BEYOND pleasantly surprised!
The trailers looked silly, and Ahn Bo Hyun has never been one of my favorites. He's always been that support character that I've enjoyed well enough, but he hasn't wowed me when he's been the lead. All of that has changed with Flexx Cop. But let's back up a little to initial thoughts.STORY: A chaebol that is used to playing RPG, suddenly finds himself as a cop. This could have gone quickly bad if he had been made out to be stupid. I loved how he was able to look at cases from a different perspective that the cops hadn't thought of. I also loved how he seemed to throw money at almost every case, providing help/resources that only his massive wealth could bring. I'm a big fan of having a case take just a little over an episode. This keeps it from being drawn out needlessly and keeps things moving.
Friendships: I loved to watch the development with the four main characters. Impatience/mistrust/dislike turn to caring and trust. I was halfway through the drama when it struck me how organically the friendships developed. With each case, the other cops grew to like Yi Soo. I love how they came to appreciate/like Yi Soo and were there to support him and keep him safe when he was struggling.
Romance: Hmmm. Okay, so I'll admit I'm a dyed-in-the-wool romantic. I thought the story line of the cop and the medical examiner was cute. However, I wasn't feeling it between Yi Soo and Kang Hyun. I think the writers purposely didn't develop in, knowing that they would have a season 2. I just really enjoyed them getting to know one another and coming to depend on each other.
ACTING: Excellent. Ahn Bo Hyun owned this role. He could have come off as obnoxious, but he played it so innocent that you couldn't help but like him from the get-go. He really had to run the gamut of emotions in this role, and he nailed every one of them. The scene toward the end with Yi Soo and Kang Hyun's mother just about broke my heart. Everyone was excellent in their roles, Kwak Shi Yang as Seung Joo kept me guessing for quite some time. I was disappointed in the direction he took, but I realize that's the only way it could go. I really liked the casting of Kim Shin Bi as Hyung Jin, the youngest cop of the group. He had the sweet innocence that played nicely against the more seasoned and jaded cops. The hero worship he had for Yi Soo was so fun.
MUSIC: There were some nice songs that faded into the background.
REWATCH VALUE: Usually, the only shows I rewatch are the good romantic scenes from shows I've watched. However, this was so good I'm going to watch it again right away!
WISH LIST FOR SEASON TWO: I'm not normally a fan of a show having a second season, because it's all been done in season one. Going from dislike to working together as a team - that was a big part of this season, and one of the things that made it so enjoyable. I don't know how the writers plan to do this, but I hope that they keep the format of a case an episode. And if you can't give us a good, hot, chemistry-filled, believable romance, just leave the romance out. They are great as friends.
Honestly, I can't get over how much I enjoyed this show!

Solid Action/Crime Drama that captivates you from beginning to End
If you are thinking of watching this then please do! It is a solid watch with lots of different cases. A lot of 16 episodes kdrama seem to lose its steam around ep 10-12 but this one keeps the momentum the whole way through. The character growth between all the main characters was also very good to see.Recommend!

Let's just say the detective in me was awoken.....
I started this for Ahn Bo hyun and to be honest I stayed for the plot and how it was being told. This is a comedy mystery action drama about a rich chaebol who becomes a detective and meets with the other detectives on a certain team and then the rest is how they over come their differences and how they solve the various cases.
I think what grabbed me the most about this drama was how it involved solving different cases....and all those cases were written in an interesting manner so let's say it arroused the detective in me each time their was a case to solve...it was fun and Intriguing.
The story telling is good the brilliant mixture of comedy and mystery as well as thrill....was particularly interesting.
The characterisation was good too I couldn't picture any one as the characters and I love how all these characters especially the ones on the main team had different personalities so seeing them over come their differences and become close felt really satisfying plus the cast had amazing chemistry.
The acting was good...I enjoyed the suprise cameos that sort of had a relation to the casts previous projects.
This was an unexpected treat and I enjoyed every minute of it well let's say Iam still enjoying more considering I heard that it was also confirmed for a second season which I think is a good idea... considering the way the story is told feels continuous and I could watch multiple seasons of this drama.

WOW….Just WOW!!!
Been in a kdrama slump for a year now and this show brought me out of it!The pacing and way everything just unfolds is so satisfying and consistent. I’ve seen so many shows that start out this way and just fumble it all halfway into the show. But this drama is just consistent.
Each of the characters are intriguing and captivating. They’re basically onions😅. They all have depth to them and are written so well. Just when you think you have the km figured out another thing comes along and your like “wait what!?” I didn’t expect that.
In a show like this having a 1 dimensional character works against it. Even characters that only show up for 1-2 episodes also have a certain level of depth to them. This just shows how good of a show it is
Jin Isoo at first glance seems like those rich chaebols we always see who have so much money no personality or common sense. As we get to know him, we realize his recklessness and nonchalant attitude is cause by many things.
1. his mothers death
2. life with his father & stepmom
3. knowing he’s an illegitimate child and having to compensate for that.
A character like his is so easy to write off and make him the same way we’ve grown accustomed to but they kept showing us who he truly is underneath that façade.
GangHyun she is a character! At first I hated her and the way she treated Isoo but soon realized she rarely trusted people because of what her dad experienced. She was just scarred and it didn’t help Isoo was also the way he was

Simply Perfect
This drama has everything you need to keep you glued to your seat. I enjoyed every single episode as it gives you enough scenes to cry, laugh, get excited, and feel intrigued. The cast and the stories/police cases perfectly fit, like an ensemble moving naturally just like life as it goes on, there was never a dull moment. Entertaining yet Ahn Bohyun's personal crisis cuts through your heart that you tear up ugly just like I did. The show's producers signified that a second season is coming soon and that would be something to look forward to. Give it a watch, I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much as I did.Was this review helpful to you?

Comedy, action, drama, mystery. A mix of everything.
Watching this series gave me a bit of everything. At first, it was a comedy with Ahn Bo Hyun being the rich guy trying to be a cop. All the investigations and action scenes were interesting and could engage me to keep waiting for next episode everytime. Later on, the drama got more intensed and again, Ahn Bo Hyun killed it. From funny and overdoing type of guy, he turned into a sad and misfortunated person. All the crying scenes really convinced me to feel pity for him. Cannot wait for season 2 which I hope there could be more romantic scene between the leads. Was this review helpful to you?
Fantastic, Subtitles Subpar
At the beginning it struck me as ridiculous in certain affectations. However, by the end of the first episode I was won over. I finally started because of the news that there will be a second season - always a positive. The mix of comedy, crime procedural, and thriller aspects are sure not to disappoint. The male and female leads were outstandingly good and the supporting cast all superior.
I do have one nit to pic here. The English subtitles here are subpar as compared to most K-dramas put out these days. This in itself is not a reason to not watch. Context delivers the understanding to follow the meaning. The question is when these S Korean production companies so often succeed so well in production quality, script, acting, continuity, and great direction, why do they scrimp on subtitles? How much would it cost to get a college educated native speaker to review the proposed translations and smooth them over? Why is this important? Why not just go with subpar translations? Because in a fast paced story such mistakes take the viewer out of story immersion and call attention to wrong verb tense, the odd phrasing or word choice. No one anywhere in the English speaking world says 'get on the car' it's 'get in' or 'get into the car'. Verb tenses even in the simplest situations were grating and just too often obviously wrong. If I were talking to a Korean friend in college and they made these mistakes I wouldn't correct out of politeness, but I suspect this lack of correction gave someone doing these subtitles a false sense of mastery of the language.
Please fix before wrapping up the second season.

Definitely a masterpiece
I want to watch this because the ost sing by LUCY, but it's the best drama ever I'd ever watch. Yisoo's character really connect to my heart, other characters development in the story progress flawlessly. Crime plot also done so well in the story. The plot twist are not disappointed also, gladly his assistant really loyal to him until the end.Was this review helpful to you?
A complete ingredient drama
I never expect that I would love this drama. I can say that it was nicely done the story is quiet promoting. Every episode is more promising and the story gets more better.Isoo belongs to rich family and become famous because he is one of the son in Hansu Group and hits the social media in storm because of the extreme sports he has done.
One day he has chosen to become a cop because he has once become a private detective using his wealth to capture bad guys without him knowing that he will become a real detective once he has appointed.
He become dedicated by it and of course he is using his wealth and charm by it, its one of the reason why it is funny.
One day as he was solving a case he bumped into the old case of the death of his mother. It is painful and believed who did it. Although he catch the real culprit a little too late but he still achieved the justice that he needed.

Great Show - Contrary to expectations.
Ok, I really liked this show!!!So while I do like most every genre of K-Drama, I prefer 사극 (historical k-dramas). That being said, the title and poster for this show in particular looked very "teen Disney-esque" and I hesitated watching it for a while. However, because I liked Ahn Bo Hyun in "Military Prosecutor Dobermann", and the ratings for this show seemed to be going up every week, I finally gave it a shot.
I wasn't convinced at first. The whole over the top rich guy act, the mall SWAT Team scene and a few other things had me very skeptical. But then it started to pick up steam and got better and better and better and - WOW!
The story was fleshed out nicely and you don't see the twist coming until the end. The acting was great and the character development was awesome. I really enjoyed how the team struggled initially but grew as a whole.
Can't wait for season 2
