SO IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAMA ❤✨
I never thought I would love this drama so much even after watching so many dramas I come back to LOTDT 🥹I guess I will never be able to move on from the drama. The storyline the acting the actors cinematography the direction everything was beyond anything I loved loved loved this drama already watched countless times 🥹🥹I recommend this drama to everyone this is literally a MASTERPIECE. I am speechless I can't describe my emotions😭😭Deng Wei he became my fav after this drama and female lead I loved her so much 😍🥰😘Was this review helpful to you?
However, the pacing is uneven at times, with some scenes feeling slow or stretched out. I also wish these dramas could be a tiny bit shorter to keep the story tighter. Despite this, the emotional moments and engaging romance make it an enjoyable watch.

From bad boy to predestined evil child to remorseful yet selfish good guy
Do you guys also feel like you've lived half of a lifetime after finishing a Xianxia? There's always so much happening over such a long time that I hardly remember certain details from the beginning when I reach the last quarter. I definitely felt that way with this one.So, here are my thoughts about this gem~
The synopsis sounded quite good and when I started this one I just hoped that it wouldn't disappoint me. I was worried, because the introduction of the FL felt weird. Weird as in "not likeable". But thank god, it didn't turn out like that at all. She was actually likeable, even more so her reincarnation, while I liked the ML right from the beginning. Esp. his hair, lol. Man, I was overwhelmed when it turned white the first time (I'm getting weak over white hair these days... they manage to make it look amazing in these newer Xianxias).
But for real, I enjoyed the character's development alot. Starting from bad boy to predestined evil child to remorseful yet selfish good guy. The actor performed that transition quite impressively, and every time a turning point occured, I got goosebumps because he delivered so well.
As for the main actress, it's funny... or let's say astonishing how well she managed to display two somewhat different characters despite having the same facial expressions. As I already said I liked the reincarnated disciple version even more than the master's one. And I totally enjoyed the reversed roles between ML and FL.
Though this one got 40 episodes, I got fully rewarded with lots of sweet and fun and exciting interactions between the main couple, lots of adventures they experience, lots of lovely sceneries, impressive fighting scenes, stunning CGI, beautiful costumes and interesting (though quite long) side stories of the supporting cast. I was especially impressed with the Crown Prince's story and development. Having just watched the actor in "Feud", he now demonstrated such a complex character and showed even more what he's capable of than in "Feud". I wouldn't mind seeing him as a ML in another Xianxia.
I'm also glad that they didn't make the sects' elders as annoying as I've seen it in other shows.
The music seems to be the only "complaint" if I would even call it that. It was so so, nothing you would call long lasting.
Nevertheless I can highly recommend this Xianxia to anyone who looks for something with many episodes, a bunch of likeable characters, long-lasting character development, a fun couple, really good acting and well made cinematography.

Exceeds Expectations
First time writing a review before finishing a show. I will hopefully remember to come back and update this once I've finished it. But I had left the below in the comment section and someone requested I add it to the review section. The star scores are NOT my final thoughts I just had to put something to submit the review...They will most likely change later on.Okay, so I've given the show a shot, and am pleasantly surprised. I had mentioned the other day in the comments that this genre wasn't really my favorite for various reasons, but I've finished episode 5 and so far none of my major issues with XianXia(shout out to Nina for helping me understand the different genres) productions has come up.
The color grading is natural and people have individual skin tones that don't look overblown(whitewashed by lighting/post production editing). The sets are mostly practical and feel grounded in a real world rather than a floating space rock in rainbow nothingness. The skies have depth and texture to them; properly conveying tension within action scenes. They also utilize atmosphere(light smoke to give depth within a camera. Trust that without it shots feel "off".)
The make-up isn't too over the top for the main leads & the hair is dynamic and changes from time to time.
There was a lot of exposition to get through in that first episode but they kept it interesting. Their use of montage to show her growing up in the village was top tier. The animation to live-action intro was interesting and well done.
The cinematography is thoughtful, but not overdone. Sometimes this genre has very over exaggerated zoom ins on characters as they squint at something. This one doesn't do that. Because they are using the same studio that everyone and their mother uses I can say with certainty that the set dressers have done amazing work. The places feel lived in and cared for. There are no large empty rooms that cheapen the look. There is practical use of sunlight for a lot of scenes, so snaps for that. They are following action film rules which is nice. Pretty much, when they cut from one shot to another during a fight, the action is taking place in the same point within the frame and not jumping around. They linger on expressions/moments to convey internal emotions. The camera angles make moments feel intimate instead of making it feel like two actors on a large set.
Overall I'm enjoying the show. The production has done an amazing job grounding the fantastical elements with real world objects and practical effects. The visual effects aren't the very best I've ever seen, but for a tv show...they are some of the best.
I think I'll continue watching.

cliche “sunshine vs grump” but with enough plot creativity that it works.
Julia Xiang & Deng Wei did soooo phenomenally in their roles. Their chemistry was believable, their angst and love just the thing for the soul. Credit to the actors for delivering but also credit to the directors and the show for such a cute pairing. Su Yi Shui and Mu Qing Ge/Xue Ran Ran are just perfectly balanced in their personalities and qualities. It leans on the cliche “sunshine vs grump” but I think there’s enough creativity with other aspects that it works. Mu Qing Ge is seen as “frivolous” and “lazy”, but she’s good hearted. Su Yi Shui is “cold” but he was abused so it’s not surprising. It’s actually also really nice that he isn’t “cold” once Mu Qing Ge dies – he is just *indifferent* because of the Ice lotus, but is clearly soft for Xue Ran Ran basically instantly. Deng Wei truly makes an excellent Su Yi Shui. I was obsessed with the way he mastered being serious but clearly in love with all the micro-body language.I also liked that there was Qiu Xi Er and the other two disciples. I think the friendship and loyalty and banter really played well. It added a “levity” to the show that really makes the show just so fun to watch.
Wei Jiu and Tu Jiu Yuan’s relationship was also super fun to watch. I LOVE when the *secondary* romances feel like they could be their own show. Not only that, but Wei Jiu’s character arc was as good as Su Yi Shui’s.
My three pretty minor complaints:
- Mu Ran Wu was pathetic truly – she hates her sister because her sister has everything but IDK if it’s because I’m the eldest child, I wanted to actually throw her bratty self off a cliff. Her actions do set most of the story in motion though.
- Su Yu was also pretty annoying and the only reason he’s less annoying than Mu Ran Wu is his final redemption. I wish he wasn’t a *sleazy* second love interest and really did have fully pure intentions, but I totally get the direction the show chose.
- It seems to be a truth universally acknowledge if the show starts with one main lead character having amnesia, the other will certainly also experience memory loss for at least an episode or three (especially if they are happily together but there are still 5+ episodes left in the show). I don’t hold this against them entirely, as it was well done enough, but I would have preferred if they skipped the amnesia part.

One of Favorite Watch This Year!!
There are very few shows that I get enamored with, this was one such show! While focusing on the Master-Disciple dynamics between the lead protagonists, the show goes through various twists and turns- our female lead sacrifices herself to save the male lead, he sacrifices one half of his Golden core to resurrect, she is reincarnated albeit without her past memories, the bickering couple go through heaven & hell to send the blasted Spirit Spring back to netherworld, only for the male lead to lose his memories. Are you feeling dizzy yet? There were quite a few moments when I questioned their sanity, I mean who could remain sane after going through so many struggles. And in the end, it led me to the answer- they survived because Mu Qingqe refused to give up on Su Yi Shui. She stood by him despite losing her memories and powers, trusted him, believed in him when no one else, she was his savior and better half!

A wonderful fairy tale full of magic, love and revival❤️?
"Our souls are still reviving, and those we love are associated with us so that we can always find ourselves. We are connected, you and I, in this life and in the next. Wherever you want to follow, I will follow you" (" "Elizabeth Lim).I admit to see this drama tempted me because I liked Julie Xiang for "Love in time" and I wanted to see her in a costume. I had a rather skeptical approach to the men's main part:
Deng Wei discouraged me after the drama Lost ..., Deng Kai pissed off his character in "Heart Broken", Chen somehow did not move me in "The Double". But I say I will take a chance, I will give up at most.
At the beginning I watched only for Julia and history. However, I appreciated the rest of the actors mentioned above.
#Julia Xiang fulfills her game well and I am impressed as an actress (she came to my top actresses before 30 next to zhou ye and li landi) .I like how he breaks the role of Qingge and wounds (both of these characters go to my top female cloth heroines CDRAM next to the character of zhou ye in back ... and Shen Li).
There is a really good actress with great potential and she is really very pretty.
#Deng Wei -an actor who came to me with the role of shui from the role of shui. I used to him with a huge reserve after the role of #mamalygi in "Lost You Forever". My type, but as this bad and demonic is б (I'm talking about styling).
Next to Kenny Lina, the Deng is created for the role of immortal deities.
He has chemistry from Julia, although it seems to me that she had more with a partner from Love in Time than with Wei.
#Deng Kai - Kinder Kinder surprises. This is my second drama with this actor and I have to admit that at the beginning I mentioned I had an injury to him. Sometimes I appreciated his talent. Chlop plays the sovereign of the bad sect As he behaves 🤣amiast, he does not like himA banana on the face as you see.#Chenxinhai -the game of the latter -the regent of the regent obsessively in love with the main and in power. At the beginning such a sheep, but it turns out that it is a wolf in sheep's skin 😉 would not play correctly, but it does not cause me much emotion 🤣
The plus is the soundtrack, computer effects-all this makes us feel like in a fairy tale, full of magic 🧝🧚
For me, this drama may not beat Shen Li, but it will go to the top next to Love Between Fairy and Devil etc.- beautiful fairy tales about love ❤️.
I encourage you to immerse yourself in a world full of magic, love, immortal (and those right and those who only pretend to be such 😉).
For me, the biggest surprise 1 and one of the best Wuxi I saw (the creators did a great job here 👏) and I am inclined to grade 9❤️ .

Love of the divine tree começou muito empolgante e intrigante pra mim.
