Insanely dramatic
In a way the drama reminded me of 2016 kdramas where theres a LOT of twist, and I liked it. I didn’t read the webtoon so this is entirely just on the drama.Story isnt very new but it was enjoyable.
Acting from the cast was very subpar imo, Jung Yoo Min carried it heavily for me. Lee Minyoung cannot act but its the type of cannot act that adds a lot of comedic value so it doesn’t ruin the drama.
The leads have great chemistry despite Sunghoon mostly beingly consistent with his limited facial expressions lol but paired with Jung Yoomin they made it fantastic!
The side plot of the power battle adds flair to the drama as both parties are rich so it was moreso a battle of morals than anything which I liked.

Pleasantly Surprised
Ok so I PROMISE if you can get past the weird 1st episode it’s totally worth it. I seriously contemplated stopping after the 1st episode. But I’m SO glad I didn’t! I was pleasantly surprised with this show. I usually skip around on boring parts in a show but this one I didn’t really. Every part of the episode was important to know for the whole story. At the end it brings all the puzzle pieces together into a nice happy ending. Was this review helpful to you?
Perfecly imperfect for me
I enjoyed the drama! The story with it's twist and turns were very generic ; but surprisingly, it perfectly blended. It was obvious that it has limited budget, but they did a very good job. Acting wise, with the support of the veteran actors for the main couple, delivered well. I haven't finished reading the Manhwa, but I noticed that they changed a lot of things, mainly to incorporate it all in a 12 episode drama. But, still it is a well-adapted drama. It was a worth it to watch the drama. Was this review helpful to you?
Quality soap-opera - all the familiar plots on steroids
Take all the well-known tropes (or plots) from soap-opera like dramas, add convincing acting from a good cast, season with enough budget to do a quality production based on a well-written script, and you get what feels like a high-quality soap opera on steroids. You could also say this is another "poor girl, rich guy" kind of story, or a take on the "Cinderella genre".
Very brief synopsis:
Han Yi Joo was at a young age adopted into a family, where she was mistreated. As an adult, she found out that her husband was in love with her sister, and her stepmom framed her for her own wrongdoings. HYJ then dies after a car crash, and wakes up as herself a year previous, right before her wedding. She wants revenge, and as the first step, she brakes off the engagement, and then approaches the man her sister had her eyes on, a CEO from a powerful family; Seo Do Guk. He takes her up on her initiative, and they enter into a contractual marriage. His reasons for agreeing turns out to be more than her promise to help support his business dealings, and as secrets and evil acts gradually comes to light, will love also find a way to thrive?
The story is well-paced and balanced between giving you some breathers in between the events propelling the story forward. And although you have all the familiar elements present (scheming, villainous characters, half-siblings fighting for power and attention, business rivalry, one night stands and consequences), it is executed without feeling like cheap tricks. That said: 12 episodes of about an hour each felt like the right length. Much more, and it would have been dragged out, and any less would probably have felt rushed. Even if it is well-written, I am only giving 7,5 stars for the story, as it isn't very original.
I love Sung Hoon as the ML, and Jung Yoo Min in the FL role. The both deliver solid performances, building a connection with the audience. I could sense his sympathy and love, and I felt her deep sorrow and anger.
As for the supporting roles, the cast for those were also very good, and I found especially Han Yi Joo's stepmom and sister to give convincing performances.

This show initially started off good but as it went on it started to become super boring and predictable. The fathers of both the leads could have been omitted from the show as they had nothing to do with the show. The fl's father not recognising his own daughter was so ridiculous. Also, seo jung wook was the most boring villian ever. Every thing in show was overdramatized. Only good thing in this was the leads chemistry.

One issue and a spoiler in the story is the steamy scene between the leads could have been directed well. The intentional or unintentional non consensual bed scene was an extremely uncomfortable watch. It’s 2023 and forceful initiation of physical contact really needs to end.

A Rollercoaster Ride: Fast-Paced Daytime Drama
I wasn't planning to watch this as overly dramatic daytime soaps are not my cup of tea. But with its rave reviews, curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to give it a try. This drama may have its flaws, but it excels in delivering a fast-paced, intense, and captivating experience. Essentially a low-budget, daytime soap opera-style revenge drama, it stands out due to its brisk pacing and constant plot twists. The story moves swiftly, resolving conflicts quickly and keeping viewers eager for more. While some parts are absurd and defy logic, the rapid pace often leads viewers to overlook these faults.
The acting is inconsistent. Sung Hoon's unusually low-pitched voice feels unnatural, and both Jung Yoo Min and Lee Min Young, who plays her stepmother, often stare directly into the camera with overly wide eyes.
At the end of the day, this drama is not going to win any awards and has limited rewatch value for me at least. But it was a fun and satisfying watch, and you have to put away your logical lens to fully enjoy it.

Enjoyable ride
All in all this is a perfectly fine drama. Well thought out plot that is mostly well executed with characters you can root for and villians you can hate. Beautifully shot and styled with stunning cast. A story about a woman who is given a second chance to go back and change her life a year before her death so she chooses to make those responsible pay and finds a man that is willing to help her do just that.I have nothing bad to say about this drama. I enjoyed watching it and was fairly happy with the progression and conclusion of the story. I liked the main characters and felt like for many of them their motives were understandable and rooted in a believable way. Greed is one of humans most toxic traits and it will make some people do anything. Yi Joo's personality was also believable with her trauma clouding some of her actions in a way that makes sense and isn't as frustrating as I have seen done in other dramas.
My one complaint would only be that my curiosity about the ending for the villains was not completely fulfilled but they did at least give you a shadow of an answer. This is a fine drama. Not mind blowing or one of a kind but an enjoyable way to pass the time.

bad choices
So, my problem with this drama besides the acting that sadly it wasn't good, was the even with this the drama would be better if the director made better use of the supporting actors stories. if think that them would be more fun to watch! but I love the drama, I just think that could be better!!! I like this actor, but in this drama that are moments that I think that him acting so bad. and if you be critical was so crazy seen that everyone was almost good, her father in the ending was forgiven, I would like to see what happen with her sister. Was this review helpful to you?

Too Much One sided Drama
2nd wife's son and a daughter of wedlock perfect couplewhy this OLD granny is so one sided with younger son
why whole world is so easy for this couple
i mean this drama places problems for couple and resolve it even before problem is explored
SHORT 12 EP REVENGE DRAMA IN WHICH ONE SIDE IS PURE EVIL AND ONE SIDE IS SAINTS
THIS BROTHERS ARE FIGHTING BECAUSE OF THAT OLD GRANNY BEING TOO MUCH
I GET IT WHAT THEY DID TO OUR FL WAS so wrong, but the main culprit of that her ex bf, she has no revenge for him
but because that idiot liked her younger sister she took revenge of younger sister not the man
it is called selective revenge
bad people suffer ? i mean half of bad people are still with her including her father grandfather and ML
ML took advantage of mentally abusing woman and force himself on to her and made her pregnant
FL only took her revenge on his stepmother Why because she is stepmother and stepmother should be bad person, even if she hasn't done anything she was already a bad person. Drama Logic
and her sister who i don't think did anything that was so bad against her anyways, it wasn't sisters fault that FLs boyfriend liked her ? she took revenge on her sister for being liked by a coward man ?
the Main culprit of everything was just forgotten ? SML was reason of everything but she don't want to take revenge on him because director told her not to..
her jerk father is forgiven because he provided semen for her birth.......
grandfather is forgiven because he isn't worth taking revenge on.....
i don't think FL improved her situation at all, from one abuser to another(ML) it just a transfer of slave in which slave think she WIN
its hard to link to this main leads because the are having everything too easy in there story
struggle is what makes viewers connect to characters
i started this show just to watch Sung Hoon playing male lead here but his acting is so flat much lower then what he showed in five enough and Woori

Might include spoiler
I really love the chemistry between FL and ML, it's so overwhelming. Sitting beside each other and just talking casually is already thrilling what more when they are looking at each other eyes.In the beginning, I feel devastated how everyone around her is acting normally behind their devil intention towards her, her so called husband, the acting supportive sister (during the preparation of her wedding), and that ever evil adopted mother. On the other hand, she shows nothing but pure kindness and warm smile to everyone. But, after that "time travel" and her revenge started, just wow, the warm kind hearted woman turned into someone that you're probably regret once you messed up with. And she found a right and perfect knight who will stay at her side and will protect her at all cost.
I just loving this revenge drama more and more 💜 Kudos to all cast!
