Roof Confessions
This drama unfolds with the Mikkoto contemplating suicide on the school roof, only to be met with an unexpected confession from her teacher Jin Haiba proposing to date before her perceived demise.Despite the weirdness I felt at first, the storyline evolves beyond typical teacher-student romance, revealing the complex character of Haiba Jin.
Initially perceived as careless, his actions (Flirting and stalking 🤭) take on new meaning when seen through a different lens, revealing a thoughtful and caring side that adds depth to the storyline.
Mikkoto's character is equally compelling, portraying innocence, kindness, and a strong analytical mind. The dynamic between the two characters is well-crafted, making them a match made in heaven.
Their journey, marked by healing and understanding, adds depth to the storyline.
It was cute seeing them trying to be together, but they knew their limits and waiting for her to graduate.
The ending hit me with some real feels, leaving that bittersweet sadness. I was itching for more after graduation😅
Truly, this review do not do justice to this drama, the screenwriters were really smart about the way to broach very hard subjects, but they still did in a light way, always lifting the mood and adding humor in right places.

Don’t judge this drama by Its Title is really worth
Despite the title, *Falling High School Girl and Irresponsible Teacher* turned out to be such a great watchYes, it’s about a high school girl who develops feelings for her teacher — but not in the way you might expect. If you’re assuming this is a typical romanticized student–teacher story, it really isn’t. And honestly? That’s what makes it so good.
The chemistry between the leads completely carries the show. The female lead is sarcastic, gloomy, sharp-tongued and incredibly self-aware. She doesn’t romanticize anything. She calls out the teacher on his words, his behavior, his irresponsibility. She challenges him constantly.
The male lead, on the other hand, is effortlessly funny. He has this unserious, almost careless energy but it works. Whenever a moment starts to feel like it’s turning romantic, they flip it into sarcasm or humor. The banter between them is genuinely entertaining.
Their dynamic feels unconventional, messy, and real. And that contrast between her darkness and his chaotic humor makes every interaction engaging.
But this story goes much deeper than witty banter. At its core, it’s about a girl who is struggling with wanting to end her life. And it’s about a teacher who, in his own flawed and imperfect way, tries to save her while she is also slowly learning how to save herself. That’s what makes the series powerful. It’s not about forbidden romance. It’s about emotional survival. It’s about pain, responsibility, and healing even when the people involved aren’t perfect heroes. The tone balances humor and heaviness in a way that feels surprisingly natural.
The first season was amazing (and yes, there is a Season 2). The actors truly elevated this story. Without their performances, it could have easily felt uncomfortable or shallow but instead, it feels layered and thoughtful. It’s funny. It’s sarcastic. It’s darker than you expect. If you’re willing to look past the title, you might find something much deeper underneath.

Fresh, Deadpan and Cute
I've seen the manga around but was a bit reluctant to read because you know Student x Teacher but man I'll have to pick up the manga to get my fix because I need more of Haijin and Mikoto!I don't really knoe how to give a real review so I'll just give some points;
- The OSTs are bloody amazing, they fit the vibe and theme of the show perfectly and are a permanent part of my playlist
*Kimikimimai, the upbeat opening song that always got me hyped to watch a new episode and I could never skip it, and
*Matomo Janai no ga Choudo Ii no, a cute calming ending song accompanied with cat visuals! 10/10!
- The comedy and jokes, which translated over wonderfully might I add. Each episode had me giggling and of course looking forward to the next scene.
- The actors were just amazing. They delivered the jokes well, had good rapport and chemistry and those backhugs had me kicking my feet.
- The story was just so good, the mix of dark and gloomy topics with humor will alwasy be a good combo and this show does it so well!
This review isn't good but if you're still contemplating watching, atleast try the first episode. More people need to watch this

If you have any concerns about this drama, read this review.
First of all, the message in this drama was phenomenal. As someone who’s suffering depression, I like how the ml approach the fl. Of course trust me it’ll look weird as heck when u first watch their first meet cause he said some weird things but i promise you, he’s more than just that. At first i thought this was one of those really weird student/teacher drama but honestly im glad I watched this. The leads are not only funny as hell and great at delivery their lines, they also teach us to see depression and loneliness in a different point of view. The best part of this drama was the leads. They are HILARIOUS but also so sweet. I’m telling u their humour are top tier and considering that this drama revolves around suic*de makes this drama 100x better. I feel like this drama can cure depression lmao. But on a serious not, I understand if ur concern about the plot and the genre but im telling you, this short drama might just be one of the best out there. Whoever casted these two leads are just geniuses and the script are all just so brilliant. For the hopeless romantics, there ARE sweet giggles scenes. The ml is so cute im telling you he ate his role up. If you want to know any negative thing about this drama is that IT NEEDS A SEASON 2 or at least them getting married or something. This should be an hour long episode with like 10 eps but oh well. That’s all for the review, this will be in my rewatch list definitely. Was this review helpful to you?
Unique
While the story is nothing new, there is a je ne sais quoi about this drama that makes it stand out.It avoids most pitfalls usually found in forbidden love dramas.
In their own way, both characters are mature and confident. They're both smart and communicate well. They both understand that they love each other and that, to protect that love, they must hide it. And, because they both nonchalantly accept that reality as a matter of fact, their love, in turn, starts feeling oddly real and undeniable.
There are no annoying misunderstandings, no loud scenes, no real challenges arising in the way of the overall narrative arc.
I guess, in that sense, it could be boring to some viewers. But it is also funny and constantly surprising.
Will definitely watch again.

It's just weirdly attractive!! - not that kind of teacher-student relationship that you know.
Hell LOL. What the hell is this series about? It's freaking weird. OK. I know, most of you, and me too hate this kind of teacher-student relationship. But, this drama is beyond that. This is just weird and weird and weirdly you like it. I mean it's more than that kind of romantic story that you have. I don't know, I love it. And it's not cringey at all. And the visual is beautiful too.Was this review helpful to you?
Ok but if my teacher looked like that, I'd crush on him too
I liked this! They actually have really good chemistry too. The story between them is really enjoyable to watch and I really enjoyed both seasons. I think the show did just enough to show what their relationship is without pushing the boundaries too much. I think it had a pretty good ending as well. Was this review helpful to you?
Being alive... together
That was wonderful. I actually didn't want to watch it in one go... but then I did. The two main characters Jin and Mikoto are very interesting and charming - especially thanks to the good acting. The dry humor and dark comedy are on point. The cinematography is very beautiful. The music is simple yet fitting. The chemistry is very good. In some scenes, Jin looks at Mikoto so warmly, so full of love and respect... I simply melted away. What I find particularly impressive is that serious topics like death and suicide are usually talked about in a more light-hearted way without ridiculing the subject. It is taken seriously without being overwhelming or stressful for me as a viewer. The actions and dialog about these topics are cleverly and artfully done.
And both protagonists know that a student-teacher relationship is taboo. It's addressed again and again, but not overly dramatized - thanks to the comedy. It is a fictional story and if you as a viewer can handle such taboo topics in a fictional setting with fictional characters, then chances are high that you will enjoy this drama. I certainly did. I think I can even go so far as to say that Jin and Mikoto will be one of my comfort couples now.

Deep and hopeful
"The dialogues were wonderful, and the element of excitement was always present. I believe it’s the best series I've ever watched in my life! It talks about loneliness and about two people who strangely and perfectly prefer to be alone together. I don’t like violence in kisses or forced kisses, nor do I like kisses after asking for permission. The romantic scenes here were wonderful in a healthy and surprising way."Was this review helpful to you?

Left wanting more...
I enjoy the manga this series is based on so I was nervous about watching, however, I can tell you that I was extremely and pleasantly surprised about how each episode came together. Though I'm not too sure I will have a lot to say in this review, only because I feel like the show itself, or maybe it's the story, was too short, but here is what I thought....I really enjoyed watching Hashimoto Ryo and Takaishi Akari in their roles, especially as I continued with each episode. I haven't seen either of them in a show or movie before, and I usually stick to show's where I know most of the actors, so it was very refreshing to see some new faces. Especially because they both really managed to act out their roles similar to how the manga characters are. I think the story itself is new, I do remember some episodes or pieces of the episodes that were in the manga, but because each actor/actress brought the character to life while simultaneously showing themselves as well, I believe the live-action is an incredibly real, honest, relatable, genuine journey through high school, the awkward years, and the difficulties in growing up (not to mention over coming issues from the past).
I do wish that there were more episodes, I feel like there is so much left to say and I wish that we could have seen a few more characters from the manga make an appearance. I don't feel like there are any questions left to answer, other than I wanted to see more acting from Hashimoto Ryo and Takaishi Akari both as themselves and as their characters, Haiba Jin and Ochiai Mikoto. Watching this show felt like watching the manga come to life, I believe the embodiment of the characters from the manga and the creation of them in live-action form was spectacular, fascinating to watch, and most definitely full of charm. I really hope there will be more to this story; I also wonder why they stopped at 9 episodes.
Apparently I had a lot to say.... Oops....

Best drama for teenagers !! ✔️?
This drama was so good! A must watch if you are a teenager. Their acting was so good. I just stumbled upon this drama but honestly I feel lucky to see this drama. Rare gem
I am always on the look at for a particular drama and this one is just about spot on what i love. The fact that it was also Japanese made my heart melt. I love Jdramas, but they are really messy imo and I rarely find ones I like, let alone love, and I freaking loved this one.It was so good I couldn't stop watching until I finished it! I loved every second. I'm a huge fan of dead pan anime type humor and this had a lot. They have so much chemistry together its crazy.
I wish they would do more dramas together.
This does have a teacher/student realastionship theme, so if that bothers you I wouldn't suggest it. If done right, I personally love this trope, mostly the older/younger trope. I always want to see how they deal with it and where it goes. This is the first one I've seen that has filled my heart and burst with satisfaction.
I found it extreamly good and funny. The teacher dynamic, plus older/younger doesn't bother me in dramas because its a drama. Its a nice escape, even if it has to do with real world issues because its controlled. Nothing bad is going to to happen in this drama. No ones creepy or gross. No one gets assaulted. No one gets preyed upon or taken advantage of. It didn't feel like an unbalanced power dynamics either. It's a sweet drama, with some a sometimes dark theme of wanting to unalive yourself, but nothing bad happens thankfully.
If you can, forget about the "what happens in real life" thoughts and just enjoy the chemistry, writing, acting, and overall warmth of this drama. Happy watching 🥰
