Good storyline.
Turns out there six couples since the son of li family is alive and well had sweet storyline. was cute. I liked all the couples story expect the 5th sister marrige i get its just drama their just acting the actress is 17 a minor having her being romantic with 27 grown man its inappropriate and uncomfortable to watch which is why skipped certain episodes. If anyone feels the same way I do wants skip that couple the 5th couple story starts at episode 29 the last two episodes you dont see them as much together can especially fast forward thejr . In my opinin they should casted a ml the same age as 5th fl would been cute. I have to say the 4th couple storyline is my fav i love haode her strong personality and bravery and strength never backed down. Would watch this drama again maybe. Was this review helpful to you?

Finally a drama that shows ongoing, loving relationships between couples
It may be difficult to get thru the first episodes and the idea of multiple story arcs which I usually despise; however, I love the fact that in each arc so far (I'm at episode 19), the highlighted couple resolve the issues with a major conclusion: women RULE and their men bow down and cherish them. Additionally, the way each male falls for their partner emphasizes attributes of the woman that the male respects and that we can all acknowledge in the modern era: smartness, talent, loyalty, and morality. This drama has a few misses - for example, the fact that the male lead in the first couple highlighted is an idiot. However, he serves as comic relief and just like the other more likable male leads, he is devoted to his wife. The girls of the family being united, smart, and leaders without depending on male rescue is extremely refreshing. I won't go into more details, but if you could get through more episodes, you will feel warmer and warmer along the way.
One final thing -> I hate dramas where there are a bunch of conflicts/issues/impediments between the couple through almost all the episodes, and then the conclusion has 5 minutes or less of them being happy together. That is why this story is so wonderful, as each couple has their happiness continuing during the next storylines. Kudos to the writer(s)! I hope I am not the only one who feels this way.

I was Excited. Then I watched it.
From episode 1 I was so angry that my heart was clenching. They're not gonna sell me these men as love interests. No way right?!I'm an avid period drama watcher and in most stories it is understood by all that these men are the bad guys.
Cheater husbands are known in social circles. Rapists are treated with some sort of justice while protecting the woman characters virtue instead in this universe they're love interests.
Netflix had to have had so many people involved in production. This passed through so many hands for approval and they all said yes... to this... I can't understand it.

Interesting premise, poor script
Perfect Match isn't your usual slice of life romance. It features a family of strong, independent and cunning women who deeply support and care for each other. The strength of it lies in that every characters is flawed, and nothing is "perfect".Where it falls apart, however, is the narrative form. The plot skips from relationship to relationship and the strings that should hold the narrative together are tenuous at best. There was no character development once the match was secured, so it felt like jumping from one couple together rather than a cohesive story of the sisters and their lives. Honestly, it was a push to finish.
Acting was on-point, the music was good, but nothing outstanding. The set, costumes, etc were all typical of an idol drama.
Most of the complaints I have seen have critiqued the flawed male characters, but I found the female characters just as flawed - albeit in different ways. For example, the script weirdly justified physical abuse when it was applied by women - and the even made it a main point of humour. This subversion - that every character is flawed - is what I actually enjoyed, and is rarely seen in idol dramas.
Overall, it was a 6/10 because apart from the flawed characters and my love of strong female leads, the plot and way the story was told was just disappointing and the sets, acting, etc were all good, but nothing outstanding.

It's not perfect and that's okay!
Finished it. Loved it. I was entertained, great! Highly recommended! Here are my thoughts:1. Best sister is the eldest- she possesses all!! but Kangning is my favorite- she's a mixture of the eldest and the youngest: lovely, intelligent and fierce! I like the 2nd sister for being supportive (and a collaborator at times). The youngest is the cutest. She's pretty and dangerous. If the sisters would train her to use her wits first before taking any action, she really is a force to reckon with. 4th sister is very honest and loving. It's not a weakness because she's smart too. Her ways are different from the other sisters.
2. Best brother-in-law: Chai an. Second bil- the most loyal...to wife first, next to Chai An and the rest b-i-l alliance. First bil: hhmmmpt!! 🤬😡I cried for Shou Hua and I'm not easy to forget. That's why, I don't want to talk much about the 4th brother... I still see him as Shen Roung from The Double 🤪🤬😡 I really feared for Haode's life with this dude! I was anxious seeing him here, but my brain told me that Duke Su is around, so...🤣😂. Kidding aside, Liang Yong Qi is a good actor. Fifth bil: He's a very good dancer 😂 I really don't like his character at first, but he was young that's why he's like that?? I'm just sorry for him for the bride swapping. He thought he was in control of the situation.
3. Best story arc: Haode and Shen, hands down.
4. Best sexual tension: Kangning and Chai An. WXY and LYX are so great! The way they deliver their lines or the way they acted is entirely different from the way their eyes talk! It's like their eyes have a different soul or brain?! 😂
5. Finally, Mama Li. Thank you for raising your kids well and taking care of the household as best as you can. I was just thinking, If I'm Madam Li and my husband is Song Mo (Li Yun Rui)? 6 children are not enough! j/k🤣😂🤣(...just don't die early though, Mr. Li). Giving birth is no joke! Salute to Mama Li!
6. Warning: The show can be very addictive. You know what happened to my life after watching the last episode? I downloaded Red Note, Douyin and Weibo to watch the variety shows and see more off- screen scenes. There's a ton! Yeah, I willingly surrender all my data privacy to the Chinese government 🤣😂🤣I rewatched the show a day after I finished it.
7. My only request from the followers of PM, can you please make some fan-made videos of Kangning and Chai An little "chubbies" since the production couldn't include them in the show? Oh! and Shou Hua's baby too!

Finally A Great Period Piece with Great Actors
Watched 36 episodes and wasn’t disappointed. Who wants to watch a series this long only to. Have a sad ending. Right time to see. Made me laugh, cry and kept me interested the entire series. The costumes, traditions and characters were amazing! Could have showed more of the interactions with the children since the series is long. That’s my only critic. Was this review helpful to you?

Perfect Match is victim of its own reality
Irrespective of tonnes of negetive image around this drama, rightful criticism against the characterization of MLs and obviously being a YZ drama, I watched it 😌.Sloppy editing, baseless screenwriting and unappetising script are common and justified objections against the drama. But regarding the characterization of ML it went through a criticism (rightful) yet in my opinion it's not deconstructed enough. Rather it went "obviously its YZ and the director" way.
While i understand that, I found the charecterisation as a mockery to the word "perfect", I felt the drama tried to paint how ruckus of a world that old society used to be, with constant bringing of dowry , the excessive struggling of the mother for not having a man in her family, these were all reality. I feel Perfect Match as a drama kept those vice of the society un-whitewashed unlike many others. In our reality a woman do not just fight those vices but also lives with them. That's what Perfect Match correctly visualised.
None of the male leads were perfect epitome of a hero, with only virtues, with only consideration, with only good thoughts about a woman. A society that chronically belittle woman, it's quite miraculous to find one good man ( lest 5 😝).
Unfortunately this actually backfired to many cause they only focused on the charecters not the background they are coming from.
In a nutshell, Perfect Match made it's women absolutely strong, witty, smart and scheming. The woman outdid those "imperfect" men and brought them down from their high horse and also made them secondary in certain decisions. I liked how Perfect Match painted the sisters as fierce, decisive and bonded, with little to no need of male assistance, and men coming to terms with them, standing up for them, morphing into something that the society definitely didn't want them to be. If only the production and script was better...*sigh*.

A light, comedic and heartwarming drama about love and family
Story: Following the death of her husband, Madame Li and her daughters deals with years of turmoil and infighting with their greedy relatives. Finally, Madame Li decides to sell off their land and relocate from Luoyang to Bianjing in hopes of starting anew while finding each of her daughters a husband.Plot: The plot is extremely lighthearted and heartwarming and not overly complicated. Each sister goes through a trial and tribulation with the person they love. There are dark moments in the drama but thanks to the humorous interactions between our leads it remains very lighthearted, heartwarming and fun to the very end.
Casting: It's been years since I've watched a C-Drama. This is the first I watched since Eternal Love. China just has so many talents that it's hard to keep track and follow. Although I'm not caught up on all the new rising stars (and old veterans) I honestly think they done a phenomenal job casting. Props to the casting team.
Acting: The acting is nothing short of amazing from our heroes/heroine down to the villains. However, I was absolutely blown away by Haode and Leshan. The first half of the drama we only see them in the background acting mischievously as they are the two youngest in the family without any care. When it comes time for the two to stand up and fight for their love, boy did they shine. They exude so much charm and charisma. Speaking of charisma, no one exudes charisma more so than Shen Hui Zhao. I don't think there's an actor that can appear on screen without saying much but can exude as much charisma as Hui Zhao lol.
Overall: Just a great drama that portrays strong female leads who isn't afraid to fight for what they believe in. It also touches on many aspects such as love, honor, virtue, but none more important than the importance of family. While watching, I wished I had a family of siblings / brother in laws / sister in laws like that. It looks and feels truly blissful. I am now fans of several of the actors and actresses after finishing this series and looking into their other work. I was extremely sad as I was nearing the end of the drama. I really hope there will be a 2nd season.
No doubt Perfect Match is a drama you can always revisit years from now and will definitely bring a smile to your face and tug at your heartstrings.

ML is a remorseless sociopath
While the female leads are very fun the ML is a remorseless sociopath that delights in destroying working people, much poorer and weaker than him, because he feels like it. He uses his wealth and resources to constantly try and destroy/bankrupt the whole FL family. How are show runners expecting viewers to see him as a potential romantic interest when he already harmed multiple members of her family just because he is high on power.
And even the first meeting was shocking- he hit the FL on the head on purpose. Not as an accident. He wanted to hurt someone in that family. He destroys her possessions and doesn't even replace it or send an apology gift. A rich man destroying poorer person's belongs and feeling proud about it? that's the ML. unsalvageable.

Explosion of fun and new ideas
This is a drama that gives alot of credibility to the writer Vu Chinh. Every episode is so dramatic and fun and spontaneous and exploding with emotions. Every character has a strong connection and role in the series. Love it ❤️Although China has a strong men power over women —but these husbands have shown powerful charismas & loves for their strong spirited wives —women cannot find their places without the loves of their husbands during that era for sure. Chinese Pride & Prejudice with possibly weird production.
Themes of family, love, marriage & growth. This drama had potential as an interesting family drama about marriage, but it just sort of exists w/ no real focus. At a certain point I knew this drama wouldn’t have a main character & it would focus on all 5 daughters + 1, but what I didn’t expect is how often certain characters would be gone so long only to reappear again.
So I had an epiphany/theory whoever made this show made it based on the actor/ actress availability & that’s why some characters have so little screen time & some so much. How I see it, the 3rd couple were the most famous so they filmed their scenes first. As soon as their story was done it was the 1st couple, then the 2nd. Finally, the 4th & 5th couple had actors & actresses who didn’t have many dramas lined up for them so they were the most available & thus took up the later parts of the story. That’s the only way I can rationalize as to why the other older sisters barely did anything later on.
Anyways, with that out of the way I usually do a pros & con, but I won’t. A simple summary will suffice. The show lacks in 1 major area: a lack of focus. It doesn’t really have an idea as to what the story is about so certain things happen randomly quite often & other times the characters just do things that don’t make much sense. The one major positive about this show is that it dives into all the sister’s stories so you can pick & choose a favorite couple. But in the end it’s just serviceable & not all too memorable.

Perfect Match: A Series That Lost Its Spark
This is essentially the story of a mother trying to marry off each of her many daughters to the right partner. In my opinion, a lot of the backlash stems from the male leads not being as engaging and compelling as the audience had hoped for.
The issue is that Chai An and Kangning, the two main characters we are introduced to first, are the focus in the beginning. We get to know them, see their love develop, etc. However, after episode 10, they disappear to make room for a new couple, which the audience feels little connection to. Instead, viewers want to continue following Chai An and Kangning’s married life.
Splitting the series into arcs, rather than focusing on just one couple with supporting characters, was a risky choice. A series like New Life Begins also introduced multiple couples but maintained a central couple whose growth we followed, and that proved to be the best approach.
Now, I find myself feeling detached and uninterested in the new couples and their arcs in Perfect Match. It just doesn’t have the same appeal, and the disappointment of not being able to follow the original couple actively has taken away from my enjoyment of the rest. I truly believe this format was a mistake, and that's ultimately why I dropped the series – out of boredom.
