A bit convoluted and sometimes confusing
After watching this series i wish they just made the Do Ra-Mi movieFirst the casting, its mostly ok. Though i think ML was a miscast, he just feels too old. Especially with his mom's actress being only 7 years older than him, but i guess thats a too young casting there.
The side romance was completely unnecessary and honestly i disliked the second FL, i think its mainly the way her character was handled and presented because done differently she could have been fun. Like i have no idea what was supposed to make the manager dude like her.
The main story was sometimes nice but sometimes very confusing and not in a way that feels intentional because of FL's split personality. Honestly dont have too much to say it just felt like a mishandled premise. And i hated the ending, so many twisty twists, why? "But wait there is more twists. But wait even more, and some extra on top"

Love Beyond Words
“Love is about understanding.” I think that’s true. It’s not only about how people should understand their partner, but also about understanding each other. It’s about how two people share their feelings, their words, and especially their love. This drama made me realize that a relationship is more than just forcing yourself to accept someone. It’s about learning to understand each other’s language and the way each person expresses their feelings.
The chemistry between the characters feels natural, and the female lead portraying two characters at the same time is truly impressive.
This drama also became the 100th drama I’ve watched, which makes it feel special as a personal milestone. A solid 9.3/10 for me.⭐️

travel drama with a hidden meaning
After starting on this drama it made me realise how misleading the trailers were. I really thought it was gonna be a slow paced travel romance drama. But to my pleasant surprise I was actually shocked by the plot line.Firstly, this is definitely a really high budgeted drama because the filming was beautiful and Cha Muhee's fits were all so pretty! Cha Muhee was also a very down to earth humble character who had a difficult upbringing but worked hard as an actress from the beginning. With the success of her movie her life changed but she still never lost the passion she had. However, as she becomes more famous the stress also increases.
Before she became famous she met Joo Hojin on a trip to japan. She fell for him very fast and tried many ways to get his attention. Funny thing is she was caught everytime and after some point JHJ just finds her efforts very cute. Joo Hojin is a more practical person which CMH acts more on her feelings.
So although CMH is very obvious with her intentions, it takes JHJ really long to fully open up. Now this is where i feel it could have been done better. CMH was not confident so she kept backing out thinking she is being a burden to him. He already likes her but still rejects her multiple times. So...this part was dragged for a bit.
Oh! omg i have to mention the japanese actor Hiro. I thought he was just an extra character who appears for a few secs but NOOO his character was so funny and unexpected. It was an interesting twist!
-- SPOILER --
lastly, Do Ra Mi. I really did not expect a split personality plot. Do Ra Mi was so wild and it was funny how they just kept going for night dates. Naturally as she found healing with JHJ, Do rami disappears and CMH gets all the memories.
Overall, apart from the leads being a abit frustrating, the music, the cinematography, the plot, is all not bad! I think it was still worth the watch!

The acting was top-notch and the storyline kept me interested from beginning to end. I especially loved how the drama explored love, communication, and misunderstandings in such a heartfelt way.
Overall, it’s a beautiful drama with a strong cast and a touching story. Definitely worth watching if you enjoy romance with depth and great performances.

Can this love be translated?
At first I did not plan to watch this, I do not know what change in the meantime. Big plus that episodes were out on release date (eventhough I watched it for a long time and could finished sooner only because I was sick - great I could watch it, not great to be sick). It is mostly calm type of drama, all characters were likeable - really no one was annoying. There are only 12 episodes and I think that it was good amount, although for a moment I thought that it could end at episode 10 (it would not work well).
Acting was great. Chemistry was perfect, I really like main couple - althought I feel I like second a little more - both were cute - what happened with kdrama and beginning relationship with sexy time XD?
Small spoiler - I am really happy that it the end she was going to therapy, I was afraid that they would ignore the fact that she needed it.
All in all, it was really great drama, totally worth watching.
Side note: it is not a good idea to write reviews after two weeks xd

The actress & the translator
Main characters: Go Yoon Jung (Alchemy of Souls) and Kim Seon Ho (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha).Kim Seon Ho, the "translator," worked really hard to act in this series. I read that it only took him four months to learn these five languages (Japanese, English, Italian, French, and Chinese) and switch between them. Congratulations.
Another strong point is the stunning locations. They're top-notch, highly Instagrammable shots.
Her split personality that emerges in times of need is initially disturbing, but then this determined and resourceful version of her helps and encourages.
The last two episodes left me a little disappointed. I found the ending a bit dragged out, and then the lead woman's background is finally revealed, which I thought needed a little more exploration, given that it's the basis of her "split personality." Then, the news that her parents were still alive, in my opinion, they could have done without it.
While his brother, who made a fleeting appearance, I would have liked him to be more involved in the story.
Seeing a "mixed" cast was interesting and here the importance of knowing languages emerges.

Between Words and Feelings: A Story of Untranslated Love
This is one of those dramas that will either deeply resonate with you or leave you feeling disconnected. For me, it was a very personal and thought-provoking watch. It kept circling around one core question in my mind: can love really be translated? Can it be explained in words? I feel like everyone has their own definition, and this drama leans into that uncertainty rather than trying to give one fixed answer. The story follows an interpreter whose quiet and structured life is turned upside down when he meets an actress with a complicated personality and deep psychological struggles. He tries again and again to understand her, to interpret her emotions the way he does with language, but keeps failing. Still, he cannot let go. The more he tries to distance himself, the more he gets pulled back in. That emotional conflict felt very real and is what kept me invested in their journey.
The drama is clearly divided into two parts. The first half focuses on building their connection. We see them meet, clash, slowly grow closer, and eventually fall for each other, but realistic misunderstandings keep them apart. The second half shifts more toward the female lead’s psychological state and her past. It tries to explain why she behaves the way she does and how deeply she actually feels. The romance does not disappear, but it becomes quieter and more subtle, shown through actions, silence, and small gestures rather than direct confessions.
What I personally loved the most was the storytelling style. Each episode gives you something to think about. Sometimes something happens and you spend the whole episode wondering why, and just when you get an answer, another question appears. It keeps you engaged if you are willing to pay attention. This is not a drama where you can just watch casually. If you are only looking for obvious romance or surface-level moments, you might feel disappointed, but if you are into layered and slightly complex storytelling, it really works.
Another thing I absolutely loved was how poetic and metaphorical the drama feels throughout. It is not just in the dialogues but also in the way scenes are presented. Many moments feel like visual poetry, where emotions are expressed through silence, framing, and symbolism rather than words. The use of beautiful landscapes, soft lighting, and carefully composed shots makes almost every scene feel like a painting. At times, it honestly felt like watching a moving art gallery. The cinematography adds so much depth to the emotions, making even the quietest moments feel meaningful and immersive.
The main leads completely carried the drama for me. Their chemistry felt natural and emotionally layered without needing dramatic scenes. I really liked how their relationship developed slowly over time. The female lead stood out the most. She is complex, vulnerable, and sometimes frustrating, but very human. Her struggles with self-worth, trauma, and emotional expression were portrayed in a way that felt genuine.
As for the male lead, this was actually my first time watching him, and I was genuinely impressed. His voice and the way he delivers his lines fit the character perfectly. There is a certain calm depth in his tone that makes even simple dialogues feel meaningful. His gaze, especially in quiet moments, carries so much emotion without needing words. The way he looks at the female lead, the hesitation, the understanding, the restraint, it all felt very natural and added so much to the emotional weight of their relationship. It made me like him as an actor and definitely want to watch more of his work.
There are some weaknesses though. The side characters had potential but were not explored enough. Some of their storylines felt incomplete, and I did not feel very invested in them. The second male lead and other relationships were present but lacked depth, which I think was intentional to avoid heavy love triangle drama, but it also made them less impactful. The final part of the drama also felt a bit rushed. There was a twist toward the end that did not really add much and was resolved too quickly, which made it feel unnecessary.
Even with these flaws, I genuinely enjoyed the experience. It is not a typical romance drama. It is more about emotional understanding, miscommunication, and learning how to love someone in a way they can understand. It stays with you even after it ends. I found myself still thinking about the characters, their choices, and wanting to see more of their lives.
One thing I really appreciated is how the drama shows that language barriers are not just about different spoken languages, but about emotional languages as well. Even when two people speak the same words, they can still misunderstand each other because they express love, fear, and care in completely different ways. The drama makes it clear that understanding someone is not about translating their words, but about learning their emotional language. You have to be willing to listen beyond what is said, to notice the silences, the actions, and the intentions. For me, that was one of the most powerful messages of the story, that love is not just about communication, but about truly learning how the other person feels and expresses themselves.
For me, it was a satisfying watch. Not perfect, but definitely memorable, especially if you are in the right mindset and willing to connect with its depth.

Good Acting | Bad plot | Melodramatic
Start of the show was quite nice, but then we got into both the male and female leads backstory and trauma, which felt underutilized as we barely dived into it, they made it seem extremely sad and interesting yet we weren't really shown anything on screen to show for it... They tried to cover up the gaps with the female lead being cute and silly.Honestly the secondary couple with Kim Yong U was kinda better than the main couple 😭.
I did enjoy the comedy and cutesy aspect of the show but that's about it, plot was underwhelming.
8/10 at BEST

Almost Great, But Overloaded
The series started strong and genuinely pulled me in, but there was always this underlying feeling that it could’ve been tighter and better. It tried to do a lot at once — touching on mental health, leaning into romance, flirting with rom-com energy, and then suddenly shifting into something more serious. Because of that, it ended up feeling like a mixed bag. After about eight episodes, the emotional weight started to feel exhausting rather than engaging, mostly because the story kept stretching itself instead of refining what it already had.Honestly, this would’ve worked beautifully as a shorter mini-series. Six well-paced episodes could have delivered a more focused and impactful story, instead of dragging things out. Since it’s on Netflix, the binge factor (and fast-forward option) helps, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as a first K-drama. That said, it’s still a decent watch — not bad by any means — and it feels like there were more stories and depth here that just needed better structure to truly shine.

Was this review helpful to you?

Romance was good, mental health stuff not so much
I love the leads and was really liking their kindling romance....but I didn't like the split personality aspect at all. Obviously, this isn't real life nor is it based on real life, but IF someone you knew started showing signs of multiple personalities, you'd probably contact or advise they see a mental health professional (which, granted this topic was touched on, but only like three times). This could've been a great way to shed light on/normalize/highlight DID in the k-film industry in a super healthy way! OR in a realistic and not-so-healthy way....instead, we had something in between, where we didn't exactly recognize an actual mental health issue and sort of made light of it using romance...does that make sense? I'm not entirely sure how to put my feelings into writing, but the whole alter aspect felt icky. Also, there were way too many surprise plots in the very last episode...and we never even got to see the reunion between Mu-hee and her mother!
BUT I really do like the translator and actress dynamic, that's a super cute and intriguing trope!

Got me out of my loong kdrama slump.
this literally got me back into watching k-dramas . after the beginning of 2025 I lost the interest that I had in k-dramas and mostly just rewatched some of my favorites but then I just stopped. it was kind of annoying to see all of the cliches and basically the same type of acting and/or stories. even though there were some interesting k-dramas coming out I felt like very few couples had the perfect mix of chemistry/good acting /interesting plot.So after 7 months i decided to give it a try with this one and honestly i don't know if it's because it's been so long, but this literally got me hooked from the first episode all the way to the last one.
The choice of the actors was so perfect and nothing can change my mind, the scenes were BEAUTIFUL in such a cinematic way, the story was so interesting, so simple and so complex, the amount of characters and their stories were so well written that i almost felt like part of their world, the main character were acting like real ADULTS, it could be argued tho that the MFL was "too persistent" on persuing the man, but I think it was a perfect amount of yearning over someone that has seen hidden parts of you, that obviously cares about you but still doesn't wanna show it, maybe because he's scared or because he's not over someone (unfortunately we cannot choose who we fall for! and I personally, being 21, know it very well).
I like it how it's not the usual nonchalant guy that never talks and the awkward and shy girl that looks away and talks quietly.
I already loved both the actors separately, but together they were was such an unexpectedly amazing combo.
I would've preferred some scenes to be without music, because in my opinion sometimes silence is louder and deeper than any other thing.
It was such an insight in mental health, mental illnesses and unresolved traumatic events and i feel like that explains at 360° the main female lead and her personality.
I love these "realistic" type of stories when they're so well done and honestly i cannot wait for time to pass so i can rewatch it. I don't usually rewatch shows that i feel like i liked just because of the plot, that's because knowing how something goes/ends makes everything else boring, but when they're acted so beautifully, the scenes are so well written and it really feels like a COMPLETE STORY I just can't wait to rewatch their performance.
