Mark and his Golden Blood donor
I wasn't feeling it. There was so much wrong with episodes 1-5 that had me searching every person who was involved. From the director, production team, actors, and the two kids. What in the bl black hole was this? Nope. We waited too long for this. I did not sign up for this. Joss and Garwin were to bring Mark and Tong to life. Who doesn't like a series led by a good-looking vampire. I apologize. A gorgeously handsome vampire. Let's begin.Three things were missing. A little gloom, suspense, and copious amounts of blood. You know, the things vampires are known for. Speed, mind reading, and biting a few necks. Well, the director probably wasn't having it. Gloom, non-existent. For people who were supposed to be protecting the golden blood, Tong sure was out and about a lot. Like he wasn't hard to track. Find Mark, and you will find him. Suspense, when the little girl was creepy crawling with the knife to kill Tong, I said finally. Less than 2 minutes, and that's it. Mark to the rescue. The most amount of blood seen was when Kla died and the junior vampire in episode 1. Jnr vamp nailed it. I was getting hopeful when he appeared because nobody was going to convince me that there wasn't room in the budget for better cgi. Joss writhing in electrical pain from a taste of the sacred golden blood had me chuckling. They probably used the same company that did Daou's midnight tremors in Century of Love. Those electrical shocks looked familiar. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, Mark had to save him by going through the glass on the upper floor while holding Tong as they descended to his car. It was so visually depressing. It would have been so much better had they been shown fleeing and then appearing in the car. I get it, budget. The pacing was erratic. The beginning didn't set the tone, whether it were a drama or a rom com. Neo's acting was oddly off. Like he couldn't find the rhythm of his character. He was just there. Voicing his part and going through the motions. When he died, he was probably relieved at that point. Gawin's screwed up face made him look more childish than a 20 year old man. The camera panned away to a far-off look with good reason. Two of them just there looking at an impaled Kla was not good. Also, does Gawin know that self care is important as an actor? An overgrown armpit in one scene and a very rough leg in the first nc scene. Razors are cheap.
What kept me watching? Joss. Joss in his whities. Joss in his blueies. Joss stripped down bare chested. Joss's superior look and constant frowning. I kept vacilitating between ogling and cringing. The director knew that they needed help big time, so him being half naked the most was expected. When Mark said, "If it looks good, why hide it?" Assignment understood.
Then, between 7 and 12, magic happened. The story started coming together, and the real action began. The true enemies revealed themselves, and the plot was finally realized. Special mention of their conversation and Mark fulfilling Tong's request was one of the most beautiful deliveries and emotionally charged scenes in all of Thai history. By the time Tong said, "I do." I was crying buckets. Their connection had ripened to that poignant moment. What a moment! What Joss and Gawin share can not be classed as chemistry. It goes beyond that, and in that moment, it was felt.
I'm not going to gloss over all that wasn't right with the production. The graphics, at times the weak script, Joss's bland acting, Neo's unnaturally bad acting, and the worst fighting scenes in all of vampiredom. When Joss entered through the window, shirtless and bruised, I couldn't contain my laughter. Like he was strong enough to fly, obviously shirtless for impact, but on landing was so drained he had to be held. When Thara descended from the upper floor with one leg bent, yes, another cringe moment. What were the entire team thinking. I'd probably do the same thing because at that point, there was no other way to mess it up. It was what it was.
The writing had flaws, but I will agree with the ending. The culmination of everyone's forever was apt. I was happy to see the fate of Nakhan. Yes, Tonkla died, but Nakhan also had been living in a shell that he too sought release to be with the one he loved. The all seeing Thara not seeing her own demise was perfect. The acting, for the most part, was good enough to keep me watching. Gawin's facial expressions changed over time, and in the end, he was the one who brought the show together.
I recommend seeing it but don't compare it to foreign productions if you are to enjoy it.

excellent visuals, nonsense writing
Overall: I can accept and enjoy vampires, aliens, etc but the world building and writing still needs to be consistent and make sense or it breaks the fantasy for me. 12 episodes about 50 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala (available in the U.S., U.K, Australia & Germany) https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5176/my-golden-blood-2025-e01 ; iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/my-golden-blood-episode-1-15i43kuok94?lang=en_us ; GMMTV's YouTube Channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLszepnkojZI6dCriKkjM96prEY5v2Nhtu&si=_TzfUsEzmPpPs7Jw (not available in SE Asia and countries covered by GagaOOLala). All 3 platforms appear to be the same length.Content Warnings: past and current murders, blood, stalking, intimate partner abuse, held against will, manipulation, age gap, kidnapping, fights/violence, grief, torture
Watch Suggestions (to focus on sweet/steamy moments with the MLs)
- read the synopsis and watch episode 1
- skip episodes 2 and 3
- episode 4 watch 23-24:30 and 43-end
- episode 5 watch 40:45-end
- watch episode 6
- episode 7 watch beginning to 6:20 or can watch all
- episode 8 skip 12:30-20:15 or could even start at 49 and watch to the end
- stop episode 9 at 35 minutes (they missed out on what could have been a fantastic side couple/redemption arc imo)
- episode 10 watch 15:30-15:55, brief kiss around 18, 22-25, 45:55-end
- episode 11 watch 22:15-27:05 and 28:30-35 to avoid angst/serious stuff
- episode 12 watch 36:45-end
What I Liked
- visuals
- vampires
- sensual moments
- they refused to do the noble idiot trope
Room For Improvement
- not sold on the world building, police aren't concerned about what was happening?, a character who is supposedly good let another character go off and likely murder a bunch more people
- felt they were going for serious/sensual but then the special effects and dialogue gave it a corny feeling
- not a fan of the giant age gap because the younger guy acted like a toddler and also the "taking care of from afar" aka stalking as the younger character was growing up, the power imbalance is gigantic
- episode 2 was a world building exposition dump
- sick after the rain trope and refused to communicate in episode 5
- voicing inner thoughts
- missed opportunity of a solid redemption arc and side couple
- cartoonish idiot villain (why on earth wouldn't he have gotten proof/talked to them earlier?!!!, and he's lived a super long time but somehow isn't smarter/doesn't have resources and is camping out in the wilderness?!!)
- total nonsense to not tell friends the truth "in order to protect them" when not telling them obviously puts them in more danger because they can't make informed decisions, not talking about an obvious solution beforehand, terrible "plans"
- voice over exposition dump at the end of the finale

Unexpectedly Addicted to My Golden Blood
I honestly didn’t expect to get this hooked, but here I am—obsessed. The story pulls you in right away with this cool fantasy vibe, but it’s the emotions and characters that really got me. Mark (Joss) as a 200-year-old vampire? Mysterious, broody, and somehow still super lovable. And Fluke as Tong? He’s just so easy to root for—sweet, brave, and with blood that literally changes everything.Their chemistry felt natural and deep, and I loved how the show balanced the romance with darker, suspenseful moments. There’s drama, there’s tenderness, and even though it’s a vampire story, it never feels over-the-top. It’s just... captivating.
Also, the visuals and music? So on point. Every episode had that polished, cinematic look, and the soundtrack fit perfectly. (I’ve already added “Closer” and “Just You” to my playlist).
If you're into BL with a twist, or you just want something different and emotional, I 100% recommend giving My Golden Blood a try. It’s got heart, tension, and moments that’ll stick with you.

A Mix of Missed Potential and Mesmerising Talent
Look, I’ll be honest—I wasn’t exactly jumping out of my seat when I first heard about My Golden Blood. I didn’t have high hopes. But I gave it a go because the cast looked promising—and let’s be real, with Joss and Gawin headlining, it was hard not to at least be curious. My Golden Blood (Thai: เลือดนายลมหายใจฉัน) is a 2025 fantasy-romance BL series produced by GMMTV and Matching Max Solutions. Directed by Saroj Kunatanad and written by Bee Pongsate Lucksameepong and Piangpaitoon Satrawaha, the series stars Way-Ar Sangngern (Joss) as the 200-year-old vampire Mark and Gawin Caskey (Fluke) as the sweet but stubborn human Tong. The series airs on GMM25 and streams on GagaOOLala, iQIYI, and GMMTV’s YouTube channel.
1. The Plot
Mark is a broody, immortal vampire who’s spent centuries wandering through existence with little purpose—until he meets Tong, a 20-year-old uni student with an ultra-rare blood type: "Golden Blood". This blood is every vampire’s kryptonite and obsession, making Tong both precious and a target. Mark’s job? Protect him at all costs, even from himself.
The show kicks off with promise. A vampire-human love story with heavy BL tones? Yes, please. Tong is cheerful and clueless; Mark is stoic and seductive. There are some spicy, almost homoerotic moments—classic BL meets Gothic romance. Think brooding vampire emerging shirtless from a pool while the human gazes on, confused and intrigued. It's giving Twilight with a homoerotic twist.
But then… things kind of unravel.
2. The Good Stuff
Joss (Mark): Perfectly cast. He’s got the body, the presence, and the intensity to make a convincing vampire. He brought elegance and sex appeal to a role that could have easily turned cheesy. Even when the writing faltered, he held his ground.
Gawin (Tong): While this is the first time I found Gawin’s character not all that likeable (Tong made some head-scratching decisions), I’ve got to hand it to him—he plays a convincing 20-year-old. From Not Me to Enchanté to Dark Blue Kiss, he’s proven time and again he’s got serious range. Even when I found Tong’s choices frustrating, Gawin made him real.
Um Apasiri as Miss Thara: Just… wow. Regal, commanding, and drop-dead gorgeous. Every scene she was in had gravitas. She’s an absolute queen and brought that veteran magic to the screen.
Mond Tanutchai (Nakan): Always sexy, always mysterious. If anyone was born to play a vampire with moral ambiguity, it’s Mond.
3. The Not-So-Good
Plot & Pacing: The show struggles with momentum. There's a lot of build-up, but not enough payoff. For a vampire show, it seriously lacked any bite—literally. There was more action in a slow yoga class than in the vampire fights here.
Mythology & World-Building: The vampire lore felt underdeveloped. We got hints of a deeper mythos, but it never fully took shape. The only supernatural power Mark seemed to flex was taking off his shirt.
Chemistry: For a romance, especially BL, chemistry is everything. But Mark and Tong? You needed a telescope to spot the sparks. Even the sex lacked intensity. They felt more obligatory than passionate.
4. Final Thoughts
The series flirts with so many interesting themes—immortality, forbidden love, the sensuality of vampirism, existential dread—but never fully commits to any of them. The writing feels safe, sometimes flat, and misses the emotional punch that this kind of story should deliver.
Still, it’s worth watching for the cast alone. Gawin’s emotional nuance, Joss’s charisma, and Um’s queenly presence keep the show afloat. If you’re a BL fan or love vampire fiction, you’ll probably find something to enjoy—just go in with tempered expectations.
Is My Golden Blood groundbreaking? Not really. Is it campy, visually pleasing, and mildly entertaining? Absolutely. Just don’t expect fangs that dig too deep.

Sexy Vampires
A great start, looking forward to seeing how this develops. Great chemistry so far between the leads and support cast. The OST is really good as well and great overall production value. A very intriguing storyline, it’s been awhile since there’s been a vampire BL. I really enjoyed the preview so it will be interesting to see how the story develops.Update: How has Joss/Mark never played a Vampire before, those eyes alone are worthy of getting bitten lmao. But seriously he is knocking this one out of the park. So good to see him adding a few layers to his character and seeing them get peeled back slowly, I’m a fan, where have you been all my BL life. Ep.7 and his body ody ody I had the same reaction as Tong OMG! That body is 2nd only to Apo’s bath scene in KP.
Fluke Gawin/Tong has an amazing musical talent so the OST is off the wall good. I’m slowly warming up to his acting so we’ll see how it pans out.
Neo/Tongkla is so sweet and strong. The broship between him and Tong is the only kind you can get out of a supernatural/fantasy type BL and it’s a very strong relationship. I really enjoy watching these two support each other in this genre.

very boring
When it comes to vampire series, what do you expect? Good special effects, action scenes, vampires that scare you, blood, the protagonist fighting evil vampires ...But then you remember that it's a BL from gmmtv...
Ridiculous special effects and I didn't expect Holiwood but BL The sign a smaller company ( did a great job in terms of special effects ...
The story was a snooze, it felt like those boring school BLs, and the performances were bad.In my opinion, there is a lack of investment in these BL series.

This Show Is Terrible In Every Shape & Form
So, who wrote this show? Cause your writing and scripts are trash, and you need to never write a BL again. Nothing about this show's plot and lore makes sense, you can't even turn your brain off to watch this, cause nothing here is good enough to warrant that. Any questions I had about this show have either gone unanswered, or were vaguely answered: Where does the Golden Blood come from? Why isn't it golden? What are the vampires' abilities? Do all vampires have special gifts like Thara, Mark, and Nakan? What exactly does the Golden Blood do? Does it enhance a vampire's abilities, or does it slowly turn them human? Also, the way that this show simply did not want to acknowledge its plot and instead made its unbelievable romance arc the main focus, but JossGawin's unbelievable chemistry did not help sell or even make the romantic scenes watchable or enjoyable.
This was one of the worst BLs I could have watched this year.
The acting? Bad from everyone across the board
- Gawin can't give more than grumpy, confused, and stupid in any scene he's in. I haven't seen any of his older stuff, so idk if he can do better than this, but god, none of his more emotional & serious scenes held any weight to them.
- Joss simply gave angry, stupid, and looked like he was high in every scene, and idk if that was because of his eyebrows or simply because Joss is that bad of an actor, but fix it and do better or go be an underwear model cause they tried to distract us from his bad acting with him being shirtless or flexing in every other scene.
- Mond didn't even try to give a good performance, but idek if he could give one before this, cause he was pretty meh in Only Friends too.
- The lady who plays Thara is one of the most emotionless actresses I have ever come across; it was like she was simply reading her lines each and every time. Because of her bad acting, the "big twist" of her being the actual main antagonist was both predictable and boring.
- Neo did not need to be in this show, even though he was not in it for that long; you could take him out, and nothing would change. His death? Meaningless, considering it is only acknowledged two times after it happens, and Gawin couldn't even deliver a good performance to make you believe that he was grieving his death. His entire character was nothing, and the only thing that intrigued me was a potential dark romance between him and Nakan... which they didn't do.
This show felt like a poor attempt at promoting Gawin's music career with the bland OST and that forced scene where it came on in that car scene.
Sooo all in all, go ahead and wrap up JossGawin and this show because they and this show sucked in every aspect. I have no faith in whatever they are going to bring in, Only Friends 2.

It's way too overhyped
Like the story had potential but it's like a student wrote it or something. Very basic and it feels low budget. Also the whole relationship is just toxic and I don't get it why no-one is talking about the AGEGAP? Like Tong is 20 and Mark is like hundreds years old. It creeps me out... So i got bored of the mc and was/is? rooting for neo's couple if it exists. Was this review helpful to you?
Amazing!
This show had 2 small bad things, luckely it was such a great show that these 2 things dind't make me give it less that a 10 out of 10.The 2 bad things: The pouty face anoyed me so much!! Gawin is a great actor, but this pouting was really bad!!
That fall through the window was so badly executed, i know GMMTV can do so much better... all the other special effects were amazing!!
That said, i loved this show so much, it was exiting, romantic, thrilling and a great plot. The show grew on me and i was all in from the moment they fell in love and the pouting didn't happen so much anymore. This show has a beautifull OST.
The chemistry between Gawin and Joss is amazing, not only were their kisses great, but also how they touch each other, it shows that even hands and fingers can show amazing chemistry.
Also great acting from Um and Mond, they are amazing actors and did the show justice.
I will definatly watch this show again in the future.

Love
Ep 6 was the best episode for me, especially how they showed how its gonna be hard to get away from a vampire irl (if there is), and the way how joss(mark) portray the character being aggressive when it’s thirsty from blood *chef kiss*. And also how gawin(tong) showed emotion, the fear of his life and also his care for mark. Was this review helpful to you?

Could have been EPIC... Could have.
This show had so much potential in my opinion, and also seeing others' comments here, lots of you think the same way.Episode 1 was outstanding, it gave us a pretty strong start. From Ep2, the show started to exhibit problems as it progressed towards the finale. The plot slowly stopped making any sense, sound/voice issues started to emerge, the script and the direction were getting weaker as well (they literally said out loud all their thoughs and emotions LOL), plus the CGI was horrible. Man, if you don't have to budget, make a strong story and script, so they carry your show. The later you got in the series, the lousier it became, until hardly anthing made sense.
As for other aspects, the quality was fluctuating: the fight scenes were generally badly choreograped but there were some good ideas. Costumes were decent. Side characters' acting was good and bad. They didn't really do justice to the actor Neo, I think he can do better, I blame the director and the screenwriters here (and at many areas).
What was constantly good is the acting of Joss, Fluke and Mond. They would have carried a much more serious toned show on their backs as well easily.
What I missed:
- More lore-building (Vampires, power, rules, history, interactions, power seats)
- Better plot devices
- Less obvious plot twists
- Better dialogues
- Darker tone, vamps are meant to be a bit scary (even tho there are at least permanent deaths)
- A more detailed and meaningful ending
CONCLUSION:
By the final episode of My Golden Blood, it feels more like a project for your highschool drama class than a production for television. SADLY.
6/10
