What I wanted is vampires, what I got is peak romance plus vampires
An unforgettable show in best way possible. The finale left me with such a high that the urge to rewatch it immediately is overwhelming. I've never seen a bl like this from gmmtv. It's not what I initially wanted, but turns out - it is exactly what I needed. After a shaky start (first 4 episodes are weaker than the rest) it shapeshifted into something mesmerizing, addictive and powerful. JossGawin chemistry is unmatched and from now on I'll watch everything they're inSpecial effects are this show's one and only weakness and even they become better later on and give it a special flavor. Music is top notch. I knew Gawin was an amazing singer but Joss surprised me, I didn't expect him to sound so good too
My golden blood's special secret weapon is - intimacy. I don't mean just nc scenes, what I mean is - casual intimacy too. Touches - when talking, when idle, in every step of the way - it made their relationship look rich and real
If you're on fence if you should watch this show or not, I say go for it!

As an ancient sage (iqiyi's tiktok profile) said “1% VAMPIRE 99% BOYFRIEND”
If you are looking for a vampire story I suggest you to change drama, because this tv series is about a love story with just a little sprinkling of vampires. If you are a romantic like me, mentally prepare yourself to have to turn a blind eye to some plot choices (still shocked by the Eiffel Tower scene honestly, why?) and budget choices (it's no one's fault except our beloved gmmtv I guess). Without taking in account these details, I can assure you that Mark and Tong will make you fall in love with their love story!
STORY: having read the novel I have to say that I think there has been an improvement in the plot. I didn't like some of the characters' choices, but honestly I don't really care because I was too busy enjoying the chemistry between Joss and Gawin, who were stellar. At first I didn't think I would see scenes like this considering the presentation of the characters in the first episodes, but I really loved Mark's vulnerability and Tong's proactiveness.
ACTING/CAST: the best part of the drama along with the music. This is my first Joss's drama, but I'm actually a fan of Gawin from DBK and I had no doubts that I would like his acting. But I didn't think that I would love the partnership between Joss and Gawin so much. The scenes between them are just amazing. It's the little gestures and glances they exchanged as Mark and Tong that made me follow the drama from the first episode to the last. I could rewatch their scenes together over and over again
MUSIC: I've had the my golden blood OSTs in my personal playlist for like a month now and I listen to them all the time. Closer is my favorite, but when Ever After came out, I got really emotional. Bravi!!
REWATCH VALUE: for the plot not so much, but MarkTong conquered my heart with their love story, so I would gladly see them again.
OVERALL: EXCUSE ME WE'VE GOT BABYGIRL GAWIN, THIS IS A 100/10 FOR ME
In short if you like couples with amazing chemistry, Joss's abs (in every episodes! Wtf I hope he was paid well ahaha), Gawin's talent (as an actor and as a singer!) and excellent ost this drama is for you!
Personally, I really hope we can see another drama with these two actors as the leads, with a little more budget and a more engaging plot they can really create a masterpiece.
And when that happens I'll come back here to rewatch My Golden Blood to remember where it all began.
Thank you Mark, Tong (and Tonklaaaa) for the journey!

Give it a chance, its good
The writing of the series wasn't 100% but it was good. for the actors did a wonderful job and without sponsors am proud of how far they have all made it. This was a fun experience, for those who have not yet watched, I hope u can give it a chance. The main couple, there chemistry is excellent and the OST are amazing.I hope this review will be helpful.

A Decent Effort
A typical love story revolving around the vampire lore. It's not anything extraordinary plot-wise, but it does have a beautiful aesthetic, with scraps of gothic elements and some very interesting musical choices, that add a more dramatic tone to the series, aligning well with the overall theme. If there's one thing I feel was missing, it was the proper exploration of the vampire world. This show focuses mostly on the romantic aspect, without delving deeply into the supernatural part, resulting to a weak world-building.Regarding the acting, it was my favourite part of the series. Joss and Gawin as the main leads, did a really good job portraying their characters and showed a great chemistry. For me, this was Joss's best role so far -- he was magnificent.
I do recommend this series to people who enjoy vampire stories or supernatural elements in general. It's a nice series to watch!

Another overhyped series with disappointing outcome
Yeah, no. I gave this series a chance when it first aired and then gave it another chance after the sixth episode aired, but the outcome is still the same – disappointing to the max. GMMTV needs to understand that paring down two good-looking actors is not the only ingredient to make a show sell. The leads are not the best at delivering the story, the emotions of the characters, or their body language. Sure, they are good-looking, but that’s not why I was interested in the series in the first place. It’s the straightest BL couple to date. I’m sorry, but they are not doing as good of a job as I first thought they would when I first saw the trailer.Moving forward to the storyline itself, it’s great that we finally see a new concept in the BL world, but man, this was very poorly done. From the CGI in the first episode to the cringey moments and predictable plot, GMMTV needs to step it up and make their production better. The soundtrack was also nothing to write home about.
For those who are new to this genre or love the leads, especially Joss, go ahead and watch it. It’s nothing spectacular, but for me, this is another overhyped series whose delivery was very disappointing.

Not what I expected at all, I feel dissapointed tbh
I was initially thrilled to hear about a new vampire-themed BL show, especially since it's a genre that's long overdue for exploration. Unfortunately, the first episode failed to deliver on my expectations. The storyline was predictable, and the introduction of the main characters felt forced and cringe-worthy. The way Gavin looked at Josh, the vampire, was particularly awkward. The music tried too hard to evoke emotions, and the visuals relied on tired vampire tropes.
While the lead actors are undeniably attractive, their good looks aren't enough to carry the show. As a fan of fantasy, I was disappointed that the story didn't grip me. I'm not eagerly anticipating the next episode, and I'm not invested in the story's outcome.
The show's attempt at suspense fell flat, and the representation felt predictable and clichéd. Overall, I'm underwhelmed by the show's potential and don't feel compelled to continue watching.

My Golden Blood: Predictable, But Worth the Ride
My Golden Blood isn’t the kind of series that’ll blow your mind, but it’s still a fun ride if you don’t go in expecting too much. The overall plot is pretty easy to predict, and it follows the usual bl formula without many risks. That said, I really liked the core idea behind the series. Still, there were a few moments that caught me off guard in a good way, which kept me watching. What truly stood out and, honestly, what made the experience unforgettable was the special effects editing in the first and final episodes. I’m talking next level, low budget, green screen fever dream energy. It was so unexpected and over the top that it became a highlight in its own it was so bad it was perfect.
It might not be flawless, but it’s definitely worth watching ,just don’t go in expecting anything groundbreaking. It’s a pretty standard, predictable series, but the main couple had decent chemistry and carried the story well. If you're in the mood for something simple with a few moments that don’t go exactly how you’d expect, My Golden Blood delivers just that.

Boring? No. Predictable? Absolutely
As the title says, I knew how the whole show was gonna go just from the 1st ep. The show was predictable in every way, but it was still never boring somehow. This was somehow addicting, i feel like some it is cuz you want to figure out if the next episode is really going to go exactly how you think it's going to (spoiler alert, it will). If you want a campy vampire BL to relax to after a long day, this fits the criteria. But if you want something with a darker theme, this is going to disappoint you.
I expected a better story from P'Aof, his works have never been a bigger miss than this. Ngl, came here for Gawin, stayed here for Gawin, if it were any other actor I would've dropped after ep 3-4. I wish they gave Gawin a better project, like that man can ACT, but he's always sidelined. But, even after the scathing review, I will recommend it. Cuz it's good, just not as good as it could've been imo.
Explanation (With major spoilers) given below :-
First of all, WHAT WAS THAT CGI like I've seen better fan made edits done on free capcut than that 😭 And what the hell were those vampire noises... Bruh there was a life and death fight and I was almost pissing my pants from laughing at the vampire noises.
The only saving grace were the actors, they truly did amazing with what they were given. I believe the story had potential that was held back by budget and time. Idk if they actually wanted to make this a campy vampire BL or they wanted to portray darker vampire themes that ended up falling short. Because there were truly some good emotional scenes, such as the one in ep 6, in the hotel, and ep 8, when Mark tries to get away from and but Tong holds him back.
The side characters were very underdeveloped as well. Tonkla could've been more than just a shield for Tong, they didn't develop their friendship nearly enough, or show enough of Tonkla's side of the story for his death to be compelling/meaningful for the story. It felt like they needed a character to die to make it a "dark vampire series" so just randomly chose him.
The story wouldn't have been as predictable if they actually established Nakan as a viable villain alternative to Thara. You cannot tell me that people didn't instantly clock Thara as the real villain as soon as she appeared. Nakan felt like just a canon fodder. He could've been much better established as a villain, and then give a much more surprising reveal about Thara. His redemption arc also makes little sense.
Let's not even talk about how much better the show could've been with NakanTonkla as a side couple 😔 (RIP Nakan & Tonkla, have your romance in heaven... Or hell... Or wherever vampires go after death)
Overall, it was a very predictable and underdeveloped story for me, and I blame it all on gmmtv's excessive need to follow the 12 ep format with the 11th ep curse. If they deviated even a bit, the story could've been made much more interesting, now it's just another cookie cutter story with zero variation.

A 3rd tier GMMTV show for braindead people...
I can only say "Typical GMMTV". When you use the same door-sound used 10 years ago in Sotus and regardless of how heavy the door is, it is always the same, you know that the sound editors just used the cheapest thing available. And don*t mention the music. It's either "suspense" or "sentimental" or the same canned music every GMMTV romcom is using and has no direction and no concept.Of course this is not the worst of this series, it shows just how irrelevant this show was for GMMTV. It seems this was just a "job creation scheme" for two "aging" actors who would sit on the bench otherwise. That's not saying that they are bad actors, it's onl.y saying that GMMTV collects actors like others collect Pokémons and sometimes you use them, because it's just fun. And could GMMTV stop putting nearly 30 year old actors into universities? Especially if the baddy looks younger and is a teacher instead 🤣.
"Why is it not working?" Nakan asks in episode 7. Because the story is badly written. It does not answer the question "where does the golden blood come from?". You research that question for decades and still have no answer (of course, because the script writers had only a week to write something). We only know, it makes you mad or horny and the fragrance forces you to jerk off. It can destroy vampires immortality but not turn you into a human. But it can resist the effects of vampires controlling you, but you can still become a vampire.
And because the story is so bad "Tonkla" submits to his lowest feelings and then not- and then he dies... Whoops. But nothing says "rose pedal bath" more after the funeral the scriptwriters thought.
Finally the finale... oh my god... this is all sooo cliché. As usual GMMTV has no vision or courage to have a bad ending which would give this series a glimpse of something special. The golden blood does not hinder you to become a vampire yourself and we have no clue how that golden blood influences everything. Should he not be the most powerful vampire now?
Overall I could have not given a rats ass myself about the characters. I did not care who died and who didn't. Most of the time the whole storyline was streched to fill 12 episodes which made most of if boring as hell. The chemistry was there sometimes but I never ever had one a fluffy feeling and even other bad shows at least manage that. So really this was a non-event for me. I needed binge-watch the last 4 episodes to write this review and that was a chore. 🤣
So, is this the worst GMMTV show this year (2025)? Yes. Is it the worst show ever: no. I would say, it was mostly a waste of time. Why even this show with it's obviously bad script is so overrated - I have no clue. You can believe all the 9-10 ratings reviews that this is the best show after human invented sliced bread or you have a brain of thinking yourself and believe me when I tell you, please watch something else.

They have amazing chemistry
This drama is very cool. Joss and Gawin are incredibly good they have such an amazing chemistry. It’s so nice to see them together and they look so naturale you have to see them. The story is great even if some parts look a bit awkward since Mark is a Vampire. But when you reach ep.3 everything will fit into place and now I ‘m giggling like a little girl for every new episodes.. hands down this bl has THE BEST OSTs Gawin has such an amazing voice and Joss is very good too (?) I had no idea. Please support this serie and you wont regret it. I really love it. Big shoutout to all the amazing actorsWas this review helpful to you?
Amazing!
This show had 2 small bad things, luckely it was such a great show that these 2 things dind't make me give it less that a 10 out of 10.The 2 bad things: The pouty face anoyed me so much!! Gawin is a great actor, but this pouting was really bad!!
That fall through the window was so badly executed, i know GMMTV can do so much better... all the other special effects were amazing!!
That said, i loved this show so much, it was exiting, romantic, thrilling and a great plot. The show grew on me and i was all in from the moment they fell in love and the pouting didn't happen so much anymore. This show has a beautifull OST.
The chemistry between Gawin and Joss is amazing, not only were their kisses great, but also how they touch each other, it shows that even hands and fingers can show amazing chemistry.
Also great acting from Um and Mond, they are amazing actors and did the show justice.
I will definatly watch this show again in the future.
