Refreshing and emotional
Very refreshing! I normally watch romance so I wasn't initially gonna watch this but when I started it was so addictive. Its hard to pinpoint exactly why it was well done but here are a few things: character development of the ML and FL relationship was smooth and the conflict didnt last long (they have great chemistry), no one is made purely evil to fit the villian they all have their reasons, a fresh take on detective series, ML is a fun character but with realistic emotions, even tho it has a closed ending it proves how gud it was that people want a season 2 based on the characters, lastly I barely finish dramas to the 16th epsiode so I'm telling u this is special, the episodes flew by.The only slight criticism I would give it would be the editing initially can be a bit choppy on scenes but it improves.
Would seriously recommend it!

It’s so good but underrated
I love this drama. I watched it when it first came out and the first ep just hooked me onto the drama. I just love the main character’s show off nature - idk how else to describe it but yet he is an emotional and unstable character who just needed his parents :((I rewatch it 24/7. It has a thrill of an ongoing case and defo amusement from the way he solves the cases using his powers / money and brains.
highly recommend to watch - I watched it on Disney and enjoy watching it cause you’ll defo like it

Good Enough
Korean Drama '' Flex x Cop '' is a remake of the Russian series '' Silver Spoon '', with a Korean twist of course. The drama offers a lot of cases that the investigation team is called to solve, in their delightfully whimsical way. That way the main plot doesn't get stuffy, and the drama does indeed focus on the police enforcement, and doesn't simply give a few at the start only to excite the audience and then try to keep things interesting with unnecessary melodrama for the second half.
The main mystery case was also interesting and twisty and enhanced the drama of the characters more.
The characters, moreover, where all interesting and had smooth chemistry.
The performances, therefore, were all great and everyone did a great job with their characters.
So, overall, nine out of ten.

my recommendation
In my opinion, this drama is light, good acting, and really like the actors, very good for family viewing, doesn't have scenes that are too mature, this is really recommended in my opinion,This is a drama that tells the story of a rich man's son who was involved with a victim of a wrongful arrest which resulted in him being jailed for 1 day, after which an argument occurred between him and his father.after that he was appointed as a policeman and he carried it out well and The plot twist is also there and that's enoughWas this review helpful to you?
THE BEST DRAMA OF 2024 SO FAR!
A new insight to South Korea's conglomerate family. I am glad that it didnot have any complexity like other conglomerate family dramas. For the first time, I watched a drama which showed a different side of an so-called illegitimate child. Most of the dramas show them spoiled and so on. But this drama was something different. Acting skills were par excellence. Ahn bo hyun did an amazing job of carrying on the whole drama just by his spectacular acting. The chemistry between Park ji hyun and Ahn bo hyun was something else. It didnot need romance honestly. The last episode made me cry. There is a big plot twist at the end. I hope the same cast will carry on the season 2.Was this review helpful to you?
One of my new favs
I must say, this drama positively surprised me. I didn't think it would be this good, but it is. It has become one of my new favorite shows, and I am so glad it is getting a season 2.The beginning of the show started with little investigation stories and evolved into a bigger plot. I love all the characters, especially Jin Isoo. I love his personality, and the actor is portraying it so well! In general, the acting is amazing, but I must say that Jin Isoo/Ahn Bo-hyun stood out to me. When he cried, I had to cry. He made me laugh often, and I never really got mad or annoyed at him.
There was some romance, which I enjoyed and am glad was there because it made the show even better.
I like how there were many different cases we could discover that were connected to some characters. And it really rose from smaller cases to bigger cases. Already excited for season 2. Can't wait!

It was a perfect blend of emotional, funny, action, detective work. I really enjoyed Ahn Bo Hyun's character. I also enjoyed the way all the characters developed. It was fun to see them becoming a team and working so well together.
The cases they worked on were interesting and that plot twist at the end was oooof! I would absolutely watch it again and am hoping they follow through with a second season!

A Lot of Writing Issues but Still Watchable
My 4 categories are Acting/Cast, Writing, Direction/SFX/Music, Entertainment Value.Detective dramas are one of my least favorite genres to watch. They tend to be formulaic and, therefore, boring, but every once in a while, I’ll give one a shot. I decided to watch this one because I was in a drama slump at the time, so I was picking up various dramas from different genres to try out.
Acting/Cast: The male lead was clearly the most interesting character. There was really no other reason to continue watching this drama other than maybe for the slow burn romance between the two leads. If you’re not a fan of Ahn Bo Hyun (안보현) as an actor or if his character is this drama isn’t appealing to you, then you probably will not like this drama at all. The cast is good and the acting is good…it’s just that the male lead takes up way too much of the focus; everyone else just feel like side characters. The team members did have decent chemistry though. 6/10
Writing: It was formulaic in the first…6 episodes maybe. There were also weird cases involving hypnosis and ghosts…So this drama isn’t the most realistic (which is strange for a detective drama). I almost dropped it, but I saw comments saying that the drama gets better as it goes. That turned out to be accurate; this drama does get better each episode. The case involving the female lead and her father’s backstory was the point when it really became interesting for me. Once that plot point was wrapped up, however, I felt like the drama lost some steam. The male lead’s plotline just wasn’t as interesting to me. It was too predictable. Also, the dark and mysterious plot surrounding the male lead from the beginning turned out to be overly dramatic nonsense. The writing (especially for a detective genre) isn’t very intelligent. It didn’t feel as though a team of smart detectives were solving crimes together -- it was more like technology doing it for them and the male lead using his fame, money, and connections. So…not much brain power going on (actually, the male lead made the detectives seem like a joke. How did they ever solve cases without him?). I did like the lightness of this drama, however. I could watch 15 minutes here or an hour there whenever I felt like seeing the team again. However, it became a little too dark in the end, which was a bit off-putting. It was also weird how certain characters treated the male lead like he’s a ticking time bomb because he has childhood trauma. They should be the ones to know that simply having childhood trauma doesn’t necessarily make someone evil (especially when the male lead is repeatedly shown to be a good person). 1.5/10
Direction/SFX/Music: This drama felt well produced, although cheesy at times. It had good, choreographed fight scenes, which is always a plus in my book. It has a unique OST, too, which adds to the charm of the drama. The music has a cartoony or comic book detective feel. 6/10
Entertainment Value: Like I said earlier, I almost dropped this drama after episode 6. The rich, famous influencer solving cases gimmick just wasn’t quite compelling enough for me. Maybe, it’s because the drama was a bit too ridiculous in the first half. Maybe, it’s because solving the cases didn’t feel like a team effort. However, it did get better and characters began to grow on me a little bit. It took me a long time to finish this drama because I would just watch a little here and there while waiting for more episodes of other dramas to air. 3/10
Overall, I gave this drama a 4/10. For me, a score anywhere from 4 to 5.5 means that I wouldn’t recommend this drama, but it is still good enough for a one-time watch (meaning, I don’t feel like I wasted my time watching it). It seems like they’re planning for a second season. Would I watch it? Probably. Would I expect it to be good? No…but it does have potential to be better than the first season.

Pleasantly Surprised
First of all, this drama gives strong Taxi Driver (which I loved) vibes in that there’s a new case each episode, and unique approaches and devices are utilized in the solving of them. It differs significantly, though, in that these are actual detectives and an actual chaebol/detective working actual crimes. I enjoyed immensely that it didn’t copy a formula, it took elements from it and made a whole new formula of its own.I appreciated that the backstory from childhood was doled out intermittently between case solving. So you were getting regular closure on the one hand, with periodic clues about the ongoing questions about the past and present. This was smart directing and when the big culmination of truth is revealed, the timing and energy felt exactly right.
I enjoyed the duality of the leads, and several of the supporting cast as well. Being driven in your work but still capable of reflection and altering one’s opinions and biases. Learning to see oneself through an accumulation of small successes, not chance of birth or survived trauma. Coming to appreciate that different approaches can still lead to shared goals. Shedding a predatory career path for one of integrity. There was just a lot of well written character development here.
The romantic innuendo was beautifully subtle, and the friendships were naturally built and strong. Every cast member brought their A game, but Ahn BoHyun’s character arc was masterful. You could always see that his heart was good from the beginning, but the level to which he took what could have been a justifiable descent into a vengeful rage and instead just became an even better person was an inspiration.
Lastly, it’s rare to see a drama this well tied up promise a 2nd season. It’s definitely primed for one, and I love that it’s not based on loose ends; it’s based on a solid premise with characters we’ve come to care about continuing the story.

Anh Bo Hyun nailed it!
The only regret I had is to not wait till the show is finish first before watching, because the weekly wait was killing me!I really love the characters in this show, especially the nice uncle who stayed by In Soo all this while. It's sweet seeing such dedication and sincerity in these days.
The storyline is pretty predictable in a way, but it doesn't mean it's boring. In Soo basically brings comedy, action, and excitement into this otherwise average plot.
I really enjoy every episode, the pacing is right, it keeps me excited and wanting for more.
I also love how loose ends up are all tied up with a solid ending, and potential for S2?
Anh Bo Hyun definitely did it again. His acting was so good especially in the last episode. I could really feel his heart sank, it's heartbreaking. Also, he is hot af, which is a big bonus!!
I can't wait for S2 and more of his show!!!

The Editing is horrible
Whoever did the editing for the series - should go back to editing school, and if it was director's decision.... Why? 왜?The sudden cuts to the black halts the flow of the story, if it would happen only few times an episode to show that it took prolonged time between the scenes or something, I could understand it, but now
every
scene
ends
and
stars
with
a
black
cut
Somebody needs to relearn Cinematic language (when you want to break the rules, first you need to understand them and why they are how they are). The cuts not only take away the visuals but audio as well, which is even more jarring. There is a saying among filmmakers - "the most important part of the cinema is sound". The cuts to the black (and to the silence) should Have some value to the overall story, but now they are just... there.
These unnecessary cuts:
* take the audience away from the story ("Wait, what happened? Oh, we're back. Ok... What? It happened again? ... Oh, again? I guess I will check my phone then.")
* halts the story itself, the story should build up during the episode like a chart going slightly up, however with the cuts, the story always needs to start from the ground up: /\/\/\/\
I can skip uninteresting parts of the series, I can suspend my disbelieve with certain unbelievable things, I can enjoy the humour and good acting. However, I Cannot make myself go through the sudden STOP signs, which suddenly kick me out through the front window onto the pavement.
