Amidst a SLOW storm of Love

I'm giving it 7.5/10 for the independent and talented FL who carved her own career and made her own choices. BUT it should have been no more than 25 eps, not 30. The ML spoke as if every word took a year off his life AND he took a year to say every.single.word .

3-4 minutes of screentime for maybe 10 words of dialog between the OTP was the norm. It was excruciating. One of them says like 3 words, 90 seconds later, the other one replies with a single word. Rinse and repeat. It's a testament to how much the pairing pulled me that I stuck it out. That and the actual snooker, which I loved seeing. Had the Drama been 25 instead of 30, with the leads communicating at normal human pace, and without the the FL's constant coquettishness, it would have got a 9 from me

Roteiro diferente com elenco multicultural

Em meio a Nevasca de Amor ( Amidst a Snowstorm of Love)

Wetv

One of the best C-Dramas till date

This is going to be my first review EVER and I am definitely very excited for it.
Lin Yiyang is by far one of the best written male leads in recent Chinese and Korean dramas.
He has really good chemistry with Yin Guo but the best part of the drama isn't their perfect chemistry, it is the way they are written as characters. Yin Guo is not your typical damsel in distress, she is a world class 9-ball player with aspirations and goals.
The story is intriguing from the very start. A foreign set-up with students abroad is another eye-catching aspect.
The development of the story is apt considering it is a long drama with 30 episodes, however, once you start watching it, it does not seem this long.
The supporting cast has sufficient screen time and story but I would like to see more of Lin Lin and Xiaodong.
All in all, its a must watch for people who like romantic dramas with a good story line.

I Still Don’t Know What Snooker Is, but This Drama Deserves a 9/10 (From a nitpicker)

Great Chemistry
Oversimplified plot (Can be the only downside, almost nothing happens in most episodes if someone is looking for substance)
Every character is committed to their role
Amazing direction and OST
The atmosphere always reminds me of my days abroad

Alright, let me get this out of the way: I have no idea how snooker or nine-ball works. I saw it being played in this drama, and you’d think that might spark some interest. Nope—zero interest, still confused, moving on.

There’s nothing bad I can say about this drama (which is wild, because finding flaws is my hobby). If you’re patient enough for a slow-burn story that actually stays focused on its plot, this is one of the rare gems you shouldn’t miss. The chemistry between the cast? Fabulous. Every side character? Fully committed—no one’s just there to fill space. It’s like every actor showed up thinking, “I’m here to make this work, not to waste your time.”

And here’s where it gets even better: no random new characters popping up halfway through. I swear, half the Chinese dramas I’ve seen introduce more people in the last few episodes than a wedding party. Not here, though. This director had a plan, and it shows. Everything unfolds with perfect pacing, without that clunky, chaotic “who is this guy again?” energy.

Now, I don’t know what it is with Chinese dramas and their obsession with turning everyone except the main characters into scheming villains. Why does every side character have to act like they’re plotting a coup? But this drama? No unnecessary evil, no brain-dead villains. Just a tight, simple story that focuses on the leads and the emotions that matter. It’s refreshing.

If I had one gripe, it’s that the plot is almost too simple. Honestly, not much happens: the leads meet, they go back to China, a few things happen, and then—boom—they get married. I would’ve liked a little more story and maybe a couple of extra episodes, but hey, what they did with the straightforward plot left me impressed.

I had some free time so thought I would write some of my thoughts on some dramas. Maybe I will still remember them when I get older and remember the especial feelings again.

It's a sweet and tender drama that's a breeze to watch.

This show was just green flags everywhere. From every character!
Rarely do you find a narrative without toxic characters who act as interfering antagonists. Each person brought a profound mature attitude, especially toward the leading couple.

I’m going to talk about Xiao Dong, first. He was our second male lead.
And when we first see him, we learn he’s the female lead’s cousin, not sure if it’s by blood – but at that time, just looking at his stern face, and how he was giving instructions to female lead, I was all, ut oh – he’s about to be the love rival. HOW WRONG I WAS! I’ve never seen a more supportive second ML before. Talk about perfect, sweet, he was always rooting for the couple, paving the way for their relationship, and also trying to get back his close friendship with our ML. There was a frisson of a relationship for Xiao Dong, too, with his ex, they danced around each other, but by the end, we still don’t know if they ever got back together. I really hope so! If anyone deserves love, it’s that adorable, suited man. He’s going to be one of my favorite second MLs.

I could do a section for each supporting man – there are so many adorable ones, but I’ll group them altogether and say they were a great support for our leading man. The brotherhood, taking them back decades, was clear in every scene and I loved how they were always there for each other. Never a jealous, petty moment.

Let’s get to our yearner – Lin Yiyang. I swear, the actor has eyes made for yearning scenes. You’ll hear me say “It’s rare” in my review, because it really was rare to have a 30 episode drama and neither lead ever lost their temper – we never had one argument. Yiyang loved Guo from the first time he laid eyes on her and it clearly showed in his every action. This was an attentive man! Everything he did was for her happiness and comfort. He called himself a poor man, but he was such a hard worker and talk about spoiling!
It’s the first time I’ve watched this actor’s work, but I’m sure it won’t be the last, this was a perfect show to introduce me to him. My eyes were swooning so many times at his sweet, loving actions.
The man gave good hug!

My initial decision to give this show a watch was because of how much I adored Zhao Jin Mai in Shine on Me – she was my ideal heroine in that show. And while I really liked Guo in this one, too – she was unproblematic, never threw tantrums and worked with their long distance relationship – I wished the writer had matured her a little over time and gave her more confidence.
I'm a sucker for romance novels, and I'm super sensitive to repetition. So, I spotted this thing in the drama that kept happening, and I'm baffled as to why. Guo avoided about 90% of the kisses Yiyang went for.
Knowing she was a timid girl, not used to romance, and possibly felt self-conscious kissing in front of others – even though it was in private – I still considered all that. It's not like Yiyang was leaning on her for more.
It got me thinking why the writer gave the FL that trait. I will say though, she was a great hugger and I loved all those intimate moments. Especially the hand holder. Super heart fluttering.
And then! Toward the end, we suddenly have a pregnancy scare!
Like how? I was hardcore side-eyeing at that moment, with my eyebrows somewhere in my hairline!
This FL was avoiding even the smallest smooches, and you want to be believe they had unprotected sex?
Was it an AI baby?
Did the sperm get delivered by FEDEX?
This was just a little thing that made me chuckle at the time, but at least it tells us Yiyang got past the stiff kisses, right? LOL.

I only included the above section in my review for anyone who is like me and reads reviews to either to find things that might irk me ( cheating, etc..) or to validate any thoughts I might have had about certain scenes. This is your validation if you, too, found the avoidance of kissing to be odd, lol.

Ignoring my minor critiques, I genuinely loved this show and would readily rewatch it for a stress-free escape with its simple, drama-free content. I get why other reviews have said the slow pace didn't suit them, but for me, it's like a show to reset your nervous system!

What a stunning location! I really liked that a good chunk of it took place in another country. And honestly, since I've never watched snooker before, I figured I'd be bored, but wow, I was totally hooked on the games!
Now, I will add Yiyang to my list of ultimate yearners.

ALL SCENE WILL GIVE YOU BUTTERFLIES

I would give 8 for the story because it's not complicated plot but still interesting, meanwhile point of this story is how they (FL and ML) fall in love and get through ML problems. The only thing i learned from this drama is how billiard game is played. Chinese have done all the variety sports in their dramas.

ALL CAST, ALL OF THEM i would give 10.... because they all so exceptional handsome. But sometimes i get awkward feeling with ML acting not because the flirty scene, i think ML expression is just feel empty sometimes but he is handsome :) (He was forgiven)

Tbh i don't really get the story with first 3 episode (the reason why you had to watched this more than once), and get sulky with those flirty from ML because i envy with FL (don't mind me).

If you don't mind or searching for lovely poisonous sweet scene, I recommend you!!

OTT Kissing

i am a fan of WL and ZJM but this show really is over the top with the kissing. i get it that the characters are young with raging hormones but real romance isn't about kissing all the time... the initial parts of the get together and kissing were enjoyable but towards the end i was skimming through them.

i enjoyed the sports theme of the show, it allowed me to understand the billards and pool games more and appreciate the professionalism of the sport. provides also a glimpse of the life of an athlete - lots of training and traveling for competition leaving not much time left for personal development.

i thought the proposal at the end of the show was too dramatic... or does that reflect china's standard of proposal...?

OST was good, one or two notable tunes.

Sweet Romance!

This series is one of the more lighthearted ones I’ve watched. It features a simple plot and characters, set against the unique backdrop of the billiards world—a refreshing choice since it’s not often we see a story revolve around this sport. However, the focus is more on the love story between Yin Guo and Yi Yang, two introverted and shy characters who bond over their shared interest in billiards and eventually fall in love.

To be honest, it was a bit of a struggle to finish the series. The pacing felt slow, and at times, the episodes seemed lengthy. What kept me watching were the romantic scenes—the chemistry between the leads was undeniable and really stood out. The billiard scenes were well-done, though not my personal preference. I found myself skipping parts, but I still managed to reach the end.

Both actors impressed me with their performances. I learned they were both child actors, and their experience really shines through in their portrayals. The music was soothing and complemented the tone of the series well. The production also took the show abroad, which brought a fresh perspective to the setting.

Overall, it’s a good watch, but I wouldn’t revisit the entire series. However, I’d definitely rewatch some of my favorite scenes for the chemistry and charm they brought to the screen.

butterfly inducing

gosh, this is the kinda drama that will make you squeal and smile all the time, its a love at first sight trope done right, although I had some complaints with it. the chemistry between the couple seems lacking. they never really have a valid casual conversation in any scene. its either physical intimacy or he tells her only the dark parts of his old life then acts like everyone makes his teenage years sound miserable. also man, the amount of kissing and sexual connotations in this drama is CRAZY. his love language is either feeding her till she's stuffed, or physical intimacy that'll eventually lead to sex. i know he's supposed to represent an introvert, but god keep your hands to yourself for a minute sir.
Also, the bad lipsyncing to the song in the last episode is killing me.

snowy fluffy romance!

I am going to be really honest. I have a love-hate relationship with this particular drama because it took me over a year to finally finish it and there are several reasons to this:

Parts I Enjoyed:
- Lin Yiyang is such a superior green flag boyfriend (more like an obsessed boyfriend... BUT WHO DOESN'T WANT A MAN LIKE THAT RIGHT?). Adding on to this I think there was so much chemistry between the leads and omg WU LEO's eyes. Wu Leo was in LOVE with JinMai. There is no literal explanation other than that because his eyes would only soften for her and him being wanting to be enveloped by her smell every time they hug was beyond phenomenal acting.
- I LOVE JIANGYANG AND XIAODONG SM (and thats the statement of the century for you). The chemistry between YiYang, JiangYang and XiaoDong near the end of the series was impeccable. I wanted a separate story on just their friendship. It was so wholesome and beautifully written. They supported each other both mentally and cared for each others physical injuries.
- XiaoDong's relationship with YinGuo.
- Also, there was no way JiangYang was single in this drama. He is too fine and kind to be single.
- The amount of times YiYang PUBLICLY professed his love for YinGuo. (social anxiety is scared of him i swear)
- YiYang and his love for buying food for people (need a guy like that in my life)
- Well written characters. From Main to Supporting roles, everyone had a good background story and beautiful friendships and relationships with each other. I bet the production process was filled with lots of laughter and silly moments!
- The FRUITSSSSS. all of them: apples, oranges and cherries <3

Parts I Did Not Enjoy:
-The Ending. How. Did. XiaoDong not end up with LinLin.
- Also, the "three years later" was too rushed. I either wanted to see a wedding scene or a longer scene/episode just for the "three years later" part.
-It was too long. As I have stated above it took me ONE WHOLE YEAR to finish this drama and that should speak for itself but I must let out my thoughts here (because I don't think anyone else would want to listen to me). I had to stop at 17 eps when I first started watching it, and only 8 months later did I have the courage to want to finish it (and it was solely because I wanted to see the bathtub curtain scene which I saw on an edit). There were so much unnecessary side plots. E.g. the pregnancy scare (even though I admit I loved YiYang carrying YinGuo on the stairs was amazing, they could have done it with the pregancy scare as a catalyst for the scene.
- Cringe-fest! BUT I ATE UP EVERY SCENE DELIVERED. But they could have slowed down and use it to flesh out the XiaoDong and LinLin storyline.
- Uh ZhengYi (?) was she really needed? because they could have fleshed out a cooler friendship storyline with YinGuo with either LinLin or her billiard friends or her sister (?)

I am just glad I finished it LOL.

it was decent but maybe not for me

the leads def have chemistry but something abt their interactions leading up to becoming a couple and as one just felt either awkward to me. i've never really enjoyed wu lei in the romance genre and i just don't think hes to my taste in terms of acting which is fine lol also wang xing yue is too distracting for me to care abt anything else idk the couple just was a bit mid same w the plot
