Love Reset Review - ZyKuu

"Amnesia can hurt the brain, but not the heart" - The story is very playful and comedic. A car accident resets the memories of both our main leads Hong Na-ra and Noh Jung-yeol whom were planning on divorcing each other. This leads to them spending time together from a different perspective compared to what they were used to prior. Na-ra and Jung-yeol are opposites that attracted. Hong Na-ra is a movie producer who lives dirty and wants to stay indoors, meanwhile Noh Jung-yeol is a lawyer who wants lives clean and wants to be outdoors. Their dynamic is very funny and they have good chemistry. Jung-yeol's acting was the highlight of the film for me. His facial expressions and goofy nature was a spectacle to watch. The OST from what I recall was just background music used to to enhance specific moments, there wasn't really any songs that I remember hearing apart from what Na-ra's sister was singing. Overall this movie is entertaining, and I would recommend it to anybody who's interested in watching a laid back romantic comedy.

A very quick romcom. The fighting phase is intense and the reconsiliation phase is swoonworthy. I feel the 30 days waiting time was too quick, they should've dive deeper about how they both fall in love again . They added too much cliche here. White Truck of Doom and double amnesia, but dang it, they made it important to the story. The comedy level is really good here, even though most of them were just slapsticks. Kang Haneul and Jung So Min both delivered it very well.

Overall it's refreshing to watch. Rewatch if you need a refreshment from your tense daily life.

Love Buried Under a Whole Lot of Animosity

My rating: 8.5/10

Review

For what it was, Love Reset was really good. It was clearly meant to lean more comedic than anything else, and I'm super impressed because they pulled off a major turnaround that I genuinely didn't think was possible (no spoilers here on why). The acting from Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min was excellent, and the story stayed interesting enough that I kept watching even when one particular point I considered stopping. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quirky thriller-romance hybrid—it's not your typical feel-good fluff. It's more of a darkish, relatable take on marriage struggles that might make some viewers feel truly heard in its portrayal of how resentment builds. It's unique and thoughtful in a genre that's often predictable.

Spoilers

I had serious doubts about No Jeong-yeol and Hong Na-ra getting back together, given how much they seemed to genuinely dislike each other before the accident. How could memory loss alone fix that level of bitterness? But then I stepped back and thought about real-life couples I've known—several who hit rock bottom, made huge mistakes against each other, reached a point of near-hatred, then had some kind of reset (a breakup, a crisis, time apart) and realized the "big" issues weren't actually that big.  That's exactly what happens here: they were stuck in a toxic cycle of nitpicking faults, often as self-defense because each felt unloved or constantly annoyed by the other. The surprise for me was how well they showed that growth—it wasn't just "amnesia = bliss." No Jeong-yeol remembered everything in the end, and he didn't deny the bad memories or pretend the new start erased them; he acknowledged the pain and chose to move past it thoughtfully. That made the transition feel earned and realistic, especially since Hong Na-ra was arguably harsher to him pre-amnesia, while he had already fixed a lot of what bothered her. Even if she regained her memory fully, there'd be enough good new memories to outweigh the old ones.

I'm superstitious enough that if something like double traumatic head-injury amnesia happened in real life (and they both survived the crash, which was called a miracle), I'd see it as fate or destiny giving them another shot—it's that rare.  So, there's also that. Even though it was hard in the beginning seeing them being able to resolve that much animosity, t felt like there was some fate rolled in or how could such an unlikely thing happen. Two people, on the eve of divorce and both of them not only live through a severe accident but develop almost identical amnesia.

Hong Na-ra's mother, Joo Sook-jeong, was the most interesting character—I couldn't figure her out at first. She seemed so severe and like she'd never accept No Jeong-yeol, but in the end, I admired her because her bottom line was just wanting her daughter to be happy.

The fourth-wall breaks, especially with the crypto kid bit where they point out "he's got lines," and a few other moments, added a fun, quirky element. It wasn't necessary, but it wasn't annoying either—it lightened the mood without derailing things.

I did almost quit halfway through—the middle dragged a bit with the families trying to keep them apart and No Jeong-yeol and Hong Na-ra going along with it. At that point, I wasn't even rooting for them and thought they should just divorce anyway. But I'm glad I stuck it out. The unique turnaround was handled in such a thoughtful way, and it made the whole thing rewarding.

Possibly the worst romcom I've ever seen

Wow. I'm a huge fan of both leads but the story was atrocious, characters were absolutely terrible, and the chemistry was just not there.
The FL was barely developed at all, and the ML was so freaking annoying the whole time. I honestly only kept watching so I could see Jung Somin's beauty for an hour or so. They almost had something interesting with her mom, but left it pretty underdeveloped.
Don't waste your time on this garbage.

Funny and entertaining romcom, but has been done better in k-dramas

I enjoyed this movie. It had maybe comical scenes and interesting characters. I loved the mother-in-law who, in the end, only wanted her daughter's happiness.

The movie was filled with tropes, but I felt the movie was using them to wink at its audience.

But what I found disappointing about this movie is that little explanation was given to show us why they fell in love. When at the end, the ML is asked to remember all the good memories and all he manages is to remember all the bad ones instead and decides it doesn't matter. I understand this was because there were no such scenes to begin with, proving my point. All we saw was why they wanted a divorce. This felt a bit unbalanced.

There also was no explanation given as to why the relationship went downhill. The FL was a bit of a slob, according to the ML, and the ML tended to be fastidious.

Without understanding what went wrong, and no character growth whatsoever, I see their relationship as history that is doomed to repeat itself.

But I feel that several dramas did a better job of handling the "love reset" theme. Go Back Couple, time travel is used to "reset" the relationship, but the theme is the same. Just like Love Reset, the beginning starts with the end of the relationship, but by the end, both the audience and the characters understand what led them there, and what went wrong and how to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

If you want a quick and funny movie without any depth this is for you. If you want to explore the theme more satisfyingly, Go Back Couple is for you.

Chaotic and fun comedy

this was fun, very reminiscent of 2016 drama. the acting was good , the comedy was not doing too much but i do wish the lather episode was fleshed out more. The ending fell flat for me as it felt rushed , they needed more time to explore their relationship when everything was out in the open but it suddenly just was tied it conveniently and we just needed to accept it.

very chaotic!!

THIS MOVIE IS REALLY FUNNY. not even a one scene is cringe or not funny. my comfort drama frfr.

haneul and somin's chemistry is really strong. no signs of awkwardness or not being close.

Their dynamic is so entertaining, whether they’re bickering, working together, or rediscovering their love. You can really feel their connection, making the romantic moments even more special.

The story itself is refreshing. The amnesia plotline is used in such a fun way, keeping things unpredictable and engaging. The humor is top-notch, and even the supporting characters add so much charm. There’s a great balance between laugh-out-loud moments and heartfelt scenes that make you root for the characters.

I seriously wish more Korean movies were like this! It’s the perfect mix of fun, chaos, and romance. If you need a feel-good movie that keeps you entertained from start to finish, this one is a must-watch.

This movie is really comedy-romance, not romance-comedy. BCS IT IS THAT FUNNY. wish there's more korean movies like this Read More

LOVED IT SO MUCH

I loved the K-drama Love Reset because it offered the perfect blend of heart-fluttering romance, comforting humor, and emotional honesty. From the very beginning, the drama pulled me in with its unusual premise—a couple on the brink of separation forced to rediscover their connection. Instead of following the typical storyline of two strangers falling in love, Love Reset explored what it means to fall in love again with someone you already know deeply, flaws and all. That freshness made every episode feel unpredictable and exciting.
The chemistry between the leads was another huge reason this drama stood out. Their banter felt natural, their emotional moments felt genuine, and even their arguments were filled with a rawness that made the relationship feel real. I found myself rooting for them not because the script told me to, but because their journey made me reflect on how love can evolve, break, and rebuild. Watching them rediscover small things—shared memories, inside jokes, tiny gestures—was incredibly heartwarming.
I also loved how Love Reset balanced comedy with sincerity. The comedic timing was impeccable, offering laugh-out-loud moments that lightened the more emotional scenes. Side characters added warmth and charm without overshadowing the main couple, and the pacing kept me engaged from start to finish.
But what truly stayed with me was the drama’s message: love isn’t only about passion; it’s also about patience, vulnerability, and choosing each other even when it’s difficult. Love Reset reminded me that relationships aren’t perfect, yet they can be beautiful when two people are willing to grow together.
Overall, I loved Love Reset because it made me laugh, made me feel, and ultimately made me believe in second chances.

Great Comedy But Short on Romance

I watched this out of boredom and didn’t expect it to be this funny and entertaining!

It’s about a married couple whose once-beautiful love story turns into a nightmare. They constantly fight and hate each other so much that they decide to get a divorce. They’re given 30 days to finalize the decision, but an accident causes them both to lose their memories.

Through flashbacks, we see how they originally fell in love. However, because of misunderstandings and poor communication, they end up forgetting why they loved each other in the first place. The bad memories eventually outweigh the good ones.

Despite the premise, this movie is more of a comedy than a romance. It felt a bit lacking in the romance department. I wish we had seen more depth in what they loved about each other beyond “he’s cute” or “she’s pretty.” I kept waiting for a scene where they rediscover and actually verbalize the good things they love about one another, something that could mirror the court scene where they list everything they hate about each other, but it never comes.

The ending is fine, but I don’t like that it ends with Nara still not getting her memories back. It feels incomplete because we never get to see her decision once she remembers how much she hates him, or whether that hatred softens after forming new, happier memories.

The two leads, Kang Haneul and Jung Somin, have great chemistry and solid comedic timing. The rest of the cast also delivers strong performances.

Overall, I had a lot of fun with this, and it genuinely made me laugh. 8/10 ⭐️

Lacked the Emotions

After the whole lot of yourube shorts recommendation of this Film I finally watched it. Its a fun plot with good acting but I feel it might have done better as a Drama wherein the writers could have shown more deeply into the emotions of the main and side characters....i just couldnt feel the presence of side characters and their importance. Also some characters were so annoying like i just fast forwarded at so many points..... I just couldnt feel any emotions building up in me.... neither to laugh or to cry or pure rage....at certain points i did find it Gross though.
Maybe a deeper insight into as to why the main leads changed so much after marriage would have been interesting

Bitter, sweet, fun

Like most who watched this, I enjoyed it. I watched it with my wife, and we both laughed a lot throughout. We've been married nearly as long as the leads have have been alive, so the OTT rage was genuinely funny for us. Sveral have commented on the chemistry between Jeong So Min and Kang Ha Neul, and there's no question that was central to the movie's success. Both delivered very good performances, and Jeong So Min especially cemented my high opion of her as an actor. The first thing my wife said when Jeong So Min first appeared on screen in this movie was"she's really pretty". and obviously I can't disagree. But her range even in a light romcom like this was impressive. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting an uncomplicated and genuinely funny romance
