A lightweight thriller+action drama
If you are looking for a thriller but with less messy/bloody scence but with a touch of humour than go for it.Particularly, It isn't a thriller drama but for a beginner it is a good option.......Even if you are not a beginner and want relief from mind boggling investigation ,mysterious plot and anxiety you can consider watching it.
The drama is lightweighted with a touch of mystery, action, thrill and comedy...........may get vibe of Batman or rich man getting in trouble on purpose for fun because why not.
You don't have to rack your mind as the story unfolds all your doubts will be solved.
Yes, it is a good watch.

Quirky Fun in a Light-Hearted Detective Drama
Flex Cops was a thoroughly enjoyable drama, especially for those who like detective stories that don’t take themselves too seriously. The male lead (ML) is particularly memorable for his quirky personality, adding humour and fresh elements to the crime-solving scenes. While some of the mysteries in the series might not be very surprising, they are still fun to watch unfold. This series successfully combines elements of mystery and comedy, ensuring that the audience is consistently entertained, even if the outcomes are somewhat predictable. The interactions and antics of the characters provide plenty of laughs and keep the mood light. This drama is a great choice for viewers looking for a detective drama that offers humour, a laid-back approach to the genre, and enough suspense to keep things interesting.

Really engaging and enjoyable watch
March 2025A really enjoyable watch. Liked the cast a lot, some funny characters, good pace, with several intertwining storylines that kept me interested from start to finish.
The outcome wasn't obvious to me, but eventually I remembered something I saw in a particular episode, which gave me strong suspicions.
Ahn Bo-hyun is great in this. His character is extremely cocky, but the fact he isn't pretentious (unless winding up colleagues), nor spoilt exactly, stops him being hard to like. Quite the opposite. He appeared to me to have no respect for the wealth he became surrounded by, and with each episode we see why. He is caring though, and once invested, does nothing but his best.
The police team are not stupid or inept, for a change, but as with so many dramas, the higher ranks are portrayed kowtowing to the wealthy.
Lee Gang-hyeon (Park Ji-hyun), lead of one of the police teams, is brainy, tenacious, thick skinned, and smart. I loved her, as do her loyal colleagues. She also has a personal axe to grind, yet rarely let's that cloud her decisions.
It isn't real life by any stretch of the imagination, and nor is it meant to be. What I did find it to be, was fun, energetic, and also quite moving at times.
Definitely worth a watch.

One of this winter's disappointments
For most of the episodes, “Flex x Cop” seemed to me quite an average drama. The only thing that kept me watching was Ahn Bo Hyun. The first eight episodes can simply be thrown out. It provides neither revelation of characters, nor a foundation for the future. Just a series of investigation of criminal cases, where the main character is somehow involved, thanks to his connections and knowledge of Korean “high society”. There is an attempt to demonstrate the confrontation between the 'world of ordinary people' and the 'world of chaebols' with a bit of humor, but instead of humor, I saw the most disgusting attitude of Jin Yi Soo’s (Ahn Bo Hyun) new colleagues towards the newcomer. Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun) and her team demonstrated all the disgusting sides of human nature. Contempt and outright trolling are what Jin Yi Soo faces.
Park Ji Hyun re-united with Ahn Bo Hyun again after Yumi's Cells, where her character was just as nasty towards Ahn Bo Hyun's character, so nothing has changed here for me. Of course, by the end of the drama, Lee Kang Hyun is shown differently: a dedicated police officer who seeks to clear the name of her father, who was unfairly accused of bribery. But I couldn't warm up to her, so I'm really glad that the creators did not develop the romantic line between Kang Hyun and Yi Soo. I’m terrified to think that I have to deal with this in the second season, which has already been announced.
Ahn Bo Hyun himself did not play anything outstanding in “Flex x Cop”. As he himself said in an interview, his task was to portray a 'big child': spoiled, but very kind, despite the fact that he lost his mother and never had a normal family after that. Bo Hyun handled this well, but nothing more. Unfortunately, this is his second drama in a row, where they did not work with him at all as an actor, using only his appearance. But at least Jin Yi Soo is nothing like Moon Seo Ha in “See You in My 19th Life.”
Who I really liked in the drama was Lee Kang Hyun's father - Lee Hyung Joong (Kwon Hae Hyo) and Yoon Ji Won (Jung Ga Hee). Kwon Hae Hyo was very convincing as the experienced police chief and loving father, and Jung Ga Hee portrayed the charming forensic scientist who greatly embarrassed and awed one of Lee Kang Hyun's subordinates. Jang Hyun Sung was also good as Jin Yi Soo's father, but he generally does well secondary characters.
As for the main intrigue, I would say that the creators managed to keep it almost until the end (but I’m not generally known for “buying out” an idea in the early stages) - here we can only praise the screenwriter Kim Ba Da. By the way, she also created the script for the drama “My Name,” in which I really like Ahn Bo Hyun.
Do I recommend the drama? No. Well, only if you watch the first episode, and then skip to the eighth - you still won’t miss anything important. Will I watch the second season? Yes, because Ahn Bo Hyun is a rare guest on screens.

Fun, Fun, Fun ... With Slight Predictability
A great story about Jin Isoo, a wealthy man who finds his calling as a detective. The team, the cases, the action were enjoyable and the actors in their roles were a great fit.The FL may take some getting used to, as she comes off very one dimensional. The star of the show is the ML who I thought was really good and brought great variety to his performance. But because of this The ML and FL had meh chemistry ... but the Violent Crimes team 1 had great chemistry! I want to see more of the 4 of them in the second season.
I really wish the writers would not have included the tragedy plotline of ML parents ... it was all very predictable plot of rich families and the familiar tropes - angst, memory loss/suppression, miscommunication, greed, hate etc.
Not sure about rewatching ... but overall a fun action series that I recommend.

Could've Had a Better Ending with Different Villain
I really enjoyed this show and I'm looking forward to another season. I will say I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Please stop here if you don't want any spoilers...I was really disappointed who ended up being the villain and that his father was also killed. Just when it looked like the relationship between the ML and his father was finally coming around, the father is murdered. So the ML had no real family by his side anymore, just the crazy, lost-her-mind stepmother who treated the ML like crap his whole life. So the ML, Jin Isoo, lost his mother at a young age, then his father. It's kind of disappointing that the writers didn't leave him with any good familial relationships, except his secretary. I would've liked it better with a different villain (like the step-mother), and at least leaving the ML with his father and step brother. Also, I didn't like the way the father let his wife treat his son like crap, knowing what he knew.
Other than that, I loved the way that his involvement as part of the Violent Crimes Division evolved as well as the funny, comedic bromance and I actually liked that there was no romance involved. It is definitely rewatchable if you're a fan of Bo Hyun!

S1 tanked at the end
As late as ep 11/12 of 16 it was heading for 8-8.25 but I'm punishing it for the AWFUL final quarter. 12 eps of entertaining OTT buddy-cop fun with a nicely nuanced growth in the lead characters' relationships and perceptions of each other, then makjang madness meltdown.Paradoxically , the risible final quarter has made me MORE interested in checking to S2. If the makjang is all done, S2 MIGHT return to what S1 did best. S!'s final 4 it abandoned any pretence of the merest shred of credibility or internal coherence. It's very sad that it's opted for a traditional makjang "resolve" and utterly abandoned the entertaning OTT buddy-cop formula that worked so well for the first 12 eps. The finale is the stuff of weekenders or even worse, dailies. BUT, with the makjang family bakvaas out of the way, S2 might save it. Especially if there is NO romance between the leads

An Audience Pleaser
Set in Gangha, Jin Yi Soo, a chaebol who has everything at his disposal, joins the police force after he gets involved in a case. There, he is added to investigation team one. Together they unravel and solve mysteries and bring offenders to book.Flex x cop is thrilling from the get-go. Although the plot is nothing extraordinary or new, the drama is gripping and keeps your full attention. It is action packed as well. The emotional and moving scenes are also perfectly sandwiched in various episodes.
One likeable thing about this drama is that it is fast moving. The events follow one another rapidly and none is dragged on. Each episode presents a different story development.
A noticeable standout feature is the relationship development between the leads. The focus is not on them becoming lovers and the change in attitude towards each other takes a gradual and steady pace. They slowly upgrade from a chaebol cop and a detective who hates his guts to great working colleagues and friends who look out for each other. Even without being lovers, their chemistry is unmatched.
This drama is definitely an audience pleaser as it contains a bit of every element present in kdramas and it's so exciting. It is that one kdrama without a single boring episode. It is a must-see. Can't wait for season two.

upbeat nice drama
whats so good about this drama is that as the episodes go on they get alot more interesting regarding character development and the plot gets stronger and deeper, things developed from upbeat to tragic smoothly until he ended solving his own case .when i started watching i thought the hyung is such a huge vibe i needed someone like this in my life (but since I've seen this before i knew right away that he's too good to be true because writers love to screw things up )
i'm sorry but , Who ever did jin isoo styling deserve a punch in the face his fashion is bad where do they even find those shirts .
since i watched the first two episodes i thought it was on the less mature side and not to My taste maybe but for younger viewers ,i love the versatility of the stories and Characters .
they could've picked someone else to be the Main actress i find her unsatisfying. (my point of view though)

It gets better and better!!
This got everything! Recently kdramas have been having bad ending/second halves.. but This one, Not! Fast paced! The plot is interesting, perfect! You'll guess who the main villain (last episodes) that's the only minus! The slow burn is perfect for me! I really love drama where romance is subplot! The second drama i really enjoyed in 2024 from first episode to last (after Pyramid Game)It's fun, interesting, intriguing and Perfect! I love how each episode ends! Wish we got to see more of the after 2 lead again (Joon Young and Kyung Jin!!
Waiting for season 2

I just finished Flex X Cop and would advise people to check logic at the door because this is an entertaining watch as long as one doesn’t think too hard about it. For example, instead of wondering in what universe police would throw someone into a case with zero prior training (just imagine the potential liability), I would enjoy instead the protagonist’s fish out of water fumbling and his gradual acceptance by his peers. I had been underwhelmed by Bo Hyung Ahn as an actor in “See You My 19th Life,” but I’ve completely changed my mind after seeing him in this drama. He really sold his character and his story. I also thought that Park Ji Hyun, who plays the female lead, was good. The ending left A LOT of loose ends. I heard recently that there will be a second season, which explains all of the dangling threads.
