Lan Xiang found herself in Yangzhou in QingYan brothel. She saw the consequence for trying to escape so she opted for more time by having her bid on to up the price. In Jinling JinQi sees the matchmaker Han was going to have over and knows time is closing in. He also finds himself with a new mission to get the prince out of the city. He is helping the prince escape by having a body similar in build to distract and sneaking him away to Yangzhou with him by boat. It is funny when they are all trapped in the opera house that he volunteers to assist with the hunt. The Zhaos want rid of him so badly that they acknowledge his acquaintances and shoos them out the gate. 😂🤣 Mischief managed. 😝 Then he gets him to La Dalang’s ship. In the brothel it is time for LanXiang to prepare for first customer. She is greeted by a lady with scarved hat and it turns out to be Ji’Er who helps her escape. Lan Xiang vows to save her. Ji’Er plays along but she doesn’t quite dare to hope, but knowing how LanXiang keeps her word for the first time in years she comes as close to hoping as she can. She gives LanXiang some jewelry to sell which ends up in a chicken pen. LanXiang paid the farmer back for the chickens he lost in the distraction. She helps a gma exiting so they look like a family. While she is exiting, JinQi is entering and his face is ready to kill whoever is in his way to getting LanXiang.

Oh God, he heard the proposal, it's over. His plan just accelerated now. The second he found her, he'll marry her. XD 😂😂😂Worst timing ever, but then again, time is ont on his side, nor is anything actually (especially not his family lol)I think, with how he was showing up at Lanxiang's house whenever he could, Jinqi probably wanted them to slowly get closer but destiny wouldn't allow it, lol.The way he purposefully omitted saying where was Lanxiang to Scholar Han but Scholar Han managed to share the same destination as his. They are really neck to neck about being into Lanxiang.Ji'er, poor Ji'er. I did not think we will see her again, let alone in such conditions. She was a fool but not a mean girl, glad to see that didn't change. I truly hope Lanxiang will manage to save her and won't come too late.This drama really show a lot of ugly sides of that era. These men biding to be the first client to take the virginity of these young girls, ugh, utterly disgusting. 🤮Ji'er saying the brothel madam will punish by sending her more clients to make more money out of her, ugh, my blood is boiling. 🤬 And just Ji'er pretending to be strong and fine in this place she's been for 2 years but breaking down when Lanxiang promise her to come back for her, my heat 💔🤧Thankfully, our smart cookie Lanxiang escaped!

Lin Jin Qi continues to investigate the case of the deposed prince. In a conversation with the marquis, he mentions that he will help the prince escape by ship; after all, the man is innocent and deserves to live in peace somewhere. The deposed prince—who bears no resemblance to royalty and is dressed in rags—tears up with emotion and thanks Lin Jin Qi. (There are parts of this I didn't quite grasp. It seems there was a moment when he realized it was impossible to get the deposed prince out of there—even though the current king is gravely ill and might die (or so I understood). While the soldiers were still at the house, Lin Jin Qi—exuding his dashing charm—stepped in to speak with them. He tried every possible way to insert himself into the ongoing investigation, but the soldiers' leaders managed to shake off both him and Scholar Han, going so far as to escort them out of the estate gates. Afterward, Lin Jin Qi and the deposed prince managed to slip away from Scholar Han, leaving him looking suspicious and displeased. Later, Lin Jin Qi made a sudden appearance at Scholar Han’s home, finding him with his mother and a matchmaker who was arranging a marriage between Jia Lam and the scholar (though his arrival was ill-timed and only deepened the sorrow of Jia Lam’s father). Lin Jin Qi somewhat unnerved Scholar Han, who could see his intentions written in his eyes—after all, the two men were rivals for Jia Lam’s heart. Yet, in this moment of distress, they actually worked together to search for her, even though Lin Jin Qi kept the most crucial part of the plan to himself.Lin Jin Qi arrived dressed in black, wearing a wide-brimmed black hat that suited him perfectly; the brim cast a shadow that framed his face, highlighting his masculine beauty. He moved with a resolute, slender, and athletic bearing, walking firmly toward the goal of finding Jia Lam. He even managed to outmaneuver Scholar Han, who had nearly boarded the same small boat Lin Jin Qi was about to take.But... this time, Jia Lam had gotten herself into a real mess. She ended up in a brothel, where her clever retorts seemed ineffective against the madam, a woman who was cunning and shrewd. Jia Lam listed all her skills, noting that...) ...did not seem to convince the establishment's owner. Jia Lam (Lan Xiang) even painted flowers on the woman's fan using a smear of blood to prove her artistic skill, buying time with a clever excuse to avert the worst outcome. However, Jier—a young woman who had worked at the Lin estate and become Jia Lam's friend—made a sacrifice by taking Jia Lam's place. They swapped clothes, allowing Jia Lam to slip out the front door. She still had to face an obstacle heading her way: the brothel owner. Yet, the young woman accompanying Jia Lam covered for her silence by claiming she was simply in a foul mood. When the brothel owner discovered the deception, she did not give up the search for Jia Lam. Meanwhile, Jia Lam changed into simple attire and evaded the soldiers by releasing chickens upon them; she then joined an elderly woman to blend into the crowd unnoticed.At that very moment, a dashing young commander arrives at a swift gallop, searching for Jia Lam. It is Lin Jin Qi. It looks as though the two are about to collide. (We must wait for the next episode to find out. Let's move on to Episode 24.)

Ah, the guy WAS the deposed Crown Prince, just as I theorized in my mind! And Jinqi helped him to escape from the city to keep him safe. AND he must be kept safe, because I think if the political storm comes and all the corrupt and power-hungry schemers in high places fall, we might want a good Emperor to sit on the throne. And the deposed Crown Prince might just be the right one. 😌And, OMG, Jier... I never thought I would be so happy to see her again! 🥹 She helped our Lanxiang to escape the brothel. I really hope nothing bad happens to her and she stays safe until Lanxiang can free her from there. 🙏🥺And the cliffhanger... I hope they will see each other, but I worry they might not. 🫣This drama is so awesome, I can't even explain how much I love it so far!
