I finished "Hidden Love". I thought that has no rivals, boi I was so wrong. This...this drama hits different..

You won't find any extraordinary plot lines that blew your mind from its plot twist but from the simplicity it brings through each realistic dialogue, it made me smile, laughed like a maniac, and even mad and cried..I relate to all of the scenes here as a late gen z facing through the same struggles and problems..

The first half of this drama throw me back to my middle school & highschool days (from the transition of their phones, TV, PS, cameras, etc), we used to not care that much with internet like now, and that rl relationship is what matters to us.. It kinda made me jealous of how lucky all the main characters here that they got to find real and true friendship and love that lasts years..Having someone special like RangRang & ZaiZai to each other and having best friends to support you is a blessing in a tough world like right now..

Anyway, here are my detailed reviews :
☑️ Plot : 10/10 Tho I think there were quite few moments where the plot jumps randomly and without any further explanation, but it didn't disrupt the overall flow of the plot. I can feel the sincerity the writing & production team from the script. All the loose ends have been tied up, the audience also got to see many fan service scenes of their super duper sweet fluffy moments even until their marriage!

☑️Acting : 100000/10 Thank you casting team for choosing them as the casts. They're perfect for each of the characters here. I was honestly surprised to see Ai Jia here as a highschool student🤣 But I found myself grinning, laughing and sighing from their acting! It's sooo rare for me to laugh like that from watching a drama even recent K-dramas failed to give me the perfect comedy lines that made me laugh hysterically. Special shout out to Zhou Yi Ran for successfully embodied Lurang's character perfectly. I thought I would see another Irie Naoki type of character where you rarely see the tsundere ML showing emotions but heree, Yi Ran cleverly showed such delicate subtle emotions on his face..You can see the transformation of him falling in love with ZaiZai from the first half until the end.

☑️Cinematography : 1000/10 Chef kiss! No comment about that. The director and the production team has successfully portrayed the real beautiful, warm and ticklish vibes of youth time of high school students until their young adult time in real society..

☑️Characterization : 1st Couple (I'm surprised to see ZaiZai is not Kotoko type of character and RangRang is not Irie Naoki type of character. I love how strong their principle is when it comes to love and I love how we got to see ML showing his vulnerable sides (esp insecurity) and FL giving him courage and support healthily. ZaiZai seems like the usual cute, outgoing and cheerful FL who only aims to chase his ML, but boiii I was wrong! She has her own strength and that strength is actually ML's weakness. So both of them are standing equally!

And I also love RangRang's character development (from being aloof, awkward, caring in his own way, showing his love more daringly & bravely, to finally being confident enough to show their love to the world) .I'm also surprised that both of them knew each other's feelings and acted like lovers even before them being official lovers. Like RangRang always made sure ZaiZai would always be safe, feeling comfortable, well fed, always be happy, etc. He stepped outside of his comfort zones countless times just to see her smile. But little did he know that by doing that it also pushed him to be a better person that loves and appreciates his self first.

2nd Couple needs more scenes but I can't complain as the 1st couple's screen time is worth the entire episodes of the drama.. But I love how realistic their dynamic & development are. They successfully portrayed best friends turn into lovers with their bickerings, flirts, and finally the confession..

☑️Conclusion : Watch them as it will surely makes you smile, reminiscent and feeling energized to face what tomorrow brings..Very very recommended!!! 💖💖

One of the best school dramas!

The good:
- This is a great comfort watch. Showing growth from high school to working life. How the friends stuck together and pulled each other through.
- No long love triangles as the main couple is dedicated to each other and handles admirers appropriately.
- The 2nd couple is the best of any story. They are the classic tsundere relationship that grows to admire each other and their relationship takes longer to reach fruition but I was anxiously waiting every step of the way.

The bad:
- Really can't find any unless you're just not into school dramas.

A Warm Hug In Drama Format

This drama just quietly makes someone happy. It's one of those rare coming-of-age romances where the comfort is the point. There is no harshness. And what makes it truly beautiful is how gentle it is. The friendships feel real and the romance feels safe. And everyone genuinely wants the best for each other. I just saw friendship and romance at its purest form. There was no unnecessary toxicity or exhausting misunderstandings. Instead, it was just people growing up together and loving each other sincerely. The show never feels like it’s trying to manipulate you into feeling something extreme. It just quietly says these people care about each other, they communicate, they grow together
and love can actually feel peaceful. This one's gonna stay in my heart for a long time.

Butterflies, Good Vibes and Giddy Feelings All Over

Saying I love this drama is an understatement. It's just so beautiful.

I love how admiration, love, maturity, friendship, and relationships were portrayed here. I love how there's no big drama to ruin the relationship. It's just so beautiful. And I'm truly at loss for words on how much to share how this drama just made me overall so happy. The good vibes it gives is just enough to tell people to watch this masterpiece.

The story transported me back to the days wherein high school was truly a mix of fun, studies, and just giddying interactions with crushes and all that. Although not all high school love stories end up everlasting, the way the story was portrayed it was enough to just root for these couples.

The way she calls him Rang Rang will always be something that giddies me up. While it may be annoying if others do it, the way she portrayed her love and admiration through calling his name was just so sweet. Ahhhh~ this show gave me so much butterflies and love. I wish they made more shows like this.

"It was that glance, just that quick glance, that brought us together for life. "

God where do I even begin??? Honestly, this drama's alternative title should be "tooth rotting fluff". My heart felt warm and content watching this one. The sweet, heartwarming story with a super talented cast and the beautiful cinematography made it one of my all time favs. One thing I absolutely loved about this drama was that it didn't follow any cliches or stereotypes we usually see in these youth dramas such as dumb female lead, super smart 'perfect' male lead, stupid love triangle, main leads breaking up after high school etc etc. The male lead had his issues and insecurities and the female lead helped him slowly but surely sort them out, and I think that's amazing. Also loved how none of the main characters outshone one another. They all had their charms. Like, Gu Ran and Jiang Jia's love story deserves a drama on it's own and giving Guan Feng that backstory made him more than just a comic relief character. It's an adorable, bubbly drama about youth ,friendship and young love like no other. Definitely worth your time.

A beautiful, wholesome coming-of-age drama

I haven't finished watching this drama yet but I had to stop and just begin my review. This has been one of the most wholesome and sweet Cdramas I have ever watched. I loved the pure innocence of our 5 main leads and although I love the main couple so much, I love that it focuses on all 5 of them, with their own little story ARCs and their friendship. I'm excited to see them go onto the next stage of their lives, and honestly I'm getting sad that I'm approaching the end of this drama. It has been a wonderful watch and I've been smiling ear to ear for the most part of it. It also has only been 2 days and yet I'm about to finish it just because I didn't ever want to stop watching. I wish they had more episodes instead of just the short, 30 minute, 24 episodes that we get. I'm going to miss this little group of friends dearly and I think I'll find myself rewatching this drama quite a few times after I'm done.

EDIT:
I finally finished the remaining episodes!!! OMG!! I'm squealing and I'm over the moon, this was such a beautiful, cute, and sweet little story. I loved seeing our wonderful ML slowly but surely open up episode after episode as our little sun persistently melted all that ice. I really enjoyed seeing their full journey, really my only complaint is that we didn't have more episodes of them in their college/adult life. I also adored our second couple, and I think it was just a shame that they got together so late in the drama. And of course, we can't forget about Guan Fang, our adorable, loveable 5th wheel. His care and dedication to his grandma was so nice to see. This was such a wholesome and heartwarming drama, I just finished it, yet I just want to be able to go back and watch it again for the first time.
Also fun fact: Falling Into Your Smile was probably my top Cdrama before this and I've rewatched that so many times already but it looks like When I Fly Towards You might take that top spot. It was a joy to watch the outgoing, dedicated Ai Jia turn into a shy, cold, introverted ML. Anyways, I think that's enough to be said about this drama. If you're on the fence, please watch it, I don't think you'll regret it! Bye for now!(:
