A cute BL drama fantasy that should stay in fantasyland

It was very cute but such relationship wouldn't last/work in reality. Mizuki offering Yoh shelter in the series was a way for Mizuki to indirectly say that he likes Yoh but that's very weird for me.. and Yoh accepting it so easily is like accepting an ice cream from a van that kidnaps children. Continuing on, it seems to me that Yoh moves in eggshells everytime he's around Mizuki, he adjust everything accordingly to what Mizuki likes and it's like a husband(mizuki)/wife(yoh) dynamic in japan where the guys go to work while the girl be a housewife, you know the guys be lazy at home while the girl do everything at home and that dynamic is so icky!! In addition, I think their first time doing "it" was also from Mizuki's liking rather than Yoh, it doesn't look consensual since in later episodes, then Yoh just found out his feelings for Mizuki so they weren't even in a relationship to begin with but rather they we're roommates then(?) but Mizuki gatekeeps Yoh IDK IT'S CONFUSING there were so many miscommunication since they barely talk about their feelings to each other other than talking about food, laundry, cleaning and s*x :/

The actors were all good-looking and very good with their performance and the two leads chemistry is so well!! I wish for them to appear on another drama together cause the chemistry is out of this world, they fit well and I wanna see them in another setting where the story actually matters rather than a lot of fanservice-kind of drama series.

wishing for another season that will help resolve my issues from this!!

I guess miscommunications works well with these two

*happy ending*

I think they did a great job recreating the manga. They really did well in acting the tense scenes and making the love scenes seems sensual but without showing too much.

The actors are very handsome as well. Though i dont know if it is their acting or the leads' characters that are the problem. I think their characters are too static and flat. I am kind of sad that the series only showcased the part where there is not much development in their relationship and in their own careers. This series became somewhat like an introduction series ofr a future season 2, if there will be one.

I hope i can see growth in the next season in their characters as well as the actors' acting.
I still love though that their kisses is not a peck but also not a very deep kiss. I can feel them being comfortable with one another.

Must watch BL i might say. ♥️

I wanted more

Oct 15, 2023

Taikan Yoho is definitely one of the better bls released for the last quarter of 2023. Although, it poses the very red flag and toxic male lead, Segasaki, he is not as bad as what you might expect from the synopsis.

Obviously, this bl is adapted from a manga, so the delivery of certain lines was a bit off when the actors portrayed it. But nevertheless, it was not a huge thing for me to notice or for me to drop the show.

The plot is pretty cute but I did feel like the ending did not give a very good closure of the series. It just seemed like it got cut off right there.

I still think that the series is pretty decent in terms of comparison with the on going/recently released asian BLs.

Please give this show some love as it deserves it!

Wonderful

I thought this was an excellent adaptation of the manga. They even kept material that international viewers would not approve of, and I like that they kept their focus on staying true to the story. Japanese people are socialized to "read the air" in social situations, but this series was an example that even people brought up to do this from birth, do not always get it right. Both Yoh and Segasaki struggle with not understandings the other's feelings.

I thought the ending was so sweet and tender. Both characters gain clarity in that they both expressed loving the other, and are now a couple. Yoh now knows that he isn't just a loser freeloader, and Segasaki now knows that Yoh reciprocates his feelings.. I thought that it was poignant to show them making love, then having a meal together, things that couples do together. That touched my heart more than tears or a monologue. The only flaw was the fujoshi shipper, but at least she was not over the top about it. She genuinely cared for her friend Yoh.

The definition of a possessive boyfriend

In my opinion I don’t think I can live without watching them. They are so cute and have so much chemistry. Yoh is literally my favorite person ever because he’s so adorable especially that episode that he was drunk and very jealous because Mizuki and Manju were talking together so he thought they would be a perfect couple and when he got jealous I was melting because he’s so adorable when he’s sulking also when he was clinging onto Mizukis waist because he didn’t want him to walk Manju to the station. Also it’s so obvious that Mizuki loves Yoh even when they were in college because the way he looked at him and in episode 7 when he literally kept Yoh with him when he was sick. They are such a cute couple like whenever they were together it was just amazing with how much chemistry they had with each other. Also when they went on a date together and shared their food with each other and I literally got beautiful man vibes when Yoh went to get drinks for Mizuki and his friends, and Mizuki then leaving his friends to hang out with Yoh. Also I seriously think that the actor who plays Mizuki fits this show so much because he literally looks like he came out of a manga. I seriously recommend this series I’m so depressed that it’s now over and I do wish that Personal Weatherman will get a season 2 because I love this show so much.

melhor casting de todos!!

simplesmente maravilhoso!! a atuação impecável, produção linda, áudio maravilhoso, incrível história.

The best portrayal of power dynamics in a TV show

I think viewers not used to relationships with power dynamics may find this toxic. But to me, it was so clear that they both wanted it. The way Mizuki acts possessive and controlling, it is so clear Yoh craves that. OMG. I am amazed at how relatable this series is! So intense and well done.

Their acting is completely natural. I could believe they are just portraying themselves it feels that real. 10/10.

Story: There is no plot as such but considering the goal of this is to explore their relationship, that is the whole plot! And they excel at that. I understand that they have misunderstandings in this show, but as a viewer it was clear from episode 1 that both of them were into each other. Their relationship is also very fresh, so a lot of their insecurities/misunderstandings are understandable!! 10/10

Background sounds are perfectly chosen too. 10/10

I will definitely rewatch and I am so glad I heard about this show!

My Pefect BL Series

This is my 2nd BL series after "My Beautiful Man", and everything about My Personal Weatherman is perfect. The casting, the acting and the on/off-screen chemistry. I saw that many hate the miscommunication, but I personally loved it, because they kind of slowly understanding each other. If you really think about them communicating, the series would end in 2 episodes lol. Anw, a must watch!!!

This was soooo good

Don't read if you don't want spoilers.

This drama was truely amazing, I binge watched it last night and i'm so glad I did.
The story was really nice, I do agree with some people that they did have a bit of a lack when it came to communication but that tbh wasn't a very big deal for me.

THE ACTORS THEIR CHEMISTRY WAS TOP TIERRRRRR
Idrk what else to say about it their chemistry was sooooo good and their NSFW scènes were also really nicely done.

The only things i'm a bit confused about are; the ending, the very last scene was them eating together and then it just... ended? It really feels like there should come a S2, (wich probably won't happen but maybe... you never know)or it just feels like its missing something. And the other thing i'm a bit...confused? About is the fact that they never officialy had that "I like you" talk or just never really had an official confession scene and also never officially became boyfriends.

But those things do not bother me when it comes to wether I still like this story cause even without all of that the story was really amazing and I definately reccomend to watch it as soon as possible! It's also rewatch worthy!!

Would be an amazing prequel

This would not be everyone's cup of tea but this sure is mine. I think the biggest issue with this series is that this is not a fully fleshed-out story, this feels more like a set-up to a really amazing story.

Let's start out with the really good - because the good are so good:
- Tension between the two leads are amazing.
- The complexity and background of the story is fleshed out very organically - they peeled each layer one by one and not presented as a huge exposition monologue.
- Acting is so so so superb, both actors are so good with micro-expressions.
- All scenes are made with intention and contributes to the story. No scenes felt like a filler to me.
- A lot of impactful shots that are incredibly memorable such as the typhoon laundry scene, the curry scene, and the bed sheet scene.
- Well written characters and increasingly complex dimension to each character as we continue to watch.
- Cinematography is kind of excellent to me.
- Actors are both beautiful. I just have to put this out there.

Now moving on the the good, but can be improved:
- Depiction of the BDSM relationship: by the end of the series, we can clearly see that this relationship is not as toxic as what was initially presented, and that they are in some sort of a BDSM relationship agreement. However, there is a huge room for improvement because they should work towards communicating on a clearer relationship contract so there is no ambiguity on what is still within their role as a dom and a sub. I am assuming that Dayo is a bratty sub who loves to push Segasaki's buttons and Segasaki is a brat tamer but even in the end I feel like both of them are still unsure of their limits. This would be acceptable if this is only a prequel but if this is a standalone drama, then this is a huge room for improvement.
- Dayo and Segasaki are very complex characters. Dayo in this still has a huge level of self-acceptance that he needs to do - we see how much internalized homophobia he has and his reluctance to make BL comics even though his strength (as mentioned by the editor) is not in ero-manga. There is a huge storyline they could have developed out of his journey of self-acceptance and the simultaneous finding who he is as a mangaka. Segasaki is someone who masks so much in social situations and builds up such a high wall. Eventhough he said that he doesn't have his walls up with Dayo, he is also unconscious of his lack of communication. There is so much character development that is needed because for a BDSM relationship to be successful, both parties need to be good at communicating their needs and limits, but these two are a bit of a trainwreck at the moment. As I have said multiple times in this review, this series is an amazing set-up, but now we need more.

Unto the bad (there's only one):
The whole series feels like a set-up for another follow-up series. The story does not go anywhere far because the whole thing just does not feel finished. They have set up a conflict, built characters, established the current relationship dynamics, but there has not been any climax or resolution at all. I think this is the main reason people's opinions are so divided on this. Because there is no confirmed sequel, I have to rate the story on the lower end because there isn't much of a story here.

I need a sequel to this. There is so much potential to the story that they could make as a sequel, because we still have so many unresolved conflict. I want to know more about Dayo's future as a mangaka, their relationship evolution, and character development. All in all though, I absolutely adore this series for what it is and I will continue to rewatch because all in all, the good really trumps the bad.

i have PUT timestamps (its kinda embarassing) and my personal opinion/review (CONTAINS SWEAR WORDS)

ep 2 14:00 that huh??
19:00 wait for it ahhhhh love his smileee fuckkkkkk
ep 3 18:35 (kinda annoying because he says cant say thru words but still i like this scene) and his "hmmm" gets me everytime fuckkkk so hott

ep 5 6:15 yhis guy is too fking hot i mean wtf?? the way he said "taku!!" IS HOT TO ME WTFFF????everything that he is doing looks hot to me wtf??? m in that downbad??

ep 8 19:45 (that dialouge..that "hmm" that smile and smirkk everything hereee fukkkkkkk)

this is more of my personal opinion and not a professional review but i hope you read it anyway)

okay okay...i really did not expect to like this soooo much...i had alr watched most of the episodes when it was initially airing yet when i watched it now i did not remember anything AT ALL. And honestly when i first watched it i think i was only for the "sex" scenes but now i wheni watched it i was interested in both the story and intimacy..I will have to say this story was genuinely nice and amazing tho ill accept that i did not like Yoh's character at the beginning he had all the traits (acting cute, unnecessary aegyo, overacts when startled and dense and slow) which i did not like .They annoyed me at the beginning but eventually i got used to it and did not find it annoying anymore (probably just like Mizuki coz during his college days Mizuk too found him annoying but eventually grew to love him)

the story ahh so beautiful from admiring eo from afar to living with each other..im not always a fan with the whole dom sub thing. But this im okay with iti loved the character development towards the end as both of them became a little more expressive than they were..however i still dont like the fact that none of them really confessed by using words like like or love (mizuki did say it but yoh was too dense to understand (as expected))..Yeah honestly i dont know why but i dont have much to say about the storyline except for "its amazing". But yeah..i have a LOT to say about the sexual intimacy and the beauty of Mizuki. (i have to specify because intimacy is not always sexual)

ohhh boy the intimacy fuckk it was sooo great...this is literallly the exact kind of sexual intimacy i want from all dramas. its not too much nor too little just in the middle. (for example in 4 minutes the sex was too much for me and honestly, i skipped through some sex scene especially the scene in ep 2 or something between Great's brother and his partner (sorry im bad with names) ) but then there are some dramas which hardly have any sexually intimate scenes just a kiss which is too little...but 'My personal weatherman ' does it just perfect.

lastly...segasaki mizuki...GODDAMN IT he is such a treat to the eye..im not even kidding when i say that every 2 minutes of every episode of this drama, i had to pause it to literally just breathe and calm myself down like what?? this has NEVER happened to mee fuck...literallly every 2 minutes he does something and im there with my mouth fucking wide open and my heart racing. (yes i checked my heartbeat)...he is such a wonderful actor and im absofuckinglutely obsesssed (you can see that in the timestaps and descriptions) nah coz im seriously obsessed.

Two of a kind

I have watched this BL drama three times now and I just love the interactions between the two, Yoh holds Mizuki in such high regard that he finds it hard to speak to him directly and so holds a lot of conversations in his head, Misuki on the othe hand doesn't seem to realise that Yoh is lonely because he has a job outside of the home and gets to interact with others.
The two main actors work so well together and seem to have a real conection, they are very talented young guys, I hope to see them in other dramas.
