perfect from start to finish
It actually breaks my heart for the series to end because I just wanted to keep going. It was cute and wholesome and nostalgic of high school life. It had enough conflict to push the story forward but not so much that it was stressful and overwhelming. Though set in high school, I’m grateful there weren’t many (if at all) stupid decisions and misunderstandings rooted in teenage angst and hormones. I could turn off my brain and just have fun watching how their life progressed through the different stages of growth. It’s the type of show I’ll pick up any day simply because it was just full of sunshine. Would recommend and would reward, for sure!PS: I can’t believe that Zhang Lurang here is Ai Jia from Falling Into Your Smile! His range is surprisingly amazing. 10/10 fr

my forever comfort drama
"Even if we're no longer young. Sun sets, but love remains. Your heart will still beat with pleasure when I fly towards you."Everything about this drama radiates healing, comfort, and love. It’s also so wave to earth and the ridleys coded, and I just love everything about this! Definitely the kind of drama I’d go back to whenever life gets hard.

"When I Fly Towards You" is one of those rare youth dramas that doesn't rely on over-the-top plots — it gently pulls you in with sincerity, warmth, and nostalgia. I watched it with my whole heart, and it truly became one of the best experiences I've had with a coming-of-age story.Zhang Lurang and Su Zaizai’s journey was warm and healing they never needed drama to be powerful, their love spoke through small gestures and unspoken understanding. Their whole journey when she needed him he was there when he needed her she was there they helped each other every single things was special, and the last episode I can't forget this his propose , their wedding it was so dreamy.
The friendship group was absolute gold. Gu Ran, with his cold exterior and secretly soft heart, and his relationship with Jiang Jia was so wholesome quiet, protective love that grew with care. They felt real, steady, and comforting. And Guang Fang? He was the sunshine of the group. His goofiness, pure-hearted loyalty, and emotional honesty added such balance and joy to every scene. Every friend felt like someone I knew or wished I had growing up.
Although all the episodes were so amazing but episodes 16, 19, and 24 hit me the hardest, it was really special I cried, laughed, and genuinely felt like I had been pulled back into my own school days. The emotional weight, the shy glances, the inside jokes, the silent support among friends it all made me miss the version of myself who still believed the world was that simple.
This drama didn’t just tell a story it gave me back a piece of my youth.🌷
Every person should watch it. I give it 100000/10.

What a lovely drama I enjoyed a lot from first to last episode so cute so sweet so lovable so admirable woah I want to go back to my youth again anyway I loved this drama a lot hopefully I want to see such dramas where female lead actors are not dummy and cold hearted male leads and female leads follows male lead but this drama wasn’t like that both were strong and cute personalities and second couple also had a great love story and chemistry and they waited for each other for so many years and yet finally they ended up together it’s good to marry a person who is best friend and other guy a friend was also done his role awesome way this story had a great friendship , love story, comedy, cuteness overloaded, dreams, achievements, marriage, students life, college life, work life hope they make more such dramas ❤all the best to the teamWas this review helpful to you?

I watched this because my friend recommended it to me. It had been a long time since the last time I watched a series, let alone a chinese one, but since she said it was her comfort drama, I gave it a shot. I ended up enjoying it a lot even though I had no expectations whatosever.I loved the cast. At first, I thought Zai would be your typical soft-hearted, weak, and pick me lead, and Lurang was a typical cold, arrogant male lead. But, despite Zai's soft character, I absolutely loved how she's assertive and she knows how to stand up for herself. She had her fair shares of embarrassing moments but not up to the point where you'll cringe hard. Lurang also turned out to be just a shy guy who doesn't know how to express himself, given that he came from a non-affectionate family. I love how their relationship started as well as the way it progressed. I love how there were no unecessary love triangle and how their arguments and misunderstandings were easily solved. It was realistic.
The supporting characters also did a great job! I love how they weren't one-dimensional characters who were just there for the plot. They were also given their own story worth watching and listeningto. The second couple was also lovable, in fact, I actually liked their trope more. They also had a strong chemistry. The relationship between the characters were well presented and I couldn't help but wish I had a friend group as strong as theirs.
Their story may not be that remarkable but personally, each episode made me crave for more. The only downhill for me here was the seemingly rushed ending because I still had questions — I wish we got to see a glimpse of the closure between Rang and his annoying mother, how they told their parents about their engagement, and their child! I wanted to see their child! I loved how we got to see their story that began in highschool until their work / married lives. This was a good balance between realistic and too-good-to-be-true of events.
Overall, this drama felt like a escape from reality, a breath of fresh air, and a reminder that there is a hope for tomorrow. I will forever love Rang's dialogue in the last episode!
Also, there's a rumor that the main leads would have an upcoming series again, I hope it's true! ^___^

When I Fly Towards You (Appreciation Review)
If you’ll ask me what youth-centered friendship, high school setting with nostalgic trip on the side, does have a beautiful ending and of course well-written CDrama that I can recommend, l’ll say When I Fly Towards You in a heartbeat.I started watching CDramas again after so many years and surprisingly I encountered my favorites this time. (Meet Yourself, Wifty, and The Love You Give Me).
When I Fly Towards You really encapsulates what I want on stories. Aside from having a fun set of friends that met during their youth that supports each other and treat everyone as their own family, I admire how everyone was so well written. From our lovely 5, to their classmates, parents, and precious grandma.
I was quite shock to encounter a FL that really speaks what’s on her mind and can communicate properly. She chase her ML earnestly and sometimes it’s cringey but that’s how teenage love moves — clumsy yet beautiful.
Su Zaizai is so well written that I always cry whenever she assures Zhang Lurang and protects her friends whenever. I read somewhere that if you’ll strip away the affection of FL/MLs to their counterparts, what would be their personality? Can they stand alone or just be a character that would revolve around his/her partner?
And I saw that Zai can stand alone and make her story regardless of having Rang. She has dreams of her own and stands for herself. There was this scene that they were preparing for college exam and they promised to be on the same university. But Zai assured him that it’s fine if they wouldn’t pass and be separated because they can make arrangements for their relationship.
I know it’s only 25 episodes and couldn’t show much conflict but they handled the jealousy, separation, and some problems beautifully. Rang doesn’t talk really much but he protects Zai and do whatever she wants as long as they would be happy. His acts of service with her words of affirmation really tops all of it.
I really also love how they incorporated the videos because the nostalgia sucks you up. Youth dramas are so beautiful as stand alone but having well-written characters is rare. I laugh and cried with them.
Also how can I forgot the beautiful conversations and well-thought lines. From grandma’s being fireflies or streetlight, Zai saying that Rang is 101%, it’s okay to be a second placer, or one’s existence can be meaningful to Rang saying that he unconsciously wait for her to look at him and became greedy along the way so he wants to be with her and ending it saying that Zai’s glance was a hint that his light was coming.
This is a brainrot because I don’t know if I can encounter again this kind of drama. I just kept on rewatching again everything because I love them.
FL really mastermind her way to ML and she succeed flying towards him.

Comfort ?
The tears I have cried while watching this drama… I’m lowkey in shambles, this was such a nice and heartwarming story about friendship, your first love, growing up and maturing😭😭 It brings a similar comfort like “Hidden Love” (same author I think), I had such a good time with the characters. The friendship between ZaiZai and co was so adorable and sweet, they supported each other unconditionally – those are friends of a lifetime🥹🥹. And Zhang Lu Rang… that man breathes acts of service as his love language. It was never not obvious that he liked Su ZaiZai – his eyes spoke more than a thousand words. She really brought him comfort and love and light and I just really loved them together as friends and then lovers. The fact that we got to see a little from Gu Ran and Guan Fang and their families was also a nice touch! And the fact that we got such a nice happy ending – just pure bliss to be honest, what a comfort show 🥹😭🌸Was this review helpful to you?

added to my checklist for the best youth drama ever. so happy we got a good youth drama aside from go ahead, a love so beautiful, river runs through it and lighter & princess 🥺 it's a drama that's truly been done so well. literally a no-skip drama, every ep and scene are perfect !! dialogues were very well-written too <3 and the way each ep ends with a clip from her camera and a note from her diary is soo cute 🥺🫶🏼 gonna miss this show smevery moments in this drama are so adorable. the relationship between the main lead couple and the second lead couple especially their friendship got me giggling, kicking my feet, and twirling my hair 😭 i love them so much u don't understand. PLUS THE CINEMATOGRAPHY !! so so so perfect 😩 there’s no words to explain how much this cdrama has effected my soul 😭😭 24 eps aren't enough!!! i need more 😭😭
overall, this drama is a whole other level!

If I could give you three words to describe this drama: Fluffy, Nostalgic and Heart-warming.From the outset, this drama adeptly embraces the nostalgia of youthful love and friendship while addressing the universal challenges of high school, resonating with the relatable emotions any teenager can understand. This drama is by far the best of it's kind - it offers a beautiful love story between the two leads ZaiZai and Lurang as well as a beautiful friendship between 5 friends who transition from high school to the complexities of adult life.
This drama offers no toxicity, break-ups or unnecessary fighting. It allows you to understand how beautiful young love is as well as how that love has to survive the harsh reality of growing up.
If fluffiness and incredible heart-warming moments is your kind of drama, then this is a 100% must watch!

OMG, I absolutely loved the movie! Its my first time to watch a romance and watch a c drama and I just finished watching it last night, and I'm still in awe! I wish I had known about it earlier, because I can't stop thinking about it! I dream about it all the time because it affected me so deeply. There are so many important lessons that I've learned from it. The most important one is: If something is meant for you, it will come at the right time. I hope the actor continues to work on more dramas like this! Every time I think about it, I can't stop smiling, and I also cry during the episode- part also it gives me butterflies in my stomach. This was the first chinese drama I watched, and it really set the bar high for the next shows on my list.If you're reading this thinking if you should watch it or not... please just do it. Everything about this show is amazing.
I particularly love that is focused not just on the main couple, but also on the whole friend group. You will literally love all of them. Hope you watch it and enjoy it as much as I did!
