Weak hero class 1
Well I know this is one of the most hyped drama (I will not say overhyped since it is really well played and at the time I do not think there was any other as liked "revenge" type of drama) and I probably did not watch this at the right cause it is after Friendly rivarly and meantime Buried hearts (so there is already revenge) and after Newtopia (so violence also was tthere) - I just should have watched something lighter waiting for The divorce insurance - but moving on, still not bad rating, simply not for my The best of 2022's list.Okay moving on to characters (I will write actors' names but I am writing about characters):
Park Ji Hoon - he is amazing actor, his role is totally different from At distance spring is green (Love him there) or Love revolution , his character at the beginning made me think that he would work great in The uncanny counter (maybe someday if we will get season 3 - also now I want him, Cho Byeong Gyu, Kim Sejeong and maybe Roh Jeong Eui in one drama) - in my opinion he for the first time had real friends, so he became really close to them. Also I think he felt guilty, that it was his fault that CHW was taking revenge and that is why everything bad happened (although great bromance - I really see only frienship between him and the rest of guys), in the end he needs to heal after all this trauma (it is clear that it is there) - also he was not weak, since episode one he knew how to fight and knew how to protect himself, the weakest in this was HK.
Choi Hyun Wook - he did not deserved what happened to him, but he isn't a saint (none of the main 3 is to be honest - violence is not the only solution), he was super friendly and maybe it is the reason why some people got wrong idea (guy number 3) or maybe he is bi if we really looking into boy/boy love. Spoiler - it was said that he will not wake up - so I guess his injuries was so bad that he is in pernament coma, probably brain dead.
Hong Kyung - guy number 3, well his father is sh*t, so in this terms there is a lot of reasons to feel bad for him, also I do believe that he fell in love with CHW (maybe his sexuality was a reason for bullying in his former school), if all of his actions as some people are saying was because of instagram then it is literally the most stupid reason, it was simply jealousy......but still his actions was wrong, nothing justify this, he went too far and he is not a victim (at least he felt a little guilty and cared that CHW was in bad condiction, still he is a villain in this story).
Lee Yeon - she did nothing wrong!!! it was not her fault at all, she was more like a sister to CHW, he took care of her so it is only natural that she wanted to be close to him and it is clear that she was more into PJH (and I would like them together), she also did not really wanted to exlude HK, it was also new to her, keep in mind that she also did not have normal life.
Also nice to see some actors I knew from other dramas: Shin Seung Ho, Cha Woo Min, Yoon Jung Hoon, Kim Su Gyeom and Jo Han Chul (totally different father from Love next door). Worth mentioning: Na Chul (RIP).
I think that there were a little too much violence and too little their friendship/bond, they keep telling about killing - so none of them was saint neither right in theirs behaviors - you cannot beat violence with violence - but it is this type of drama and it is about bullying (extreme level). Ending make it clear for me that no matter where you go the same problems, violence and bullies will be there.
I do not see a reason for season 2 to be honest, but if it will be released I will be watching. I understand why people love it, it reminded me of Dokgo rewind, acting is perfect, episodes are short but there is actually a lot happening, so to sum up yeah it is worth watching.

perfect literally
it's not the same as the webtoon but it shows it in a different way but it's still on the same basis and it's made me cry. I love this and I've watched it a few times already over the months. certainly something to come back to. and I can't wait for season 2.the acting was really good. the emotional moments, the betrayals, the anger and the revenge was perfect. i love how they show the struggles of each of the three main characters. they all have some problems and some can live with them but one used it to an advantage.

How does this have 9.1?
Alright, let me just start by saying—Weak Hero Class 1 is good. Like, genuinely good. But the way people hype it up like it’s THE best K-drama or the most groundbreaking psychological thriller ever—yeah, I’m not sold on that. It’s solid, it hits some really emotional beats, but it’s not flawless, and it’s definitely not something that left me breathless or wrecked once it ended. My biggest gripe? The friendships. Like… was I supposed to feel something deep for this trio? Because, honestly, I didn’t. Not fully. There weren’t enough scenes of them bonding or actually getting to know each other. It felt like, “Oh yeah, we fought the same guys, so we’re friends now.” You cannot just throw trauma bonding at me and call it a day—especially when none of them knew the others’ backstories or pain points. It felt shallow, not in the acting, but in the writing. The potential was there, but the execution? Meh.
Now, Sieun? Easily the best character in the entire thing. Jihoon’s acting carried. The way he acted with his eyes, the subtle facial expressions—it was so painfully good. The constant look of suppressed rage or grief, like he’s just barely holding it together? Insane. And his transition—from this calculated, emotionless top student to someone who just breaks—felt so real. The way he snaps at the end, not thinking, just hurting... yeah, that was deserved. And honestly? Valid. He lost the only bit of comfort he clawed out for himself. Years of being isolated, finally finding solace, and then having it ripped away? I’d lose it too.
And then there’s Beomseok. The human embodiment of “I don’t want to be a hater but…” I don’t even care about his sob story because the way he moves through this drama made me wanna launch my phone. The jealousy, the insecurity, the absolute audacity of this boy—YOU’RE MAD ABOUT AN INSTAGRAM FOLLOW BACK?? And then you go and beat Suho half to death with the people you called in—then ask if he’s okay?? Be so for real. You paid someone to hurt him and now you’re suddenly worried? Bro. No. The parallel between him and Sieun was really incredible, just goes to show how different people turn out in different ways even after going through similiar conditions.
Speaking of Suho—literal cutie. No complaints. But let’s be honest—he had the least depth in the trio. He was there, he was sweet, he fought good, but character-wise? Weakest link. Still loved him though. That boy deserved a nap and a hug.
Now the "villains"… honestly? I don’t even care about their backstories. They’re just high schoolers being power-hungry and violent because that’s their only way of surviving or feeling strong. And that’s actually what made it hit a little harder—because that’s real. There are kids like that. Kids who don’t need deep evil motives—they’re just mean, insecure, and desperate. You can’t even call them “villains,” really. They’re just broken boys doing what they know to feel superior.
The fight scenes? Chef’s kiss. Every hit felt personal. Like they weren’t fighting to win, they were fighting because it was the only way they knew how to express themselves. Especially Sieun—when that boy let loose, it wasn’t just fists, it was everything he’d been bottling up for years.
Pacing was… fine. Not bad, not mind-blowing. I think if I wasn’t multitasking, it might’ve felt a bit draggy in places. It didn’t consume me like a thriller should. You know those dramas that have you panicking at 3AM needing to know what happens next? Yeah, this wasn’t that. The cliffhangers were good, they kept me going, but I wasn’t dying to click next.
And the ending? Satisfying. Not mind-breaking, not soul-crushing—but clean. It wrapped up, left room for Season 2, and didn’t piss me off. Which is rare for shows like this. Honestly, I’m tuning in for Season 2 just because Ryeoun’s in it. Priorities.
Overall? Weak Hero Class 1 is a solid 7.5/10. Good fights, great acting, especially from Jihoon. Emotional moments hit. But it lacks the depth to make it an all-time favorite. It’s like… I respect it, but I’m not obsessed.
Would I recommend? Yeah. Would I rewatch? Probably not.

Dropped Halfway In
Dropped halfway in, I think another overrated show on the list.I got a bit tired watching a protagonist that 24/7 looks like he wants to cry. I kid you not, watch it yourself, it always looks like he's about to cry. Couldn't care much more for his other buddies. The dialogues and many of the action sequences lack the usual urgent, thriller feel. I also watched this based on episode 1 which showed a calculating, butt kicking main character. However, after the first episode, his first big conflict was approached in such a goofy, foolish and naive manner that made me wonder "what happen to that guy we saw in the first episode?" After that, I just lost my drive to watch. I honestly thought I was going to see some nice, calculating, bad guy butt kicking but end up being bored and disappointed. And again, watching a main character that keeps walking around like he's about to cry or he's high on some kinda drugs all the time, no thanks.

I see this being compared to DP, which is a masterpiece...both these dramas are melodramas whose OSTs feature the same artist (Meego), but that's where the similarities end.

Surpassed my expectations
This show was on my Netflix list for quite some time, I was unsure about watching because I thought it would solely be fighting and more fighting. I was so wrong. I cannot stop thinking about this drama ever since I completed it.I found it surprising because I ended up understanding many of the characters, through their confidence, intelligence, and even envious-selves (e.g. Beomseok). The storyline of the characters was perfectly sewn through, I watched it all in one day because of this.
10/10 show, even throughout the sadness of plots, I was truly witnessing the beauty of this show - how friendships are formed, how friendships could end due to jealousy, why people end up being a certain type of way - it is all in this show. Worth a watch if you can watch it.

100% A rewatch and for fighting action lovers!
Seriously should have watched this K-drama earlier! One of the best drama's that I have ever watched although I don't watch much. The actors are seriously so good especially Park-Jihoon he's so impressive. I have shed a lot here, but it was so worth it.S1 and S2 is sooo good and I am so excited for s3 I'm sure others is. Ep 1 was just shocking, and it hooks you into watching more. Every episode is a new fight/action. It's so worth your time. I was able to complete it in two day bc that's how good it was!

Powerful Acting and Exceptional Storytelling That Left Me in Tears
A series that stole my heart! All the acting was magnificent, but Park Ji Hoon and Choi Hyun Wook's performances were on a whole other level, if I may say so.
The story is really well written and was carried out in the same way! The fights were exceptionally done, everything feels real, so it's enjoyable to watch because it doesn't feel fake. What's more, you can feel the pain of betrayal and the loss of an important person, the anger at injustice, but also the affection of the friendship between Su Ho and Si Eun. The scene that will stay with me for the rest of my life will always be the last one: Park Ji Hoon did a truly exceptional job.

A Masterpiece
Not only did they portray the friendship so well, but Ji-Hoon is an absolute legend. The way Si-Eun was always a very serious and lonely person but found a friend that made him actually smile. I relate to him too much.Even though I'm sure everyone who watched this hates Beom-Seok by the end, I actually feel so bad for him. I hate what he did to Suho but the complexity of his character is something not every can get- but I do. The amount of things he had to go through and endure throughout his life is legit crazy. (It's no excuse to hurt your friends tho)
The scene of Si-Eun punching the window in episode 8 actually made me cry because I genuinely relate to him and love him so much. All he wanted to do was mind his business, but... people-
This is one of my favorite shows. It's a masterpiece.

the best drama!!
I saw this when I was scrolling on mdl. I clicked on it. I watched it. in one night. this drama was so good!!! I felt multiple emotions, happiness, sadness, anger, and fear. everything in this drama was perfect. the fighting scenes, the acting, the visuals, I really liked the script. I am the type person who gets second hand embarrassment extremely easily. nothing they said make me feel schem(second hand embarrassment). In the last ep's (5-8 ep) these are the most sad ep's. even though I have never dealt with bullies, this drama truly made me know how serious bullies are. I truly think that beom seok should have spoke up of his problems instead of destroying himself. I feel like his heart was always kind but because of his trauma, it kinda effected him. I'm so happy that shi eun stood up for himself and gave the guys who deserved a beating a beating. I really hope when season 2 comes out, ahn soo ho will be out of the coma, he was my fav person in this drama. oh, if you guys wanna watch the drama, you can go to kisskh. search it up on sarfari or Google!! thx for readinggWas this review helpful to you?
