Sth ordinary turned into phenomenal

I love it soooo much! The plot is nothing new and everything is pretty much predictable, but the execution is phenomenal! The actors had great chemistry together and were soooo good! Like how can a hug be so emotional that it makes me rewatch it 100 times?! And the kisses weresooooo good and felt natural!
The actor of ZSY did a really great job and ZSY was really the cat type, like whenever I saw him, I was reminded of a cute little cat due to his personality and appearance.
They were also a pretty balanced couple, like one wasn't the giver and the other the taker. And ZSY didn't become the girl of the relationship, which unfortunately happens a lot in bl stories...
I saw some bts and I have to say, the director's passion has also contributed a lot to the success of this series.
So, overall a must watch series!

ZSY was really cute and like a lost kitten, when GSD distanced himself from ZSY. And when they started dating, ZSY was so cute and in love! The whole scene at GSD's house (greeting the mother, trying to wash the dishes and clean the table) were soooooo adorable! Yes, I've fallen for him!

It's so sad!!!

Ok, to start off I'm gonna say that this tbl is so good! I have also finished the second series too and will say a few things about the second series as well. You will understand when you watch it, but let me get to the review. I absolutely love the acting, it was on point and very sedimental. The chemistry between Shi De and Yi, was amazing. Props to the director for that. Music was amazing! I want to say, the right mood of music was put in the correct places. For example, sad scenes, sad music and yall get the rest. I love how this is different from other tbls, although it is kinda the same for all bls, is where Shi De avoids Yi because of something Yi said. If got me to tear up and was so sad😭😭. That's my review for the storyline.

My review for the acting was chefs kiss. Parts of the acting I feel like was genuine and real. There were parts in the second series where Shi De actually got drunk and was crying because they poured their hearts into this drama for us. They are so cute together in the series but it was so sad when he was with that blonde, but in reality, that was his step sis...(ep 6.5). The acting and all the crying in the first series made me take a break from binge watching the second series. I loved them acting and want to see more of them together in the future for future dramas.

Overview, I would highly, highly recommend for any of yall to watch this. It's sad and all and if i do get the chance would most likely rewatch the entire thing again. Trust me when I say this, you won't regret watching this!!

Best BL and most underrated

Honestly, I only created an account just for this drama. The production quality, the acting chops, the directorial savviness, it's all just *chef's kiss.* I would go as far as to say that not only is this an underrated BL, it's arguably underrated in the whole romance genre.

I look forward to seeing what the actors are going to bring us next in their careers. When I spoke about how good their acting was, I always feel like I'm underselling them because the amount of chemistry and raw passion found between the two male leads is something that I've never come across before in Taiwanese dramas. It really seemed as if their acting belonged on the big screens in Hollywood.

Sweet, Sweet, Sweet

One of the best BL series out there!

This is a simple story of love, and persistence. However, what makes this simple story into a great one is the actor's ability to turn this story into a believable and heartwarming love story. The two main characters fit into their roles seamlessly and with such real emotion, it makes it easy to feel the happiness, sadness, anger, and love in every scene.

There are no moments of disappointment or distraction, even the side characters are interesting, charming and supportive. Also, the side characters do not take time away from the main actors, they are only there for support. The mom in the series is really charming too.

The ending might feel like a cliffhanger, that is because there is a season 2. Be sure to watch them both.

I am sure I will rewatch this series again. Thanks!

Parting is such sweet sorrow

This is a familiar storyline with a familiar premise, however, the execution is always what we want to see. They did it well... The share number of secret crushes that are present, it is no wonder things turned out soo crazy.

Gao Shi de and Zhou Shu Yi, were written to have that perfect relationship, whether it is romantic or not. Gao Shi de really did care immensely about Zhou. Zhou has a childish charm to him that is undeniably endearing, it makes you want to see him happy. Equally endearing is Gao, who is totally have with just the presence of the one he likes being near. I think that fuelled my love for the characters, the fact that he didn't need the love to be returned, once the other party was happy.

The acting was top notch, especially during that bridge scene, it is a must see. The chemistry between them was great to see between not only the two leads, but their friends. They were all relationship goals, as well as, Shi De and his mother have such a healthy relationship. Parting is such sweet sorrow and the music touched on every bit of sorrow... and the other emotions as well. It simply added to a scene without being distracting, which made me feel even more. The ending just had me bawling.
Overall, this was a great series and I await too see more of it.

Side note: Some of the best make out scenes in a BL.

Worth it

Just watch it. It worth every seconds that you wanted more. I wasn't a fan of BL but not hating it. What I like about this story is that you can feel their character sincerity and emotions. Plus, the acting is spectacular.

GSD never force his feeling at all. He just wanted to be there and create wonderful memories with someone he love and that's it. He never intended to lead ZSY to like him coz he knows ZSY is straight (at first 😏)

What I like more about this drama is that they are focusing on the character relationship more than the 18++ stuff that overly done in other BL (yes im talking to you thai BL and JBL) but still I'm thankful for those sofa scene ( on Fighting Mr 2nd ). Did I say anything yet about GSD accent and voice like everytime he makes those sound like 'auch' 'oh' 'okay' i melted hahaha. GSD and ZSY is a ship.

If I were to write about the cons...well it is an obvious storyline. I had watched too many similar storyline that you know what to expect,,,but im not complaining coz its a fun watch. And the other cons is that i know this is a drama but to be in a circle that you and everyone you know being a gay and everyone like just accepting it is...ONLY happens in drama.

Still, im lovin it. 10/10.

I rank this the best Taiwanese BL series!

I've only started watching BL dramas and movies early September this year and funny enough despite me being gay I didn't know the world of BL exists until recently. So then I started binge watching so many Asian BL dramas/movies and I have to say - this is the best one to me so far. And even though this is already my second time watching, I can never get enough of this show!

The emotions and dedications portrayed by Sam and Yu are just so spectacular and touching. I particularly enjoyed Sam's performance in this series. Every look that he gave at different scenes just tell us so much about the deep, hidden emotions that he was having for Yu. The sheepish smiles, at the start knowing that he can only be at most friends with Yu and trying to get as close to him as possible before graduation were just all so relatable. Knowing that you can never get the person you love so much to love you back, you can only smile every time he smiles, you can only wish the best for him and the pain that the main character has to go through is all perfectly displayed on Sam's face.

And then the bridge scene where Yu said he loved Sam too - the denial, the unbelievability made Sam question himself, again all shown on his face. I've honestly honestly never seen such real emotions displayed in acting before and it is precisely the reason why I can never stop thinking about this series.

I saw people commenting on somewhere else that it was not nice for Sam to 'trap' Yu in the health center during that night so that he could get closer to Yu. I disagree. Sam always knew his boundaries very well, you could see that he still cared so much for Yu by cooking him supper and then sitting far away from him just drinking water until Yu called him over. He also wanted to sleep somewhere else from Yu but it was Yu who told him to drag his bed over to sing to him and sleep with him. So you can see how the character he played was a person who respect boundaries and just only trying to get closer to him for the last time before their graduation. He only wished for Yu to become his friend eventually and nothing more. How could you seriously hate this character?

I really hope that I can forget this series totally then keep rewatching it because it's just so fantastic! So to those who had yet to watch it, you MUST watch it. I must admit the first episode contained some cheesy 'inner dialogue' but the story I think properly kicks off from Episode 2. So don't get turned off so quickly, watch it and then watch Season 2. You won't regret it.

A Solid BL Drama

Is this short, sweet, simple BL going to change your life or anyone else's? No, but it's a great version of what it is. It has classic BL tropes of Enemies to Lovers, supposedly unrequited love, an early crush on a female friend, and a kind of obnoxious side couple that should have been cut because they add nothing tangible or interesting to the story. They're sort of funny but eh... Take them out and literally nothing changes.

Realistic characters are especially important in romance stories because romance stories are only about the characters. If there's nothing real or recognizable in the lead boys, then the series is nothing but a vapid distraction. If that's what you like, then I'm not going to fault you for that but I can't stand stories like that. Zhou Shu Yi and Gao Shi De are something like people you might know in real life. Their actions and reactions to the elements of the story are appropriate and don't usually come off as melodramatic and over the top. I also like that Shu Yi had some hesitation about a potential relationship with Shi De because they're both guys. It added a nice dash of authenticity to the drama.

Yes, it is pretty ridiculous that after like a day of dating they're already talking like they're ready to walk down the aisle together but that's common enough in any kind of romance story, gay or straight.

sweet blooming romance between frenemies

I actually rewatched this one, it had been a while and I'd forgotten how sweet it was. I love a cute frenemies to lovers, and this one was well executed all the way through.

Pleasantly surprised with good acting in this, both of the main leads are pretty good and their chemistry was beautiful, Taiwanese bls can really be hit or miss in a lot of ways, but the overall quality on this one was pretty good. Sidenote, the fact that they used a half Japanese half Taiwanese actor to play the role of a half Japanese half Taiwanese character is awesome, the bilingual aspect of the show made things all the more adorable.

It's simple and sweet, and definitely worth a watch! Season 2 is decent as well, which is pretty rare, but I'll write a separate review for that one.

You Better Love This!

Well, this was so good. I liked it a lot, honestly, I loved it. It had been lying in my PTW list for a while, and I have no idea why I didn’t watch it earlier. I kept putting it off for no reason, and now I’m just wondering what took me so long.

The dynamic between the leads was everything. That gradual build-up as they got closer step by step was really well done. It was both enemies-to-lovers and friends-to-lovers, depending on how you choose to see it. And that layered feeling made it even more interesting to watch.

Zhou Shu Yi was such a fun character. A bit childish and playful, but not in an exaggerated or annoying way, more like how an actual 21-year-old might be that way. It felt believable. But he’s also smart, and even though he can be a little narcissistic at times, it comes off as endearing more than anything else. I found him really charming. Plus, his habit of randomly throwing in Japanese words here and there, I loved that. it made his personality even more distinct.

Then there’s Gao Shi De. He’s gentle, caring, and calm for the most part, but you can also see how sharp and intelligent he is. He had his playful moments too, and I appreciated that he knew when to be serious and when to be light. His personality worked so well with Zhou Shu Yi’s. it made their interactions feel balanced and genuine.

The whole "enemy" angle from Zhou Shu Yi’s point of view, that constant rivalry from elementary school through university, where Gao Shi De is always first and he’s always second, was actually really well written. It added tension and humor at the same time. But then we get Gao Shi De’s perspective, and suddenly it’s not a rivalry, it’s a long-standing one-sided love. That shift in narrative hit hard. You realize that everything Gao Shi De did had meaning, and he was never competing with Zhou Shu Yi. he just loved him quietly, from a distance.

And when Zhou Shu Yi finds out that his two childhood friends are dating, one of whom he had feelings for, that moment really sets things in motion. Gao Shi De steps in, wanting to comfort him but also finally getting the chance to grow closer because of his own feelings. Watching them slowly go from misunderstanding to trust, from awkward to intimate, was so satisfying. Their relationship development was natural and engaging. And even after they got together, I liked that their playful rivalry didn’t disappear—it stayed a part of their dynamic, and it just worked.

Pei Shou Yi was another character I found interesting. I was genuinely curious about what he was thinking most of the time. He wasn’t just a background character, he influenced the story and the leads’ relationship in small but important ways. I’d say their connection progressed more than once because of his actions or presence.

Also, I have to mention Gao Shi De’s mom. She didn’t have a ton of screen time, but I liked her a lot. She left a strong impression and added a softness to Gao Shi De’s character, helping us see another side of him.

This drama really had everything I was hoping for, great writing, strong performances, and incredible chemistry between the leads. Every emotional beat hit just right, and the pacing of the relationship felt honest and real.

I’m so glad I finally watched it.

On to Season 2!

An unrequierd love executed so good

Unrequired love is my favorite type of stories, and I have to say this one difinitively got me trapped. I loved how it had a good development that didn't how too slow or fast. The actors were on point and portrayed the characters so convincing. It gave me a great satisfaction and laughs, with the way Zhou Shu Yi ran and jumped to the pool. Either way I loved the storyline and it's development, and the music was beautiful, and also corresponding to the scenes. It was a good execution, definitly one of the best I've seen and would rewatch, it gave me many beautiful memories with my sister, we loved it.
