It's Not My Thing & That's Okay!

This is the first Thai GL series I've watched in AGES, which is why I'm disappointed that things turned out the way they did with this one. The premise is great but the execution falls flat. The first episode was incredible; it was exciting, it was entertaining, it made you want to come back for more and then the second episode happened. There was something that happened midway through that episode that gave me the biggest ick I've ever gotten while watching a series. It was sudden and unexpected but it happened.

There was a scene in the second episode where May "lost" Ai-oon and she was grasping at the physical space in front of her in an attempt to find her and there was this look on the actress's face that completely took me out of the scene. Her facial expressions, her body language, her vocal performance. It broke the immersion! I didn't feel like I was watching a drama anymore; it felt like I was watching an actress act out a role and that's never good. An actor's performance is supposed to make you forget that you're watching a drama. It should be that seamless, that effortless. They're supposed to disappear into their role and that's not what happened here. It quite literally gave me actress playing an emotion that doesn't quite fit. It was too over top and there was a LOT of overacting.

The actress playing Ai-oon, Namtan, was fine. I had no issues with her performance whatsoever. I felt like she captured the inner conflict of a woman struggling to find out what happened to her sister while falling for someone she shouldn't. There was a subtly to her performance that worked for her character. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for her counterpart, Film. This is the first series I've watched of both of them so this is my first exposure to both of them as actresses. Film's character, May, was already operating with a huge disadvantage. She was the epitome of a Mary Sue character. She was well-loved, successful, sympathetic, adored, and she had a tragic backstory to boot. May was very one-dimensional and flat as a character and I'm unsure if there was ever any dimension added because I didn't stick around to finish to see.

But anyway, her character was already at a disadvantage due to all those things and her performance didn't elevate that character in any way, shape, or form. Granted, everyone knows that you don't watch Thai GL (or BL) dramas for stellar acting performances. You watch for the queer love and pretty faces! However, I expected more and felt the audience deserved better from this story and we just didn't get that.

Sidenote: this story was also quite predictable. I immediately called May knowing that Ai-oon was pretending to be her sister but I don't know why. I don't know why she continued the charade knowing what she knew and that was the only reason I wanted to keep watching. I needed answers but my patience had run out and I couldn't be bothered anymore.

Honestly, I think this drama was the final nail in the coffin for me. I've struggled with watching most Thai GL dramas, which is why I don't watch as many of them as I could. I always end up dropping them for some reason or another, and this drama is no different. I just think this genre isn't for me, which sucks but I appreciate all sapphic love story attempts but life's too short to watch bad TV if I don't have to. What's even more unfortunate is that I think I probably would have been more receptive to all Thai GL dramas if they were as mass produced back when I initially started watching Thai BL dramas years ago. I think it's just a matter of being more exposed to different markets of Asian dramas so I'm simply more picky now.

Would I recommend this? Maybe? It depends on where you are in your Thai GL drama journey. If you're new to Thai GLs, then you may like it. If you're not new to any of these markets, then probably not. Would I rewatch this? No. Would I go back and finish this? Also, no.

I really liked namtan even before watching this series and it only made me like her more
And film, her character, may is very mysterious yet cute as hell!

Le GL de l'année 2024 ?

Probablement l'un des GL les plus attendus de l'année 2024 et il est au rendez-vous.

L'histoire commence très fort et plonge tout de suite le spectateur dans une intrigue prenante, mystérieuse, et incroyablement romantique/sensuelle. Tout est scénario est ensuite sublimé par une bande son aux paroles et aux musiques adaptées aux différentes.
En ce qui concerne l'acting, je pense qu'on ne peut qu'applaudir la prestation globale de l'intégralité du casting et plus particulièrement celles de Namtan et de Film. Entre l'alchimie, la passion et les différentes scènes de pleurs exécutée à la perfection, je pense qu'il n'y a plus rien à ajouter de plus !

Nantam e Film simplesmente deram um show de atuação. Pluto é uma obra com muitas camadas: desigualdade social, pessoas com deficiência, traumas familiares… É uma história humana, onde todos erram e, em algum ponto, são egoístas, e isso inevitavelmente machuca alguém.

A história de May e Aioon começa de uma forma torta. Aioon vai até May no lugar de sua irmã, Oaboum, para terminar o relacionamento. Porém, May, já sabendo de toda a verdade, recebe Aioon com um beijo. Foi nesse momento que Ai se apaixonou — de imediato, experimentando um amor forte, puro e genuíno, algo que sempre lhe faltou.

Ai estava apaixonada pela namorada da irmã e sabia que o que fazia era errado. May, por sua vez, escondia o tempo todo que sabia da verdade, enquanto Oaboum havia armado aquele encontro. Quando Oaboum desperta, Ai a entrega de volta para a irmã, mesmo que isso a destruísse por dentro, pois acreditava que May amava Oaboum e não queria ferir sua única irmã.

Mas Ai acaba cedendo ao sentimento e volta para May descobrindo toda verdade. E então Oaboum descobre toda a verdade e pede que a Ai ã escolha. Essa cena, em particular, me quebrou em incontáveis pedaços. Confesso que senti raiva quando Ai corre para acudir May, enquanto Oaboum desaba em dor e solidão. Para ela, foi a pior das traições: ver sua própria irmã se relacionando com sua namorada, além de perder o noivo no dia do casamento deles.

Quando Ai escolhe Oaboum, mostra que a irmã sempre foi sua prioridade, a pessoa por quem tinha amor genuíno. Ai que sempre se sacrificava: deixou de estudar, começou a trabalhar para ajudar Oaboum a seguir seus sonhos, mas ainda assim se sentia de lado. Achava-se uma decepção, acreditava que a irmã e a avó não a amavam, sentia-se constantemente comparada e nunca cuidada. Então, quando experimentou o amor de May, era impossível não se apaixonar — mesmo que isso fosse egoísta.

Oaboum também era cheia de traumas. Sentia-se incapaz, vivia sob comparações e era considerada problemática e difícil. Ambas carregavam cicatrizes da criação da avó. O incrível foi ver a forma como Oaboum começou a se curar. Durante um ano, recebeu amor e atenção da irmã, percebeu que Ai não estava bem desde que perdeu May e, finalmente, conseguiu superar a dor. Assim, escolheu abrir mão de May para que Ai pudesse viver aquele amor.

A cena da reconciliação entre Ai e May foi lindíssima, me fez chorar por dias. O final é incrível: todos encontram a paz, seguem suas vidas e ficam bem. Oaboum buscou tratamento, conseguiu se recuperar, mas ainda sinto que o desfecho dela merecia um pouco mais de atenção.

De qualquer forma, Pluto é uma obra inesquecível. Eu poderia falar dela pelo resto da vida!

10/10 Amazing story

Namtan Tipnaree Weerawatnodom her acting skills is amazing to the point that you start to feel like there's two different actors playing that role from her facial expressions to the way they angle the camera is just amazing. I can honestly say this is one of my favorite GL series just because of the acting skills and an amazing story. The chemistry between the two leads I can't wait to see what they play in next together from the unspoken words of just a quick glance of their eyes together is amazing. The main story how it entwines with all the sub stories which leads to this incredible friendship and bond between all of the characters is so strong.

La órbita de Plutón es diferente a las de los demás planetas principales.

No puedo poner en palabras todo lo que sentí viendo esta serie. No solo la trama es interesante, sino que también tiene giros inesperados que te hacen desear querer ver otro capítulo una y otra vez. Dentro del GL, siento que Pluto es diferente y tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón.
Es una historia que conmueve, por momentos se siente como una caricia al corazón y a la vez te hace llorar provocando que todos los sentimientos del espectador se desborden. El amor de Ai-oon y May es tan dulce que se siente como un cuento de princesas, sin embargo, tiene un trasfondo muy profundo. Por otro lado, poco a poco vamos conociendo a Ob-oom, quien al comienzo de la serie es casi un misterio. El triángulo amoroso de Phim, Pang y Jan me resultó muy interesante también. Quiero destacar también a Ton, quien es la persona que siempre está acompañando y cuidando a May.
Namtan y Film son unas actrices maravillosas, tienen un talento impresionante. Como espectadora, sentí cada una de las emociones de sus personajes. Namtan logró darle vida a dos personajes totalmente diferentes, con vivencias y personalidades casi opuestas. Sin dudas, aplaudo a Pluto y a todo su equipo por traer una serie que, además de su historia y personajes cautivadores, visualmente es muy bella. Recomiendo verla sin saber nada más que la sinopsis, porque sorprende al espectador más de una vez.

Pluto è una storia più complessa rispetto alla media delle GL, che mescola romanticismo, mistero e questioni sociali. È una delle GL thailandesi da non perdere; la fotografia e la scenografia hanno un tocco artistico che a volte è sorprendente. Le interpretazioni di tutto il cast sono buone.

Il dramma a volte sembra naturale e realistico, ma in altri momenti l'aspetto soap opera è eccessivo. Affronta, o cerca di affrontare, questioni importanti come la disabilità, i traumi infantili, il perdono, l'espiazione e la giustizia, ma non sempre con successo. Spesso non riesce a decidere cosa sia importante, con il risultato di temi e sottotrame poco sviluppati.

Forse la cosa che mi ha lasciato più perplessa è la questione della cecità. La sceneggiatura suggerisce che la cecità non è un limite, ma poi vuole che gli spettatori gioiscano per il recupero della vista da parte della protagonista, sottolineando addirittura che la cecità era una punizione. Non propriamente un bel messaggio.

La storia dei gemelli, con i loro contrasti e le loro somiglianze, è purtroppo messa in secondo piano, così come la differenza di classe tra le due protagoniste.

Nel complesso, è una buona serie GL, ma avrebbe potuto essere molto di più.

A beleza do amor entre mulheres

Pluto é uma série carregada de amor. Aqui, por mais que tenham momentos muito dramáticos, tristes e muitas intrigas, sempre tivemos cenas lindas entre Ai-oon e May. Namtan e Film tiveram uma ótima química e transmitiram muito bem a sensação de se estar apaixonada. O amor das duas personagens é lindo e muito tocante, e me deixa muito feliz ver uma série que representa o amor entre duas mulheres de uma forma tão bonita.

A história é bem novelesca (o que não é uma crítica), com muitas reviravoltas e drama. Foi bem legal acompanhar esse GL semanalmente. Eu ainda não assisti muitos GLs, mas até o momento, acho que esse foi o que achei melhor de forma técnica. Achei muito bem feito, com cenas lindas e bem atuado.

Além disso, as atrizes são lindíssimas. Difícil não ficar hipinotozada olhando para a tela! kkkkkk
