Sweet but a little bland
This show had some sweet moments to it, but ultimately it felt to me like there wasn't much of a point. There really wasn't much character development besides them falling in love. Even the female lead went from being a NEET (completely unconvincingly by the way, she had no problems going outside except getting lost once) to full-on house wife in a few minutes, which in my eyes is a lateral move, not really progress. And it happened way to fast to feel like it meant something. The rest of the show is just random obstacles or one of the characters starting to have emotions and then everyone gets concerned until they talk about it and then the conflict is over.By the way, this would all be forgivable if the main character had enough chemistry or charisma (the female lead almost does sometimes, but the male lead was the most nothing performance I've ever seen), but instead they do the jdrama thing of just being polite instead of in love. Like "Ah, excuse me, I'd like to cordially inform you that I love you." "Ah yes, I am most grateful and would agree that I too, am in love with you." Like, come on! Can you make, like a single, joke!? Tease each other? Something!?
Anyway. I'm being harsh, but it's not the worst show in the world. I did finish it, after all. But in my eyes it's not really a lock-in and get invested kind of show, more of a put it on in the background while you're working kind of show. If you're looking for that, sure I'll recommend.

Short and Sweet!
10/2/2021This is a very short and sweet drama. I would recommend this for someone who wants to watch something light-hearted and short. It's also a good palate cleanser after watching something intense or tragic. There are not villains, no jealous ex or love triangle, and no misunderstanding. It's an easy watch.
Since it's an adaptation from a webtoon, you will need to suspend reality and know that this is about the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Protection Act. A NEET is basically someone unemployed and not contributing to society. Our FL is a NEET and our ML is a government official who is assigned to marry our FL as the first trial subjects of the NEET Protection Act.
Even though our FL is shy and innocent, she is not dumb. She's just not used to socializing. She is not afraid to ask questions or speak up if needed, and is not so naive that she would make stupid decisions. She's sweet and kind. A lovely girl that you want to root for her happiness. The leads look good together and they have many cute and heartwarming scenes. The whole drama revolves around their marriage and how they fall in love with each after getting married. I love the happy and sweet ending.
Because the drama is so short, I feel that there are elements that weren't explained or explored enough. I would like to see more of the struggles and uneasiness in the beginning of marriage. The acceptance from FL and the falling in love seem to happen too fast. ML supposedly doesn't believe in marriage and wasn't really in love when he was in a 4-year relationship with his ex. Yet, he seems to fall in love quite fast with FL. I also feel that the issue with the magazine resolved too quickly.
I personally enjoy the marriage contract trope, so I will give it a solid 8.0 and because it's what I needed at the moment.
p.s. why are Jdoramas ratings always so much lower than K-dramas and C-dramas??

A super cute, quick moving drama
This series was really cute. However, I do think it could have contained more content. There was only a cheek kiss (Come on, we know we wanna see the smooching!) but other then that, it was very wonderfully done. It moved a bit fast, but for being 10 episodes, that's expected. It was pretty cute, and it's actually nice to see the male protagonist fall for the female for once, normally it's the other way around.I recommend if you want a quick watch, as you can absolutely binge this in a day. It was fun, silly, and full of life. A super cute "rainy day" drama.

Heart warming and so sweet
This drama has a story that can be said to be interesting and very good, I don't really like most dramas because it's too exaggerated and the problems are too long-winded but for this I really like it. a story that can be said to be heartwarming from the main character to protect and love each other. there is no part that makes me cringe, all of them are well defined, the storyline is also interesting, the drama cast also plays well and is compact. This drama makes me want to watch it to the end in one day and I don't regret it at all. if you guys want to watch this drama I highly recommend it I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Was this review helpful to you?

I like It for no reason.
This series is not something superb, however, it was able to connect to me as a viewer. It does not have superb acting, powerhouse cast, or complicated story line but it really got my attention for some unknown reason. It totally captured me. This, for me, is one character a good series should possess. You just like it for no good reason. Lol!The story is light, sweet, humble with realistic reasoning. I mean, the story did not have to go through a series of misunderstanding, so much pain, self pity and so on to establish a good plot. Most of the drama series Ive watched uses this ever so popular and effective but old "Misunderstanding" trick to stir its viewers emotion. Most of them succeeds in doing so but also alot failed. I mean, if I decide to rewatch this series, I can play it all without skipping those "bad" parts. You know what I mean, Lol!
One other thing I also like about this series are the Leads. They were simply made for this series. Their relationship was sweet and warm, though it was unstable in the beginning. A timid FL and a reasonably thinking ML, good combination.
I ofentimes assume something bad or a misunderstanding or jealousy will happen whenever I see a new character appered in an episode. But the writers handled it well. I ended up making false assumption myself, Lol!
I can say that a beatiful relationship does not need to have a good start or planned. Sometimes it can be coming from an unexpected or from an unwanted situation. And oftentimes the ones with a bad start usually last longer, would you agree? Lol!
The first JDrama that I really like was Perfect World. Now I have 2 in my "I Really Like JSeries" list. Searching for my 3rd. Lol!
Enjoy watching!

A warm series to watch on a cold winter night
A series where a civil worker who does not want to get married was chosen as the primary test subject in the NEET Protection Law. Tasked to be paired and be married to a NEET named Sawamoto Himari (Kumada Rinka), Akiyasu Shin (Seto Toshiki) starts to navigate his new life and uncovers what the meaning of family is, what falling in love is, and what it means to cherish those around him. All this while revising the so-called "law" that he and Himari were forced to follow.Overexaggeration is sometimes good and needs to be executed properly for it not to leave a bitter taste in the audience's mouth, and Marry Me! delivered quite well. Paired with its proper placement of comedic timing, Marry Me! will leave you wanting the series to keep going past episode 10. The title etched on the book will have its way in the final episode and, just like me, will make you feel satisfied and cozy, like a warm fire on a cold winter night.
Have a go at this 10-episode series. Who knows? You might wish for the law to come true.

Sweet and Wholesome
The story is simple. Their marriage is arranged but their interactions felt very natural. Nothing cliche. It’s short; very typical of a Japanese drama. I wish there were more episodes. But although it’s short, it doesn’t feel rushed at all.
Overall, it’s a pleasant drama recommended for those looking for something that can lighten up their mood after a busy and stressful day.
Story - marriage arranged by the government is weird but it fits the story well
Acting/Cast - good, especially the FL (she’s cute too)
Music - love the soundtrack
Rewatch Value - it’s something I would want to watch when I’m feeling down

A Surprisingly Warm Love Story I Didn’t Expect to Love
I went into *Marry Me!* with very low expectations. The story sounded, honestly, a little ridiculous on paper. The idea that a complete stranger would show up, marry you, and simply decide to take care of you as social experiment? In real life, that would be alarming. Wild. Probably even uncomfortable. But because it’s adapted from a manga, I told myself to suspend disbelief. In that world, unusual premises are part of the charm. What I didn’t expect was how warm and comforting it would feel. Instead of turning the concept into something creepy or awkward, the drama treats it with softness. The relationship doesn’t feel forced or strange, it unfolds gently. And I think the reason it works so well is entirely because of the actors. They didn’t play it in a weird or exaggerated way. They didn’t make it feel unsettling, instead they brought sincerity to it. Their performances grounded the story, making something that could have felt absurd turn into something surprisingly touching.
There’s a quiet sweetness to the way they interact; small gestures, hesitant smiles, growing trust. It feels natural, not dramatic for the sake of drama. And that’s what makes it work.
I genuinely didn’t think I would enjoy it this much. But by the end, I found myself smiling at the screen, appreciating how something so simple and unusual turned into such a comforting little love story. Sometimes the most unexpected dramas end up being the ones that stay with you the longest.

Perfect for a cosy watch
If you are looking for something to de-stress and relax with, this is a perfect drama to watch. The episodes are surprisingly shorter than expected but the story is tightly packed and paced. The main couple are perfect together. It's just overall a nice watch and though the premise might sound weird if you only read the synopsis, the drama has managed to approach it in a sensitive and realistic manner. I like that it stayed simple and sweet all the way. I really love the song that comes up at the end with the sweet couple montage.Slight Spoiler:
Although the female lead has come out and integrated with society by the end, I would have liked it more if they showed her getting a job and wilfully getting out of her house, even just bit by bit. I thought that would be part of the process of finding happiness for herself. It would have been nice if they had shown how with the knowledge that she has people who loves her and won't leave her, she gained the courage to take risks by exposing herself more to the outside world.
======================================================
End of Spoiler*
That was a more personal preference but overall this drama managed to deliver a sweet story and conclusion that have been lacking in a lot of dramas this year. Nothing overly complicated or too ambitious. It's a drama you can watch whilst snuggled up in a blanket with your comfort food and cosy socks on whilst it's freezing outside.

It's ok.
This is -contrary to the premise- a very simple feelgood story with very few annoyances. Though at the same time it's super shallow & despite the format it feels too slow as well. Also everything that is typically wrong with Japanese romance content is also present in this show. I watched Shanai Marriage Honey just the other day & that was a lot better, that's what gave me the courage to try another similar Japanese drama after years of avoiding them, but this is super cringe compared to your average c/k drama, which is saying something. So yes, in a vacuum this okay -not great-, but partly due to my personal biases & jculture fatigue I think I'll continue avoiding these in the future.
