Subpar, illogical, and childish plot, which is very common in manhwa

The show relies entirely on a tired, cliché storyline disguised as a "secret agent dad" trope, dragging out a painfully predictable plot across its episodes. The pacing is a total snooze, relying on low-stakes tension with an outcome that will leave you wanting to fall asleep instead of watching. Why do they keep inserting unfunny comedic relief into a serious story dealing with school bullying? Also the author is reportedly a member of일베 Ilbe , a controversial South Korean online community associated with far-right politics and offensive content.

For the love a child. I Am Become Death........

SJS is a master class actor~
Currently 4 eps in and decided to put out feelers ahead of time for ppl to watch. It is DAM good~

Dr Lawyer was rough watch but was followed up with Mercy For None which felt like a return to old.
This has similar feel but harder tugs on the heart~

Master spy turned into a office job parent, gangsta thug turned into a successful CEO parent and it's clash of their kids that pulls them back into their previous lines of work.
For does not the love invested with your children give incredible strength and resilience to do wonderful AND horrible things? That's the story here being told from two fathers with similar yet different rhetorics on the making~
2 left. Phenomenal piece. Old school SJS. Vengeance and beat downs. Non stop action. Twas like watching Rambo, Commando, American Ninja etc.......they tried something new with a triple side by side by top 1v1 displays in episode 6 with cameras on both fighters and shadow cams that was meant to mimic and match the movements of the fighters in ep6. Nice concept, failed execution. The shadows were awful and jerky and never in sync. That was my only gripe about this drama. I loved everything else, especially the emotional reunions in some scenes. The action is still good and it's been all about the kids for me too as a father as well.
It's definitely worthy of a watch and a rewatch eventually. Great drama to look at when your bored of the rom coms~

Dissapointed

I am probably in the minority, but I just don't like this show. I couldn't wait for this show to release on Netflix. I loved So Ji-sub in Mercy for None and Oh, My Venus (started the Masters Sun but dropped it)

What I liked about the show- the acting and fight scenes.

What I didn't like- there was too much comedic relief for my taste. I think Yoon Kyung-ho is a phenomenal actor and would have preferred if his character was less silly and more serious. I was still interested after the first two episodes, but I had doubts. The story line was very good but there are way too many flashbacks. Yes, we want to know Agent Kim's past but they way it is integrated into the show just frustrated me.

Dropping the show after the 4th episode

Agent Kim Reactivated is one of the more enjoyable Korean action-comedy dramas of 2026. The series balances family moments, humor, and espionage surprisingly well, and much of that success comes from So Ji-sub's performance.

One reason So Ji-sub feels perfectly cast is that he has played undercover and secret-agent-type roles before. He has the calm presence, experience, and natural charisma needed to make a veteran operative believable. He doesn't have to force the tough-guy image; it comes across effortlessly. At the same time, he gives Agent Kim enough warmth to make the family scenes work just as well as the action sequences.

My favorite part of the show was the relationship between Agent Kim and his daughter. Their interactions added emotional weight and prevented the series from becoming just another spy drama filled with gadgets and fights. The daughter was a genuinely likable character, and the family dynamic gave viewers something to care about beyond the missions.

I also enjoyed Agent Kim's friends and teammates. They brought a lot of personality and humor to the show, creating a sense of camaraderie that made the team feel believable. Their chemistry with So Ji-sub was one of the highlights throughout the series.

The only major issue I had was the portrayal of the spy agency chief. This is where I think the show lost about 1.5 points from what could have been a near-perfect score. Instead of feeling like the head of a modern intelligence organization, he looked and behaved like a cartoon character from an old American comic book. The long outdated coat, the decades-old cap, and the exaggerated mannerisms made him feel completely out of place compared to the otherwise grounded tone of the series. Every time he appeared, it felt like he had wandered in from a different genre.

Despite that flaw, Agent Kim Reactivated remains a highly entertaining watch. Strong performances, a likable cast, solid action, and heartfelt family moments make it easy to recommend. So Ji-sub once again proves why he is one of the best actors for these undercover-agent roles, carrying the show with confidence and charm.

Final Rating: 8.5/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½

it had it all! watch it!! :)

I really did enjoy age Kim reactivated! For me it was a bit of a slow start but there were so many good points. There was laughing, there was crying, there was found family moments with how friends all stuck together through it all!

I just think it was such a good K drama I haven’t actually watched these actors before, but I think I’ll be going back looking at their previous work as well!!

The storyline was really clever though, but can someone tell me what actually happened in the end? I’m presuming the construction evil guy died or to prison?

What was with the friend that he rang up and asked for a favour and then he said I’m not cheap.. It will cost you and he said I know and then at the end the job interview?? is it setting up for a possible season two if it’s successful???

I can’t decide how I feel about that I feel like maybe the characters work so well together I obviously want to see more of them, but I’m not sure whether they’ll be able to spin it off with the friend and agent Kim doing it again. I feel like it might get cheesy…? But obviously if they do a season two, I will watch it cheesy or not haha.

Overall, a great drama with a bit of everything in it and I would definitely recommend this drama.

Disappointing

Disappointing. For a show that’s supposed to be driven by revenge, the resolutions for both the main antagonist and his daughter felt seriously underwhelming. Yes, he loses his business, but we never see the fallout. He gets stabbed, yet we don’t get that moment of fear or realization that would make the payoff cathartic. His daughter runs away and is arrested, but once again there’s no real resolution.

What frustrates me most is that her father took a situation that could’ve been handled and completely spiralled it out of control. A scene showing how his attitude destroyed both their lives would’ve added so much weight. They’re monsters, I didn’t expect them to suddenly see the error of their ways but at least show us the consequences of their downfall. Let us feel their world collapsing.

Despite that, it was still a decent watch. I love an overpowered protagonist, and the dynamic between the three leads was genuinely great. I also wish the three children had more screen time, every one of them was fantastic.

cast is awesome

Best Action drama in a long time and love the added comedy. These 3 middle age guys just really pulled off the whole drama. And the fact that So Ji-sub is a hottie but chooses such a good role is a plus. But, I must say that Yoon Kyung-ho stole the whole drama so far and it would be crazy if he isn't up for some awards for his role.

MERCY FOR NONE PRO MAX

Popular plot, ahjussi retires from the military, becomes a husband, and lives a quiet disguised life, until the killing spree starts. Feels like Mercy for None part 2, same storyline just tweaked, with friends joining in this time. I really hope he lives this type of role alone and enter his villain role..

Kdramas really need to learn how to blend the KopiKo into the plot better, it’s been over a decade.

Am I still watching? Yes, but only for vibes. At least the cast is stacked with amazing actors!!

Vive Pa l stine

Dropping because it has anti pa l estine sentiment
couldn’t they keep the propaganda to only north korea and south korea? why involve a population that is already suffering so much. That’s so cruel and horrible did not expect this from them at all. My morality stops me from watching it further sorry i can’t ignore or act like it’s a different country

They used AI Generated scene

This series had me hooked the moment i saw So Ji Sub. And the plot looked really intriguing to me and it was like a Korean version of John Wick. And i really enjoyed the first episode. But as i was watching backstory scene of Manager Kim, the whole black and white scene looked off. The shots, environment and characters faces looked really off. Then I noticed that it was AI generated scene. And some people think it's not a big deal and don't care about it. But to me this matters a lot. it's just insulting to human's artistic side and skills. It takes lot of time and commitment for people to learn certain skills and knowledge and it's no different with people who works behind the scenes. Film director, art director, production designer, camera operator and so on. Even the Actor and actress. All of these talented people come together with years of knowledge and experience to create these incredible masterpieces. But then using generative AI is just like ripping out their entire work and producing soulless slop. I mean i understand why they did it. It will reduce the cost for the budget. But that doesn't make it justifiable. If it was used for only few shots, that would've been fine. But a whole damn multiple scene? It is unacceptable.

Best Series

idk why to say like when it started with ep1 I was like OMG!!! another epic series and I was worried if it might be boring. TRUST ME not a single ep was boring expect there were tiny bore bits but rest is absolute cinema!!!! The Story shows the friendship between men’s and relationships between father and their kids which is crazy! When I was left with a hanger at ep9 I was wondering how will they escape and finish it in one single ep left!! Well they finished this series with absolute perfection
