almost dropped.. GLAD I DIDNT!!!!
Plot:🗯️A journalist is trying to save her dying column in a magazine and takes part in a scheme to fool an idol into giving her an exclusive interview.
Unfortunately they end up switching bodies and have to survive in their respective lives.
Let me tell you, I was about to drop this drama after 5 episode but I am so glad I didn't.
First few minutes of the drama hook you with a scene of two people breaking up but then the following 5 episodes are really sloooooly setting the dynamics in motion and I was getting bored as hell.
Moving forward I wasn't expecting a body switch. I didn't read the synopsis of this drama😅., so the tone switch came pretty unaspected but it becomes a fundamental plot device.
After episode 5 the drama becomes really engaging and I finally felt entertained till the very end, till the literal last episode which is something extraordinary for me.
This is a nice rom com made of cute moments (fortunately not cringe, heartfelt emotions and a nice feeling overall.
Positives:
-The actors definitely grew on me. I didn't like them at first but they did a very good job throughout the drama, especially with the body switch. They were "believable". The ml was especially cute. The FL was also great.
-The actors have good chemistry.
-Finally 2 adults that behave accordingly to their age when it comes to romance. I am kinda of sick of 30 years acting like kids.
-Good till the last episode.
-I liked the ml emotional development especially with his mom.
-No dumm cliches like FL falling into the ml arms.
-No filler scenes.
- the ml having his menstrual cycle 😅😅
-Negatives
I feel they should have switched bodies a bit later after showing on screen their lives a bit more making us feel more connected to their lives.
-They state stuff and never follow through with it. For example The article about that married couple, the interview with the other member of the group etc...
When they switched bodies the Second time it's dragged for too long.
-too many flash backs.
-the drama doesn't do an excellent job at tydying up lose threats. Some parts where a bit wishy washy. The third member of the group is cute but irrelevant, we never see them interact as idols, I still don't know why the 2 members didn't get along...
-Too many "I feel we are in a drama" jokes.
-The second ml was useless (poor lao gaO always catching strays😅)
-The asteroid influencing the body switch was a bit meh as an excuse 😅
- the second part of the last episode. I wish that wasn't I thing.. I think I took away a bit of my good mood. (no spoilers🤫)
Conclusions:
Definitely recommend this one. It's a bit hard to get into it but if you endure for 5 episode you'll get love, tears and a nice time.

Good entertainment
Things I love:- The body swapping was actually fun
- The relationship progression between the leads felt so right. They went from enemies to friends to lovers in such a green flag way. There weren’t any weird misunderstandings, and unnecessary angst due to miscommunications. Their bantering and connection with each other felt very real. Lastly, they trusted each other!
- Altho source of contention, the ML’s parents weren’t portrayed as caricatures of the evil parents. They came across as flawed human beings.
- The shitty co-worker isn’t a caricature and actually had a redeeming quality.
- I appreciated the commentary on how poorly women are treated in the industry in comparison to their male counterparts for doing the same
- I also appreciated the commentary on how toxic idol culture
- The relationship between FL and her bestie is very cute
- The 2ML was a sympathetic character but not enough to give you 2ML syndrome
- Funny side characters
Dislikes
- the PPL was too much. Sometimes it felt like entire episodes were dedicated to bestore and that cold medicine brand
- The middle was kind of draggy
- The conditions for their body swaps didn’t feel consistent
- The ending re-contextualices the love story in a way that makes it lose its impact. Just because something is fiction doesn’t mean the viewer’s expectations for a satisfying resolution goes out the window. If you want the perfect ending stop watching at 32:41

Warm Fuzzy Feelings
Something that cdramas do well is offer fluffy romance and make it really sweet. And the Day of Becoming You was no different in that respect. This drama is however exceptionally good because it went a bit beyond the fluff, letting us into the lives of the 2 main characters, what they fear, what they love about their lives and that builds up so that you have really great character development.I thought the plot was sooo interesting..I hadn't ever watched a body-swap drama and was expecting that aspect to fail but amazingly it was my favourite bit. The 2 leads in each other's bodies was absolutely hilarious! Stephen Zhang...oh my gosh is just a fabulous actor for pulling off the transitions so well that you could tell almost immediately tell that they had swapped. And thank you to the writer for sneaking in some positive body image and making satire off the fact that far too many men do not know how the female body works. I did think some of the acting was overdone when they swapped so that rather than having 2 lead characters, you had 4 but because it was so funny, I was quick to forgive this detail.
The chemistry between the leads was so great and they had such a cute healthy relationship. You also understood why they had to break up. But you know what's my absolutely favourite thing about this drama...that the ML planned out and waited 1 year to reunite with the love of his life....aaaaaaaaah! Excuse me as I go swoon!

The cast embodied their characters very well. Liang Jie and Zhang Xin Cheng interacted gracefully, providing an entertaining show with hints of pure emotion.
The direction led the drama with a satisfactory rhythm, the errors in the editing are few and it finished in a pleasant way, despite being perceptible a certain haste in the end.
The soundtrack is not bad, but the sound team was not very attentive, as there is a significant gap between the dialogue and the presence of the songs.

literally the best body swap drama
When I started watching the drama the first episode felt slow and boring and nothing out of ordinary but I still kept watching the show and just by the 2nd episode it picked up. I had so much fun watching this drama. The light humor throughout the drama was what kept it fresh. Plus kudos to both actors playing the main leads. Their acting was so on point that you could tell they were playing the same person and I loved that so much. Even the transitions as small as their eye or hand movements were so clean. I was so damn amazed by them. Their chemistry was great too. They are the ones that made this show exceptional. Aside that the plot was simple, there were no major problems. I came to like even the characters that I didn't quite like at first. I actually shipped the FL's best friend and Pei Jia Shu too. Their backstory was cute.So to sum it up. I loved the show and I'd definitely watch it again and recommend it to everyone else.

Do yourself a favor and watch all but the last 11 minutes
This would have been great and checked almost all my boxes for an easygoing drama, except they didn't finish the storylines for the side characters then they went wonky with the end - don't get me wrong it still ends happily ever after, which is a requirement for me to watch. I just feel like they threw a curveball at the end that didn't contribute anything to the story and left me with a confused wtf expression and questions that will never be answered. I liked the little world they built , it would have been better if they just ended ep 26 at 32:42 then I wouldn't be wondering what was actually real. Was this review helpful to you?

Good drama with nice OST, acting but...
I was baffled by the ending! I was so excited by Steven Zhang and Liang Jie (I love them btw) and watch since it premier, and chase it but the ending is so disappointing. Up to the last 20mins!It was a promising fantasy story about celebrity love, old classmates-turned-friend, annoying female lead turned friend, no third party. It was a drama focusing on just the leads. The plot was good. When you think you got it figured, it throws you off the grid again and hook you in. While you are figuring out how the exchange of bodies work and how they address how it can happen... The last 20mins tells you that the previous 21 episodes are just a... narration to a story?
Please... I need someone to tell me I don't invest in getting my heart broken for the supporting characters. I want to see the relationship between the second lead!! And I did watch the ending a few times to set me back on track. It is just so absurb? Like reading an engaging story and it was just a dream.
That aside, the OST and acting is too good! I love the soft OST, it has a korean ballad feel to it and suits the theme so much. And also Steven's acting!! He portrayed a girl so well that you can instantly know if he has switched body or not even without any dialogue. If there's any consolation, it will probably be Steven's acting lol. It was good to the last 20mins of the whole series.
What do you mean its just a novel??? Did I miss something out in the first 10mins?

Be ready to have a good time
Warning: If you are drinking water please don't do that while watching this cause you will surely chokeWere body-swapping romcoms always this hilarious? Zhang Xin Cheng ogling at his abs is just a teaser to the onrush of comedy. There’s the walnuts, their Auntie visiting, the belly rubs, and Mr. Two Box.
For a good half of the drama, the comedy outshone the romance and honestly, I was satisfied with the romance being just cute.
The drama starts off a little slow where I doubted if this had a plot other than body-swapping. It does! The writing and transitions between the scenes and theme are clever too.
And be prepared for the ending!
Being a fangirl myself i would say this drama is kind if a dream(though it has a a touch of fantasy) but we fangirls always dream so while watching this i just couldn't stop blushing at times because of my high imaginary senses LMAO!
Anywayd i am sure you will enjoy ut
Also the OSTS i have to mention it Steven Zhang and Liang Jie not only ruled the acting but also the osts like i am in love with the music too.

Best Confession Scenes in ANY Drama
So so good. Honestly has THE BEST swoon-worthy confession scenes I’ve seen in ANY drama. So sweet and authentic, no cringy lines just well-written and unique. The body-swap seems too far-fetched yes, BUT it’s so well done and hilarious, and really is such a good message in the end. The chemistry (and comedy!) and the way it all comes together in the end makes this one of my favorites!Only left me with one question, where did the little sister go? I was looking forward to that reunion so was a little sad about that.
I just love this writers style and hope to see more from them, Go Ahead and Meet Yourself are top of my lists and worthy of rewatching over and over!

Best body swap drama
This drama was really good, the whole body swapping was done very, you can truly tell when they switched, there personality, speech and conduct when swapped was on point,I really have to give props to the ML and FL they both did a great job with this concept. The chemistry and kissing scenes were great, soo sweet, its real kisses too lool, you could see the passion and love between leads.
I did read some comments regarding the ending, and also read it's because of passing the censorship in China, not sure how true that is, but if that's the case its very understandable and i personally have no complaints about it.
The drama got a tiny bit draggy, but tbh not for a long time, its very very minimal, but the comedy, you'll surely laugh out loud with some of these scenes and with the acting, I enjoyed it soo much, great laughs so i have no regrets.
I recommend the drama for those who love romcom, it's sooo funny and the romance is sooo sweeet, hmm... hahaha cheers to the MC

I loved the sound effects
A FUNNY DRAMA I LOVED THE ACTING!! The actors are the best when they switched bodies and it didn't too much. The sound effects was the best in this drama ever. If you wanna see something fun this is a good comedy, i recommend it for sure!!Also, the plot was interesting and has a lot of fantasy from the moment that exists body swapping. The cold character of man and the warmth of this woman was a beautiful love story for sure! The relationship between fan and idol also has meaning because he loved her for the warmth that she gave to him !!

Another gender bender trope with a good story.
This is a series about two opposites attracted to each other with a lot of comedic relief, side of drama and just enough soul swapping.I liked:
-the way the series focused on the life of idols outside the limelight. Their daily lives and the reality that not everyone in a group or band have a good personal relationship.
-they showed a contrast of a well loved child and an abandoned child nicely. We can't choose our parents but we can choose our friends. Jiang Yi didn't have much growing up he has his manager/best friend who has his back.
-the rationalized fangirling of the besties Tong Tong and Shang Shang. Not all fangirls are cray cray . They know and accept that their idols are human.
-the line between gossip and responsible writing. Although the series didn't dive much into it, they clearly placed a line how an entertainment writer is different from a paparazzi or a gossip writer.
- The writer wrapped up the story of how Jiang Yi's family broke up and how Shang Shang helped him heal his scars.
I didn't like the lack of background to Tong Hua and Pei Shu they showed a bit of their past but it was not enough to conclude of they had feelings for each other or Pei Shu had feelings for her. We are left to assume how we perceive their relationship.
It had the same vibe as the series don't disturb my study. We are watching a story within a story. In DDMS though it was not the FL who wrote the story.
All in all I like the ending showing it was a story made up by the FL to help her understand the ML and the reason why the relationship almost didn't work for them. We do need to be able to emphatize with others and symphatize since we all have different stories to tell and have different dreams and goals and to find that other person who understands and accepts you as you is hard in real life.
The series has a lot of funny moments that balances the drama. I liked the sound effects used in the series than the osts. Lols.
LJ and SZ are both good with their roles but SZ shined brightly when their souls were swapped. I have seen LJ in Eternal Love and I must say she kinda developed her knack with the soul swap thing but compared to SZ he really nailed the nuances of the FL. The rest of the actors did well in their roles too.
Would definitely rewatch this.
