-pretty realistic otherwise
-developed characters

-magic could have more explanation
-the switching of scenes happened to fast. This could have been an 9.00 if the scenes weren't cut so quickly

Acting:
-excellent. I didn't think I'd love Chen Fei Yu and Zhou Ye together as much as I did!
-they both cried incredibly well
-side characters aren't memorable.

-styling needs to mention. Gorgeous. Both their clothes are beautiful and Zhou Ye's hair was great

-fit the vibe

THAT PERSON YOU'LL DIE FOR...

I have a very hard time reviewing movies because I'm a "series " girlie.
I like to explore a story, see characters development over time, so movies are a bit ostic to judge.

plot:
a boy and a girl , who met as kid, see each other again once adult. they fall in love but destiny is not always in our hands..or is it?

the plot is very simple and not that deep which means there isn't that much to talk about.

why do these candles work they they do? I don't know.
does it have something to do with his mother? we don't know.

that's what is good and bad about movies... you have to take everything at face value because there is no time to explore anything.

we speed run through their love story which is basically done in 2 minutes. I didn't feel a particular connection to them but overall we can still feel the love they have for each other.

there is no time to get attached to them as people so I just focused on something universal: the pain of losing your loved one.

you enjoy the movie not because of what is happening TO THEM but because of WHAT is happening to them.

you still feel the fear, the urgency , the worry and the pain even though, unlike other reviewers , I didn't end up crying.

I didn't quite like that the FL tried to contact the ml after her wish because that would basically break the pact you made with destiny.

I think it would have added more pathos If she just stopped looking for him.

the ending is happy because it seems that fate is letting them finally rekindle.

the acting was good overall, the tone of the movie felt right.

definitely an easy watch but don't expect nothing devastating.

Una chicca di romance che sfida il destino e ci ricorda l'importanza degli affetti quotidiani

Questo è un film al quale ricorrere quando si è alla ricerca di una piccola coccola. La trama non è niente di nuovo, ma garantisce una comfort-zone di tutto rispetto. Ideale per una piccola pausa all’insegna di quel romanticismo non travolgente o epico, ma che al contrario ci ricorda quanto sia importante non dare per scontato gli affetti, anche e soprattutto nella quotidianità. Lo sviluppo del romance è semplice, le nubi all’orizzonte prevedibili… Un destino che necessita di essere cambiato – e qui il tocco fantasy consente diverse possibilità per farlo – e ricordare ancora una volta cosa è veramente importante. Onestamente non eccelle su nessun fronte, in termini di budget non un grande investimento, regia e scenografia nella media, un po’ deludente quanto a OST, mentre rispetto al cast è stata fatta forse la scelta più importante. I personaggi secondari trovano ben poco spazio e nessun margine di sviluppo, ma nel ruolo dei protagonisti troviamo due attori giovani e di talento – Chen Fei Yu e Zhou Ye – capaci di portare in scena una coppia accattivante, bella da vedere e capace di emozionare, con una buona sintonia e alchimia, sebbene non stellare. Lei più seria che in altri lavori (esempio “Back from the brink”) e lui bravo nel caratterizzare un ragazzo normale e ordinario, molto lontano da altri ruoli interpretati in passato (Lighter&Princess, Evernight, ecc.). Il tempo risicato costringe a sorvolare su molti dettagli – in primis il collegamento tra le candeline della torta e il viaggio nel tempo - che sarebbero risultati di certo più approfonditi se si fosse trattato di un drama invece che di un film. Ma la sua piacevolezza sta anche nella durata contenuta, che consente di apprezzare il romanticismo in piccola dose, senza per forza doversi imbarcare in una sequenza più o meno infinita di episodi.
Personalmente trovo che il film sia stato sottovalutato, non è certo una pietra miliare ma è comunque una commedia romantica piacevole e ben fatta, che ha indubbiamente il suo perché. Una visione ben equilibrata e soddisfacente, capace di far stringere il cuore e poi riscaldarlo in eguale e giusta misura.

Cara,isso acabou comigo.
Depois de ler algumas resenhas,resolvi arriscar em apertar o play. Foi um filme que eu não derramei muitas lágrimas,mas cada cena tocou meu coração de uma forma melancólica. Ambos queriam um ao outro vivo,não importavam as consequências que isso poderia trazer. Isso me fez refletir que o amor é algo tão profundo e inexplicável...
Enfim,é recomendável assisti-lo em um dia chuvoso,especialmente,tomando um chocolate quente,enquanto se esquenta sob uma coberta quentinha.
