Wait… Is it good or bad??

Yeah so today was the drop of the 9 episodes and seeing all the negative and devided views I decided to share my own. I am just explaining everything. I am not biased and definitely not hating. Now that that’s clear let’s begin.

So the story starts with Li family. A mother and her 4 daughter (since the 2nd is married) going to there married daughters home to escape some evil relatives. The story doesn’t delve that deep into their reasons yet. The mother has a concern and that is her daughters marriages and decides to stay in the city. Though they soon realise they lack funds and decide to open a shop. Their they are rivaled by the famous, handsome and influential merchant Chai An who decides to sabotage their business due to some feud between the 2nd daughter and her husband (from the Fan house who is cousin with the influential Chai An). This leads to a feud between the 3rd daughter Kangning and Chai An. Though it is nothing drastic, mostly like a petty competition between kids aka it is hilarious.

The story has a strong start with great humour and after taking its time setting up the stage, it decides to head first into the relationship between Chai An (ML) and KangNing (FL). They start with a growing bag of misunderstandings which were quite justified but then it spirals out of control. So, to make things easy for you and me. Here are the things I like and the flaws I found (personally) :

❤️Likes❤️
✅Music /OST: I loved the outro which has a like Chinese Opera touch to it.
✅Acting: So far the acting, line delivery and actions has been great!
✅Family: Okay so a family of basically 6 members has a lot of personality and the story masterfully delves into each character in a slow pace letting us get used to each one of them.
✅Male Leads: lol what did you expect, I came here for the colourful cast

(Guys, I felt that the misunderstandings were reasonable since the main couple never really talked to each other. They have never talked properly so it is natural to not know the true nature of the other person. Let’s be honest, we all know for the ML it was love at first sight and then he just stuck to it.)

👿Dislikes /flaws👿

❎Lack of pov: So as a wise person said, this drama mostly sticks to the 3rd person view so we don’t delve into any of the characters thoughts. And for me that’s a big flaw. How do I understand what a character feels until you show me. I need to at least see or hear their reactions!
❎Male Lead: Though it is ignorable for me, many people who are more reasonable and wise than me noticed that the ML is really...arrogant and basically a jerk. He keeps troubling the Li family distroying their business all for his...happiness? Satisfaction is the right word. He had thrown a ball at the FL in the start and then just went ahead and ruined the business. Note that this business wasn't affecting him in anyway but ruining the Li's business would leave them homeless and starving. But in episode 9 he became a complete jerk for once. Reminded me of Mr. Darcy(pride and prejudice) tbh.Maybe that's what they are trying to go for but we all know no one can hold a candle to Mr. Darcy. He was better. Let's see how good he becomes by the end.
(Even though I have said all that I did like how he didn't pursue her after realising that she lives in a real world. By no means forgiving him though. He was really a big jerk in ep9)

(But we have like 3 more male leads to go so who knows, maybe you will enjoy them better)
❎Lastly, I feel like the GOOD humour has been lost already. I don’t know if it is just me, but it seems like even though it has like 50 mins/ ep it quickly forgot about the humour. Not a huge problem tbh…

Yeah, but it is not like I hate this drama, I am actually liking it a lot and am enjoying it. I will continue to watch it. Though it might feel like my dislikes are more, but I just felt the need to elaborate on them as to not cause a misunderstanding. Again no hate, their are only 9 episode out so don’t take this as the solid final review. It is just to help you guys sort through your thoughts on watching it or not. But at the end I would say you should watch the drama and formulate your own view point. Peace ✌️✌️✌️

{Edit 1: So guys today I watch ep24 and can I just say I personally love this. The starting few episodes were… disappointing, but after ep 12 the drama gets a grip and does not let it go…yet, fingers crossed! The comedy, perspectives and male leads have improved SIGNIFICANTLY. What I can see is that this drama has a pattern. You WILL hate the MLs (more like 1st and 3rd son-in-law cause they are the ones we have seen yet) at a point, but then you will love them like they are your own sons. So, my new advice is that you preserver through the first few episodes and then you’ll come to love this. (Spoiler: ep9 jerk Chai An has turned into the best boy.) Of course again, it is my own opinion, you all are free to disagree.}
