What Happens When Dong Jin Isn’t in Your Life?
Honestly, the premise itself was already kind of off — like, this idea that people get physically hurt if they fall in love with her? It’s interesting, sure, but the show didn’t really build a logical or believable world around it. The whole “10-minute rule” was kind of silly, and the way they used it felt super inconsistent. Sometimes it felt like they were trying to force drama with rules that didn’t even make sense if you actually thought about them. The pacing was weird too — it was super slow in the beginning with a lot of repetitive scenes, but then everything suddenly sped up toward the end. Like out of nowhere, Dong Jin’s friend is also cursed? And Minjeong’s friend is her love interest? What?? It felt rushed and not well set up.
I get that the show wanted to focus on emotional isolation and maybe show that Dong Jin was this selfless guy trying to help others, but it still didn’t really land. I didn’t feel the love. When Minjeong confessed in the end, I was just like… okay? Sure, she worried about him, but love? I didn’t buy it.
There were some sweet little moments, and the idea of someone finally seeing and caring for Minjeong is touching, but the romantic payoff didn’t match the emotional build-up. It tried to be deep and emotional, but the lack of proper answers and the weirdly constructed rules just made it feel kind of hollow. Like… how many people are walking around cursed like that? And what happens to people who don’t have a “Dong Jin” to rescue them?
So yeah. It wasn’t all bad, but I get why the reviews are mixed.

*Breakdown on Her Being THE WITCH* ? INSANELY CRAZY BRILLANT!!!
EXCELLENT K-DRAMA!!!!!!When I first started watching this ... it wasn't a kind of genre that I felt would interest me. However... from the very beginning it latched on to my curiosity and kept me there.
The devastation living with the knowledge that because of liking/loving you .... causes them to get physically hurt or even worse, lose their life.
So, knowing this ... you take yourself an proceed to lock yourself up in a bubble away from the public in fear of you unintentionally harming them. Your mental strength has to be strong enough to endure such torment around you. I couldn't do it ... I couldn't stand to not only isolate myself, but deal with the hate & rumours of being someone that causes pain and death.
My tear fell watching what this young lady went through ... seeing how much she became a lonely island of beauty filled with fear and pain. Yes, being young can cause you to do stupid things ... but to spread vicious & toxic rumours just out of jealousy is something not everyone can emotionally and mentally endure in their life. So, why push them over the cliff by such hateful words, just to ease your vanity?
The story took a more interesting turn when Lee Dong Jin wanted to find the explanation of her being *The Witch*, he didn't want to truly believe that such a person exist... coincidence maybe? Yet, 10 years later he still searches for answers .. although he didn't believe what he found out ... he wanted to badly to prove to himself that he can one day bring light back to Park Mi Jeong life. Would it be possible????
Lee Dong Jin found another lonely island .... and approach him to let him know that light does exist. A friend that will be there no matter what.
What is the secret ... the more he investigates ... closer than 10m ... longer than 10 min ... how much will he continue to endure to find the *Variable* that will keep him by Her side? OR will he lose his life first before finding it?
I'm so grateful that I watch this incredible drama ... it not only touched the heart and had all the intense feelings for both Lee Dong Jin & Park Mi Jeong. It also had a wise message within the pain that she went though in High school & college. It opens up the eyes to how much pain and damage spreading rumours ... whether true or not. Thank goodness, she had the mental & emotional strength to not allow toxic words bring her to a point of no return .... Thank goodness the friend Heo Eun Si she met stood by her 101%.
10 Golden Nuggets to Each of the Actors/Actresses
The Ost's ... Beautiful and Heart touching.
This drama will remain in my list to *Worth A Re-Watch* list.
Bravo to the Original Creator: Kang Full, Screen Writer : Cho Yu Jin & Director: Kim Tae Gyoon

What if death follows you?
I was really intrigued by the synopsis of this drama, and to be honest, as I just got to know Jinyoung as a member of Got7, I was really looking forward to his acting. And I have to say, I wasn‘t disappointed!First, this drama contains elements of romance, mystery, crime and sometimes even comedy. If you expect a lot of lovey-doves scenes, this drama is not for you. However, I became really invested in the development of the ML and FL‘s lovestory. It develops really slowly, and sometimes you think why the heck am I watching all those subplots, but be patient, it all comes together!
The FL got on my nerves in between, because she was such a soft character…but as her story became clear it was also understandable why she acted that way. Dong Jin is such a sweetheart… first it is a bit creepy how he follows the FL and to what lengths he goes to be near her… but again, as her story unfolds his actions and motivation become clear.
I also have to talk about the visuals and the setting… omg the scenes are so beautiful, and the play with light and darkness really helps to create a certain atmosphere.
All in all, I am still surprised how much I loved this slow paced drama. It‘s really worth watching!

This drama also falls into the category of dramas with wasted potential.
If I were to describe the drama in one word, it would undoubtedly be mystery. The plot revolves around enigmatic incidents, which kept me intrigued enough to watch until the end. However, the reliance on complicated statistical data—comprehensible only to ML—left me feeling disengaged and, frankly, bored. For a 10-episode drama, the pacing was frustratingly sluggish. The story dwelled excessively on past events, while the present storyline offered little beyond ML's constant stalking of FL. There was no meaningful development of feelings between the main leads. The romance felt hollow and unconvincing. To me, FL's confession of love seemed forced, done only to ensure ML's survival. When did she even fall for him? Only she knows, as her understanding of him came at the very end. Their connection was so shallow they barely knew each other, let alone could speak of love.
The secondary couple's relationship was equally baffling. They were given a mere two episodes, and those were dominated by the main leads' drama. Their bond appeared to form out of convenience rather than genuine emotion. I can't even classify it as love—there were no signs or moments to suggest it. It seemed like filler to use up screen time.
As for the "witch" element, it was severely underexplained. Was it a curse, a metaphor, or something else entirely? The drama never clarified. What could have been a fascinating thread was reduced to a backdrop for ML's obsession with FL and his obscure statistical data.

Uniqueness
Most of the time, K-drama is known for its romcom or action series/movies, but it's unique. These types of dramas are not made that much; if made, they would be underrated, and I can see by some people's reactions in reviews about this drama in my view that it's slow, but it's a good type of slow; I don't find it boring. I love the small details and how we can see the male and female lead perspectives and how I feel that ending will be jaw-dropping that we, the audience, didn't predict. This drama has lots of depth; if you are searching for a comedy cliche love story, this drama is not for you guys. It's unique. It's a little slow because it's showing the story's small details from both leads perspectives over the same events. Was this review helpful to you?
Coming out of the box, The Witch is breaking records.
I have high expectations for the Korean Drama The Witch (2025). It is based off of the Webtoon "Manyeo", by Kang Full. This is the writer who brought us the Award Winning an highly decorated Korean Dramas Moving and Light Shop. The Witch is a delicious Mystery Romance Drama, which is a captivating character study. The story is served up with the refined script-writing of Cho Yu Jin and has great cinematography. Watch how in the opening episode, in one scene, the snow is drifting upwards to the sky and not downwards, casting a haunting effect.
Can persons be cursed? It seems that a young lady (Park Mi-jeong played by Roh Jeong-eui) has the frequent misfortune to witness all those who come to her bravely to express their love meet accidental death or severe injury. This gets Park Mi-jeong labeled as a Witch by many, as her schoolmates ostracize her. Eventually she withdraws from the town and from life.
A Data Miner and logical thinker who is ruled by numbers (Lee Dong-jin played by Park Jin-young) went to high school with this unfortunate girl. Lee Dong-jin always had sympathized with Park Mi-jeong. However, he wanted to find a logical reason for these seeming mysterious coincidences, or are they? Should he risk his life to find out?
Lee Dong-jin runs into Park Mi-jeong several years after graduating from High School. He wonders if the girl is living well in later years. A chance meeting, and he follows her home.
Murphy’s Law
Does Park Mi-jeong suffer from the Murphy’s Law syndrome? It states “ Anything that can go wrong will go wrong”. We will find out with the outcome of the Korean Drama The Witch.
Quote from Lee Dong-jin— “The Laws of Death are following her like a curse.”
Cast:
The Witch stars K-pop Idol from GOT7 and Actor Park Jin-young (Legend of the Blue Sea, Reborn Rich) and actress Roh Jeong-eui (Dear. M, Crushology 101).

Jinyoung's acting is phenomenal. I like the contrast between his student and adult versions.
I didn't know the female actress but she left a good impression on me. I was able to empathize with her.
I wish I could watch all the episodes right away and solve the mystery of the witch.

Engaging
So Before writing this review I would like to tell that I am in a kdrama slump last drama I completed kicking and screaming was Mr plankton and Queen of tears ( bcoz it was trending alot and I am in love with kwak dongyeon )I have been waiting for this one because of The Moving obviously!
Okay now review of Ep 1 so far is biggest thing for me engagement i got into the show pretty fast for my current attention span i didn't touch my phone for that reason only it deserves a watch. From very start intresting things are happening into the show and you are Curious about it! The Ep 1 is a nice mastery on how you keep up with the plotline you wanna show without dragging and also give good enough dose of yearning from your male lead for female lead. They also make you curious about The infamous witch about how she knows about this curse of her does she know whats wrong with her? This will take you back to the show bcoz yes I do wanna know if this is actually supernatural show or this is just a strange phenomena of baddest luck.
Toodles that's it for my review.
Oh yes Jinyoung was really sexy in that last scene in tight black shirt ✌️
P.s..just noticed but witchywitch is my username from before it's not related to this show but I guess this is my destiny 😂

Great acting, intriguing story.
Park Jinyoung brought Lee Dongjin's emotions to life beautifully. The way Jinyoung altered his voice for the two different timelines makes the passage of time in the show more believable, and it's something I haven't seen in many other shows. His playfulness during the student days or his slightly mischievous antics with his mom are so endearing. And the contrast of the grown up version of the character was executed artfully. Especially, the scene where he goes "Do you believe witches exist?" was so good.
Not really familiar with Roh Jeongeui's previous work but she was great in this show so far. Really looking forward to the next episodes!
