Actually…
I actually really liked this drama. Story/plot wise…and acting wise… go ahead and read the other reviews. But, if you want something to laugh to, and don’t mind a bit of tears (if the acting even gets you there), then this is a pretty good choice for it. I loved the friend circle. Everyone was pretty funny, though I can see why some might cringe. The dynamics were wonderful and brought a lot of laughter, but then again I’m easily amused. Although the plot could’ve been expanded on, I’m personally fine with the way it went. It’s not a masterpiece, but again, I enjoyed it.But please. For the love of the world, not in the middle of the road, guys.

A Disappointing Approach for a Stellar Casting!
Undoubtedly, this would have worked much better as a fantasy. Instead, they tried to fool us into thinking it is and then wildly twisting the plot into making it fit into our ‘reality’ only to fail miserably on all fronts. This series is a complete mess, regrettably.Initially, it captured my imagination. Thinking Cir (Boss Chaikamon) was indeed transported from a parallel universe into our world, hooked me. In that world, he was deeply and completely in love with Phu (Noeul Nuttarat). However, in this world, he was hit by a car and was hospitalized. When he awakens, he imagines (I think) that he comes from a parallel universe. Phu has no idea of who Cir is when he knocks on his door, dripping wet in hospital attire. Cir seems to know a great deal about him. I mean an unhealthy amount of information that would indeed indicate what other option would there be but to at least consider Cir is from a parallel universe. Otherwise, would he be a stalker?! However, the idea that they are lovers in that other universe is beyond any level of logic yet certainly is intriguing.

Not A Must-Watch
Love the actors but I did not like this story at all. I thought it would've been like Vice Versa or even See You Again, and I was ready to cry every moment of this series like I did for those. I was really excited because of that. I saw it was 9.5/10 on iQIYI, and I'm confused now.Like, they threw a ball, and it was aimed at the goal... then they came along and whacked it into the crowd. This could've been soooo good!
A stalker situation?? really? I was confused for a bit, then I started to understand everything, then they throw the whole stalker thing. Which, I honestly think was to create a "hurdle/challenge" like how most drama's do. I seriously don't know what happened during screen writing...
I was honestly more interested in JinWim's story. I really want a show revolving around them with the concept of Jin being able to read people's minds. I hope they'll get their own series like PermBoun did!

Gets a little interesting towards the end but a wasted potential
As a huge BossNeoul fan I feel a little frustrated because they honestly deserved better. The acting was perfection, saved the drama. The plot had really great potential to develop into one of the best dramas of the year but the abrupt ending and the lack of flow made it unenjoyable. They had a great idea but none sat to develop it so it ended up having too many plot holes and no depth. What saddens me the most is it had potentials.
The acting is phenomenal and we can truly see how much Booss and Neoul has grown since LITA. They embraced the characters well and showed apt emotions in each scene. They truly gave life to the characters. They truly deserve some better storylines.
The sorection was good. It felt really high maintained and well drafted. Even with the lack of plot the cinematography and direction gave it atleast some dimension.
I hope to see more of such plot but with better quality.

We Could Have Had it All
I clicked on this drama with a positive mindset, as I was already familiar both with Noeul and Boss and I quite like the idea of time travel and/or alternate dimensions. This seemed like a perfect match for me and I will admit that until maybe around episode five I was really eating up the story and couldn't wait to find out what will happen next.
Unfortunately what I considered to be the best part of the plot (Boss/Cir jumping through universes) turned out to be a lie he came up with to woo his crush of five years. Yes, it is also strange that none of his friends managed (tried to?) to convince him to just talk to Phu/Noeul for all those years while he was stalking him.
I think it's a huge miss that they chose not to explore dimension hopping further in the story. Boss acting in the scenes with his alternate self were one of the best parts to me and you could really see that professional actor in him. There was so much to discover and develop there and they just let it fizzle out.
I feel like I can't really judge this series objectively because I liked these actors before and the theme was just so right up my lane, but there's so much that wasn't resolved in this story by the end of it. Why was Jin a mind reader? Where did that come from?
Let's also not forget the absolutely medieval arc regarding Cirrus's parents and brother. You're trying to tell me it's the big year 2024-ish and your younger brother is being EXCHANGED to live with your abusive mother? While your father watches? And no one says absolutely anything? I know it's a Thai BL drama but PLEASE.
It's not a bad watch and I will most likely be back at some point to watch the stalker next world but I remain very bitter about the lost potential of this plot.

I dont know what i feel ?
I decided to watch The Boy Next World mainly because I loved the plot description and the actors. At first, the story promised a parallel world concept, which immediately caught my attention because it felt fresh and unique. The idea of two worlds existing side by side, slowly revealing themselves, was intriguing. When the drama showed two versions of reality and intentionally confused the audience, I actually enjoyed that confusion—it made the story feel mysterious and exciting. However, the drama later revealed that it was not really about a parallel world, but instead about obsession and stalking, where one character does everything because of his love. At that point, the storyline felt much more ordinary, and I slowly lost interest. The shift from a sci-fi concept to a psychological explanation felt disappointing, as if the drama took away the very element that made it special in the first place.
What made things more frustrating was the lack of clear explanations by the end. After cir’s accident, his head mark disappears and then reappears, which raises many unanswered questions. If he truly lost his memory, how did his scar changed? And if he was lying, why could the boy who hears people’s thoughts not detect it? These details make the audience wonder whether there was a parallel world after all. Additionally, the cir from the so-called parallel world mentioning that “these two must be together in this world” strongly suggests that different worlds existed where they were separated before. Because of this, the final explanation feels incomplete and contradictory.
Overall, The Boy Next World started with a strong and unique concept but ended with too much confusion and unresolved symbolism. The drama had great potential, but the unclear ending and sudden shift in theme made it feel unsatisfying. Instead of giving closure, it left viewers questioning what was real and what was not—until the very last scene.

A Promising Premise With Room for Deeper Exploration
The premise of the show was solid, and overall it was an enjoyable watch. I’ll admit there were moments where I genuinely got excited about certain scenes. The acting was good as well.Even though the multiverse plot was interesting, what really caught my attention was the stalking and obsession aspect. I wish they had explored that more deeply and shown real consequences... not just the whole “he was good to me, so I’ll forgive him” angle. Yes, I did want them to be endgame, but I still would’ve liked a deeper look into Cir’s character and how his family situation shaped him into who he is.
The secondary couple was cute, though their development was a bit odd at the beginning, definitely some boundary issues there.
I’d probably rewatch it. It’s a premise with a lot of potential, maybe even enough for a second season.

Chemistry
The BossNoeul chemistry is undeniable. That alone is worth the watch. The story isn't perfect, but there are far worse ways to spend 8 hours than seeing these two together. If you're unsure, try watching the first ten minutes of episode 5. It won't give away too much but you'll see what I'm talking about. Was this review helpful to you?
Unexpectedly Fell In Love With The Boy Next World Universe
Let me start off by saying that I feel extremely compelled to write this review. I started this series with so much hesitation because of all the negative reviews, but thank God I was desperately in need of a captivating story or gripping chemistry and held onto my expectation that MLs (Boss & Noeul) would deliver at least that, if nothing else. I have to say that going into this with so much trepidation, I was completely hooked from the first episode and binged the whole thing in a single day.Talking about the storyline, I honestly do not understand the people who said they couldn't comprehend it because to me it was a completely solid plotline. Whatever was relevant to the story of Cir & Phu, they showed it perfectly. Whether it was related to the parallel universe or the unrequited love, though I do get that maybe an additional three episodes would be better with more focus on the supernatural elements, as we don't really get an answer on why and how some characters have these extra abilities. It was a complete story for me otherwise. The production was really good too, and honestly, they can definitely do more and build this universe.
My favorite part of all of this was the chemistry between the leads; they were an absolute delight, and not to mention the side characters were amazing too. I truly did fall in love with this universe and honestly would love more stories within this universe.
It was a great watch for me, and I honestly don't get the dislike. All I would say is give it a try and see if it is up to you.

Best BL Series 2025
The best series I've watched in 2025. I feel the producers and everyone involeved really sat down and planned out everything slowly and gave it time to have perfect results. Then we also have the cast especially the main leads giving it their all. Every new episode leaves you excited and curious about the next. The progression of the story from each episode is great i would really recommend it to anyone, the best series in my opinion. Was this review helpful to you?
Most Amazing Series by BossNoeul
This is one of the most captivating BL series I’ve watched so far. The visuals, color grading, CGI, storyline, and especially the performances by Boss and Noeul as P'Cir and N'Phu were outstanding. The series is a complete package, blending action, drama, comedy, and fantasy seamlessly. Kudos to the entire cast and crew of the TBNW series—every actor played their role perfectly, with no one feeling unnecessary or like a wasted resource. The parallel world element added an exciting twist, and Boss delivered a spectacular performance. Plus, the OSTs are among the best in the industry for a series. I encourage everyone to give this incredible series a chance with an open mind and without bias. It’s definitely a watch worth your time!P.S: NC is among the best in the industry, and we're talking about BossNoeul here. Their romance and romantic scenes are simply unmatched and untouchable.
