Where this show fails is in its attempts to be clever and funny. The dialogue lacks sharpness and wit. Kang Ning and Chai An are touted as the cleverest of the bunch, but their schemes really aren’t that clever because the writing itself isn't clever. How is giving a donkey to the man who publicly turns you down supposed to save face? But we're told it's a brilliant move on Kang Ning's part.
The idea of comedy here is also misguided. You can tell when they're trying to be funny, with the screeching and yelling, the beating people up, the fainting, the cross-dressing, and so on. Those gags are stale and poorly executed. As they say, “Dying is easy. Comedy is hard.” Most of the cast can't pull off the humor, but some are just painful to watch. Fan Liang Han is slow, but the actor plays it like he's got brain damage. The actress playing Madame Li is so exaggerated that it pulls me straight out of the story. As the central figure in the family, her performance drags the other actors down with its ridiculousness.
I would've rated this series higher if they don't try to go for the laughs. It makes the characters unlikeable and disrupts the flow of the story. Just stick to the sweet romance and heartfelt family relationships. Wang Xing Yue, Lu Yu Xiao, Liang Yong Qi and the rest have enough charm to carry the series. Let them shine doing what they do best.

A Perfectly Matched Couple
I like this series very much. The plot is light, humorous, and really enjoyable to follow while it is still ongoing. Among the five couples, my favorite is the first daughter and her husband. I think they give off a mature couple vibe. They are educated, polite, and calm. They fit each other perfectly. The wife nurtures her 'childish' husband, but at the same time, she can also lean entirely on him. The actor and actress portray their characters perfectly—I really like their on-screen chemistry.Actually, I really like the son-in-law alliance scene, but unfortunately, there are too few of those scenes in this series 😁😁😁

Marriage is a work in progress for both partners
A story of the Li family to find a husband for the five daughters, who have different and distinct characters. This story shows that a marriage will not always be perfect. They must understand both their strengths and weaknesses to make it work. Each daughter got a set of stories, and little by little both the wife and husband, especially the husband, learned to adjust to their hard-to-crack wives.
I love the son-in-law alliance. Despite their constant betrayal, they manage to help each other make amends with their wives and lead peaceful lives.
The sisters were definitely sticking to each other through ups and downs. What a wonderful opportunity to see how the family united, especially in the hardest part of life.
A big applause to Madam Li. This story shows what a mother can sacrifice for her children. She is tough but very soft with her daughters. Such behavior shows that whatever happens, children will always count on their mother.
Definitely my favorite story was the fourth daughter, Haode, and Shen Hui Zao. Their story is refreshing, where both of them were honest and took a stand for their values.
Overall, this is wonderful to watch. What a wonderful set of stories in one drama.

Perfect Match did a great job of showing the bonds between the Li family as well as throwing in comedic moments. I loved seeing how much they loved each other, if someone had a problem all the other sisters would meet up to try and help. The bonds between the sisters was the main reason I wanted to watch and why I continued to watch. Also loved how conflicts were quickly resolved it(In any other show all those relatives coming to steal the Li's assets would've dragged out for way too long.) helped me not feel as irritated with the villains and kept the show interesting. Kangning's arc started off interesting but I quickly got tired of the back and forth. I felt like Shuohua's arc had a lot of potential that was wasted. I wish they explored more of Shuohua's character in her ways of expressing love. What I mean is that she feels different from her sisters in her relationship because of how closed off she feels. She cares about Yangxi but there's also a wall whether it be her past marriage and how much she cared for him or being the eldest daughter and feeling a responsibility to her mothers and sisters after her father's death. Leshan's arc was fun (sometimes that annoying character just needs to be beaten up no need to spend 10 eps thinking of a way to get payback) but the scheming and annoying in laws got irritating fast. I thought the relationship between her and Yang Xian was cute, glad she found someone that loved her fighting spirit instead of being with someone that she had to bite her tongue around.
Haode's arc felt like it had a darker tone than the rest of the show but that's probably just the nature of having to constantly be around the justice system. The writing for the relationship between her and Huizhao was very sweet and felt a lot more balanced than the other relationships (Fuhui, Kangning, and Shouhua are all calling the shots in their marriages). I also liked how the arc utilized Leshan because before this both Haode and Leshan were kind of just in the background. There's feels like the three oldest sisters are closer to each other while the two youngest are closer to each other (probably because everyone wanted to shield them from the reality of their situation and allowed them to run around and play).
A weak part of Perfect Match was showing the passage of time. I knew time was going by but it was hard to know how much time was going by unless it was explicitly shown. All the characters looked the exact same throughout the show and the only change in style they had was when they got married. But overall the show was enjoyable. The bond between the sisters was my favorite.

If you enjoy heartfelt stories with family warmth and diverse romances, this is worth watching.
For me, this drama was entertaining and a nice one!. While the first few episodes didn’t immediately hook me, I became deeply invested as the story progressed. With 36 episodes, this drama managed to keep things fresh and engaging, almost like a collection of mini-dramas. One of the most compelling aspects of this drama was the different love stories centered around the five sisters. Each sister had a unique journey to finding their perfect match. Let's rank the couples ( obviously based on my thoughts!😁)Fourth Sister’s Couple: The most compelling and emotionally rich romance. Their chemistry was natural, and their story had the perfect blend of drama and warmth. I loved how they managed to communicate with each other and solve probable misunderstandings.
First Sister’s Couple: A mature and well-developed relationship. Their journey felt realistic and touching, making them one of the strongest pairs. Though she had some unnecessary concerns, her partner did a good job here!
Fifth Sister’s Couple: Enjoyable with a charming dynamic, though their arc lacked the depth but still enjoyed..
Second Sister’s Couple: A minor subplot with little screen time. Not impactful.
Third Sister’s Couple: The first 6-7 episodes focused on them, and honestly, I didn’t enjoy their arc much. Their chemistry didn’t draw me in, making the beginning of the drama feel slow and slightly off-putting.
The mother was a standout—brave and unconditionally supportive. The strong sisterly bond added emotional depth beyond romance. Though slow at first, the drama became so engaging that I finished it in just three days! If you enjoy heartfelt stories with family warmth and diverse romances, this is worth watching.

Personally the 3rd sister and the first sister's marriage was a little boring. My favorite was probably the 4th sister's. But the 5th sisters' marriage was probably the most entertaining to watch. The drama is naturally funny, and I loved the mom. She's super funny and it makes the show so halirious.
The only issue I had with watching this show, was some of the scenes were really boring and then you thought that one of the sister's story was over, but really it's not. So it felt like it took forever to watch the show even though it more of a "shorter" drama since it only have 36 episodes.

"Bridgerton" ala chinese
PLOT: Mother Li arrives in the capital with her 4 unmarried daughters (the eldest is a young widow), to join her 5th married daughter. They decide to start a business to make a living. The girls will find suitable husbands (different approaches and personalities) after overcoming all kinds of difficulties.+++ “Bridgerton” in a Chinese style, with the successive romances of the 5 women of this family (entirely girls, this time :)
+++ A bunch of great actors (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
+++ Good balance of emotions, mystery/investigation, humor, romance.
+++ Dynamic production, fairly coherent storyline.
+++ Excellent OST and sound animations.
### Some CLs are more endearing than others: The youngest girl's character is excessive, for example.
### The repetitive arcs create some lenghts ... And after a couple ties the knot/gets married, we no longer have any news about their married life. :(
=> Good romantic and family series
*******************************************************************************
+++ A bunch of great actors (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

Romances of 5 daughters
==Breakdown==Background plot - 30%
Romance - 40%
Misc comedy - 30%
Background plot - fine
Romantic chemistry - it varied from AMAZING to *meh*
Misc comedy - fine
Production value - fine
I dropped this one in the middle of the last daughter's story since I was no longer enjoying the show (and life is to short to be a completist).
Couples ranked in terms of chemistry and story:
Third daughter / 1st story: EXCELLENT story and chemistry-- these two characters and actors really sold their romance and chemistry.
Fourth daughter / 3rd story: Good story, great chemistry-- the chemistry between the actors saved the story.
First daughter / 2nd story: Okay story, good chemistry-- the female lead was much, much stronger than the male lead. She was awesome and he was mid. I definitely think he was miscast and the weakest of the leads.
Fifth daughter / last story: Redundant story, abysmal chemistry-- the actors were fine, but maybe the female lead was too young (IRL) to be playing this role. It's like she didn't know how to have romantic chemistry with anyone.
Overall story was fine. I won't re-watch, but I enjoyed watching it up to episode 29 or so.

Almost is just not enough.
I feel like because the casts were so grand, it pulled through but it definitely could have been more intense, interesting and deep. My main thoughts are:It’s different from your standard Chinese dramas where you normally follow the story of a main couple that deepens as the plot develop. This drama is more like five short stories compressed into the limited episodes (which isn’t a bad idea). But for this particular work the stories didn’t connect smoothly for me. Each sub story could have been more intertwined and contribute to a bigger purpose than one big happy family.
While there are five sub stories, I felt like most of the stories focused on characters who didn’t agree to the marriage and then eventually work it out - a bit repetitive, different but same same you know. There could’ve been a couple that both agreed to the marriage out of genuine love, but they discover something that forces them apart, or if there was a bigger plot behind this, one of the sister’s could’ve got married for a strategic reason to investigate/avenge, only to actually fall in love with the guy.
Casting was almost, strong emphasis on the ‘ALMOST’, fantastic. The letdown was casting Zhao Qing as Chun Lai, she had main character vibes and did not suit the role of the maid at all. In the scenes she was in, I felt like she outshined some of the sisters. Tian Tian presented a great job as the youngest sister, but I felt like Zhao Qing was more suited for this role than the maid role.
Nevertheless, I am wishing for the each couple to have a happy and warm life.

A wholesome family historical drama that tests the strength of familial bonds
Story: I think what really made the story touching was the difficulties faced by Mother Li all contributed to her future success. She had been ridiculed and quite literally exiled from her own home and had to fend for her children and herself. The thing that really touched me was the way she looked so happy and content at the end of the drama when she realized she had accomplished her life goal of providing a good life for her children.I’m going to split the drama up into 4 main parts: 3rd daughter, 1st daughter, 4th daughter, and 5th daughter’s story
3rd daughter’s story: I think this story was definitely the one I was most looking forward to. I was expecting Perfect Match to mainly talk about the 3rd daughter and her husband’s story, but I was sort of disappointed. They marketed the cdrama as Lu Yuxiao and Wang Xingyue being the male and female lead, but they only had 10 episodes of real solid screen time. Their story was so short compared to the others. It was honestly quite disappointing to not see enough of their collaboration as I was looking forward to it. They had so much chemistry, I just wanted more of it.
1st daughter’s story: This part of the cdrama was arguably my least favorite one. I think the eldest daughter did not deserve all that drama. She’s the most caring and smart sister in my opinion, yet she doesn’t speak out enough when it comes to her own marriage. I initially thought she and her husband were really not very fit for each other. He was so cold and rude to her and always expected her to fix his problems and apologize to him. He was sort of useless at the beginning, but it sort of got better. Also, when he called her “姐姐” (sister) to suck up to her, I was literally getting the ick. I know their story still ended up ok, but it was unnecessarily long and dragged out. Honestly the directors could have allocated more time to the 3rd sister’s story. Also, the backstory of Yuan Ming (1st daughter’s husband) was sort of forced and super random. I don’t think it contributed much to the plot.
4th daughter’s story: This was my favorite arc, surprisingly, after the disappointment of the short 3rd daughter story. I think their story was thought out and was really attractive. It was very easy for me to get hooked on their romance. No complaints.
5th daughter’s story: This part also wasn’t too bad. I think some parts of the Yang family’s issues were sort of messy, but it still managed to get the point across. I do agree that Yang Xian (5th daughter’s husband) didn’t really do enough to convey his absolute love and affection for the 5th daughter after he literally ditched her for 3 years. I mean I know it was for a good cause, but he could have begged more for forgiveness. Also, Yang Xian did not do enough for his wife to help her solve his family’s case. It literally pertained to him, but he just sat there with his broken leg. He could have at least sent some people out to help her.
Overall, the story wasn’t too bad. I was just so, so disappointed the male and female leads didn’t get enough screen time. I honestly don’t think you can say there was a female or male lead for this cdrama because the structure of it is different. They split the story up into different parts for each couple, so neither one got too much screen time. I do think the eldest daughter’s story was too long though.
cast/acting:
Lu Yuxiao: I’m really glad she’s getting more and more lead roles in cdramas, although you can’t really say she was the female lead in Perfect Match. I don’t think her acting was noticeably bad or noticeably good in Perfect Match because it is a light and wholesome cdrama. It didn’t really test her acting, but I’m excited for her future projects!
Wang Xingyue: Again, I was sad he and Lu Yuxiao weren’t the center of the story but oh well. I think Wang Xingyue needs to take on some more challenging acting jobs. I saw him in the Double, and I had such high expectations for him. I think he really has a lot of potential for good and challenging roles, so we’ll see.
Liang Yong Qi: I saw him act the bad ex-husband in the Double, so I was super surprised when I noticed he was also going to be in the Perfect Match with Wang Xingyue. Originally, I didn’t have high hopes for him because I kind of hated him from his previous role as a villain; however, I was pleasantly surprised by his adaptability to his role in Perfect Match. It was really cute to see him be such a kind and caring person when it came to the 4th daughter.
I did notice some interesting cameos such as Li Yunrui as the Li Father and Zeng Shunxi as the Emperor. Funny casting, but it worked out I guess.
Themes: there were a lot of really good themes in Perfect Match that really tugged at my heartstrings and made me feel happy inside.
Familial bonds: From the beginning of the story when the Li family was alone and hopeless to the end when every sister had found their “perfect match”, this cdrama is full of the power of family. Mother Li is really the backbone of the entire family, bringing them together and keeping them safe all the time. She deserved so much and her resilience helped her be blessed with 5 amazing son-in-laws. Also, I think the brotherhood in the son-in-law club is hilarious and touching. They’re always either reporting back to their wives or secretly aiding them in their efforts to solve problems.
Gender stereotypes: I think all 6 of Li family’s daughters all fought against the gender stereotypes at the time. Each daughter was brought up to be resilient and intelligent in the face of an opponent, and that really shined through. They all had their strong suits and worked together to solve problems, no matter how tough.
Overall: Although the story had some disappointments and slow areas, I think overall Perfect Match is a warm and wholesome cdrama you should definitely watch when you feel down. The progression of the Li family from having zero to everything is truly what makes Perfect Match perfect. I rate it a 9.5/10
