The Series That Kidnapped My Time
The series kicks off with a solid premise: Min, struggling to pay for his brother’s medication, is hired to kidnap Q, the son of a police officer. But when he’s ordered to kill Q, Min can’t follow through due to his morals. Instead, he takes Q to his house to hide him, and over time, the two begin to develop feelings for each other. But here's the thing—the show completely loses its way after that. The plot, which is supposed to revolve around the kidnapping, practically disappears. The entire kidnap angle becomes irrelevant, and the story shifts into a strange, meandering romance. If I have to watch one more intense stare between them for ten minutes, I might actually lose it and take my eyes out. It’s like the entire show is just a long, drawn-out stare-fest. Where’s the substance? Where’s the plot?
GMMTV seems to think that just having a sweet romance is enough, but they’ve completely neglected the core premise of the series. The kidnapping plot is practically non-existent, and what’s worse is that it’s treated like an afterthought. It was a half-baked attempt at best, especially in the first half. Honestly, I stopped watching after episode 8, so maybe the second half was even worse. What was GMMTV thinking?
The characters were a major letdown. There’s zero development—Min and Q feel flat, one-dimensional, and their actions never align with the tone of the show. Min, in particular, was just ridiculous. His obsession with protecting Q, keeping him safe, and creating this "safe" sleeping environment was so over-the-top. Don’t even get me started on the sleepwalking antics—it was just silly. As for Q, the guy couldn’t act. I know it was his first series, but the difference in his acting abilities was painfully obvious. His character was supposed to be this rich, spoiled brat, but I honestly couldn’t figure out who he was supposed to be. Or maybe I just didn’t care enough to bother. Min’s brother, meanwhile, had a small storyline, but honestly, I forgot about it. Instead of being fully developed, he was mostly there to prop up Min’s relationship with Q. I would’ve much rather seen more of their brotherly dynamic, but that was barely explored. Q's relationship with his father was strained and, frankly, ridiculous at times. However, the father did show some cleverness in certain parts of the series, which was the only redeeming aspect of the series.
By the end, I was just frustrated. The plot, the character growth—it all fell apart. The pacing was painfully slow, and the script felt lifeless and predictable. There was so much wasted potential here. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this show to anyone.
Let me throw some hot, scalding tea at GMMTV. Maybe, just maybe, they'll realize that a solid plot and substance should come before endless romance scenes. They focus so much energy on the couple that they forget about the actual storyline. Don’t get me wrong, I like the couple—but if I wanted to watch two guys staring at each other for 12 episodes, I’d just scroll through TikTok. At least there, I’d get some variety.

A story of love and found family
Kidnap is without a doubt one of the most striking and innovative titles offered by GMMTV. In addition, it offers a new cast with the debut of Leng Thanaphon, accompanied by the already known Ohm Pawat.I understand that many thought it could be a dark story, considering that it arises from a kidnapping. However, they show us the funny coexistence between Min (the kidnapper who is bad at his job, but would do anything to help his sick brother) and Q (the young spoiled millionaire who has emotional wounds).
The background story may seem a little weak, since the main thing here is the love between the protagonists! (duh, Boys Love). They inevitably fall in love, but Q is in constant danger and the last thing Min wants is to put at risk the only family he has: his brother. That's where the dilemma begins, Min who was only dedicated to protecting his brother, can be selfish and choose Q's love? On the other hand, Q is a neglected child with some poorly treated PTSD (?) and insomnia disorder, who finally finds the company that was always denied to him.
Ohm Pawat continues to give a lecture on being one of the best actors in GMMTV and a great support for a rookie like Leng. Q is a very complex character who has to convey a lot of emotions, sometimes he gets it right and sometimes he falls short, but hey! He's a rookie and he's doing well for his first time.
I recommend watching this series with a very open mind, it may not be for everyone but if you're a romance lover, this is something very good to watch on a Friday night.

Storyline
I was mad on Bls when I first started watching them butthe story's are starting to be repetitive in other words the same storylines. Kidnap I watched because I like Ohm. I wish they would give him meatier roles. He's got the making of being a really good actor and should be given a chance to show how good he is and his new partner Leng is also really good. I first watched him in bad buddy with Nanon.. a great series. Im enjoying
this series so far.

The best romantic bl
I love the series, even though the budget and production is low but the actors are doing a good job. Leng is still but ohm professionalism compliments him. I love them, you guys should keep it hopefully next series will have a good budget . Kidnap is one of those unique bl that you can actually relate with, I find it very comforting and lovely. I can't wait to watch rest of the episode. Was this review helpful to you?
only reason i'm still watching is for ohm
i went into this with a very different idea of how it would be executed. honestly i know that Ohm is a really good actor, so i wasn't expecting to be this disappointed 😭 the idea is really good, and i think they could develop a lot more on Q's childish character due to the fact that he may have had a majority of his childhood taken away from him, and when he finally has someone who cares for him like family would, he clings to them (i'm talking about min).i think personally, i don't like shows that focus on the romance more than the main plot. GMMTV really fell off in the past two years and the last shows i really liked from them were Not Me and Bad Buddy. or maybe its just that they're not making shows my type, but all the shows they're making have the same cliche scenes and similar plot lines - one character has a traumatic past and meets other character who makes them open up and then they both fall in love.
overall, the scriptwriting is actually pretty good compared to the quality of the show, but there are some really weird lines. idk how to say it but something about this show is just not good. the acting, i feel, especially leng's, doesn't match the romantic scenes. they do well in other ones but they just look like 🙂 the entirety of the romance scenes. the 6th episode looks kind of better but i'm so close to quitting this show because i want them to focus more on the whole drug trafficking, bribery, and gang plot more than the romance, but ig the show is just not made for that 🥲

Way better than expected
I end up dropping a lot of dramas, especially BLs, but this is one of the rare ones I finished. I went in expecting it to be not great based on comments and reviews but I was pleasantly surprised.I really love the characters and found them well-rounded. They had good development and amazing chemistry. They were adorable and I was constantly smiling watching them. The story is engaging and deals with trauma in a way that’s actually realistic. It’s one of the few dramas I’ve seen that shows you have to really consistently work to get through trauma. It doesn’t just disappear once you fall in love. The character actually went to therapy too which pretty much never happens in these series.
The humor here is actually subtle and not the usual slapstick stuff so it really worked for me. No annoying characters here.
I would urge you to try this drama yourself and not assume it’s bad based on others’ opinions. Were some parts unrealistic? Sure. But what dramas don’t have such parts? Anyway, it’s been yearsss since I wrote a review so idk how good this is hahaha.

Garbage.
Love the actors but a what waste series. Garbage! Poor plot and writing. Even if u skipped dialogues, you will not missed anything. I just watch it for the sake of FOMO. I wish it was emotion grounded like blue canvas of youthful days since the title is kidnap, i hope they gave us more genuine raw emotion and what was the worst was that the nonsense music ground. Hate it.Was this review helpful to you?
Adequate Not Mind Blowing
This is the simplest of stories and oh so predictable.I am not an OhmNanon fan because though I loved Bad Buddy and Ohm's chemistry with Nanon as a whole. I don't get their fanbase being so into them as a ship because Ohm is a serial shipper. He has never worked with the same actor more than once aside from Toey (MAKE IT RIGHT and its sequels) and Nanon if you count Vice Versa and Our Skyy 2. But Vice Versa wasnt their BL per se. That was technically JIMMYSEA.
In 2019 Ohm did a move called Dew The Movie in which his partner was Nont and I loved the movie though it was sad.
Make it Right came before Dew The Movie.
He went on to He's Coming To Me with Singto (also 2019) The Shipper (2020) and then Bad Buddy (2021) and sorta reunited with Nanon for Vice Versa (2022) and Our Skyy 2 (Bad Buddy Revisit) so technically they did work together again before the epic blowout that quickly ended their "ship" or whatever.
Then Ohm went non BL with 10 Years Ticket, Double Savage, Wednesday Club and My Precious.
And that brings us to OhmLeng and Kidnap: The Series his foray back to BL. Do they have chemistry (sure) Ohm has no problem with chemistry in most cases but the story is lackluster for me but it's not terrible. A non high school, non university BL is good. Yet I won't ship OhmLeng until they do at least 1 more series playing different characters like other GMMTV ships like EARTHMIX, JIMMYSEA, PONDPHUWIN, GEMINIFOURTH and so on.
Ohm is a serial partner switcher and has chemistry with all his past partners and it's no different with Leng but will it continue or does a slew of non BL series follow again. Either way Ohm is always watchable.
Not much of a review for Kidnap The Series so I'll conclude with this. Sure it's worth the watch at least once,

I'm Sad
God I hoped this show would be good regardless of the reviews and comments, I really love Ohm and I hadn't watched any shows with him in it after Bad Buddy, I know he's been in other shows after that but they hadn't caught my eye so this was the one. But I'm disappointed, not towards the actors ofc but GMMTV. This story was extremely weak, and let me tell you with some changes, well a lot of changes here and there this story could've been A HIT. The plot has so many holes in it I can see through it, it's so predictable and childish, not realistic at all and not entertaining. I forced myself to watch because I was wishing it got better but it never did. The romance and chemistry was good, but not the best, I feel it could've been better but I also feel the story being this bad caused the chemistry between the 2 characters to look weak and lack as well. I just can't help but drop this show, I see no point in continuing something I can probably predict and won't enjoy. I feel bad honestly, I really wanted this to be good. But I see theres more shows where Ohm and Leng will be in so I'm hoping those do better than this one.Was this review helpful to you?

Another Stockholm Syndrome Plot
I wish a story like this had not been produced. It is a wrong message that got twisted into a pretzel trying to make it feel and turn out respectable. I am sorry but it should not have. Someone was kidnapped at gun point, threatened, tied up, terrorized, and almost killed. And then the victim falls in love with his captor. This is another version of the ‘Stockholm Syndrome’. Yes, of course, the story is more complicated than this. But then again, it really is not. The story gets convoluted and endlessly waxes and wanes between ridiculous plots and scenarios. I cannot say anything bad about the acting. Was this review helpful to you?
