Give it a chance Please!

It’s a really good BL I’ve been watching and being fan of BL, for over 10 years I’ve seen every single type there is and I’m telling you this one is worth watching, not only does the cast is really talented but it’s really weird to find bls with this type of stories and the few they are are not that good but this one is really good it dosent emphasize the vampire stuff that much so it’s okay cause it focuses more on the romance also it has character development and it takes it time is not so fast forward as others, for me it’s a 10/10 just watch till 3 and you’ll see believe me! So obssesed!!!

meaning in a meaningless existence

I love this show so much, my lord. I would recommend it 100%. I ended up giving this a 9 out of 10. I think that this show was fantastic, and I finished it so long ago, I am just so lazy and forget to write reviews. So y'all know the drill, what I liked, what I didn't like, a little overview, and then my final thoughts. So yeah, let's get into it (peep spoiler time lmao).

I thought the plot of this show started off okay, and then it got really good. I enjoyed how they developed the show more and more as the episodes continued. The characters from the start were fantastic, especially all my vampires, immaculate casting, because god damn. The movements, the acting, the weird twilight vibe to it, I loved it. So this is the first thing that I have seen Joss in, and he and those sleepy eyes lured me all the way in. I think that his acting is good, and it was fantastic whenever he had to play the "vampire" part. Specifically, anytime that Tong's blood or sweat came into play, he got so into that, and it was truly great. On the other hand, I think that Gawain did an amazing job as well, but I also love him so much, no matter what he does. Tong's whole character had the most development, and my husband did a good job playing the "innocent character." What else? I liked their chemistry; it felt very mature and was very nice to watch. THOSE SEX SCENES. OH MY LORD. THAT WAS AMAZING. The lightning, the music, everything. Yeah, I might just be a big fan of vampire shit, but I had a lot of fun watching this, and I am rewatching right now. Also, I want to highlight the end of episode 8, that sex scene marked the change in their dynamic. It went from predator and prey to predator and "and what?" What that means is that it went from being hunted and scared to kind of like a playful dynamic, and I messed with this. The way Tong forced Mark to face the blood so they could continue having sex and also their relationship, was so HOTTTT and fantastic. Yeah, I also liked Mond's character, especially towards the end. Like he was never a good guy and they didn't even try to make him one lmao. I liked the end and how the cycle continued; that was fantastic and a great way to do it. There's probably more, but that is all for now.

What I did not like. Well, I did enjoy the ending of them living together for the rest of eternity, but I did not like THAT THEY FUCKING KILLED EVERYONE. Like tonkla gets clapped by Nakan, and then Tara died, the flower lady, and then Nakan, all in a 20-minute span. My lord, they did not need to do that. Miserable. I also did not like Tonkla's character. I think that he was such a fucking opposition the ENTIRE TIME. Like, there's a reason Tong did not tell you ANYTHING you are out to get him. I enjoyed the golden aspect a lot, but that got so cringe in some parts, and it made me want to die. Also, the plot for the first 4-ish episodes. I don't want to be that person, but it's my marker, everything before their kiss scene and their first sex scene was ass. ASS I TELL YOU. I understand they were trying to set everything up, but it was so unbelievably boring, I had to stop watching this shit. But it got better, but tough watch at first. THE SINGING FUCKK NOOOO. G, we know you can sing, but fuck off, it was in such random parts that it made it unbearable. Also, the fact that Mark has been protecting Tong since he was a baby was also kind of weird, but that's fine. Yeah, I think that's all.

OVERVIEW TIMEEEE. The fact that when he bleeds, he gets hunted is geniuely mortifying. Pretty good setup at first. The good vampire bad vampire shit was like Twilight lmao. Took me so long to finish/write this review. I started in high school, and now I am writing the review in college. Scary stuff. The casting was great. This show was also pretty fun in parts, and it was good. Tong is a dumb ass. "I would follow Joss to the ends of the earth, bro." Pride and Prejudice reference was PEAK. Tomato juice. "I [would] watch out for those neck kisses because he's a fucking vampire, you dumb shit, clearly, bro did not have his brain screwed on tight." JERK OFF SCENE WAS CRAZYYYYY. I was like Why does he keep cutting him when they kiss? IT'S BECAUSE HIS SALVIA MAKES HIS TEETH COME OUT, STUPIDDDD. G's eyelashes are so sexy. "[G] eyelashes are the most distracting thing in the whole show behind his sexy abs and Joss's abs." KLA GOT CLAPPED AND MOND HAS THE SEXIEST FACE EVER. A 10/10 twist from this show because I lowkey didn't expect it. "A couple of years versus an eternity, and those couple of years changed his eternity forever." Good ending.

Okay, and yeah. I think this was overall a good show with some flaws, but I am on my 3rd rewatch, so that should tell you everything that you need to know lmao. Okay bye!

I don’t even know what to say...

If I had 10 cents for every time I wanted to DNF this series, I'd have a thousand cents in my PayPal account!
Sigh.
I feel some type of way…
I am disappointed.
Maybe it’s my mood?Maybe it’s work? Maybe it’s cause I’m thirsty?
I don’t even know.
This is like sitting down to eat the fruit salad I normally enjoy, but instead, I was served random ingredients mixed with cream and ice cream. I reluctantly ate it all because I knew my favorite fruits (strawberries) were in there somewhere, as long as I kept digging around for them.
I guess I should get to the series ha? Yeah, well that is something, and it can’t be denied that watching this is certainly an experience - Positive, negative, annoying, funny, stupid...somehow.
I’m waffling, thinking about fruit salad or whatever, but the truth is that I really don't have any strong opinions about this show. Mostly just bemused annoyances. I think I’m probably being too critical, because I didn’t even dislike this. Don’t get me wrong, it started well at first, but my enthusiasm quickly faded ( I want to listen to Faded...I'm faded, I'm faded. So lost, I'm faded, I'm faded. So lost, I'm faded).
Maybe I’m just annoyed because I thought the plot was doing one thing when actually just ended up doing another. I would say this was more of an romance serials sparkled with some very not hungry vampires.
I love vampire stories. I love romantic stories. I love vampires romantic stories. So, by the same logic, I should have liked show. If the universe was fair and rational, I would have loved it and given it ten stars. But it she is not fair.

But this series was not:
- funny
- scary
- compelling
- exciting
- populated by lovable characters (there was one and they killed him.)
It was:
- predictable
- the kind of clichés that feels like a trick
- centered the most boring one the romance I have ever watched
- sad yes, but mostly just exhausting
- this one was simply just too darn slow for me.
This is a sweet, hot, tiresome lengthy story.
Mark is basically a Rome god and Tong is basically Sleeping Beauty or something. OK, fine, one years ago, we all swoon for hot handsome engineers. Today, we swoon for hot vampire who have a personality and does not drink the golden blood.I guess my cynicism is showing.

Okay enought with the negative.
I'm a fan of the opening song. I love it. There is some sort of magic in this song. I am so obsessed with it. I could listen to it all day.

Тhis show just is not for me. But if this one has caught your eye, don't let my opinion sway you. So many people have loved this series and I’m just really sad I couldn’t. I started out expecting to love this story.

Final
The series started with a bang, but ended with a dang.Thank God it's over.

give it a chance

Don’t let the overall low score and bad reviews keep you from trying this. It is so good. The chemistry is off the charts. And while the story feels familiar, there were several moments where plot twists had me gasping. I laughed, I swooned, I cried rivers. We’re there bad effects and things left unexplained? Yeah. Do I care? No. Because I was entertained. Did it take way too long (almost the whole series) to explain the significance of Tong turning 21, after mentioning that they just had to wait for him to turn 21 every 5 seconds? Just for them to not wait til he turned 21? YES! Do I care? maybe a little. BUT those ending plot twists man! Didn’t see them coming. maybe I should have. But I didn’t. And I’m glad.

BLOOD

My Golden Blood is a vampiric BL fantasy that’s campy, sensual, and irresistibly melodramatic—packed with intense chemistry between Joss Way-ar (Mark) and Fluke Gawin Caskey (Tong), layered with supernatural intrigue and just enough humor to lighten the gothic tension.

Mark, a 200-year-old vampire heir, discovers Tong—a naive, rare “golden blood” individual whose scent attracts vampires. He protects him from rivals (including cousin Nakan), battling his own bloodlust while their bond deepens. A standout twist: Tong, thought to have hemophilia, learns his blood is coveted—and he becomes strong and confident through Mark’s protection

If you're here for sizzling supernatural romance, dramatic flair, and unapologetic fanservice—My Golden Blood delivers in droves. It’s over-the-top, sexy, and sometimes cheesy, but driven by superb lead performances and heartfelt emotion. Ignore the CGI quibbles (unless you're a perfectionist) and let yourself be swept up in this gothic BL romp.

A Classic Vampire Romance with Abundant Twists & Turns!!

This is it! This is the time for the verdict.

I’ve been waiting for “My Golden Blood” since it was announced in 2023. The pilot trailer was chef’s kiss, and as a die-hard vampire lore enthusiast, I was buzzing. Now that I’ve devoured all twelve episodes (more than once, mind you), here’s my final, fang-filled verdict.

Not Everyone’s Cup of (Blood) Tea

Let’s be clear: this show is not for everyone. It’s camp, melodramatic, sometimes gloriously over-the-top, and sprinkled with Bollywood-esque flair. There are mixed reviews, and that’s fair—each to their own. But for me? I absolutely loved it, and here’s why.

A Bollywood-ish BL Done Right

Before you scoff or snort at the heading, I will tell you how endearing I find the love for melodrama among the Indian and Thai fiction media! And the plot and tropes of My Golden Blood reminded me of Bollywood films for that reason.

My Golden Blood is a beautifully chaotic cocktail of action, pining, dramatic face-offs, bad guy-bashing, and a reunion that makes your heart do somersaults. It’s quite unlike anything GMMTV has dared before, and for that, the entire team deserves a standing ovation.

Bringing in director Ark Saroj was nothing short of divine intervention. His keen eye for symbolism (those black and white dream sequences are brilliant!) and his photographer’s sensibility shine through every frame. Each shot is meticulously crafted: the lighting, the atmosphere, the editing—top-notch.

Twilight in Thai Version but better then the original

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the voices comparing mgb to Twilight. I really had hopes for this bl that it would go for a less cuddly vampire portrayal than the previous vampire bl. This has largely materialised.

Story: Rather mediocre until the inbuilt plot twist. I liked some of the character dynamics and would have liked more screentime from nakkan and kla for example. A second couple (especially ‘villain’ and friend and how the characters influence and develop each other) would have been good for the story. I didn't like how the plot twist was resolved at the end, it was rather clumsy.

Acting: The acting of the main characters was consistently good to very good.

I would like to emphasise the theme tune. A great song. And the harmony between JossGarwin is great, enhances everything again. Also, despite my disappointment (maybe my expectations were too high), I think this BL is worth seeing. It's a bit darker than the others in the genre, but not yet the way I like it. What is not yet can still be, I am eagerly awaiting ReVamp.

Twilight called and it wants its dignity back!!

I am no Stephenie Meyer, but compared to Golden Blood, Twilight did a pretty solid job, seemed more coherent than this and that alone should tell you everything you need to know about this drama.

Let’s start from the beginning. I was genuinely excited for this series. I waited eagerly for GMMTV to announce the slot, and the first few episodes didn’t disappoint. They were campy and kitschy in a fun, entertaining way, you know the kind of over-the-top storytelling that didn’t take itself too seriously and had great chemistry to carry it.

But here is the thing, we have come a long way with fantasy genre. Even supernatural world need logic (atleast some), some basic rules that make sense within the world they have built. Vampires don’t follow human logic, sure I agree, but their world should still have some kind of structure.
For example : when a human discovers vampires exist, the natural reaction should be fear, suspicion, or at the very least curiosity. You run, you hide, you maybe go home and do a little research. What you don’t do is fratenize with them five minutes later. I missed the whole chase and run aspect of a forbidden romance.

The whole "vampire lore" felt dull and dry. I am a sucker for supernatural romances but this went from campy to sometimes uncomfortable to watch real quick!

As the drama went on, the characters just started acting... weird. Their decisions didn’t make much sense and their emotions seemed to flip on and off like a switch. One minute they are scared, the next they are head over heels, with zero explanation. One moment one tries to kill the other and the next moment they are hot and heavy for each other.

The twists didn’t feel justified and they just kind of happened, like the writers were tossing in drama for the sake of it. It all started to feel really random and by the end, none of it came together in a way that made sense. Whatever logic the show had in the beginning clearly checked out halfway through and what was left was just an unintentionally cringey mess.

Coming to the romance, I could definitely see the chemistry between Joss and Gavin. Their NC scenes were a standout, just the right amount of spice and visually on point. But was that enough to save this sinking ship? Sadly No. Hot leads can't save a cold script.

And I am all for unique character quirks, but Mark’s obsession with Tong’s sweat (!?) was borderline gross. I get it, everyone has got their "thing", but maybe let’s stick to “you smell nice” instead of “your post workout musk drives me wild.”

The supporting character arcs (especially Nakan and Tonkla) had such a strong start. But somewhere along the way, in an attempt to make their journeys feel more “unpredictable” or shocking, the writing took a sharp 180°.
What we ended up with felt less like organic growth and more like a complete rewrite. It was jarring, almost as if we were suddenly watching entirely different characters. The emotional consistency and depth that made them compelling in the beginning got lost in the twist for the sake of surprise.

As for the acting, I’ve seen Gavin’s work before and I know he can act very well, but this script gave him nothing to work with. If anything, it dragged him down. Joss, on the other hand was a mixed bag. I haven’t seen him in anything else, so I want to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Maybe with a tighter script and better direction, he could show some range.

Also, I never knew budget could be a problem for GMMTV. Those golden lenses looked like they came straight from the bargain bin, you know buy 1 get 1 free thing. And the special effects just looked childish at times. I know Joss and Gavin are very easy on the eyes but this was a supernatural series, that is not the only visual we needed. They could have just polished that a bit.

Overall, this was the classic example of writing being the weakest link and everything had to suffer because of it. This show made me miss the sparkly vampires. I will not recommend this unless you want to watch it for the leads. But I would rather recommend watching YouTube shorts or instagram reels of them, things would make more sense there.

My Golden Blood

My Golden Blood is sweet, fun, and full of feels. Gawin as Tong is absolutely lovable, and Joss plays the perfect quiet protector. Their chemistry is so natural it had me smiling the whole time and falling for them. The “golden blood” twist adds a light fantasy vibe without overcomplicating things. It’s a short series, but the emotional moments really land. Honestly, I wish it was longer — I already miss them 💛

the main couple has A LOT of chemistry

Tong, a young man who believes he has hemophilia, but actually possesses a rare and potent "golden blood" that vampires find irresistible. The series follows his encounter with Mark, a centuries-old vampire who is tasked with protecting Tong from other vampires who crave his blood. As they navigate the dangers and complexities of this supernatural world, their relationship evolves from a protector-protected dynamic to a romantic one. -The series is good. of course the cgi is not the best but i fell in love with the couple and just ignored that. the storyline is not bad either, i enjoyed watching the series, that was fun.

I’m a sucker for vampire stories, so of course this series caught my attention. But right from the first episode, it was crystal clear that it wouldn’t be your typical vampire story and that the real focus would be the love story between two lonely souls: Mark, a vampire who’s never known love or found purpose in life, and Tong, a naïve orphan whose world is completely upended as he approaches his 21st birthday. From there, the story unfolds with themes of friendship, loyalty, love, growth, and betrayal.

It was truly beautiful to watch Mark start to discover feelings and emotions he’d never experienced before and see Tong grow and realize he was stronger than he ever imagined.

Joss and Gawin were such a pleasant surprise. Their chemistry is absolutely spot on. They feel so natural together that makes it effortless to believe in Mark and Tong’s relationship. Every scene flows smoothly, never feeling staged or awkward. Plus, both of them exude an insane amount of sensuality, and they mastered non-verbal communication like no one else.
The supporting cast was incredible, but I have to give special praise to Um Apasiri Nitibhon for her portrayal of K’Thara. She brought the perfect villain to life. And lastly, this series has one of the most stunning OSTs I’ve ever heard. It had me hooked from the start with its romantic opening theme, perfectly delivered by Gawin Caskey. But honestly, every song is beautiful, which is rare.
