# **Drama Review: A Heartwarming and Hilarious Family Story**

This drama is an absolute gem! It perfectly blends romance, comedy, and strong family bonds, making it a delightful watch. While every viewer has their own opinions, I personally think this is an underrated masterpiece that deserves more recognition!

## **Story & Direction**
The drama follows the five daughters of the Li family, raised by their wise and loving mother, Madam Li. She moves to Bianjing with one goal—finding suitable matches for them. The story beautifully showcases the sisters’ unbreakable bond and their journey toward love and marriage.

The director did an excellent job balancing screen time among all the couples. Each love story got fair attention, making the drama engaging without favoring any single couple. While some fans wished for more focus on certain characters, I think the pacing was just right!

---

## **The Li Sisters – A Bond of Love & Strength**
One of the best aspects of this drama is the deep sisterhood between the Li daughters. There’s no jealousy or betrayal—just pure love, support, and teamwork. If one of them is in trouble, the others immediately come together to find a solution. Their bond is truly inspiring!

Each sister has a distinct personality:
- **First daughter** – Virtuous, upright, and highly talented.
- **Second daughter** – Humble, proud, and kind-hearted.
- **Third daughter** – Smart, outspoken, and tricky when needed.
- **Fourth daughter** – Naïve, kind, and timid but strong in her own way.
- **Fifth daughter** – Carefree, fierce, and bold, never afraid to stand her ground.

At the heart of this strong family is **Madam Li**, who raised them with wisdom and love. She’s one of the best characters in the drama, guiding her daughters through life’s challenges while ensuring they always have each other’s backs.

---

## **The Couples – A Journey of Love & Growth**
One recurring theme in this drama is that most of the male leads start off as stubborn or arrogant. But don’t worry! Their "jerk phase" is short-lived. They soon realize their mistakes, learn to respect and cherish their wives, and transform into devoted husbands.

### **1st Couple: Du Yang Xi & Shouhua – A Love That Overcomes Obstacles**
At first, Du Yang Xi ignores Shouhua after a last-minute bride swap. However, after she takes care of him during his illness, he begins to trust and love her. Their love story is full of emotional ups and downs, including a heartbreaking divorce. But when the truth is revealed—that he was protecting her—he fights to win her back, proving his love in the most heartfelt way.

### **2nd Couple: Fu Hui & Fan Liang Han – The Chaotic Lovebirds**
This couple is pure comedy! Fan Liang Han is kind but clueless, often giving money away and unintentionally flirting. Naturally, Fu Hui gets furious, leading to hilarious jealousy-driven fights. Despite this, he is a devoted husband who adores his wife and always supports the Li family. The way he is terrified of Fu Hui yet loves her deeply makes their story both funny and sweet!

### **3rd Couple: Master Chai & Kang Ning – The Ultimate Mind Game Duo**
Both are clever and competitive, making their love story a battle of wits. Master Chai falls for Kang Ning’s intelligence and beauty, but misunderstandings and family interference keep them apart. When he gets kidnapped and *forced* to marry her, instead of being upset, he is *thrilled*! From that moment, he becomes the most devoted and affectionate husband in the Li family.

### **4th Couple: Shen & Haode – The Slow-Burn Romance**
Haode is sweet and clingy, while Shen is cold and emotionally distant due to his past. When they marry, he rejects her, breaking her heart. But Haode doesn’t give up. Her patience and kindness slowly melt his icy exterior, turning him into a loving and protective husband. Their slow-burn romance is touching and rewarding to watch.

### **5th Couple: Leshan & Yang Xian – The Funniest, Most Chaotic Pair**
Leshan is fiery and carefree, while Yang Xian is arrogant and spoiled. Their relationship starts off as a rivalry, but when Yang Xian realizes he loves her, he takes drastic measures—*like kidnapping her to stop her wedding!* Their marriage is filled with hilarious fights, but Yang Xian secretly admires her strong personality. He goes through a major transformation to win her heart, proving that he is more than just an arrogant heir.

---

## **The Li Brothers-in-Law – A Legendary Alliance**
One of the funniest aspects of this drama is the **Brother-in-Law Union**—a secret alliance formed by the Li sisters' husbands. Their golden rule?

👉 *"If the wife is angry, the husband must coax her."*
👉 *"No matter how rich or powerful a man is outside, at home, the wife is the boss!"*

These men, despite being influential figures, completely surrender to their wives at home. 😂 Whenever one of them gets into trouble, the others secretly help him without letting their wives know. But if a sister is upset? All the husbands get thrown out of their rooms!

One of the funniest moments is when the fifth brother-in-law, Yang Xian, gets bullied by the others for *kidnapping* Leshan. They make sure he suffers before welcoming him into their alliance. Their bond adds so much comedy and warmth to the show, making them just as lovable as the Li sisters.

---

## **Final Thoughts – A Near-Perfect Drama!**
The only downside is that the ending felt a bit rushed. A few more episodes could have provided a more satisfying closure. However, if it had been dragged out too much, it might have lost its charm. So while the pacing wasn’t perfect, it was still enjoyable.

Overall, this drama is **funny, heartwarming, and beautifully written**. The sisterly bond, the hilarious husbands, and the touching love stories make it a **must-watch**. It’s seriously **underrated** and deserves **higher ratings** and **more views**. If you love family-centered dramas with romance and comedy, **this is the perfect choice!** ❤️✨

Wait… Is it good or bad??

Yeah so today was the drop of the 9 episodes and seeing all the negative and devided views I decided to share my own. I am just explaining everything. I am not biased and definitely not hating. Now that that’s clear let’s begin.

So the story starts with Li family. A mother and her 4 daughter (since the 2nd is married) going to there married daughters home to escape some evil relatives. The story doesn’t delve that deep into their reasons yet. The mother has a concern and that is her daughters marriages and decides to stay in the city. Though they soon realise they lack funds and decide to open a shop. Their they are rivaled by the famous, handsome and influential merchant Chai An who decides to sabotage their business due to some feud between the 2nd daughter and her husband (from the Fan house who is cousin with the influential Chai An). This leads to a feud between the 3rd daughter Kangning and Chai An. Though it is nothing drastic, mostly like a petty competition between kids aka it is hilarious.

The story has a strong start with great humour and after taking its time setting up the stage, it decides to head first into the relationship between Chai An (ML) and KangNing (FL). They start with a growing bag of misunderstandings which were quite justified but then it spirals out of control. So, to make things easy for you and me. Here are the things I like and the flaws I found (personally) :

❤️Likes❤️
✅Music /OST: I loved the outro which has a like Chinese Opera touch to it.
✅Acting: So far the acting, line delivery and actions has been great!
✅Family: Okay so a family of basically 6 members has a lot of personality and the story masterfully delves into each character in a slow pace letting us get used to each one of them.
✅Male Leads: lol what did you expect, I came here for the colourful cast

(Guys, I felt that the misunderstandings were reasonable since the main couple never really talked to each other. They have never talked properly so it is natural to not know the true nature of the other person. Let’s be honest, we all know for the ML it was love at first sight and then he just stuck to it.)

👿Dislikes /flaws👿

❎Lack of pov: So as a wise person said, this drama mostly sticks to the 3rd person view so we don’t delve into any of the characters thoughts. And for me that’s a big flaw. How do I understand what a character feels until you show me. I need to at least see or hear their reactions!
❎Male Lead: Though it is ignorable for me, many people who are more reasonable and wise than me noticed that the ML is really...arrogant and basically a jerk. He keeps troubling the Li family distroying their business all for his...happiness? Satisfaction is the right word. He had thrown a ball at the FL in the start and then just went ahead and ruined the business. Note that this business wasn't affecting him in anyway but ruining the Li's business would leave them homeless and starving. But in episode 9 he became a complete jerk for once. Reminded me of Mr. Darcy(pride and prejudice) tbh.Maybe that's what they are trying to go for but we all know no one can hold a candle to Mr. Darcy. He was better. Let's see how good he becomes by the end.
(Even though I have said all that I did like how he didn't pursue her after realising that she lives in a real world. By no means forgiving him though. He was really a big jerk in ep9)

(But we have like 3 more male leads to go so who knows, maybe you will enjoy them better)
❎Lastly, I feel like the GOOD humour has been lost already. I don’t know if it is just me, but it seems like even though it has like 50 mins/ ep it quickly forgot about the humour. Not a huge problem tbh…

Yeah, but it is not like I hate this drama, I am actually liking it a lot and am enjoying it. I will continue to watch it. Though it might feel like my dislikes are more, but I just felt the need to elaborate on them as to not cause a misunderstanding. Again no hate, their are only 9 episode out so don’t take this as the solid final review. It is just to help you guys sort through your thoughts on watching it or not. But at the end I would say you should watch the drama and formulate your own view point. Peace ✌️✌️✌️

{Edit 1: So guys today I watch ep24 and can I just say I personally love this. The starting few episodes were… disappointing, but after ep 12 the drama gets a grip and does not let it go…yet, fingers crossed! The comedy, perspectives and male leads have improved SIGNIFICANTLY. What I can see is that this drama has a pattern. You WILL hate the MLs (more like 1st and 3rd son-in-law cause they are the ones we have seen yet) at a point, but then you will love them like they are your own sons. So, my new advice is that you preserver through the first few episodes and then you’ll come to love this. (Spoiler: ep9 jerk Chai An has turned into the best boy.) Of course again, it is my own opinion, you all are free to disagree.}

Alright, so I just finished Perfect Match (2025), and while I did enjoy parts of it, I have to be honest—it wasn’t perfect. Don’t get me wrong, the historical setting, the family dynamics, and some of the romances were really fun to watch, but there were definitely some things that bugged me.

First off, the pacing was kind of all over the place. Some episodes were super engaging, while others dragged on forever. Like, do we really need that many side stories? At times, it felt like the main plot took a backseat, and I just wanted them to get to the point already.

Then there’s the romance. Some of the couples were adorable, but others felt rushed. Like, one second they barely know each other, and the next they’re madly in love? Give me some buildup!

Witty, Humorous and Happy

Set in the Song Dynasty, Perfect Match follows the unwavering Madam Li as she embarks on a singular mission: securing the best possible husbands for her daughters—no matter what it takes. Widowed and left to raise five daughters, a son, and an adopted daughter on her own, Madam Li’s resilience is tested time and again. Tragedy strikes when her young son vanishes after an accident, leaving his fate uncertain. To make matters worse, the family is ruthlessly stripped of their home and possessions by greedy relatives.

Rather than succumbing to despair, Madam Li instills in her daughters a sense of unity, independence, and fearlessness—qualities rarely seen in women of their time. Her daughters grow into strong-willed, capable young women, standing in stark contrast to the traditionally meek and homebound women of the era.

Determined to rebuild their lives, Madam Li moves the family to Bianjing (Kaifeng), the capital city, where they start anew. Together, they establish an eatery directly across from the most prestigious restaurant in town. With each daughter contributing her unique skills, their business flourishes, proving that perseverance and family unity can overcome any hardship.

A Mother’s Role in Marriage
In ancient times, a parent’s duty extended beyond raising children—it included arranging advantageous marriages. Madam Li is no exception. However, unlike many parents of the era, she carefully selects husbands who will not only elevate the family’s status but also truly cherish her daughters. The daughters, though dutiful, are not passive in this process; each love story unfolds with mutual admiration and heartfelt connections.

The drama weaves together these individual love stories with humor, charm, and intrigue. As one couple’s journey concludes, they gracefully step into the background, allowing the next romance to take center stage. This seamless transition keeps the narrative fresh and engaging throughout.

Characters and Performances
I have no complaints about the acting—everyone delivers their roles convincingly, and I can’t get enough of the main characters.

Madam Li (Ni Hong Jie) – The Unyielding Matriarch
Madam Li is an extraordinary woman for her time—fierce, shrewd, and devoted to her daughters. Having lost everything to greedy relatives, she rebuilds her life through sheer willpower and business acumen. Despite being known as a "shrew" in her neighborhood, her daughters adore her, returning home often for family reunions—an unusual dynamic in a time when married daughters rarely visited their maternal homes. Their bond is a testament to her unwavering love and sacrifice.

Shou Hua (Liu Xie Ning) – The Strategist
The eldest daughter, Shou Hua, is a widow—intelligent, reserved, and deeply thoughtful. A natural strategist, she offers wise counsel to her sisters. She agrees to remarry as per her mother’s wishes, and fate rewards her with Du Yang Xi (Chen He Yi), a brilliant scholar who tops the imperial examination and rises to prominence as a government official.

Fu Hui (Wu Xuan Yi) – The Matriarch-in-the-Making
Married into a wealthy family, Fu Hui’s husband, Fan Liang Han (Huang Sheng Chi), is naive and childlike, often yielding to her authority. Despite living under her in-laws’ roof, she establishes herself as the true head of the household.

Kang Ning (Lu Yu Xiao) – The Sharp-Tongued Twin
Kang Ning, twin to the lost brother, is quick-witted with a razor-sharp tongue. She clashes with Chai An (Wang Xing Yue), a proud and cunning businessman who owns the rival restaurant across the street. Their fiery banter and stubborn personalities make for an entertaining and endearing romance.

Hao De (Ke Ying) – The Pure-Hearted 4th Child
Unlike her outspoken sisters, Hao De is kind, naive, and sincere. She falls for Shen Hui Zhao (Liang Yong Qi), the stern and incorruptible magistrate of Kaifeng. With numerous enemies plotting against him, Shen vows never to marry, fearing for his wife’s safety. However, Hao De’s unwavering honesty and warmth gradually melt his icy exterior.

Le Shan (Huangyang Tian Tian) – The Fearless Youngest Daughter
Le Shan despises the powerful who prey on the weak. Ironically, she ends up marrying Yang Xian (Winwin), a wealthy man she initially detests. Over time, she discovers his hidden vulnerabilities, and their rocky relationship gradually evolves into a deep and meaningful bond.

The Sons-in-Law Alliance
One of the most enjoyable aspects of Perfect Match is the camaraderie among the sons-in-law. They form their own alliance, frequently gathering at Chai An's restaurant to strategize, support one another, and solve both family and external conflicts. It is deeply satisfying to watch a group of intelligent, upstanding men work together, balancing their individual strengths to navigate the challenges that arise. Their interactions add depth to the drama, showcasing the importance of partnership—not just in marriage, but in brotherhood as well.

My Favorite Son-in-Law: Shen Hui Zhao
Among all the sons-in-law, Shen Hui Zhao stands out as my favorite. As the eldest of the group, he embodies righteousness and unwavering integrity. In court, his cold, unreadable demeanor strikes fear into wrongdoers. Yet, in private, his subtle smirks reveal a hidden tenderness, making his character all the more compelling.

My Favorite Couple: Le Shan & Yang Xian
Every couple in this drama is well-matched, but the most intriguing transformation belongs to Le Shan and Yang Xian. Initially despised by everyone—including the audience—Yang Xian evolves into a devoted and responsible husband, while Le Shan matures into a woman who learns to love and respect him. Their journey is one of the most satisfying arcs in the series.

Final Thoughts
Perfect Match is a refreshing, witty and heartwarming drama. It is not a mindless comedy, but a story of resilience, love, and familial strength. Despite the hardships the Li family endures, they stand united, facing challenges with intelligence and unwavering support for one another.

With the addition of their capable sons-in-law, the family gains even more strength, proving that love and partnership can be powerful tools against injustice. Amidst crime, danger, and false accusations, they emerge victorious, stronger than ever.

If you enjoy well-written dramas with intelligent humor, compelling romances, and strong female leads, Perfect Match is a must-watch.

A solid family drama!

The story of a mother who created her own matriarchal order in a patriarchal order. Her aggressive actions were her way of protesting society; her transformation into the person she is now is purely an instinct to protect herself against the patriarchal society, so I don't understand the criticisms against her.

We watched very beautiful stories of all five sisters. While the story of the sisters was better in the first four sisters, in the 5th story, Yang Xian overshadowed his partner, in my opinion. While she had a very beautiful character development, her partner constantly had the same tendency for violence. This is my only complaint about the series. I would like the 5th daughter to soften when she realized that Yang Xian was not a bad person during her marriage; I think she resorted to violence more than necessary.

I especially liked Winwin and Liang Yong qi's acting, I think Chai An could have been written in more detail and better, I could write about each character in detail, but there is no need, at the end of the day, it was a series that I watched with great pleasure, and I would like to thank the entire team and actors.

Heartwarming family drama

What I love about this drama is that it focus on female dominant family, presented in a simple daily life of them and how they face the hurdles or obstacles befall on them. This drama set it apart from others where each daughter was given a unique and different character portrayal , consistent throughout the story which make it interesting.
Another reason I love this drama is that it conveys the important value of honouring, loving, respecting, caring, being grateful and appreciating a mother's love. All the actors performed well and delight to watch.

A Drama of Love, Schemes, and Lost Potential

*The review contains general thoughts on character relationships but no major plot spoilers*

Perfect Match had an interesting premise, and while I did enjoy watching it as it aired, I can’t help but feel a bit of bittersweetness about it. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe it just didn’t fully deliver on its potential.

The Five Sisters’ Marriages -

Each sister had a different love story; while some were enjoyable, others felt lacking or frustrating.

- First Sister – Their relationship had mutual respect, which I liked, but I don’t have strong feelings about them. It got dragged toward the end, but overall, it wasn’t bad.
- Second Sister – I barely have an opinion on this couple. Their relationship felt more like a subplot supporting the third sister's story. However, the small interactions that were shown were nice.
- Third Sister – Too much scheming for my taste. The male lead fell in love at first sight, but I never really understood when she fell for him—it felt too sudden. Their egos clashed too much, making their relationship feel more about winning than loving.
- Fourth Sister – Easily my favourite. The pacing was great; their love felt real and gradual rather than just being a given. There was no unnecessary scheming, just genuine affection. In many dramas, the falling-in-love process is rushed, but this one took its time, which made it feel more romantic.
- Fifth Sister – I usually love an enemies-to-lovers trope, but this one felt like a lost opportunity. The story started well but lost its way. Her character was too violent, and even though it was played off as comedy, violence is still violence. The male lead wasn’t perfect either, but their relationship lacked true romantic moments—it was mostly fights and separation.

The Five Sisters & Their Mother -

The first three sisters relied too much on scheming. For example, instead of encouraging the fourth sister to talk things out with her husband, they planned an elaborate divorce strategy. I understand that in an ancient male-dominated society, they had to be tough to survive. But personally, I prefer relationships built on mutual respect and communication.

As for their mother, I wasn’t sure what the writers were trying to portray. She's a strong woman who raised and educated five daughters in a world that was unfair to women. But her character felt a bit too unruly and silly at times. I’ve seen the actress in other dramas and liked her, but her performance here didn’t quite work for me.

Final Thoughts -

The drama had its moments. The small interactions between the brothers-in-law were sweet, and I wish we had seen more of them. While I did enjoy watching it, I found myself fast-forwarding through some parts. In the end, I think the lingering bittersweet feeling comes from the fact that I had high hopes, but it just didn’t fully meet them.

It was a good watch, but not a great one.

A ROMANCE OF HUMOR AND DELIGHT

Every now and then, a drama comes along that feels like a breath of fresh air—something that doesn’t just entertain but wraps you up in its world so completely that you forget about everything else for a while. "Perfect Match" (2025) is one of those rare gems. It’s a historical romance set in the Northern Song Dynasty, but don’t let that make you think it’s all stiff court politics and brooding emperors. Instead, this drama is vibrant, full of life, and centers around something far more universal—family, love, and the search for happiness in a world full of expectations.

The heart of the story is Madam Li, a sharp, witty, and fiercely determined widow who moves her family to Bianjing, the bustling capital, to reunite with her second daughter and, more importantly, find good matches for her remaining four daughters. Now, if you think this is just another "mother-obsessed-with-marriage" drama, you’d only be half right. Yes, Madam Li is relentless, but she’s also deeply loving, and her daughters? They’re not passive little girls waiting for husbands. They each have their own dreams, struggles, and personalities that make this story so rich and engaging.

Liu Xiening plays the eldest daughter, Shouhua, a young widow who’s resigned to never marrying again. She’s wise and composed, but beneath that calm exterior, you can sense the weight of her past. Then there's Haode, the fourth daughter, who is straightforward and a bit too honest for her own good, leading to some of the show’s funniest moments. And Wuniang, the youngest, is spoiled but in a way that’s more endearing than frustrating.

But one of the standout relationships for me in the drama is between the fiery and independent Li Kangning and the sharp-witted Chai An. Kangning, played by Lu Yuxiao, is known as the "Rouge Tiger" for a reason—she’s bold, fearless, and doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do. Her interactions with Chai An (Wang Xingyue) are some of the most entertaining in the series. Their relationship starts off with bickering and competition, but as the story unfolds, their dynamic deepens into something much more meaningful. What makes them special isn’t just their undeniable chemistry, but the fact that they challenge each other in ways that help them grow. They’re a perfect example of a couple that starts as rivals and ends up as true partners, making every moment between them a delight to watch.

That said, every couple in "Perfect Match" has its own charm. Shouhua’s slow-burn romance with the gentle and scholarly Du Yangxi is touching in its quiet sincerity. Haode and Shen Huizhao have a straightforward yet deep connection, with Shen Huizhao’s calm and steady nature complementing Haode’s blunt honesty. Wuniang’s romance with the playful and mischievous Yang Xian adds a lighthearted contrast to some of the more serious relationships. And beyond these couples, the series also weaves in the story of Madam Li’s second daughter, Fuhui, and her marriage, giving a broader perspective on love, duty, and compromise.

What makes "Perfect Match" truly shine is its ability to balance humor, romance, and emotional depth. One moment, you’re laughing at a misunderstanding or a cleverly written exchange, and the next, you’re hit with a moment so heartfelt that it stays with you long after the episode ends. The dialogue is sharp and full of wit, making even the most dramatic scenes feel natural rather than overly melodramatic. The relationships feel real, filled with ups and downs, misunderstandings, and growth, which makes the eventual resolutions all the more satisfying.

Visually, the drama is a feast for the eyes. The production team clearly put immense effort into bringing the Northern Song Dynasty to life. The bustling streets of Bianjing, the intricate details of the teahouse, and the beautiful period costumes all contribute to the immersive experience. The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing not just the grandeur of the setting but also the small, intimate moments that make the love stories feel so genuine. Every frame feels thoughtfully composed, making it clear that this is a production that values both substance and style.

Despite all its strengths, "Perfect Match" isn’t without its flaws. Some viewers might find the pacing uneven at times, especially since the story shifts between six different couples. While this structure allows for a rich exploration of different relationships, it can also leave you impatient when the focus moves away from your favorite pairing. Additionally, there are moments where the comedy leans a bit too heavily into exaggerated antics, though these are largely outweighed by the drama’s many heartfelt moments.

Ultimately, what makes "Perfect Match" so memorable is the warmth it leaves behind. It’s a drama that celebrates love in all its forms—romantic love, familial love, and the love that comes from truly understanding oneself. It reminds us that a "perfect match" isn’t just about finding someone who meets a list of criteria—it’s about finding the person who makes you feel at home.

For anyone looking for a drama that is equal parts charming, emotional, and beautifully crafted, "Perfect Match" is an absolute must-watch. It doesn’t just tell one love story—it gives you six, each unique in its own way, and all of them equally compelling. Whether you’re drawn to fiery romance, slow-burn longing, or lighthearted flirtation, there’s something here for everyone. And by the time the final episode rolls around, you’ll find yourself wishing you could spend just a little more time with these characters who feel like old friends.

Perfectly matched ✨

The OST? Slaps. The cinematography? Clean. The all couples? Lowkey stealing scenes. Basically, if you need a drama to obsess over, this the one. 10/10, no skips. 🏆🔥 Plot-wise, this ain’t one of those draggy, "Why won’t y’all just communicate?!" kinda dramas. Nah, they actually give us twists that HIT, and the pacing? Chef’s kiss. 👌✨

This drama tells the story of the Li mother with 6 daughters, one of whom is adopted. The second Li daughter is already married. The Li mother’s goal is to find perfect husbands for the rest of her daughters. This drama splits it up into each daughter’s arc.

However, the Li family has to face many schemes to achieve their goal, and maybe even do a little of their own scheming. Each one of the daughters is cunning, talented, and smart. They all play strong characters,

Likewise, the husbands all are perfect candidates. Each couple has lots of chemistry and each relationship gradually deepens emotionally. There is a lot of growth in each arc.

Overall, the storyline is quite entertaining and there’s rarely ever a boring moment. You might think there’s too many characters but they each are very well fleshed out and you grow to like everyone. I don’t believe there’s any unnecessary characters. The music in the intro is quite catchy after a few eps. Finally, I recommend this drama if you want something light hearted and comedic, yet entertaining.

(My favourite couples are Kangning + Chai An and Shouha + Du Yangxi)

Persevere and it does get amazing!!

Watching the first few episodes, I was disappointed as the story didn't grab me straight away. Maybe because there are so many characters (5 daughters and 1 adopted daughter) so it takes time to warm up and get to know them.

Episode 1-7 I would rate 6-6.5. I kept on going (even though at 1.5x, sometimes 2x speed) as I believe that Wang Xing Yue wouldn't take a role in a drama which is not worthy to watch.

Starting from ep 8, it starts to get gripping. You know, like you are watching and you really want to know what's going to happen next?

The sisterhood bond is so heartwarming to watch.

I'm now at episode 10. Will update (and edit the rating) as it goes. I have updated the overall score to 8.5

Edit. Just finished episode 26. I'm glad I persevered past episode 8. Spoiler: the mum will have less and less appearance as the drama goes on. That's s bonus point for me as I find the mum rather annoying.

So the first arch was Kang Ning (3rd sister) ep 1-10. They like to trick each other haha.

Second arch was Shou Hua (1st sister) ep 11-19. She and her husband are the intelligent/bookie type.

Third arch Ke Ying (4th sister) is what I'm currently watching (ep 26). She and her husband Shen Hui Zhao are perfect for each other because both 's strongest trait is honesty. Ke Ying seems like the most plain sister, so I surprised myself when her arch is my favourite one. They are sooooo adorable together (after her husband got an amnesia). The amnesia really did him good. Poor guy, how can anyone live shouldering the guilt of causing his sister and mother's death. Ep 25 is so swoon worthy!!! Ke Ying's first kiss, the way her husband kneel to tie the red belt with two mandarin ducks, ohhhh swoon!! And it's the start of the next arch (the Fifth sister!)

It's interesting how the arches intertwined with each others. The guy who showed up in ep 3-4 apparently will end up with the Fifth sister. Shou Hua's husband (2nd arch) showed up at 3rd sister's arch briefly before diving into his own arch later on.

I thought after the 3rd sister storyline (which got paired with a character played with Wang Xing Yue), how can it get better than that, right? They are supposed to be the Main CP. And the reason I started this was also for Wang Xing Yue.

Well, I was wrong! The subsequent sister's stories gets even better and better. The tears I cried and the laughs watching them, really was unexpected.

Shou Hua's story was a bit frustrating to watch, as the couple really like each other, but they are so bad at communicating. It got something to do with Shou Hua's reserved personality and history with her first marriage. But IMO, the story has more depth than Kang Ning's. I started crying at Shou Hua's story arch. Ke Ying's is even deeper. She is the least outstanding sister, but her personality shone once she left her sisters. So I'm now looking forward to the last sister's arch (and also the adopted sister).

Edit: I'm done watching at episode 30. I initially looked forward to Leshan (fifth sister)'s story, but I find her as unbearable and her ML counterpart as too weak. Maybe later in the future I will pick it up again and continue. For now, dropping the overall score from 9 to 8.5.
