feels like one long movie

you know the feeling movies give you? like there is this special feeling that it's gonna end soon and it actually does but here we have the feeling but not the ending fast part. I really loved it and it was really nice the storyline was really good but it sometimes got me boring but overall it's really nice I really loved his relationship with his brother I think that was my fav part and how there is actually some meanings behind it and depth I found it really really nice and it made me cry I always thought his brother is boring or weird for not having any interests or his own personality but finding out that he decided to make his brother his only goal made me cry and it was so emotional for me. my second fav thing was the main couple I loved them and I love how they were different but still went so good tgt they were so cute. my third fav things would be her relationship with her parents I was really annoyed about the father dayghter relationship I thought It was all so much and she was overreacting I mean I completely understand how she was feeling after all she was still a kid but I felt like the dad could've done better and wasn't absent sm and she could've understood him better and I loved how at the last episode she just realised that she has a mother and started acknowkging her and her love for her. now the second lead couple were my least favourite thing they actually annoyed me SO MUCH everytime they were on screen I was like UGH I love both actors so much but they were so incompatible she's such a baddie and he's lowkey a loser who is so insecure and his ego is big like how can u love ur self and hate ur self so much at the same time IM SO GLADDDD they didn't end up together OK thanks guys BTW THE MUSIV WAS SO GOOD THE OST ATEEE

Very Heart Warming drama

Finally I find my kind of drama in 2025, very gentle, warm yet deep story. The storyline takes a part in relationships and uses the full spectrum new love, after love, familial love, grief and heartbreak. This show will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. For viewers who like cheerful, dynamic vibes, heart fluttering humor and romance, Melomovie is not your cup of tea, I think you will be really bored at the start. However for me this show got 10/10 cause the Naturalistic story telling and relatable romance

Not like most K dramas!

Fun and intriguing! Not like most K dramas with the same plot over and over again. Acting is so good and the storyline is perfect, the humor makes this show complete! The directing is so good I’m so happy I found this show! There is more meaning and depth into the storytelling and I appreciate that! It’s not a show that’s easy to predict what will happen which most k dramas are and make them boring. Go watch it !

clever, witty, tender and full of LOVE!!!

"The light in the darkness. That's what movies were to me. Inside a simple, square shaped light, anything was possible. It made me feel as if I could do anything. But the world outside of movies...was always harsh and burdensome. There were no well crafted plots or heartwarming lines. Life was just lonely and desolate. That's when someone showed up. Kim Mubee."

Melo Movie has a perfect setup, starts things off with a romance that quickly withers before blooming. It's a simple but stunning story about love: romantic, brotherly, platonic, the love that shapes us, the love we take for granted, the love we have to let go of. There's also grief, plenty of it, warmth, and compassionate understanding. The writing is both razor sharp and beautiful. It is also visually appealing: pastel and neon brightness matching its overall sunny tone.

The cast is superb as well, particularly Park Bo Young in a new kind of role. She sometimes felt burdened by her cheerful image. I can't wait to see her take on more challenging roles.

Slow and smokin'

There's a moment in the film where Mu Bi reflects on her father's film making career: his films were really boring and she wasn't quite sure with his story telling exactly what he wanted to say.

I feel this summed up this drama quite well. I wasn't quite sure what it wanted to say and at times I lost interest and stopped watching it. It had enough going for it for me to see it through but by end of it all, I still wasn't sure what it was that I had just watched.

I guess it's roughly themed around second chances, those that work out, those that don't, and those that are taken from you. I'm guessing the overall theme was something like , life is a journey and each person must live it their own way. Actually, I think one of the characters says something like that and it becomes a poignant moment of realisation that we are not responsible for everything that happens to other people.

I love the actors, they all did a great job. The chemistry between the second leads feels sparky, the main leads, it feels a little flat, I wasn't convinced despite both being great actors.

My big pet peeve of this drama though has to be the product placement. There was a lot of vaping, a lot of smoking. I was really shocked, in my country you can't portray young people smoking to look cool - it's considered really inappropriate. Same with the drinking - there's a couple of times where the beer label is really obviously flicked to the camera so we can notice the brand.

I guess I'm a bit old fashioned in that I don't like the alcohol or smoking industry trying to subtly influence young people to drink or smoke.

Overall, it's a pleasant enough way to spend the evening and enjoy some well known faces. Go in with low expectations and you might find yourself enjoying some of the slower and sweeter moments as well as the overall relaxed vibe.

A must- watch

It's been a while since I felt sad after ending a drama, and this drama revived this feeling in me. It's a feel-good drama that can also evoke a bit of sadness. I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions while watching it. Honestly, I wasn't very intrigued by this drama at first. The first episode was decent, but I wasn't particularly impressed. I probably wouldn't have continued watching it if I hadn't decided to give it a chance because of the cast (Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, and Lee Jun Young). I'm glad I did, as it turned out to be a masterpiece.

The OST is fantastic, especially the song "Surfing in the Moonlight." It really hooked me; I just love it! The music composition is top-notch, and the lyrics are so cute. There’s no doubt about the quality of the vocals—they're the best.

Everyone involved in this drama worked hard, and their efforts paid off.

Depth Beneath the Surface: A Drama That Surprises You

I'd rate this a weak 9. The beginning was slow, and the romantic chemistry wasn’t great at first. Most of the characters initially seemed quite unappealing.

However, as their backstories and inner thoughts were revealed, everything started to fall into place, improving my impression significantly. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a drama with such well-written, deeply developed characters. Even minor roles, like the director and the older brother, had depth, making them more likable over time.

Although I usually focus on female actors, I enjoyed the performances of most of the cast, including several male actors. he male lead felt pretty average to me, but his brother and the secondary male lead, for example, delivered strong performances among the male actors.

Plot – Melo Movie follows a group of people who grew up during the golden era of the movie industry—when films became affordable and widely accessible to the public through VHS and other media. Now, as adults, they strive to make a name for themselves in the industry while navigating everyday challenges, including relationships, family issues, and personal struggles.

Genre – Romance, Family, Melo

cozy kdrama for slow watchers

Most of the people who enjoyed this kdrama Did watch it slowly It's just then episodes , but i've been watching it for like a month Some people think it's boring I don't know if I agree or disagree At the beginning, it was fun.But then I started To rethink if I want To finish it or not It's understandable if someone thinks it Boring
1- story
The story is unique I don't think that I saw something similar. The problem is there is a lot of things that doesn't make sense For example the second couple Why would they make a whole storyline About their breakup and how each one understands its mistakes but they don't get back together like it doesn't make sense also le male lead why would he giving up his love for movies at the end doesn't make sense so even though it's a unique story but the ending is frustrating
2- casting/ acting
perfection each actor suited his character so well so I don't have a lot to say
3- music
not but but since there is a part of this movie that talks about a producer and his dream to make his music successful it's expected to do more specially at the end they didn't highlight the music he made for the movie + I can't remember any ost from this kdrama and I just finished it I don't remember thinking it's trashy music when I heard it it just not stuck in my head
4- rewatch value
I don't think this kdrama has a high rewatch value in fact I don't think that I would watch again but i gave 1.5 stars for rewatch value because some people might want to rewatch it since its not a bad kdrama
final thoughts:
as I said earlier it's a not bad it's actually good very good but not great there is some fun moment there is some emotional moments I honestly cried watching some episodes but it's missing excitement it's missing an actual plot
so over all it's a 6/10 .

Time I'll never get back

This is just my personal opinion, please don't come at me. I will say, I was one of the few that didn't like My Beloved Summer at all - if you liked that show, you will probably like this. It had the same feel.

My biggest problem with this show is that I found it extremely boring. I was mad at myself throughout for being someone that has to finish things I start, because dropping this show was something I should have done.

I love Choi Woo Shik, but I didn't buy him in this role at all. I spent a lot of time thinking that he was miscast. I struggled with Park Bo Young (another actor that I really like). I just felt like she wasn't committed to the role, or didn't know what to do with it, or something.

So, again, if you watched and liked My Beloved Summer, give this one a try.

Drama: Um Amor de Cinema

Português - BR
Bom, o que dizer? Chato e arrastado.

English:

Well, what can I say? Boring and dragged out. Characters with no charisma, no chemistry, and tedious episodes. I’ll admit I only watched it for the brothers’ storyline. I wanted to stop watching when it (the storyline) ended, but it was left so unresolved that I had to wait for that little crumb in the final episode.

The secondary couple is annoying, and I either felt lazy or fast-forwarded whenever they appeared. Kim Mu Bi’s friend (Woo Jeong Hu) had more chemistry with her boyfriend than she did.

I’m giving it an 8.5/10 because of the brothers. Kim Jae Wook is an amazing actor, and his scenes with Choi Woo Shik are one of the highlights of the series. Too bad there are so few scenes of them acting together.

Español:

Bueno, ¿qué puedo decir? Aburrida y lenta.

All over the place yet still not enough—an interesting premise that fell short of its potential

Melodramas are typically renditions of people's lives—if you will; a slice-of-life styled series with a little more spice. They tend to showcase the true originalities of their characters with pronounced character arcs, strong emotion, and heavy plotlines. At first, 'Melo Movie' is no different—it sets viewers for expectation that it’ll embody these characterizations with grand depth, originality, and a peculiar sense of artisticness, that in this case, would lay bare within its setting of a cinematographic world where two individuals who are trying to redeem themselves of their lost time meet each other before recognition. However, despite its strong start, the show’s mature feel quickly died down, leaving room for empty and whiplash-giving characters, lackluster performance in acting, and predictable plot.

When two unachieved individuals meet while in the time of their life where they are either in constant wait or pursuit for their desires—what kind of fate will their destiny bind them to? Ko Gyeom’s life is shaped by film, as it is within this realm that his dreams take flight and find breath, while Kim Mu-bi’s life revolves around the industry in the sense that her name and her father tie her down to it like a label. Together, their screen time just falls short of what could’ve been a testament to a bittersweet love story. Only the strongest sides to themselves are shared, while their vulnerable sides stay in hiding, pushed away all whilst secretly yearning to be let shine through. Romantic and swoony, its set-up and premise promised ideas that the show did not further develop, and refrained from steeping in themes that were believed to eventually be explored. What had so much potential production-wise quickly lost its grasp on the actual storyline, that winded up on the common ground of typical rom-com territory.

There are many nuances in the characters themselves that stopped the show from curating an immersive vibe. ‘Melo Movie’ felt empty as a whole in consequence to the mismatch between characters’ behaviours and the storyline. The two leads have faced tragic experiences and are yet very emotionally immature, showing only facades of their true selves to the word—Ko Gyeom, forcing himself to play an overly ecstatic role, and Kim Mu-bi an indifferent and unfazed one. It seems like they are living their lives with little effort, and yet things fall so easily into their hands. They have good friends despite not reciprocating smiles or equal amounts of attention, have grand opportunities come their way, and are constantly reluctant to take them despite it supposedly aligning with their goals. Overall, the leads have the allure of dissatisfaction with their lives which is unfitting to the genre and plays no greater role in the story. Additionally, the actors were poorly chosen and cast, and the otherwise renowned actors barely just fit into the characters’ shoes.

‘Melo Movie’ undeniably struggled to find perfect balance in its blend of rom-com and melodrama. The clash between the two genres the show embodied tore its entirety apart into something not bad enough to render it unwatchable, but certainly unmemorable. Melodramas tend to incorporate elements of slowburn, personal growth, and maturity, with elements borrowed from the slice-of-life genre. As for rom-coms, they encompass silliness, unrealistically planned reunions and set ups between characters, and are typically categorized by their overall lighthearted feel. Despite the big, evident differences between both, ‘Melo Movie’ doesn’t recognize itself in either of these categories alone—instead, it binds both together, alternately varying its penchant in genres depending on the different episodes or storylines presented. Since both ideally bring out different emotions and behaviours from the characters, to have a continuous shift between them not only alienates viewers, but also reveals a lack of depth in especially the leads.

The female lead in particular was very frustrating to watch—Kim Mu-bi fell into a constant habit of contradicting herself. Her motives remained unclear and her personality was in constant shift. Mu-bi would always push Gyeom away but became upset when he actually kept his distance or left, as if he owed her any acts of service or explanation for his leave when she had never put any effort at all into the maintenance of their strange, love-hate relationship. Even though she was bothered enough by his abrupt absence to block him from her contacts, she never thought to reach out and ask if he was alright during his leave. When he did come back, she claimed to be very angered and yet her world quickly resumed its revolving of him, and she even took on some rather unhealthily obsessive qualities.

As if there weren’t already enough neglected aspects in the series, to add to the pile of absurdities, viewers are made to believe both leads truly care and have a liking for one another despite putting no effort whatsoever into their relationship. For example, they spent five years without contact even though they had each other’s phone number and knew where to find one other. They seem to have no chemistry, no interest in each other, no problem with separation or keeping things to themselves—the only thing pulling them together is the simple, hollow, and predictable plot. Given the little actual interaction between the leads, it seems that the show’s intent was for the audience to analyze the individuals presented and their behaviours. However, the leads embody an emptiness that renders character analysis impossible to achieve. It seems fair to say the romance has undeniably missed its mark, veering the rest of the show off of course and resulting in an unwatchable mess.
