my fav drama of 2025!
for Me personally this drama is my fav for this yr I love love this drama the CGI, the music, and the acting almost evth is perfect. I love that the actors and actresses can give off many different feelings for the viewers. Tbh there are only a few xianxia drama that has happy endings most of them r sad endings or open endings. I waited this drama for almost 2 yrs and it was definitely worth it. the only thing I was a bit upset was the wedding scene. no hate but iykyk. i rly wish the two main leads can work tgt again(modern or historical it's ok)Now I am a big,big fan of julia xiang. I hope she can be more successful (also waiting for her upcoming drama calming waves) She's so fine and a goddess as mu chingge. I love their chemistry. i recommend to those who haven't watch it yet. It is worth your time. IT'S ONE OF MY FAV DRAMAS OF ALL TIME FROM NOW ON!!!Was this review helpful to you?

My 2025 Favorite: The True Meaning of Home.
I had honestly lost hope in finding a drama I’d actually love—
until I stumbled on this masterpiece.
This show, for me, is the full package. The story, cinematography, direction, acting, music—everything was on point.
And the relationship between the leads? Absolutely beautiful. No toxic nonsense, no forced sad drama just for the sake of it. Just pure, heartfelt storytelling.
1. The Story
It’s fresh and different, which is rare in this genre. It’s so well written—no boring arcs or unnecessary drama. The emotions hit hard. I felt like my heart couldn’t take any more at times.
The female lead literally taught the male lead what warmth and “home” really mean. She stood up to the whole world for him, and always managed to balance her mission with what mattered most to her—him.
The Female Lead:
Whether in her first life or her second, I never felt annoyed by her character. She’s truly smart, strong, and independent—but still a girl who loves, who messes up, who laughs and cries. She takes responsibility, but her lighthearted, playful spirit made the whole drama feel warm.
Her love was beautiful and pure. She was both the perfect lover and the perfect teacher.
The Male Lead:
Totally my type. I loved his mood swings, loved how overly protective he was, and adored how naturally his character grew—from a rebellious student to a strict, wise teacher. It all flowed so smoothly, never felt off or forced.
I loved how much he cared for the people around him, his sacrifices, his regrets, his tears, and his smile.
Deng Wei absolutely killed it here. Genius-level performance. He made me feel every single emotion his character went through. It didn’t feel like acting—it felt real.
The Music:
The songs always hit at the right moments.
Though, I’ll admit, sometimes they got in the way when I was trying to read the subtitles.
The Downsides:
The pacing at the start could’ve been better. They could’ve spread the male lead’s flashbacks across more episodes.
The whole memory loss thing? Yeah… totally unnecessary.
The side characters were badly acted. Plus, way too many pointless ones that added nothing to the story.

Love So Divine
I finished this in 11 days. When I watched the first episode, I wasn’t really expecting a lot from it. I had to watch it because when I first saw the first trailer last year, I got so excited. It looked really promising. Plus, Deng Wei was the ML. Tbh, I did not like him in Lost You Forever even though he was the endgame there. I did like him in Miss the Dragon, though. That’s where I saw him first. Anyway, I just finished watching Moonlight Mystique and that show really made me feel empty because I just loved it so much. So glad I watched this show. I enjoyed the whole thing, from beginning to the end. It got me engaged. I’m so sad it’s over. Ugh. I love reincarnation stories. The storyline of the reincarnated FL, Mu Qingge, who was called a demoness in the past life, a sovereign from Wester sect, was now reborn as Xue Ranran. She was born along with a little plant named Ling Xiao who always protected her. Ranran meets her disciple, Su Yushui, now the sovereign of Wester sect, who has a half mask on due to the scars he got from a curse given by Qingge before she passed away. Using half of his golden core, he used it for the reincarnation tree he obtained from heaven. I just love everything about the show. The two actors had so much chemistry. First time watching Julia Xiang here, and she was amazing! So cute and funny. Deng Wei was awesome here as well. He did not disappoint! Lots of blood spitting as usual. The kissing scenes were alright. Music was heart gripping. The CG effects were great. I enjoyed the part where Ranran uses the soul controlling technique to become a small plant puppet. The actor who played Su Yu was great as a villain here. I remember he played a boring character in The Double. I saw his acting skills here. Everyone else did a great job. As for the sister, Ranwu, OMG. I don’t know what to feel for her character. Let’s just say I feel sorry for her. It’s just sad that she didn’t end up apologizing for what she did. She was pure evil. I hated her guts. This was truly a wonderful show. It has a happy ending. It definitely didn’t kill off characters you loved. I recommend it second to Moonlight Mystique. 5/5 for me.Was this review helpful to you?

Just Absolute Cinema
I’m going to keep this short so people who are hesitant to watch this can just read this review. First of all, the plot is so well thought of. From the beginning to the end, it will keep you hooked and will genuinely make you want to pull an all nighter to see what’s next. Second, the love between the leads needed to be studied. They would go through hell and back for each other and is willing to sacrifice their entire life if they had too. If you like aloof characters who are secretly the best man ever, you need to watch this. The female lead is also very vocal, strong and honest. Her cuteness is not exaggerated but makes you happy when you see her smile. Acting by everyone was good, none of them made me cringe and I’m thankful for that. Overall, the best master/disciple story I’ve watched and will definitely rewatch it again. 10/10 peak romance. Was this review helpful to you?
story is new and refersing
"I saw only a reel and decided to give it a try, but I didn’t expect it to be this good! It deserves more recognition. The plot and cinematography in the series are amazing. The acting and chemistry between the male lead (ML) and female lead (FL) are awesome. It’s their first drama, but they did a great job!"Was this review helpful to you?

Xianxia Romance Drama
I'm honestly an obsessed person when it comes to Xianxia dramas. This drama is what I would die for just to watch it again. At first, I was kind of hesitant to start watching dramas again since I get stuck into my own world. ALSO, I was scared that I would drop this since I was not familiar with the actress work. HOWEVER, this drama is just so cute and the plot just keeps flowing. There wasn't even one episode that I have skipped. The actors and actress played the characters so well that I'm happy I got the courage to watch it. The chemistry between the main leads is SO FREAKING CUTE! Every episode, I'm just constantly smiling and blushing whenever they are together. I am kind of upset though because I don't really see this drama trending much in the media or I guess I'm just not getting this drama on my feed. So to everyone who is reading this, you should DEFINITELY go watch it! IT WILL BE WORTH YOUR TIME!!!Was this review helpful to you?

A Blossoming Tale of Love, Loss, and Legacy
One of the longest dramas I’ve ever watched but also one of the most entertaining, complex, and character driven stories I’ve seen in a long time. On top of that, the OST is absolutely captivating and fits the tone of the show perfectly. My only critique is that the last 20–30 minutes of the finale felt a bit unnecessary. I get the need to tie up loose ends, but sometimes a little ambiguity leaves a stronger impact. Then again, I tend to feel this way about most show endings I watch.
Aside from that, the show is phenomenal. I genuinely hope these two leads work together again they had such incredible on-screen chemistry and am rooting for them in their careers.
Lastly, as someone who recently read Pride and Prejudice, I’d describe this drama as “A fantastical Ancient Chinese tale where Pride & Prejudice meets Shadow & Bone.” I hope this helps lead you into watching this show!!! 🤍❤️
Tip: do not watch this show on YouTube, I did the mistake of watching the first 2 episodes there before I found other platforms to see it properly, and I noticed till after I had see it that on YouTube that it’s not in order and it omits large portions of the story that are crucial. Happy Streaming!

a must watch !!
what can I say, everything about this movie is perfect, the story, the plot, it doesn't have that typical cdrama boring long dialog, the ml an fl deliver the character so well, even the villain-looking support role has some twist to the plot. Should have a higher rating I suppose.Definitely a must watch !!

I'm glad I decided to watch this
Only thing I didn't like was memory loss it just doesn't hits with me.

XianXia With Refreshing Elements: Love Rooted Through Two Lives!
It was such a captivating drama that I literally binged the whole drama. It was a pleasant watch overall!PLOT
It follows typical XianXia tropes but with refreshing twists. It's the first time I had seen a C-drama pull out an Uno reverse card on master-student dynamic, but it really made the story more enjoyable. However, the plot twist is predictable. It was so blatantly obvious I figured it out in the early episodes. The double amnesia trope is really irritating! And the endgame was really underwhelming (due to lack of viewer/reader emotional connection with the villain and poor acting skills of the cast). The plot definitely has some loose points, but it serves just satisfactorily overall.
ACTING
Only Deng Wei truly understood his character and portrayed it excellently. Julia Xiang's acting is just okay. It feels like in some scenes, she didn't know what expression to express (which makes me believe she didn't really have a deep understanding of her character). When both of them are acting in one scene, her lack of skills makes it more obvious. Her acting is amateur, while Deng Wei's acting skills seem more polished. Of course, both of them still have a lot of room for improvement and have the potential. However, supporting actors barely tried, and it sort of ruined the quality of the drama. Especially Zhang Wei Na has a long way to go. Wishing the best for the whole cast!
CONCLUSION
Despite the flaws, it is an enjoyable good drama. Don't hesitate; give it a watch!

Excellent in the hygiene factors but a little light on the emotions
Lovely costume, beautiful cinematography, interesting cast and a rising male lead. The lead here was Deng Wei who hailed from Lost You Forever as TuShan Jing. The story centred around the romance of Mu QingGe and Su YiShui. She was a priestess/spiritual seeker and was 'killed' trying to save YiShui who was the Demon Child. An entire conspiracy surrounded him trying to push him to demonise. QingGe on the other hand was trying to save him from this fate. YiShui went on to resurrect her through the Divine Tree by sacrificing half of his spiritual core.
QingGe returned with memory loss of her previous life. Later in the drama , YiShui also lost his memory because of a manipulation by a powerful but evil deity. Love couples taking turns to lose their memory and therefore turned against each other is not something new or creative in dramas. But this drama had its other creative development through a hidden conspiracy. The drama would take viewers down the path of uncovering this.
Overall, the story was interesting. The female lead was good at acting the part of a lively Mu QingGe. However, when it came to the emotional parts, it was a bit lacking. When the lead couples were confessing their feelings for each other, it felt like they were merely reciting a memorised script. To be fair, very few actors or actresses were able to transcend this well.
As this was a fantasy fairy-tale drama, the screenwriter had the creative liberty of creating heavenly or spiritual rules and then created another that allowed those rules be broken. Similarly they could create a crisis or problem and then create a solution that solved it. Just as in this drama, deities or gods in heaven were not supposed to cross the the mortal realms but suddenly they were able to because certain conditions were created for them to do it. And these happened a lot in this drama to the extent that they became unconvincing. When something nasty happened, I expected a solution would pop up conveniently and often I was right.
I am usually generous with my ratings which were usually higher than that on Mydramalist. My rating of 8.5 is for dramas I believe are very good but not among the top league. Against a rating of 8.6 on Mydramalist, it implied that I think the rating of 8.6 on Mydramalist was over rated. I expect the rating on Mydramalist to come down over time as the initial enthusiasm cools.
Regardless, this was an entertaining drama if you are looking for something to spend your leisure.
