Clichés, clichés and more clichés

Very fun drama to watch on days when you don't want to tire your mind with heavy and dramatic stories. Classic romantic kdrama with rich ceo ML and ordinary girl FL. And of course there is a 2nd ML just not interesting as it usually is. And as I said in the title, it's very cliche story, but done right so it doesn't get to boring personally.
What I didn't like is how toxic dating is. ML forces FL into relationship (literally by contract lol), forcefully kisses her without consent and its a classic narcissistic guy who changes because of her. The second romantic pair also doesn't sit right with me. They have one night stand, comunication is of course nowhere to be seen and engaged within 2 months!
Not rewatching any time soon tho. It gets repetitive after a while. Good thing it only has 12ep, not 16. But overall, it's a fun drama.

Finally, after a decade, this drama trumped my previous favorite Korean drama. It contains all my favorite tropes: Rich man/poor woman, Cold man/warm woman, Contract Relationship, Enemies to Lovers. It's like WWWSK without the annoying secondary couple. Ahn Hyo Seop gives Lee Young Joon vibes as Kang Tae Moo, and is quirky as the workaholic and aloof chaebol. But Kim Se Jeong is amazing as the duplicitous Shin Ha Ri who pretends to be her BFF to get her said BFF out of blind dates. Kim Se Jeong is adorable as the ardent food researcher and funny as the fake Young Seo and she plays both characters well.

The situations that Ha Ri find herself in are hilarious and Tae Moo's unusual responses to her antics make for comedy gold. ABP is rom-com done right, and is lighthearted despite all the clichés. The secondary couple isn't too shabby either, and their story is also endearing. Other characters are also multi-dimensional, and I especially liked Tae Moo's grandfather who is a hoot. Love, love this drama.

Mood Boosting Fun Time

If you're looking for a mood boosting fun time, you've come to the right place!

❤ I'm pretty sure you will see a picture of Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Se Jeong if you look up the word "chemistry" in the dictionary. Also probably Kim Min Gue and Seol In Ah. All of these actors had spades of chemistry with each other, and I was here for it.

❤ The friendships between the characters were literally everything. I loved how the best friends of the main characters have their own utterly beautiful romance.

❤ Kim Se Jeong as Shin Ha Ri was riveting. Someone likened her to Emma Stone, and I 100% agree. She played Ha-ri with such charm and vulnerability that I couldn't help but fall in love with the actress and the character.

❤ The supporting cast was absolutely brilliant. Even the characters with little screen time somehow made their scenes shine.

❤ The last episode was a bit disappointing. I felt like the show back peddled on some of the smart decisions made by characters to make it seem more "drama" filled than it needed to be. I perhaps might have enjoyed it more if I had not been watching it live - I think my expectations became too big with the wait between episodes.

Hilarious office romance

Hilarious office rom-com and the spiritual successor to “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” A woman goes on a marriage-prospective blind date with a chaebol heir in place of her friend, with the intent to scare him off. The man is 100% work-focused and figures that if he just marries the first woman he meets, then he won’t have to waste time on further blind dates, right? Additional complication: He’s the president of the company she actually works for at her day job, which means that they could run into each other at…any…time. Cue “avoid him at all costs” hijinks.

The female lead is hilarious. The secondary couple is equally, if not more adorable than the lead couple, and I could happily set up camp and live in the secondary male lead’s dimples. Friendship between the female lead and her absolute warrior queen BFF is affirming and life-giving and makes me appreciate my empowering female friends so very much. The male lead’s drama-loving (and drama-causing) grandpa is my favorite, and I would pay a substantial amount of actual money to see an entire special episode consisting solely of scenes between Drama Grandpa and Chaotic Female Lead.

All well that ends well

Business Proposal is your typical office rom-com with employee boss love affair that starts on a wrong note, but eventually gets synched by the end. What works with Business proposal are the characters, and I mean both the couples.

I won't say this is the best rom-com in the recent times that I have seen, given that there were innumerable cliche points, however Business proposal still proves to be effective with it's charming characters and the comedy moments that happens time and time again.

Kim Se Jeong was too good and adorable to watch. The drama didn't only shown relationship of a couple, but a strong bromance and womance throughout the show. The soundtrack was decent that matched well with the moments.

To summarise, Business Proposal is a delightful drama that minimizes weighty issues and major conflicts in favor of a comfortable plot and endearing characters. Plus, there are two lead couples worth rooting for. Although it's not the best I have seen, but it's worth a watch.

My Rating : 7.5/10

Best Rom Com Ever.....Very cute and funny. So many cliche tropes but they executed it well. the Kang Tae moo is confindence and cold but not rude....the posture and gesture is very CEO like, AHS really pay attention to the detail... although sometimes i feel he should loosen up a little. Shin hari is brave and not dumb, she really carried the show. her facial expression is great
everything about the cast is great. i can feel their chemistry and friendship on or off the screen. i just wish they added more episodes to make a better ending.

Really Sweet!

I have a lot of positive things to say about A Business Proposal. Perhaps I should first of all make out that the series isn’t supposed to be overly original or new. It’s a cliche premise of the hardworking female lead meets the uptight CEO but there are some surprisingly different takes on the cliche which didn’t feel overly enforced or boring.

I have loved most of Ahn and Kim’s previous projects and so to seem them starring side by side was really sweet. I also want to give a special mention to rising actor Kim Min Gue who played second ML Cha Sung Hoon. His performance was really captivating alongside his onscreen chemistry with Seol In Ah.

Maybe my few downsides did come with limited screen time. There were a lot of things going on here with characters which just weren’t taken any further after their mention. ( Such as the whole issue with In Ah moving out and her relationship with her dad, or Sung Hoon’s circumstances.) Maybe it’s just me but it felt as though it could’ve been a really easy thing to fix if the screen time had been spread better. ( Especially the ending. It was rushed.)

Overall not a bad show. Really sweet and fluffy but if that’s what you’re looking for then you will like it.

A Perfect Execution of Classic Tropes

As is the trend in kdramas throughout history, this show could be described by some as a collection of tropes, strung together to create a coherent narrative. Usually, that's the sort of thing I really despise, but the way they pulled it off in this show lends me some sympathy. Excellent acting, efficient humor, and an engaging plot line makes this a most effective guilty pleasure. It also helps that they took the liberty to innovate here and there and was ever so slightly more progressive than some of its older counterparts. For those familiar with the kdrama scene, there isn't much more to say.

The Korean drama industry has come a long way over the decades, and that is apparent in the level of shows they make today. Flawless production and incredible acting are becoming a given, and I'm here for it. And, while a bit of repetition in the soundtrack is unavoidable due to its length, and the plot was somewhat forgettable overall, it still managed to hold my attention to the end. I think ending the show after 12 episodes was actually a really good idea; it felt like a natural place to end things without spinning up some miscellaneous plot contrivances.

Although the premise is basically a bundle of tropes (office romance, contract relationship, rich guy-poor girl, and more!?) there was some innovation here and there. As with most shows of this type, the uniqueness really shines through the side characters and the second lead. I was also very appreciative that the female lead was actually good at her job (huh!?) and the male lead wasn't an arrogant jerk (a trope which, in my opinion is a little too tired). The family relationships for the chaebols was also well executed and somewhat unique. In the end, shows like these are carried by the actors, the production, and the character dialogue, and Business Proposal pulled through on all fronts. Don't except anything too profound, but I do recommend this show.

Web comic drama done right!!

I won't reiterate what many people have said about this drama because honestly there are so many great things.

I want to get at the drama's ability to embrace its absurdity. A lot of rom-com dramas fail to recognize that their plot is ridiculous and absurd, A Business Proposal takes the ridiculousness of its plot and runs with it. Like come on, Rich ML/Poorer FL, contract relationship, narcissistic ML, and hard-working FL are all classic pillars of K-Drama fluff. However, A Business Proposal rids itself of all the boring and eye-roll-inducing parts of fluff drama, no drawn-out miscommunication, no overly controlling ML/weak and indecisive FL, and most importantly NO TAKING ITSELF TOO SERIOUSLY. I have watched countless dramas that drag themselves out by adding unnecessary parental or past drama that adds nothing to the fluff piece that everyone was watching for.

This drama takes the advice I scream into my computer with at almost every other drama, "THE PLOT IS RIDICULOUS, EMBRACE IT!!!"

Treat yourself to this sweet cheese cake

so kdramas have taken a turn in recent years to more complex storylines (horror, dark, infidelity, etc) i started to miss the cliche romance, "rich guy poor girl", and "contract marriage" type of dramas. so i was really happy to try this this drama because i haven't seen a drama with this storyline in a while.

This is sweet but not cringe, the arcs aren't dragged out and there aren't many unnecessary scenes. you might need to hang on till episode 3 to get hooked but it will be such a beautiful ride. There are so many funny scenes (not cringe funny). and you will fall in love with all the characters really.

So in summary, it is not a revolutionary storyline, very predictable but done really nice with great acting . if you have missed the rich guy poor girl or contract marriage dramas, you will love this. they need to make light dramas like this once in a while the complex and dark dramas can get tiring. still hoping they will make more action romance dramas like healer

I'm not hating any of the actors , i'm just saying my review about it , and thanks .

Like everyone knows , this drama is still airing and it will end the next week after airing four more episodes . We don't know yet the end and what's going to happen at the last ep . So , basically , I started watching this drama after it aired 4 ep . My frien kept talking about it and she really liked the main couple and the story so I tried to give it a try . It was funny to watch it but I didn't like it that much 'cause it's like every classiqye drama trope . Anyway , without any spoilers , I'm just watching it just for thee second couple (seong-hun & young-seo) because they suit each other so much amd making it so easy for me to watch it .
These days , Ithink I've know why I didn't like this drama very much ; because almost every kdrama I've watched it is action , thiller and melodrama genre . So maybe it didn't suit me that much .
Thanks for reading my review and I hope it helped you !!

It was cute in the beginning but now.....

Some scenes are cringe and the love story is too fast. In the beginning Shin Ha Ri acting as Jin young Seo was awesome, it was giving me that feeling to keep watching, but then Kang Tae Mu started to like Shin Ha Ri a bit to fast. I overall like the drama, but at places it just doesn't make sense. Especially their first kiss. Shin Ha Ri fell on Kang Tae Moo. That was so cringe and unrealistic. Plus I still don't understand, why Kang tae Moo sued that secret video maker. By doing that it was JIN YEOUNG SEO he helped, not SHIN HA RI. But it's good overall, just lacks that factor which motivates me to keep watching. And the second lead couuple is the best stress reliever ~~~ Gosh I love them<<<<<<3 If you dont want to watch this because of main couple, watch it for the secound lead couple.
