One of the best-written series I've watched!
At first glance, this drama might seem to have all the typical tropes—master-disciple relationship, a demon male lead, reincarnation, amnesia, hidden identity—but don’t let that discourage you! Let me break down why this series is worth watching. In their first life, the female lead, Mu Qing Ge (MQG), is a highly respected cultivator, but her immense power makes others fear and label her as a demon. Meanwhile, the male lead, Su Yi Shui (SYS), is a rebellious demon child with a powerful spirit waiting to possess him. Wanting to help him, MQG tricks SYS into becoming her disciple. Over time, they develop mutual respect, and SYS falls in love with his master. However, MQG ultimately sacrifices herself to seal the spirit within SYS, only to be betrayed and killed.
In his grief, SYS does everything to bring MQG back to life. She is reincarnated as Xue Ran Ran (XRR), and just as MQG once forced him to become her disciple, SYS now forces XRR to become her master to break the curse she left on him. This marks the beginning of their new journey.
What I love about this series is how well-paced and well-constructed it is. Master-disciple relationships are often portrayed as problematic, but here, the dynamic works because of the role reversal—MQG dies, reincarnates, and then becomes SYS’s disciple. This fresh take makes the romance more acceptable and even entertaining.
Another strong point is that the drama doesn’t rely on frustrating misunderstandings. XRR’s true identity as MQG isn’t kept as some huge secret—many characters already know it from the start. The amnesia plot is also well-handled. Instead of dragging on, it serves a purpose: since SYS loses his current memories and only remembers his past, he reverts to his younger, more reckless self. This allows us to see both leads in their youthful versions, adding depth to their relationship.
One of the best aspects of the show is how it handles the reincarnation trope. Often, in reincarnation dramas, the surviving character falls for the "new" version of their lost love, making us question whether they truly loved the original person. But here, it’s clear—XRR eventually regains all her memories and merges both versions of herself, and SYS loves her completely, as both XRR and MQG.
Now, onto the performances. While there aren't many heavily emotional scenes, the action sequences are well-done, and the chemistry between Deng Wei and Julia Xiang is impressive. Despite their seven-year age gap, their interactions feel natural, and the romance is well-executed (even the kiss scenes were surprisingly good!). Julia Xiang, in particular, stood out with her fight scenes—they were some of the most satisfying moments in the series.
Visually, this drama doesn’t feel low-budget at all. The special effects were well-executed, especially in the final episode, which was beautifully done. The soundtrack was good, though not particularly memorable for me.
As for the ending—it was both satisfying and well-deserved. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a drama wrap up in such a fulfilling way. Definitely worth rewatching!

How to NOT tell a story
you can do a lot in 40 eps...there are many reasons why i didn't like this drama, first of all the writing was sooooo lazy i was actually so sick and tired towards the end.
The reason why is because the dialogue was not written with care at all. It felt so unnatural in my head no body speaks like that. first of all every piece of dialogue is so painfully predictable i knew exactly what they were going to say and to add on to that, the characters never really TALKED to each other all they did was speak in a series of monologues and the same ones at that.
For example the same motivational speech that the FL did every single time like "i don't believe in fate" she said that so many times i couldn't count.
The reason why dialogue is so important is that it builds the foundation of every relationship, and with bad dialogue these relationships felt so shallow, every time they spoke i thought of a way in which they could've done it better.
something this so really lacked was the character depth and development, mainly with the female lead. There were so many missed opportunities. first the relationship between her and her sister was so underdeveloped to the point were i even forgot they were siblings, they could've really tapped into the angst that had been created from betrayal and jealousy. instead we only say mu ranwu's perspective on all of it she was always the center of that relationship's conflict, because she was creating most of it.
alternatively xue ran ran could've gotten mad at her and actually confronted her sister for once so that the relation between then had some resolve.
another missed opportunity that would've given xue ran ran some depth is the identity crisis that she faced from having two life times, they came close when she said "who am I" but it ended there. if they delved in to how lost she would feel doubting herself and her final resolve would've been so impactful considering how repetitive her character was these editions that i just mentioned would've really increased the quality of her character and made her less one dimensional.
moving on
the story writing made me actually angry. the thing is i could tell that they did not spend any time building the world at all . i got whiplash every time the characters would randomly mention some talisman or some spell that did this and that. there was SO MUCH exposition dumping, they violated the main storytelling rule "show, not tell", and all the writers were doing was telling, because tell me why xue ran ran knew EVERYTHING abt everything and was always explaining everything. the reason this makes me mad is the lack of respect for the audience to think about literally anything. I felt like a toddler being told every little unnecessary detail about everything. there are so may different more creative ways to convey information important to the plot without compromising the quality of your writing for example instead of telling me what the talisman does it could've been shown in a flash back of someone using it incorrectly for the comedic effect or for a more serious approach it could've been shown in one of the characters memories while they were copying scriptures or something . anyhow I'm just trying to say is that it was a case of poor execution.
the thing were xue ran ran was constantly talking to herself was also killing it for me.
another thing i didn't like was the run time, this drama was TOO long as in it should've ended after they sealed the spirit spring , because tell me why there was a amnesia arc right after, that just made me so upset its like moving backwards within the story.
anyways if i wrote everything that bothered me i would be here all day so let me stop being a hater and say the things i liked.
i liked the visuals , all the costuming and the landscapes really kept me going they were all pleasing to the eyes.
i also enjoyed some of the action scenes they were done creatively at times like when they fought with swords i enjoyed that the most. when they overuse spiritual energy it kind of takes me out of it a bit because why is there a sword if your not gonna use it?
anyways even though i thought it was bad it was still captivating and addicting to watch if it wasn't i wouldn't have lasted the whole show this meant that the director knew what they were doing when it came to that aspect.
another positive is the ML's character development and depth, in alternative to the FL i feel like they spent more time fleshing out his character and really invested in him. you as the audience could feel his distraught and hurt throughout the drama and his guilt and desperation too which shows the great capabilities of the actor too.
anyways that's all i can tell allot of people liked this drama and honestly if that's you I'm glad you liked it this is just my rant into the MDL void.

Stop your lover from becoming a demon in the future! needed to be 32 episodes.
On my list of dramas i've seen, this one would be great if there were fewer episodes and less abrupt arcs for the supporting characters. The plot is similar to Til the End of the Moon, except ML isn't a sadist. I'm glad to see Ding wei again! (Anyone remember him as Tushan Jing in Losing You Forever?
I also like FL actor Julia Xiang, even though she played a rather lackluster reincarnationist character most of the time in the show.
Episode 24 Middle Update: I'm hoping that the FL sister's storyline develops beyond just being an evil sister.
Prince Suyin arc of becoming crazy and power-hungry feels rushed, even though he had an inferiority complex to begin with. The feeling of anxiety between the FL and ML lasts for a long time. She finally realizes that she is the true master.
I think there were several episodes where I saw her saying the same thing to ML over and over again. Like “You've been miserable all your life, do something for yourself, why don't you admit you love me?” But she says that in almost every episode. You'll see why it's gotten so repetitive.

Never Ending Amnesia Trope
I checked out this drama, first because of the high ratings and second, saw clips that this would have a HE.It started interesting for me, not until the amnesia tropes began. Given the rebirth that happened for the FL, I would completely understand the loss of memory in the beginning. That process was kinda stretched out too long for me, though partly, it is where the romance have to develop. Mid way, that part was kinda resolved. Romance was kinda developed then, another amnesia arc happened. It was the ML this time. So, FL have to work her way to recover ML's memory which took another long process. Then led to another amnesia trope towards the finale for ML. Like, WTH?!!! 40 eps has been stretched for a never ending arc of amnesia. Their troubles seem endless too. Like, they even have to resolve the troubles of the side characters. I just find it too tiring to watch a never ending series of obstacles along the MC's way. Not even a time for sweet moments together. Like, the kisses just happened in around 4 eps. I think and very short ones. 2 of them I believe was either of them was drunk that it would have to happen.
Because everything was stretched too long, I have to forward most scenes. I wasn't even excited about the wedding because I got tired of watching all their never ending battles and fight scenes. Even my most anticipated sweet intimate time they would have on the wedding night was just totally cut off. Like what?!!!
The cast did great in terms of acting. Specially the FL. I've seen Deng Wei in several dramas but I got to remember him on Lost You Forever S1 and S2. He honestly reminds me of Xiao Zhan. They kinda resemble. And they are both conservative in terms of kisses and doing intimate scenes in their dramas. Like, they avoid them. Not really a fan of both actors. As for Julia Xiang, I just noticed she was the FL in Forever Lover with Wang An Yu, which was a good drama I must say. She still did great here. I honestly like her character. But, I think I like her better as Xu RanRan than Mu Qingge. Xu RanRan is bolder than Mu that I like better. I'm not a fan of ML's character. Yes, he was devoted to our beloved FL but his character was so over the top, like he keeps on being infected of the evil aura that loses himself most of the time. That arc was kinda looping and gets tiring already.
The finale was cute. But, I would still prefer if they had more intimate moments together. Most of the episodes were wasted in battles. As for the side characters, I know Su Yu was supposedly a villain character, but, I was hoping he was still given a character development and could have been better to have a HE with Fei Hua. Dun Tian/ Ye Xin's character was also stretched too long. they could have ended his issues at least in the 38th ep. So the last 2 eps could have focused on romance for the MC and even the side characters. Yes, this was too slow burn. I'm a fan of fire and passion romance, so, I guess, this was just too cutesie for me. Not my cup of tea. I find some moments funny with their injected humor. But the rest is just too tiring to watch.
Overall, if you're so into Xian xia and enjoys never ending battles of immortal power. This is for you. I wouldn't rewatch this long drama with minimal romance.

While watching this, I was expecting this to be a tragic one so I was so scared while watching it BUT it ended the way I didn't expect! The ending was SO SATISFYING and so are all of the scenes. You can see how their love develop episode after episode. You can relate to the show. Not like the Moonlight Mystique that the love was developed so fast that you can hardly see where it started or how since the scenes didn't clearly showed it.While watching love of the divine tree, the questions in your head while watching it will be answered because the scenes are so clear and organized. The characters there are really smart unlike other characters in other dramas. Every scene was satisfying! Moreover you can see the way Deng Wei act and see how good he is. You can see the changes of emotions in his eyes. The way he delivered each linesss. The Female lead was also good, she's nee to my eyes and her acting was really satisfying too. Deng Wei and the female lead really has a chemistry. Waiting for moreee dramas of Deng Wei! Deng Wei really needs a recognition for it. He deserves to be recognized because he really is so good with actingg and is also good looking!

story is new and refersing
"I saw only a reel and decided to give it a try, but I didn’t expect it to be this good! It deserves more recognition. The plot and cinematography in the series are amazing. The acting and chemistry between the male lead (ML) and female lead (FL) are awesome. It’s their first drama, but they did a great job!"Was this review helpful to you?
Xianxia Romance Drama
I'm honestly an obsessed person when it comes to Xianxia dramas. This drama is what I would die for just to watch it again. At first, I was kind of hesitant to start watching dramas again since I get stuck into my own world. ALSO, I was scared that I would drop this since I was not familiar with the actress work. HOWEVER, this drama is just so cute and the plot just keeps flowing. There wasn't even one episode that I have skipped. The actors and actress played the characters so well that I'm happy I got the courage to watch it. The chemistry between the main leads is SO FREAKING CUTE! Every episode, I'm just constantly smiling and blushing whenever they are together. I am kind of upset though because I don't really see this drama trending much in the media or I guess I'm just not getting this drama on my feed. So to everyone who is reading this, you should DEFINITELY go watch it! IT WILL BE WORTH YOUR TIME!!!Was this review helpful to you?

Huge disappointment.
first half of the story is fine to watch, the FL actress did a stellar job of playing two distinct people. CGI is very nice for this kind of drama.ML is very stiff and I have seen other people be happy with his acting but to me he was extremely bland and didn't emote much. to be honest he could be replaced by any other actor and it wouldn't make a difference. FL is something else, very well acted.
there's a charming cast of side characters that are very enjoyable to watch. it starts very interesting with the grey ML and wild and free FL. the resurrection is done so well.
but then in the middle we hit the amnesia arc and it's as if they fired all the writing staff and had chatgpt write the rest. it makes no sense and becomes so annoying. like during the amnesia for 5 straight episodes the ML keeps belittling the FL, her only value is that she cooks for him like a servant and he keeps causing her of being a slut to boot. guess it's the new romantic standard. but the worst is how they completely flattened his character. they gave him traits he never had before eg wanting to show off luxury and wealth. He used to be very smart and scheming, now he is an absolute idiot incapable of any good planning just because he forgot his love? and the plot literally makes no sense anymore.
To the point where one character is pregnant, which is a very important plot... and then they forget she was pregnant for the rest of the story.
besides they made all the evil characters so boring, simply greedy and whiny as a viewer you really don't care to listen to their stories, and none of them face any consequences of their actions, which makes the story very unsatisfying.
what however completely killed this story for me was the fact the main couple, after all the scheming, planning, multiple lives- could do anything to the real bad guy and it had to be the Heavens that killed him.
so what was this story even for???
I started this series expecting a solid 8/10 out of it, from the amnesia arc I rated it 1/10.
there's no fight choreography just those really funny series of still shots in different poses.
What I did appreciate was their use of magic. they used it for everything and it made for a great immersion in the magical world.
considering the good beginning and potential, ultimately I gave it 4,5, because the second half is really only watchable on fast forward.
I will absolutely never rewatch it, there is no rewatch value for this because of the lousy writing.

a must watch !!
what can I say, everything about this movie is perfect, the story, the plot, it doesn't have that typical cdrama boring long dialog, the ml an fl deliver the character so well, even the villain-looking support role has some twist to the plot. Should have a higher rating I suppose.Definitely a must watch !!

Filler fatigue
It started out strong but gradually lost momentum until it completely flatlined. The opening had promise, but as the episodes went on, it felt like I was wading through filler after filler.
Watching began to feel more like an obligation than enjoyment, and I often found myself fast-forwarding through scenes that lacked substance. By the time I reached the final minutes, it was more a sense of relief than satisfaction.
