my favourite cdrama to date <3
TWOT is one of the most memorable cdrama for me. maybe because I really love this kind of drama; slow-burn adult romance, full of life lessons with beautiful cinematography. Their chemistry is 100%. Their love is natural and believable.the kind that makes u fuzzy and warm inside.u will smile, laugh and cry with them. no cringeworthy/awkward moment at all.i wished for a happier ending.;') though for me, as long as they're together, i'm satified enough.
lastly,worth mentioning, the OST...outstanding!
i hope Azan and RanRan will collab again in the future. well hopefully in a less depressed project *prays hard*

Unexpectedly dark
Just finished this a few mins ago and i’m still reeling from the unexpected assault lol. First thing first, im going into this series blind without knowing anything regarding the plot or the novel, just knowing CZY and LJ from their previous works and kinda liking it, so wanna give this a chance. And who can resist a man in uniform? Lol. And the fact that they make LZ as an expert demolition engineer instead of the usual Special Force officer like other dramas make it more interesting and fresh. the first half was so light hearted to me, Song Ran/Li Zan’s back and forth flirting kept me entertained (and blushing/squealing) for the first half. I mean, Li Zan is basically the epitome of the greenest green flag to ever exist in cdramaland so far. Lol. Their flirting, even though sometimes felt so awkward, but you just cant help loving them even though I have to grit my lips, or smash my face onto the pillow cringing from secondhand embarrassment quite a few times. Then the storyline goes further into PTSD. I was quite surprised of the length they go into this topic, it was a journey, and not just a side point being introduced and then was amazingly healed like other dramas so far i’ve seen. And when the battle looks to be won, dangggg comes the final boss of trauma (and i love that the trauma was so believable that you cant help but accept that someone may not survive the ptsd this time). The final 2-3 episodes basically sealed the deal. I was quite flabbergasted by the end of it. Lol. Damn open ending! The only flaws I have problem with the plot is why oh why Ben was so foolish trying to rescue A-Zan by himself when he has the whole squad at his disposal aishhhh shiball sekiyyaa haha. Tsk2 poor planning mr capable captain! Oh. I also have a problem with how they didnt give a backstory on how Luo Zhan and Jiang Lin related to Li Zan in the first place, those 2 characters seem to be holding quite an influence on Li Zan (or did i missed it?) There’s also quite a few hiccups as well in terms of writing, like the glaring medical side (how come someone with a cardiac arrest and multiple intraabdominal injury/neck laceration was not intubated? And dont get me started on a hormone injected to make a dying pt able to wake up to talk for 30mins. The heck. Give me that drug and basically half of the hospital’s problem can be solved. Lol. And special force dont just let their explosion expert goes on his merry way after such a big explosion/mission without medical clearance or debriefing. And seems like people can get into the special force (or even being its captain) so easily.p/s: the battle of ?motuman is done well imho though. The sequence, the battle idea, the camera works all tied up nicely
Acting was tiptop. CZY was amazing and LJ appears to be quite natural, especially after they got together. Both of them are an A class cryer (lol) they can basically cry at the drop of a hat i felt like. I spent quite a few episodes bawling my eyes out with them two tbh. Li Zan like i said, is basically the greenest green flag ML so far in recent years of watching cdrama, the way he treats Ran Ran is basically like a queen, even when he is in the throes of ptsd episode. And a round of applause to CZY for his portrayal of a ptsd victim. His was so far the most believable portrayal i’ve seen, far surpassing even Yang Yang’s in Glory of Special Force or HBQ’s in Operation Special Warfare. While I basically have A Problem with YY and HBQ’s version, CZY on the other hand, able to tackle the character going thru ptsd without it being cringey or over the top. Song Ran is a little complex of a character, have her own weakness, but still lovable (and relatable) nevertheless. And tbh, I like all the supporting characters as well, from benjamin to saxin to dr pei to shen bei all the way to SR’s mom and LZ’s father. They all make this story more enjoyable, rather than making me more stress or exerting effort in hatred. Lol.
Ost was nice enough, it grows on you. Usually english ost in chinese dramas sound weird, but the Te Amo song kinda grows on me somehow. The battle song was also appropriately energetic.
Totally recommended this drama, even with its darker theme and twist. If not for how they decide on the ending, this probably gets a 9.5 or even a 10 from me. But alas, im just a mere mortal, and mortal likes happy ending! Lol

Unconditional love
The White Olive Tree... that who all want an unconditional Love story with the great unforgettable memory of a drama... this drama was worth to watch... don't know about others feedbacks and comments I really really loved watching this drama… the acting of all actors… great solute for them to giving such an amazing memory for me to keep in mind..The story line: from the start to the end, I loved it so much not a single episode made me feel not to watch or skip. The entire journey is really nice to watch. And the romance / hate / Love / care /friendship / war everything Is perfectly done that no any negative feedback on that. And personally, we all need a happy ending but, in that case, still I couldn’t understand whether to be happy or sad for the ending… the HAPPILY EVER AFTER is still there but its really hard to explain how I felt after watching the final episode (whether to be happy or sad)... but something stabbing inside I can’t explain it why. The war and the trauma and the unconditional love and affection between main leads / Father and son / mother and daughter / boss and staff / Captain and colleague / brothers / friends (Azan / Jiang Lin / Benjamin / Sa Xin ) all these things are really attached to me like nothing. When the way all of them try to protect one and other sacrificing our own life made the story really strong. And the name “THE WHITE OLIVE TREE” really go along with the story line. The way they showed the PTSD effects and the way Chen Zhe yuan portrayed it so well we cannot watch the last 2 episodes without tears and heart wrenching feeling. Overall it’s a beautiful story with the strong acting.
Acting: What to say about each and every actors in the drama… no words to describe them.. Simply, all the performance are top notch and mind blowing. The main leads, whether it is love or emotional trauma or the suffering after the explosion and the post trauma effect and the way they both stood for each other and supporting each other for their pros and cons are simply amazing. Their chemistry onscreen is beautiful to watch. Its an eye treat for me to watch the slow romance and the cute moments between them before and after confessing their feelings. And for me the first confessing between them I expected and prefer to be verbal and not with the background voices. They are so natural with what they are doing on screen. And the smiles / small gestures between them / the way azan understanding what songran thinking was simply attractive for me. (I personally like this kind of romance) and they both ready to sacrifice their life for each other and to make sure to be there for each other are really amazing to watch.
Benjamin and Sa Xin and Dr. Pei : the tom and jerry relationship between both of them is really good and after the deceased of Rina the bond between them took the next level is good to watch. The way ben always try to protect Sa Xin is really showing the him as a big brother. And the small amount of love between Dr. pei and ben was good to watch and in his last moment when he imagining she was there with him with the smile was just made realize the amount of love he is having for Dr. pei and he paid his entire saving for her drink and the way she said “I’m Ok with my drink” is the love they have for each other. And the last conversation between ben and Sa Xin was so emotional and in the last when Sa Xin went to fulfill ben’s wishes changing his name as ben was showing the affection he has for Benjamin is so touchy.
There is no a lot of scene between azan and his father but the one particular scene captured my mind is the first time after the blast when azan meets his father for the first time and the way his father looked at him was really felt like homely. And the conversation between songran and Mr. li was good to hear.
The love hate relationship between Songran and her mother and the change of their bonding after her mother’s illness everything was so good to watch and they way her mother felt happy seeing azan and raran hugging each other and prayed for their togetherness forever is simply showing the care she has for raran. And the bonding between azan and raran’s mother also so comfortable to watch. And the way she gave the solution to find azan in the final episode was heartwarming.
The bond between Shen Bei and songran is also good to watch and the way shen bei reconstructed the orphanage and named it as RINA was simply awesome.
The friendship between Azan and Luo Zhan / Jiang Lin : the way they both care about azan was really good to see. the way they both always taking care of him and protecting him was kind of feeling that everyone need friend like them. As a soldier he always tries to protect azan and at the same time the civilians of the eastern country were showing his dedication for both his job and the relationship. The way he applied for the happo city after knowing azan was going there is one of the scenes I admire their friendship. About Luo Zhan, when he got to know about azan’s condition and he first saw him in the hospital after the blast the way he reacts was showing the care he has for azan and continuously going to the hospital with him when azan meet his doctor to know about his condition and finally the way he hugged him after azan joking about the doctor, these all things are making the drama more beautiful.
Conclusion: the drama “THE WHITE OLIVE TREE” is worth to watch… No disappointment ❤️👍

For Chen Zhe Yuan
I'm a Fan of CZY since OUR SECRET time.Ngl his Acting on Hidden Love was Superb than his Previous one and Was more watchable more than 5 times.
On this Drama Idk from where to start from.
1. From the First episode it was interesting but as the story kept on dragging! I felt bore. They didn't needed to drag to episode 38 tbh.
2. I didn't feel any Chemistry between ML & FL.
I felt a miss in romance. They both were just Shy with each other.
3. The acting of both Leads were great on their own.
But keeping beside Main Leads, I loved watching Sasin and Ben more. Their chemistry was Top notch. I loved every scene of them together. I wish they have gotten more screen time.
4. The PTSD Plot was good, Actually people needed to understand that this is serious if you cannot overcome. They tried their best.
5. For the Ending I would say it was good enough. Everyone got Happy ending. But I don't know why Sasin was called Ben. And The Main Leads got their happy ending atleast at Heaven.
Overall the Drama was Good, I will rate 9 out of 10.
Cutting one bcz It's too lengthy. They could've finished within atleast 30 episodes. The unnecessary dragging of war for 4 episodes inthe Last wasn't needed.

Heart-Pounding, Beautiful Romance, Sad Story
When I first started watching this drama, I, like many viewers who only made it through the first couple of episodes before dropping it, found it awkward. Liang Jie’s acting felt unnatural, the dialogue was stilted, and even Chen Zhe Yuan had his moments of awkwardness. However, I kept watching—partly because Chen Zhe Yuan looks incredible in tactical gear and partly because he won me over when he rescued the female lead and held her tightly to protect her. That moment was undeniably heart-throbbing.Initially, my impression was quite critical. The script felt weak, the conversations lacked depth, and the romance scenes moved at a frustratingly slow pace. Even moments of physical contact felt cringeworthy. However, by episode 11, my perspective changed. I found myself moved, unexpectedly shedding tears as I began to feel the characters' pain, suffering, and emotional turmoil.
The first 11 episodes take place in war zones, immersing viewers in a world of chaos and danger. After that, the characters return to China, only for the male lead to head back to the war zone in episode 25, with the female lead following shortly after. By the time they both return to China in episode 37, they are broken.
Story & Themes
White Olive Tree is based on the experiences of Song Ran, who witnessed firsthand the horrors of a war-torn country, met Li Zan, and lost friends along the way. At its core, this is a story about PTSD—one that highlights how only those who have endured combat can truly understand each other’s pain.
It delves into the grim realities of war: terrorists planting landmines in fields, car bombs in crowded plazas, suicide attacks, and the ever-present fear of death. Beyond that, it’s a story of camaraderie, love, loss, and survival—a deeply disturbing yet hauntingly beautiful tale of romance set against a backdrop of war, courage, and heroism.
While the pacing is fast and tense during action sequences, it slows down significantly during romantic scenes. Dialogue is minimal, often relying on long pauses rather than words. However, despite the sparse conversation, the longing between the leads is palpable through their gazes.
Another theme this drama explores is the role of journalism in war reporting. While many reporters cover conflicts from the safety of hotel rooms, Song Ran immerses herself in the battlefield, capturing raw footage and firsthand accounts. Unlike journalists who chase fame and prestige—seeking recognition and lucrative rewards for their coverage—Song Ran is driven by a desire to reveal the unfiltered truth to the world.
This theme subtly critiques the bias of mainstream media, highlighting the contrast between sanitized, agenda-driven reporting and the unvarnished realities on the ground. It also underscores why platforms like TikTok have become a political battleground. While traditional media often relies on controlled narratives from a distance, grassroots reporting on social media has empowered ordinary people to document and share real-time footage, frequently challenging and exposing inaccuracies in mainstream coverage.
Characters & Acting
Li Zan (Chen Zhe Yuan)
Li Zan is a bomb expert, a professional building demolition engineer, and a volunteer diffuser in a foreign war-torn country that strongly resembles Syria. He is compassionate, selfless, and undeniably lovable, a role that Chen Zhe Yuan brings to life convincingly.
While he looks young and has an almost boyish charm, his performance in emotional scenes is commendable. His crying scenes are particularly raw and moving, capable of bringing viewers to tears. Despite his somewhat stiff and robotic voice at times, his portrayal of PTSD is gripping and heart-wrenching. His action scenes, particularly in tactical gear, are well-crafted and believable, making him captivating to watch.
Song Ran (Liang Jie)
Liang Jie naturally exudes an air of awkwardness, which works well for her portrayal of Song Ran, a war reporter. Initially, her character can be frustrating—she jumps to conclusions too quickly, is clueless about war zones, and is often oblivious to danger. However, as the story progresses and her backstory unfolds, her independent yet vulnerable nature becomes more understandable.
Having grown up without a mother and feeling like an outsider in her father’s new family, Song Ran developed a strong sense of independence. However, once she meets Li Zan, she finds herself relying on him, as he consistently has her back. Liang Jie’s acting improves significantly after episode 11, making her character much more likable.
Both Chen Zhe Yuan and Liang Jie have a youthful appearance, almost reminiscent of high school students, which at times makes their pairing feel slightly off in such a heavy setting.
Supporting Characters
The banter between Sa Xin and Benjamin is a highlight, with their playful insults adding humor to an otherwise intense story. However, the long pauses between their dialogues sometimes make their exchanges feel overly calculated, losing the natural spontaneity of real banter. That said, Benjamin, played brilliantly by Wang Tian Chen, stands out as one of the most compelling characters aside from Li Zan.
OST & Cinematic Elements
The soundtrack is a major strength of the drama, featuring beautiful slow ballads in both English and Chinese, often accompanied by acoustic instruments. The music enhances the emotional depth of the scenes, making moments of love, loss, and suffering even more poignant. At times, the combination of the soundtrack and the visuals is enough to move viewers to tears.
The cinematography successfully captures the realism of war zones, military barracks, and battle sequences. Explosions, gunfights, and chaotic war-torn landscapes are executed convincingly.
Final Thoughts
The setting of the war zone bears a striking resemblance to Syria, and the political undertones of the story evoke real-world conflicts. The thought of a foreign superpower toppling a government that Li Zan is volunteering for, leaving the region in ruins and handing control over to terrorists who kill innocent civilians that Li Zan and his friends are trying to save, is deeply unsettling. The drama subtly mirrors these harsh realities, making its themes all the more impactful.
While I was initially critical of the acting and dialogue, the emotional depth of the later episodes won me over. Those who have experienced war or PTSD may find this drama particularly resonant. Beyond its romance, it paints a harrowing picture of the tragedies faced by people in war zones—parallels that may evoke sympathy for the struggles of Palestinians, Syrians, and others suffering in conflict-ridden regions.
Despite its awkward moments and slow pacing in certain areas, the intensity of the bomb disposal scenes and combat sequences compensates for these shortcomings. The war-torn landscapes feel authentic, and the emotional weight of the story lingers long after the credits roll. However, the length of the series begins to drag, particularly around episode 30, making it a challenge to endure all the angst and suffering alongside the characters.
The drama currently holds a low rating of 5.4 on Douban, likely due to, among others, its ambiguous ending, where the leads seemingly vanish and reappear in spiritual form, leaving viewers questioning their fate. Though the wounds on Li Zan's body have healed, the scars in his heart and mind last forever. The final message—that sometimes death is preferable to living in endless pain—is hauntingly tragic. The ending forces one to reflect on sacrifice, war, and the depths of human suffering, leaving an emotional imprint long after the last scene fades.
Side note
According to a viewer who has read the novel, dropped the drama and gave it a 4.5 rating, the original story has been drastically altered, diluting the emotional depth of the romance and making it far less heart-wrenching. While Chen Zhe Yuan delivers a brilliant performance as Li Zan, the screenplay does a disservice to Song Ran, reducing her character to an unlikable and poorly developed version of her novel counterpart.
Despite these flaws in the adaptation, I still love the story. I can only imagine how much more inspiring and emotionally impactful the original work must have been.
Great watch! Prepare to cry!

Male lead acting skill is good!
Chen Zheyuan’s portrayal of Lizan in *The White Olive Tree* really stands out, especially during the emotional crying scene and his intense battlefield moments.*Crying Scene:*
In the crying scene, Chen Zheyuan delivers a raw and heartfelt performance. His ability to convey deep emotional turmoil without overdoing it makes the moment incredibly powerful. The subtlety in his expressions — the tension in his face, the trembling of his lips, and the unshed tears — shows his emotional restraint, which amplifies the sadness of the situation. He doesn’t rely on exaggerated gestures, instead opting for a more internalized performance that feels genuine and painful, which allows the audience to connect with his character’s sorrow on a deeper level.
*Battlefield Fight:*
On the battlefield, Zheyuan transforms into a fierce and determined “warrior”, showing off his physical skills while also capturing the emotional weight of war. His movements during the fight are fluid and believable, blending action with the emotional stakes of his character. He’s not just fighting for survival but is deeply driven by the cause and his personal motivations, which Chen Zheyuan conveys through his focused expressions and body language. The way he portrays Lizan’s inner conflict while in battle gives his character depth, showing that it’s not just about physical strength, but the emotional cost of war.
Overall, Chen Zheyuan does a fantastic job balancing the vulnerability and strength of Lizan, making him a compelling and multi-dimensional character in *The White Olive Tree*.

Romance and Healing drama set in the land of war and bad English.
Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25As part of IQiyi’s Love On series, the focus of the drama has to be more than just about soldiers, war and killing. Romance has to play a big part of the story, at least 50%. If the romance sucks, I will not be able to give this drama a high rating. Luckily, I enjoy the main romance for the most part.
Romance:
Let’s start with the negatives: slowness! And I am not talking about just the pacing of the romance, but how slow the leads talk and move. Why are they talking so slowly? Is it supposed to be romantic? This is my biggest problem with the romance! LOL. Additionally, I was losing a tiny little patience during their initial flirting/getting-to-know-each-other stage. It’s very obvious that they like each other but it took them so long to confess. Why are they acting like shy high school kids when they are 30-year-old professionals? Why is FL acting like a lovesick girl always following ML around? Having said all that, I do like their flirting, their shy smiles and many cute and fluffy scenes. As a reward for my patience, the cute couple does deliver sweetness and fluffiness to offset the sad parts of the drama. I like the quiet stubbornness and strength inside them, and their unwavering loyalty and love for each other. I know others are less patient with their lack of open communication but I am actually OK with it. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression are central to this story. It takes years for someone to be healed, so for them to hide that part of themselves, I do find that acceptable. Therefore, it was actually very satisfying to see them slowly open up to each other and let the other into their misery a little bit at a time. I especially enjoy their confrontation during the school bully arc. At first, that arc seems out of place, but it became the catalyst of them revealing their pain. I was worried about their ending as I’ve read some comments. In the end, I am at peace and am OK with it. I was preparing for the worst.
Careers:
I admit I am not familiar with volunteering in the capacity that ML is doing. Therefore, I find it hard to imagine that a volunteer can be so involved in military decisions and operations. Sure, they must have gone through a background check, but military business is no joke. You can’t have civilians doing what ML is doing. On the other hand, as a reporter, FL is not reporting much. Sure, it showed a little of her work during the initial episodes. But for the most part, she’s just tagging along and going on ‘dates’. I wanted to see more reporting, e.g. in episode 1, or more interviews and articles, and not just Weibo/WeChat moment posts. There’s so much more the drama can include FL’s career into the plot in a more meaningful and realistic way.
East Country and Wars:
The writing in the East Country also has plot holes here and there. I still can’t believe FL not wearing her helmet during that dangerous scene in ep 1. I so wanted to yell through the TV screen and shake some sense in her lovesick brain. This is just me, the English spoken gives me a headache. Chen Zhe Yuan’s English is probably the best and most tolerable out of all actors (Chinese and foreigners). It’s so hard to take this seriously when you know for sure English is not the primary language, yet every single one speaks English. Compared to other disaster and war-themed dramas, the execution and budget are just OK. The acting of the minor roles, such as people from the East Country, isn’t that great and their acting takes me out of the serious scenes. Luckily, the main cast really delivered and I became invested again.
Brotherhood:
Yes, I can see why everyone said that the relationship between Ben and Sa Xin is more than just friends/comrades. Is censorship the problem? Did they intentionally try to bait us and frustrate us? I never read the novel, so I don’t know if they are more than friends in the book. Ben and Sa Xin do have some great and fun scenes together, but I might not be as in love with them as many others. On the other hand, I do enjoy this quiet and more mature bond between Ben and Li Zan. I would have loved it more if the drama actually gave us a little more scenes of them together. The earlier scenes are all about Li Zan and Jiang Lin. It makes it hard to believe that Ben and Li Zan already have developed as strong a bond as Li Zan and Jiang Lin.
I would recommend this drama for romance lovers who want war/healing/PTSD as a backdrop, but definitely not for those who want a serious and well-executed war-themed drama. I would also recommend this if you are fans of Chen Zhe Yuan and Liang Jie because their acting is really good. I am happy to see them move away from their usual rom-come selves, and try something more challenging. PTSD is not a topic commonly addressed in a romance drama, but I think “The White Olive Tree” did a good job in showing the reality of the suffering and healing process, especially with Chen Zhe Yuan’s excellent. The only other recent drama I recall that addresses PTSD was Yang Yang in “Glory of Special Forces”. Yang Yang, believe or not, also did an excellent job there. Despite my complaints, I enjoy the main romance and acting for the most part, and I like the OST. therefore, I am giving this an 8.25 rating.

Watch It Only for Actors' Sterling Performances
I just came out of watching White Olive Tree with a bout of PTSD of my own.If I had known what the last few episodes were like, I think I'd have stopped watching it at Episode 34, when life seemed to offer a glimmer of hope still. While the opposite might be the stark reality for many people, I personally don't need that, when all I want is to sit back and be entertained after a spent day at work. I found some of the scenes in the final 4 episodes traumatic and disturbing, it didn't help that I watched them last thing before bedtime and found myself haunted and depressed by the story ending.
The unfolding of the relationship between the two lead characters, Li Zan (Chen Zheyuan) and Song Ran (Liang Jie) got a bit frustrating to watch at times, partly because of their characters' personalities, and this was probably made worse by the slightly slow pace of the earlier episodes. At some point, one cannot help but question their inability to be honest with each other (even though yes, yes, the truth can be difficult to tell and accept). But hiding so much and such important things from the other person surely would get in the way of building a relationship of understanding and trust?
The relationship between Benjamin (Wang Tianchen) and Saxin (Gu Zicheng) was an amusing development and unexpected. I didn't know what to think of it, given Benjamin was very much in love with the female doctor, but at the same time he didn't seem to be affected by the unusual silent anger and snide remarks that Saxin perpetually directed at him. In the same way, the way Luo Zhan (Ding Ye) behaved towards Li Zan is a little atypical of a normal "buddy" relationship among men. But all these subtleties (and sometimes not so subtle interactions) made the show a more interesting watch. Zheng Yingchen did well as the annoying character Shen Bei, whom in the end was the person who (unintentionally) caused the lead couple's tragedy by convincing Song Ran to delay their departure from East Nation by a few more days.
The story itself would not suit an audience looking for an easy watch given the heavy themes and war background, and the scripting is terrible at many parts, with badly worded and spoken English. There are a few nice songs in the soundtrack but seriously, does so much of it need to be in English?
Having completed watching this serial drama, would I have watched it if I could choose all over again? Yes, only for one reason. Chen Zheyuan's performance was stunning, especially his portrayal of Li Zan from the point of the fatal explosion that claimed the life of his buddy Jiang Lin (Wang Zhuocheng). The mental, emotional and physical trauma and decline suffered by Li Zan demanded an extremely intensive performance and Chen Zheyuan has surprised me with the depth of his portrayal. So, kudos to Chen Zheyuan. I think this piece of work has raised him to a new height as an actor.

38 episodes and I didn't feel immersed
Main things:ML and FLwere not that compatible. Had opposite personality.. (no connection)
Unrealistic plot as why does FLget saved by ML everytime in this "East Country"
When FL was a reporter and was going to East country, she was allowed to go alone? especially in a dangerous country..
Animations and CGI was not it
The voice overs for speaking English was bad.. like why are they randomly speaking Chinese when they are with the orphans? Kinda awkward if we take into consideration their POV
Xiaonan and Ben needed more interactions
Benjamin & Sasin acting was good and had some synergy and plot buildin
Shen Bei had some good acting too as it shows her personality changing overtime
Overall, with 38 episodes there is usually higher expectations as there is more time to be immersed in the plot but the middle episodes were kind of not my type as nothing interesting was happening. The drama is not unwatchable but just don't get your hopes up. My rating of 6.5 means that it is watchable but don't expect much from this drama.

Beautiful to the point of tears
I can't think of another show that has made me cry so much - in a way that is both sad and beautiful. So touching scenes, music and feelings ❤This will definitely be one of the series I will remember forever. So much love for people, so much kindness. So many pure relationships on every level.
White Olive is definitely a show that leaves a mark in your heart, precisely because it's not something to be taken lightly.
The musical director has many fine projects behind him, I'll just mention Eternal Brotherhood, Journey to Love, Wonderland of Love and You Are My Glory, but that's not all. An interesting detail is that he is also the performer of one of the songs in the series, which is very touching - Moonlight, performed in English.

Amazing cdrama, unforgettable story
The story of Li Zan, Song Ran and their friends & coworkers. The show starts fast, but not in a bad point of view. Everything is described carefully. After few plot twists, we are shaken by the big amounth of emotions, or at least I was. But dont be sad for too long, cuz we are on the journey with characters and we are able to see their ups and downs, their happy moments and sad moments. The whole drama showed us, what love can do, showed us the importance of communication and not to keep problems just to ourselves. It is definitely something new, that we haven´t seen. It leaves unforgettable memories in my mind. I might or might not rewatch it, but I will never forget this. (I actually might rewatch this, because its masterpiece!)Yes, some of us didnt get their "dream ending", but if we have watched the show carefully, in this world its the realistic ending. I know, I have cried a lot, and I mean A LOT, but somehow, it is not that bad ending, they survived together, got married and even went to the other world together. For them, they finally found their peace, they dont need to be scared of anything now.
For the actors - they did an amazing job, the whole plot literally "sucked" me in. CZY showed us an amazing character, the same goes for Liang Jie, she has got lot hate comments for her acting, but not in my opinion. She did also really good and showed us perfectly her character and emotions. But praise need also other actors, I would say all of them did an amazing job, because if there is one person who dont know what to do, it will affect the whole show.
The OST? Amazing. Moving. I love to listen to it, when I need to calm down or anything. Yes, it also makes me cry because of memories and realization, but this OST deserves a praise aswell.
So far, its really one of the best cdramas I have ever watched. Whole storyline is really great and show us, that these things are happening in this world and we should cherish the fact, that we dont have to live in this situation. Also, it makes me realise that army, volunteers, doctors and other people are fighting there for peace, for their families, and they should be never forgotten.
