It’s just a big NO
For a company that makes money, making such a series is a crime. The story is good, really good. I love story about vampire ( I Watch so many Times the moovie Twilight). But that series is a big NO. when I see special effect, I was like «😬». You make money and you drop this ? just Nooooooo. The acting of Joss and Gawin. Noooooo. episode 11 when Mark came back ? the hug ? no emotions. it was just cringy. company with less money… make better than this. Quality is better than quantity. GMMTV, if you make 3 series for years and these series are good with good acting, good story and good special effect is better than 70 series with bad acting, bad story and bad special effect.Was this review helpful to you?

I really enjoyed this one. Of course, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't like the trailer but it was still good. The story, the fact that Joss was a vampire and a nice looking one at that. I mean, Joss is so gorgeous to look at and he's great at acting . I also love the fact that he was paired with Gawin as they have great chemistry together. Then, Neo was in this and I love Neo's acting. In any show Neo is in, he has great chemistry with whoever and whatever show he's acting in. Heck Neo's chemistry is so good that he could have good chemistry with a spoon! And let me not forget about Mond being a vampire in this! He is good looking as well. To me, whole series was a smorgasbord of eye candy!The acting, the plot, the pairings and everything about it to me was just excellent! If I had to say, the most disappointing part about this series is when the character Neo portrayed was killed. My mind was screaming, "We got all these good looking vampires around make him one too! He'd just be another addition to the good-looking vampire club," as he was dying, but he wasn't made into one, which I felt was a waste.
I would recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a fluffy, yet spicy BL with a good plot and tons of eye candy. Not to mention vampires; good looking vampires!

So wattpad coded I can’t believe my eyes
Vampire BL with tsundere male lead? Yeah, sign me up right now.Joss is not my first choice to play a vampire (Jeff Satur, anyone?) because I hardly think of vampires as tanned, muscly dudes but okay I’m not complaining. Joss is sooo fiiiiiine. He makes Gawin look small next to him. Their chemistry and tension is better than expected and they’re really quite cute.
But storyline-wise, My Golden Blood doesn’t do so well. It can only be described as the Wattpad-iest BL to hit our shores.
Vampire-themed BLs are few and far between and I was really looking forward to this one. The key conflict in the series is the civil war amongst the vampires, which made for a promising plot.
But unfortunately, the conflict was one-dimensional and the plot came off as overly manufactured and silly. The storyline just didn’t have enough for us to take this seriously.
Verdict: Somewhat disappointing

Nothing Awful, Just Nothing New
This was an interesting watch...not bad, not good, but definitely leaning more toward the “not great” side. I’ll give credit where it’s due though: making a solid vampire story is tricky. Fantasy creatures like vampires are hard to pull off without a strong budget or solid effects, and this series struggled a bit there. The yellow eyes and vampire teeth didn’t really work for me. The eyes especially, they just looked fake, and honestly, they weren’t even necessary when the fangs were already doing the job. To be fair, the teeth themselves were surprisingly decent. They actually matched the actors’ real teeth, which is rare since fake ones usually look way too white. But they did have this habit of constantly showing them off mid-scene, like, yes, I know you’re a vampire, you don’t have to prove it every five seconds. The flying scenes were also pretty rough, and that ending, with the trip to the Eiffel Tower and the park, looked painfully green-screened. It’s a shame, because it feels like the show had enough budget to polish those little details, but they just didn’t. That said, I really liked the music. The opening song was amazing, and the sets had a nice vintage, vampire aesthetic that gave things a bit of magic. Plot-wise, it wasn’t the strongest. It was predictable, I mean, of course Tong was going to become a vampire. That’s basically the blueprint for human x vampire stories. But I’ll give them this: the main twist actually caught me off guard, and I didn’t see it coming (maybe that’s on me, but still). Some of the deaths felt unnecessary though, like they were just added for shock value. The pacing could’ve been better too, it wasn't super rushed, but fast enough that it lost some emotional weight. The chemistry between the leads was hit or miss. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, and I think a lot of that came down to Joss. His emotional delivery just didn’t always land; it felt like the feelings were there but never fully connected. Like when you’ve been charging your phone for an hour and realize the charger wasn’t plugged in, that’s kind of how the chemistry felt. Overall, My Golden Blood was fine. Mediocre, sure, but not unbearable. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it, but I’m still curious to see what other upcoming vampire BLs will do with the concept, hopefully with a bit more bite.Rating: 7.5/10

A complete failure
Everything was there for a good series: an original idea (vampires, golden blood), well-known actors, and a big budget (I guess?). Unfortunately, nothing works. What happened?The love story completely takes over the vampire/fantasy plot — sadly, a classic issue with Thai BLs, especially those from this channel. On top of that, the romance is portrayed in a heavy-handed and cliché way: endless gazing into each other's eyes, constant soul-searching about love and destiny, dramatic love declarations over soft music…
The acting is poor, which is surprising coming from these actors — they’ve done much better in the past.
The special effects are soooo cheap, you really wonder where the money went.
The story lacks creativity. There’s no reason why the secrets revealed at the end of the series couldn’t have been shared right from the start — the only explanation is that without them, there wouldn’t have been a story at all. That just shows how thin the plot really is.
The final episode crams all these flaws together, wrapped in plot shortcuts and inconsistencies, to the point where it becomes laughable.

My Golden Blood — When Great Casting Defies First Impressions
I'll be honest: when I first saw the casting announcement for My Golden Blood, I wasn't convinced. The story immediately reminded me of Twilight: a powerful vampire protecting a fragile human whose blood everyone desires. Then I looked at the cast. Joss Way-ar Sangngern, one of GMMTV's most masculine leading men, was the obvious choice for the vampire. But Gawin Caskey as the vulnerable human? I simply couldn't picture it. Gawin is tall, broad-shouldered, naturally athletic, and has a quiet confidence that doesn't immediately fit the image of someone who constantly needs protection. I couldn't have been happier to be proven wrong.What makes the casting work isn't appearance—it's acting.
Gawin never tries to physically become weak. Instead, he changes the way he carries himself. His body language becomes more reserved, his voice softer, and his expressions subtly communicate fear, loneliness and vulnerability without ever making Tong feel pathetic. That's the mark of a very good actor. He doesn't change who he is; he changes how the character exists within his own body. By the end of the series, I had completely forgotten my initial doubts because Gawin had made me believe in Tong.
Joss, on the other hand, does exactly what Joss has always done best. He's the definition of the modern alpha male lead. At nearly 190 cm tall, with the physique of a model and the confidence to match, he naturally dominates every room he walks into. Thai dramas have built his career around that image, and My Golden Blood uses it perfectly. Mark is intimidating without trying to be, protective without becoming overbearing, and powerful without losing his emotional vulnerability. What surprised me most, however, was how much softer Joss allowed himself to become throughout the series. This wasn't simply another handsome bodyguard or stoic hero. There were moments where he let silence, hesitation and small gestures express more than dialogue ever could.
What really surprised me was their chemistry.
Before filming began, the two barely knew each other. Production delays gave them several months to spend time together, travelling, playing basketball and simply becoming friends before cameras started rolling. Looking at the final result, that extra time clearly paid off. Their relationship never feels manufactured for fan service. Instead, it grows naturally, making every quiet conversation feel just as intimate as the romantic scenes. They don't constantly try to convince you they're soulmates—you simply start believing it.
Ironically, that chemistry becomes one of the drama's biggest strengths... and one of its biggest weaknesses.
Every time Mark and Tong shared the screen, I became completely invested in their relationship. Then the story would cut to another subplot, another vampire conflict, or another supporting character, and all I wanted was to return to them. It's not that the supporting cast performed poorly. Actors like Um Apasiri, Mond Tanutchai and the rest of the vampire clan all delivered solid performances. The problem is that Joss and Gawin unintentionally overshadow everyone around them. Their scenes carry so much emotional weight that the rest of the story often struggles to maintain the same level of engagement.
The vampire mythology itself is enjoyable, even if it never becomes as rich as I hoped. The series clearly takes inspiration from Western vampire fiction while adapting it to a Thai BL format. There are moments where I wished the writers had explored vampire politics, history and world-building more deeply instead of repeatedly returning to romantic misunderstandings. The mythology is interesting enough to support a much larger story than the one we ultimately receive.
Visually, however, the production is excellent. Director Saroj Kunatanad creates a stylish atmosphere filled with elegant lighting, beautiful compositions and convincing action sequences. Yet I also think the influence of executive producer Aof Noppharnach can be felt throughout the series. Anyone familiar with A Tale of Thousand Stars, Moonlight Chicken, or Dark Blue Kiss will recognise the emphasis on emotional intimacy over spectacle. Rather than treating the vampire elements as the heart of the drama, the production constantly returns to the relationship between its two leads. That balance between fantasy and character is something Aof has consistently done well throughout his career, and My Golden Blood benefits enormously from it.
If I still have one criticism, it's that the story occasionally plays things a little too safely. The romance works, the action works, and the supernatural elements work, but I rarely felt genuinely surprised. The series sometimes follows familiar vampire tropes instead of pushing its own mythology further. Considering the quality of the production and the performances, I think it could have taken more creative risks.
Final Thought
My Golden Blood is one of those rare dramas that completely changed my expectations. I went in convinced the casting was wrong and finished believing that Joss and Gawin were exactly the reason the series worked. Joss brings effortless authority, while Gawin transforms a role that could easily have felt unbelievable into one of the drama's greatest strengths. Together, they create a relationship so compelling that they unintentionally overshadow almost everything else happening around them. The vampire story may not reinvent the genre, but thanks to two excellent performances and a production that consistently looks cinematic, My Golden Blood proves that great acting can completely overturn first impressions.

The show is based on vampire and human . A love story between a vampire and human which is very new in Thai bl and story telling of show is cool like pace of the show is bang , not too slow nor fast .
I'm amazed with the direction actually..seen so many bls but this is different from other not Just story wise but also the way it is presented.

My Golden Blood: A Missed Opportunity for a Promising Pair
I came into My Golden Blood with genuine curiosity, especially knowing it marked the debut of Josh and Gawin under GMMTV. Unfortunately, while the potential was there, the final product didn’t quite deliver.Acting-wise, Gawin clearly carried more weight—he was consistently more grounded and expressive in his performance. Josh, though visually fitting for the role, often lagged a few steps behind in terms of emotional depth and delivery. Their chemistry had flashes of connection, but not enough consistency to sustain the emotional beats the story aimed for.
The special effects? Sometimes unintentionally funny. They pulled me out of the already shaky narrative rather than enhancing it.
As for the storyline—this is where things really fell apart for me. I understand taste is subjective, but this plot desperately needed a full rewrite. The premise had room to be something fun or even heartfelt, but the execution was superficial and lacking coherence. I struggled to feel any real emotional tension, angst, or even investment in the main relationship. Nothing really hooked me.
That said, Thara’s actress was a pleasant surprise. She brought nuance and energy to a role that could’ve easily been forgettable. Kudos to her.
In the end, I hoped for a stronger first outing from JoshGawin under the GMMTV umbrella. Let’s be frank—almost any story could have been a better debut vehicle than this one. Here’s to better scripts and stronger direction in the future. The actors deserve it.

Failed
When it comes to a vampire story, you expect at least darkness, special effects and a sense of danger, but not on this channel.The vampire story has become just another sleepy romance story, with dubious acting.
I think everyone wonders where the money is going and there you can see that they don't value any actor's performance. For me, this kind of story has to have interesting villains. Those who you think will bring danger to the protagonists. In the end, it seems more like a boring school story.

Where do I even start…From the very beginning, the show just didn’t grab me. It felt weak and unconvincing right off the bat. I honestly feel sorry for Joss and Gawin there was so much potential, but it was completely wasted.
The direction was poor, and the screenwriting? It was an absolute mess. So many plot holes and nonsensical scenes it almost felt like an insult to the audience’s intelligence, as if we were expected to accept anything without question.
Finishing this series was a real struggle for me, and that says a lot considering I usually binge dramas in one go.
I found it painfully boring and kept hoping it would eventually pick up. Sadly, it never did.
As someone who loves vampire-themed shows, the whole thing felt so inconsistent, and I was left deeply disappointed.
The story was so incoherent that by the end, I honestly had no idea what was even happening.
This is, without a doubt, in my top 5 worst BL shows and trust me, I’ve watched a lot.
This is actually the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to leave a comment, just because I genuinely can’t believe what I watched.
I did enjoy the love scenes only when viewed as isolated scenes as I felt the chemistry at those moment. Within the context of the story, they made no sense. It felt more like they threw in a few steamy moments just to please fans, without any real buildup or emotional depth.
One of the few redeeming qualities was the OST, I have to give credit there. The songs were well-produced and quite enjoyable.
Overall, as someone who’s been part of the BL fandom for a long time, I’d rate My Golden Blood a 4.5/10. It's a huge disappointment with a lot of missed opportunities.
I won’t be rewatching it ever, it really felt like a waste of time.

Great Disappointment
The show began with a strong opening episode that was interesting, sophisticated, and intriguing. But after just a few episodes, the plot stagnated into what felt like a mediocre university BL drama, with unremarkable side characters and little substance. By the time the story circles back to the main plot, it feels weak, inconsistent, and disappointingly predictable. Even the supposed plot twists come off as dull.The central vampire storyline is mostly present in name only. There’s no real exploration of the concept, and the whole vampire theme, especially the idea of “Golden Blood”, adds little to no value. Very little is said or done with these elements. Instead, the series focuses almost entirely on Mark and Ton’s love story, which unfolds like any other typical university BL, complete with the cliché beach trip.
What’s especially disappointing is the lack of development for the two prominent side characters. Tonkla (played by Neo) is a wasted opportunity, his character has no depth, no personality, and no meaningful role in the story. He simply appears at the right moments to be manipulated and drive the plot forward, only to be discarded or forgotten in the next episode. There is no evolution or growth whatsoever. I genuinely feel bad for Neo, this role gave him nothing to work with, not even a proper love arc.
Nakan, on the other hand, is positioned as a manipulative, cruel villain, but he barely appears. When he does, he feels more like a cartoon villain than a real threat. Later, it’s revealed that he has an emotional motivation behind his actions, but that storyline is never developed. Most viewers likely missed that his “special one” was also a Golden Blood victim, and we don’t even get a flashback or memory to support that plot point.
One thing that stood out to me is that neither Nakan nor Tonkla had a romantic arc. I wonder whether they were originally meant to be the second couple, and that storyline was later scrapped or rewritten, which would explain the lack of cohesion and depth, wich both characters share. After all, both actors were heavily featured in the promotional posters, which doesn’t reflect their minor and underdeveloped roles in the series. Just a theory.
In the end, I found myself dragging through each episode, just trying to finish the series, but it honestly wasn’t worth it. I would have preferred something like Kidnap, where even though the plot goes off track, the acting and character development keep you engaged. Unfortunately, this seems to be becoming a pattern with GMM shows: great trailers, promising casts, strong first episodes, and then everything falls apart. I really hope they improve the quality of storytelling and narrative in future projects.

Predictable trope and climax yet powerful acting and chemistry. It was a rollercoaster full of sadness, happiness, some funny scenes and most importantly the NCs. Jossgawin chemistry did not disappoint however i wish they could have gotten a better story lien to show their acting. Gawin has done BL after a very long time ad this show was kinda not at par with his potentiality.Hope to see them again very soon.
Great one time watch.
