The ultimate BL storyline, acting, and directing collection that I've been waiting for
This is the BL drama I've been waiting for! The acting, direction, story, and cinematography are all a perfect 10/10. The chemistry between the leads, Sun and Peace, is phenomenal, and even the supporting cast is full of charm.I especially love how the show perfectly blends the romance with a gritty gang-warfare plot—it's so satisfying! This series is the sole reason I’ve paid for WeTV for three months. An absolute must-watch!

WAY TOO UNDERRATED!
This show actually knocked me off my feet!It’s so underrated. I can’t believe I almost didn’t watch it. It has got to be the best one this year so far - and I have watched a LOT of 2025 BL shows.
I wasn’t so shocked with some of the plot twists and a few definitely had me gasping - but what I was not expecting was that last reveal!
It’s way too underrated and I can’t wait for season 2! The cast did a fantastic job!
And hats off to the Korean actors too cause acting in a different language cannot be easy, but they were able to convey their emotions through it - especially the second lead. Just bravo!

It's good
Mafia/gang style kinda show with an interesting plot. It looks promising to be honest.At first i thought i wouldn't like it but after watching 2 episodes I must certainly am on the hook. If you enjoyed Kinnporche, Jack and Joker or even Highscool Frenemy then you would probably like this new title. Give it a change. It might surprise you aswel

The bangkok boy and the korean boy ?
This is my first time writing a review, it's just so good that I can't stop recommending it to everyone, it's sad that the series is so underratedThe acting and the story+ the action scenes are so good. The chemistry between the couple is so beautiful, if you haven't watched it yet you are missing a masterpiece 😔

The Korean Daddy
Started well but veered off to low budget land. Final rating 6/10.Ep 4 - the romance is heating up, some nice chemistry hapenning and the story is developing but I can sense some tears are coming!

Still a lot of negative comments and low ratings and Indefinitely know some sre from seeing the dubbed version which is terrible, so people just watch the WeTV version only trust me it’s like a normal BL series, the dubbed version has got lots of terrible sound issues.
Hmm 3 eps in and it’s middle of the road for me.
I see a lot of comments that people are confused as to why this hasn’t been doing very well and why it’s not well known. I think we have to remember that some series get backing through their marketing campaigns and some series actually put a huge budget towards promoting the series through many different avenues and media types, promoting the lead actors, live appearances, sponsors and marketing the OST. Without that kind of backing it has to rely on word-of-mouth and online activity which can only get you so far. Without some serious coin it has to fall back to the cast, production value and word of mouth. But these need to be done extremely well. There are many smaller budget BLs that have achieved this so it’s not impossible.
I also think the semi dubbed version that was released was seen without knowing about the Gaga version like me so at first I woukd have given this a very low rating.
It is still early days for this one so who knows.
Likes: script is pretty good with an interesting grass roots bad boy done good storyline.
Not so much: some minor issues, the sound and background music is more like a background concert so over emphasises/overbears the scene. Acting is solid in parts then drops. Casting 43 yo for 28 yo is just too far a reach. Major issue for me is the editing, many earlier Thai BLs struggled with this and they still haunt me so I’m getting those kinds of flashbacks lol.
Outcome: I’ll keep watching, the story is too intriguing and Korean daddy is daddy’ing 🤣.

A great Shakespeare adaptation of "Romeo & Juliet"
How would the love story of Romeo & Juliet have unfolded if the action had taken place in the mafia milieu of modern-day Bangkok? "The Bangkok Boy" provides the answer. A dark, action-packed story that's also fun to watch as an adult. For me one of the best BL series of 2025 so far and the best Mafia BL series since "KinnPorsche".Was this review helpful to you?

Could've been better, after ep 2 it seems to get better
To be honest, the plot is interesting and good, some actors are better than others, still, the fighting scene wasn't so good at watching especially after i watched something better choreographed like weak hero class, anyway:Its not bad, but it was awful to watch the english dub, better a less powerful accent than a voice who sounds fake, the son was good in that father son scene with the english, at least its not awful the acting in general.
They shouldve worked more on the choreography, and more acting class for some of them.
I have to admit first episode was not satisfacting like the other two, ep 3 is actually very beautiful,
must continue to follow this series.

Pouco romance e muita pancadaria
The Bangkok Boy não é aquele BL tradicional que a gente tá acostumada, e pra ser bem honesta, nem acho que seja justo chamar de BL do jeitinho clássico. A série é violenta, tensa, carregada de adrenalina e com uma trama cheia de vingança, lealdade, máfia e aquele caos que a gente ama quando é bem feito. E sim, o romance existe, mas está longe de ser o foco. E honestamente? Eu nem senti falta.A história começa com o Sun saindo da prisão depois de cumprir pena pelo assassinato do próprio amigo, um crime que ele nem cometeu, diga-se de passagem. A partir daí, ele decide reconstruir a sua gangue de amigos e se vingar de quem destruiu a vida dele. Enquanto isso, o Peace, filho de um chefão mafioso que quer sair dessa vida podre, acaba no meio da guerra entre gangues. O caminho dos dois se cruza e, aos poucos, a relação deles começa a se transformar, mas é um processo lento. Não espere beijo no primeiro episódio nem romance meloso, porque não tem nada disso. O que tem é tensão, mágoa, mente quebrada, cicatrizes e desconfianças.
Sun e Peace funcionam muito bem juntos, mas não como aquele casal que te faz suspirar. Não é romance que guia a história, é a violência, a ambição, as perdas. E isso foi o que mais me chamou atenção, a série não tenta forçar o afeto, e quando ele aparece, tem peso. É mais sobre confiança do que sobre beijo.
Agora, preciso comentar: o roteiro tem momentos brilhantes, mas também dá umas escorregadas. Algumas decisões dos personagens parecem precipitadas, outras mal explicadas. Tem cena que aparece do nada e fica por isso mesmo, principalmente com personagens secundários, alguns somem sem a gente saber pra quê existiram. E certas partes do enredo exigem uma boa dose de paciência pra entender o vai e vem de quem traiu quem e por quê. Ainda assim, a série consegue manter o ritmo.
A ação é intensa, mas às vezes exagerada. Algumas cenas de luta são bem coreografadas, outras parecem saídas de novela das oito com câmera lenta dramática demais. Ainda assim, funciona porque a série e não tem medo de ser feia, suja e difícil de assistir.
Mas o que realmente me derrubou foram os últimos episódios. Quando você acha que já entendeu o jogo, vem uma sequência de reviravoltas que simplesmente explodem sua cabeça. O passado do Sun, as verdadeiras intenções por trás dos conflitos, a forma como a série coloca todos os personagens em xeque, foi bem bom. E o gancho final? Cruel. Eu terminei gritando sozinha, implorando por uma segunda temporada. Eles não podem deixar aquilo em aberto, simplesmente não podem.
No fim das contas essa série não é pra quem quer romance fofo. Não tem beijo de tirar o fôlego, nem declarações de amor fofinha. Tem violência, lealdade duvidosa, morte e cicatrizes. Mas se você curte uma história densa, cheia de camadas, com personagens quebrados tentando encontrar algum sentido no meio do caos… essa série entrega até que bem.
Pra mim, valeu demais. Mesmo com tropeços, é uma boa série.

Destruction, sauvetage et liberté…
The Bangkok Boy ne perd pas de temps et nous plonge directement dans son univers où les gangs s'affrontent. Violente et dynamique, l'histoire se met en place et fait mal dès le premier épisode. C'était suffisant pour que j'en redemande la semaine suivante…Après plusieurs années en prison, Sun a eu le temps de nourrir sa rage et sa soif de vengeance. Enfin libre, il redécouvre les quartiers dans lesquels il a grandi et qu'il reconnaît à peine, les choses ont changé. Le destin met sur sa route Peace, un sud-coréen qui semble vouloir être partout sauf en Thaïlande. L'attirance est palpable, bien que distante. Aimer est dangereux, notamment pour eux. Pourtant, les sentiments se développent. C'est une relation complexe, mais cohérente avec une forme de douceur dans un monde qui ne laisse pas (ou peu) de place à la tendresse.
Les antagonistes sont détestables, dont certains bien développés. J'entends par-là qu'ils ne sont pas bêtement méchants parce que c'est cool. Il y a un développement solide quant à ce qu'ils sont, ce qu'ils font et ce qu'ils deviennent. En y regardant de plus prêt, le futur de certains est écrit depuis le premier épisode. Ils sont cohérents.
L’ensemble du casting est excellent : personnages principaux, secondaires et autres. D’habitude, les séries coréennes-thaïlandaises ne me plaisent pas. Je n’arrive pas à m’immerger lorsque deux personnages ne parlent pas la même langue, mais agissent comme s’ils se comprenaient. Ici, les choses sont faites différemment et apportent la cohérence qu’il manque aux autres productions. Pour faire simple, Sun est thaïlandais, Peace est sud-coréen. Ensemble, ils parlent thaïlandais. Lorsque Peace est avec son père, il parle coréen. C’est cohérent et ça amène une touche supplémentaire aux luttes mises en place dans l’histoire.
Il y a de l'action avec des scènes de combats dynamiques et bien chorégraphiées. Elles sont bien filmées et sans bruitages absurdes. Certaines scènes sont violentes, il n'est donc pas conseillé aux personnages qui y sont sensibles. La fin est ouverte et laisse pas mal de place pour une seconde saison (le final semble avoir été pensé de la sorte). S'il ne devait pas y avoir de suite, il me manquerait quelque chose, la fin me laisse ni satisfaite, ni insatisfaite pour le moment (évidemment, c'est personnel).
En bref, The Bangkok Boy est un drama qui mêle violence, gangs, trafics, convictions familiales et amour dans un monde où ce dernier n'a pas tellement sa place. Aussi destructeur que libérateur, aimer est un choix risqué qui peut parfois être la rédemption qu’on attendait.

Eu fui assistir essa série sem muita pretensão e os primeiros episódios me surpreenderam, mas da metade pro final não sei o que rolou que eu estava cansada da história e só queria que acabasse. O final então no qual eles só encerraram um núcleo que foi o do pai do uke e deixou o resto tudo aberto pra ter continuação, olha, se voltar em uma segunda temporada eu não vou assistir não. Quem quiser assistir eu recomendo, acho que vale a experiência.Nota 7/10!

Por que The Bangkok Boys não hipou?
The Bangkok Boys é uma série com alguns problemas de roteiro, incluindo o clássico “poder do protagonismo”, protagonista fraco e mal desenvolvimento de histórias secundárias, mas de certa forma os plots, as atuações e a parte técnica acabam por superar esses problemas de roteiro.Analisando a série em quesito técnico, percebemos como ela se destaca com uma bela fotografia urbana, trazendo uma Bangkok mais crua para o telespectador, o que conversa diretamente com o enredo da história. Por isso, é importante destacar que, se você está indo assistir The Bangkok Boys para ver um romance, acho que você acabou se enganando. O desenvolvimento do casal principal é deixado de segundo plano, o que não é uma coisa ruim. Com tantos acontecimentos importantes acontecendo na história, não faria sentido o casal principal estar em mil amores, então o desenvolvimento deles acaba por ser mais lento, mas no tempo certo. Falando agora de atuações, que para mim, é o grande destaque da série, temos os vilões que abrilhantaram a série, vilões fortes, carismáticos, inteligentes e bem construídos. As escolhas dos atores foram excelentes, eles fizeram um ótimo trabalho indo de cenas básicas a cenas com altas cargas dramáticas sem parecer forçado ou engessado.
A respeito do gancho para uma segunda temporada, achei inteligente, apesar de não gostar de segundas temporadas, mas ainda existe muita história para contar, o Sun agora é um lobista, Aim e Jihoon agora comandam o negócio do Sr. Joe, eles não saíram do ciclo, eles apenas recuaram, o final dessa história não caberia em um ep de 50 minutos, então me sinto ansiosa para o que virá no futuro.
Em quesitos gerais, é uma série muito boa e que foge do padrão de BLs produzidos pela Tailândia, história boa, atores excelentes, fotografia bem feita, plot de tirar o fôlego e construção e continuidade muito bem feitas. Então pq apesar de tudo isso The Bangkok Boys não foi tão comentada? A resposta é bem simples: não existia nenhum ship fixo na série. Ano passado tivemos uma proposta um pouco semelhante a The Bangkok Boys, que foi Jack e Joker, que teve um hipe absurdo e foi até considerado o melhor bl de 2024, mas que facilmente perde comparado a The Bangkok Boys em quesitos gerais de avaliações. Mas isso nunca será aceito porque os protagonistas, casal já fixo, têm um fandom mais consolidado que consumirá independente de o bl for bom ou ruim. Então é importante destacar que a Tailândia tem sim se aventurado em novos gêneros de Bls, mas a bolha que consome não está de fato preocupada com uma boa produção, pois só será relevante caso seu ship fav esteja nesse projeto.
(Não estou levantando hater para os meninos de Jack e Joker, eu adoro os divos e consumo suas produções, mas acima de tudo eu sempre vou separar obra de atores).
