One of my favs ?
The Blossoming Love is a refreshing 2025 standout that successfully pulled me back into the world of C-dramas. Despite being filmed some time ago, the production feels high-quality, especially the stunning costume design for the female lead. While the storyline is quite stressful, it remains incredibly interesting and worth rewatching multiple times. Between the top-tier acting from one of my favorite actresses and a beautiful OST that ties everything together, this drama is an absolute must-watch that I highly recommend. 💕✨Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful Xianxia, perfect aesthetics, but the storyline is a headache :(
PLOT: The ML, formerly Emperor Zhao Ming, sacrificed himself to protect humanity. He is reincarnated thanks to a part of his soul integrated into the FL, the Pearl of Chaos. In this life, Zhao Ming is Xie Xue Chen, heir to the Immortal Alliance, and his lover is Mu Xuan Ling, (the FL) Saintess of the Abyss Realm. Neither of them has any memory of their shared past(s), but destiny constantly pushes them towards each other, despite their opposing statuses. The ML2, one-sided lover of the FL, Master of the Verdant Heights / Destiny, (ambiguous character) can only witness and more or less participate in the events.1st story arc [eps. 1 to 15]: Descent of the FL among mortals.
2nd story arc [eps. 16 to 22]: Return of the amnesiac FL among mortals.
Episode 22: FL regains his memory
Next episodes: Answers related to immortals.
Episode 29: Return of the Demon Lord
[eps 30-35]: What happened 10,000 years ago
[eps 36-40]: Problem resolution and a big fight.
+++ Fascinating CL (Zhang Bin Bin & Sun Zhen Ni (very young, but talented))
+++ A lot (really a lot :) handsome actors (◍´͈ꈊ`͈◍)
+++ Complex (often too much) characters, but well-developed . Wang Duo (ML2) is the best example.
+++ Magnificent cinematography (framing, lighting, effects, costumes, sets, OSTs). The aesthetic of this series is flawless.
### An excessively complex, even twisted story, with a multitude of "levels" (which are difficult to understand how they fit together). Okay, the viewer is kept under pressure, faced with the unexpected in every episode, but the author / writer must be suffering [supervising? writing under coke?] to have written such a story.
### Speed 1.5 for eps 26-28 because of the many flashbacks and that became boring...
### A storyline so complex that there are still plenty of plot holes (even inconsistencies) at the end of the drama (HE).
=> Magnificent series, with perfect aesthetics, but with an overly complex, even tortured storyline.

In Awe
Some random thoughts... This drama is truly in a league of its own.. I'm a sucker for love through different lifetimes, Love above all... maybe it's the mature but classy romance but the only other Xianxia that's made me feel this way has been Legend of Shen Li. Also, you never see Pearl and ZM kiss, which was interesting, but still felt the love.I ADORED ML in every form, so i didnt get 2ML syndrome but i seriously wanted him with FY!! I had mixed feelings about him but loved him overall. He made me mad, sad, even embarrassed at times. FY broke my heart.
Thankfully, they didnt overdo all the sadness but when the Jade Sky Palace couple died, i CRIED. And I'm not a crier. I greatly appreciated Miss Gao and her man getting a redemption after their tragic past.
It was extremely satisfying to see all the revelations... secrets are a pet peeve of mine. Many characters learned about their past selves, FY's brother finds out she was his sister, Bao finds her dad, Sangi finds out what REALLY happened the day he lost his arm, Phoenix lady finds out about her love and the endless cycle, etc. Also, I wanted to share a theory on the ending which kind of confused me, screenshot is attached- lmk your thoughts!!
I already want to rewatch. Usually I'm depressed after a binge, but I'm not because I fully feel like I can just watch it again. It's so good from start to finish. I think because i was never bored, i enjoyed EVERY arc and I'm so glad i watched it🌸🌼

i loved this drama but wished for more romance ….
I really enjoyed this drama like a lot. i loved the romance even though i wish there was more … between xie xuang and mu xiuan ling. especially the the beginning even though he was cold hearted i really loved the banter between then and how hard she was trying to get him to fall in love with her. all those scenes made me smile and sometimes laugh. i fell in love with her personality and his too even much more later when he opened his heart to her.i loved all the sides characters and there personality’s too though nan xu was annoying me the whole way through the drama because of his love for mu xiuan. like BOYYY she doesn’t love you get over it and the fact that the person who truly loved him died .. and he’s just like … I didn’t really like his character but i admire him for his sacrifice in the end to save the xiuan. it’s honestly sad he never found love … well he could’ve but … yeah.
the back and forth with xie xuang’s character and what happened with his past self was sad … it made me feel sad for his past self and how he ended up where he is and how his love sacrificed herself for him … all of it honestly the entire story was sad and the fact that he couldn’t stops fate amd everything happened like it did beforehand … at least he knows that pearl loves him though he’s not together with her. we atleast have mu xiuan and xie xuang.
the ending was eeeh … it was confusing, i think i know what happened in the end but I can’t help to feel like another ep or two was needed to explain some things before the ending but still atleast they were together in the end and that’s all that matters.
I’m hoping china makes more drama’s like this because when I watch drama especially fantasy .. THIS is what I want to hopefully they step up there game a bit and make more dramas like soo but obviously with more romance and a less confusing ending.
anyways besides all the i would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone who loves romance and celestial/fantasy genres. this is my favorite drama of c dramas and this was one of the few nice ones i watched in a while.

It's a lot and understanding the drama is essential in appreciating the totality of the drama
This drama is probably one of the most, if not the most extensive drama, I've ever watched. So many couples, a lot of side stories, still I liked that all of it formed a complete story. As for the people that doesn't like the change in the latter half of the drama, It might be because there was a change in the dynamics between the leads, and somehow the romance felt flat for other viewers. Another was the convoluted plot at the latter half of the drama that set people off. I understand maybe they could've made it shorter, as for how, I don't know. Maybe people were turned off with the shift of tone and themes in the latter half of the drama. As for me I liked it from start to finish, though you need to actually have the motivation and focus to appreciate this drama, if I compare it to others, this drama is genuinely packed with so many things. To me the second half was more coherent and I had less criticisms of it, while the start was definitely more exciting and fun to watch especially the leads, but I just can't get around with some stuff. Especially the way they could just have killed the male lead early in the story, I know he needs to live to continue the story, but the way they went about it was insane, like all the plotting to kill the male lead but then not doing so, without any actual reason other than just sparing the male lead, then later on they talk about killing the male lead, when they could've done so earlier, that's one of the criticisms I have, there are more for the first half but my review would be too long. The "god" (Hao Tian) of this drama is probably the most human like god I've seen in drama's, he wasn't omnipotent or omniscient and the way he carried out his actions, is just like how your boss tells you to do something, he even displayed emotions. One last criticism I'll say is, the lack of substantial reasoning that one of the villains(He Xian Wo) had in doing their bidding, my guy did all of the things he did for what, just to become a hypocrite? Like he was mad with the things the divine clan did, but then he acts like one, disregarding the life of both humans and the spirit clan, just to cry at the end of his life, what even was he so mad for. Regardless of my criticisms, my favourite part of this drama was the acting, all through out the cast and characters, everyone did really well, that's why i think this drama is underrated, the performance of the cast was great. I think this drama deserves at least a rating of 8.5, I fail to see why people don't like the second half, sure the exciting romance that we see in the first half is gone, but the second half was necessary to complete the story. I would definitely recommend this to someone who isn't hung up with one thing in a drama, but someone who can see the value of the totality of the drama. Was this review helpful to you?
plot seems kinda cliche
honestly I love the FL and ML in this and the casting could not be more on point for this show but the plot of like yk ostracised races and all seems a bit overused and like rlly just not a fan of these kinds of plots cos I seem too many of them. Not only that but the relationship between the leads are kinda cliche and overused; again this is just my own personal opinion so like no hate pls. I love Sun Zhen Ni’s acting as this cheeky and shameless demon saintess and that was what rlly got me to watch this drama because of what ive seen of her in til the end of the moonWas this review helpful to you?
frustrating experience
"The Blossoming Love" is a series that promised a heartwarming romantic journey but ended up being a frustrating experience. From the very beginning, the plot felt clichéd and predictable, lacking any originality or fresh ideas. It seemed as though the writers were relying on tired tropes without adding any new twists or depth.
Character development was virtually nonexistent. The protagonists were one-dimensional, with motivations that felt forced and unrealistic. I found it hard to connect with them or care about their relationship, which is critical in a romance series. Their interactions often felt awkward and lacked the chemistry that is essential for a believable love story.
The pacing was another major issue. The story dragged on with unnecessary filler scenes that contributed nothing to the plot. By the time I reached the end, I felt exhausted rather than fulfilled.
Visually, the production quality was subpar, with uninspired cinematography that failed to capture any of the emotional moments.
Overall, "The Blossoming Love" is a disappointing series that misses the mark on nearly every front. It’s hard to recommend it to anyone, and I can only give it a 1/10 for the effort. It’s a forgettable experience that left me wishing I had spent my time on something more worthwhile.

Beautiful Story
I’ve been waiting for FL- Sun Zhen Ni to get her time in the spotlight! She did not disappoint! The love between FL/ML through all the different lives and their journey is so sweet. Storyline had a good pace, great OST, amazing costumes and makeup, side characters getting their stories told… highly recommend. Director and production team did really good on this drama! Was this review helpful to you?
Good drama for the start of 2025
The blossoming love was such a satisfying, entertaining drama that gave me the kind of story I've always wanted! When I first saw the trailer, I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it because it looked too comedic for my tastes, but I soon realized that the comedy also served to offer insights into our characters. The main characters are so well-developed that I truly loved each of them. Was this review helpful to you?
Definitely you will not regret watching this
This drama is enjoyable and fun to watch, and CGI and effects are amazing.all the characters have their own stories and help us to know their personality well.
I really love both main couples and the way that they fall in love. I also really liked that Second lead Acting and charisma
The excellent actors and actresses of this series immerse you in their story with their unique acting, and this is very exciting because you can easily understand and sympathize with their feelings and understand the story better.
You can laugh and cry with all characters.

Not so interesting, but cast is good
Cast bears this show, which is a bit boring, had to ff many times and also story got really really complicated around ep 25, 27... So many complications and twist that it got a bit too overwhelming.Another boring episode ant that will be end of watching for me
Bing Bing not bad, though his acts are similar...
Female lead is refreshing and interesting

Personal top 3 worst (most frustrating and self-righteous) love dramas
I'll keep it short. If I could give this drama 0, I would. The most frustrating, self-righteous, and quite hypocritical writing and the most forced main couple I have seen so far. Right up there with Alchemy of Souls and K2. Quite boring ML, absolute zero char development (along with a bad actor - like if you're gonna play the god almighty you better bring your A game otherwise you're just a self-righteous stuck up arrogant prick) and FL lead that goes from cute, interesting and fiery to a psychotic stalker in a span of an episode. Pretty much FL is borderline stalking and physically harassing ML for several episodes and he's literally physically & violently pushing her away, to the point where it gets really distasteful - have some self-respect girl. And then he just falls in love. Why? Don't ask, just plot armor that's why. If it was the other way around people would call him pervert, rapist and creep. Those same people who are calling SML a "creep" later in the series. Make it make sense.I'm quite allergic to this childhood love bullshit enough as it is. But here it's done so idiotically that from now on I don't even want to hear about it. "He saved my life when I was little and now I owe him my life" - and ofc that means I'm automatically in love with him?! (facepalm) . Who thought that that lames excuse of a reason in a 3 sec flashback would justify bout 8 eps worth of that distasteful behavior? But biggest problem was SML, because he steals the scene every time he comes on screen. And I'm not talking, oh look how beautiful he is (although that to:)), but like the fusion of a really intriguing character and a great actor is amazing. But hey no here's this bland, boy-scout ML that makes FL act all psychotic ?!? I mean we don't need a good reason, she has to because he's the ML duuh. And when they finally make an interesting choice to do a reversal of that stupid reason and start playing with the idea of consistency vs reality, they in a span of 2 min (ofc again without any explanation) not only go back to their stupid ways but double down. So when the fact that he saved her life was useful for her to act all psychotic, she wore it lake a badge of honor and of course it was because she was loyal and it was the only guiding principle, unshakable no one could question it. And she was a character of principles! But when it no longer served the purpose, oh all of a sudden she's a free spirit and goes with the flow. No rules whatsoever. Not to mention the stupidity of not clearing up this misunderstanding in the first place. Are you like 3 years old? You don't know how to talk to people? Here let me fix is for you:
a)Hey I'm the girl that you saved 10 years ago in the Bright Moon Villa, I looked a bit different.
b)I wasn't there 10 years ago/don't remember.
a)To herself: Maybe that wasn't him. I need to investigate. I'm not 10 years old pubescent teenager anymore, I am an adult now. Goes to investigate ... but I guess that's too common sense.
Then the writes go and try to use characters meta-talk to explain away the all the shitty choices. "Love will make you do stupid stuff". No your bad writing will make characters do stupid shit and you know it. If you have some weird fetishes go and write for a docu-drama show about stalkers, or a trashy-reality tv.
Then around ep 16 they finally bring out the big guns - the forced amnesia trope. I just couldn't take it anymore. Might as well watch an episode of Kardashians.
So If you are looking beyond idol worshiping, childhood love, trashy romance and SML syndrome and if you have any self-respect this is definitely not for you.
