Solid Start, Rushed Romance, and Room for More

I went into this show excited, especially since I’ve discovered my love for police and crime dramas after watching NCIS: Hawai’i for the WLW ship, Kacy.

Before anything else, I already want to tachle downfall of the show. It's how stupid the characters were. For such a deep story arc, they were so naive and lacked cleverness. For a person who loves the police procedural genre, the characters, especially Tul, lacked the signature beloved badass and smart charm I was looking for. Because genuinely, how are you the highest ranked police officer on your team yet rely so much on the work of you teammates? Make it make sense.

The first few episodes were solid, episodic yet engaging, especially for me as someone who didn't read the book going into it. But Tul and Run’s love story felt rushed, more like it was there because they’re the leads rather than something that naturally developed. While their shared passion for their craft and moral righteousness could explain their connection, the way they got together felt bland and forgettable.

The show had potential for deeper storytelling and more buildup in their relationship, but with only 10 episodes, it stuck to a simple, generic plot. That simplicity, while necessary for clarity, came at the expense of creativity in building tension and integrating romance with the action-crime theme.

That said, I can’t deny the charm of their pre-relationship banter. It made me wish the lead-up had been longer for a more satisfying payoff. As for the police and medical elements, I just wish there were more action scenes. The standout moments were Tul saving Run from the old man during her solo investigation and the trio’s clever plan to catch the Raindrop Killer dupe. While the latter wasn’t action-heavy, it showcased their strategic thinking, something I wish we’d seen more of.

Still, I’m grateful for this show, it’s a pioneer in the action GL genre with solid production and great attention to accuracy, setting the bar higher for future projects in this space.

The Series is great!!!

This show is fantastic, I hope it never ends.

The performance of Inspector Tul and Doctor Run is truly
remarkable, bringing such depth and authenticity to the
character. Every emotion felt real, and you captured the
essence of the role with such skill and grace.

Wasted potential

Let's start with that I wasn't happy with casting. Engfa already proved herself in BKK and POT, she's great actress but Charlotte... I'm still wondering how greedy must be Nawat to push that girl into acting. She has better scenes, sure but overall she's stiff as plywood. I can count good scenes when you can see Run's emotion on fingers of one hand.
Malin and Meena along with Engfa did amazing job but Charlotte has a lot to work. Tbh I think if she wasn't paired with Engfa, she wouldn't get any acting jobs.
Anyway, at first I loved the criminal part of plot but the deeper we got, there were more and more plot holes. TulRan as characters started to annoying me at some point because they overstepped their functions multiple times and did simply what they wanted.
About romantic plot.. oh god, where I should start.. I'm sorry but MGI should separate Englot long time ago. They have no chemistry since their relationship in real life become so tense and their love scenes are mess. I feel like the only people who hype it are Englot shippers. Also that slow mo during their scenes makes me wanted to throw my phone thru window.
Predicting who's the raindrop killer is pretty obvious somewhere in the middle of series which makes me less and less excited for new episodes. I gave up after 8ep because I simply couldn't stand the poor handle of the plot.
I think the highlights of this series is Tul, Jiew and Phu friendship. I really loved them as trio and I need more projects with EngMeen. I would love to see them as couple. I also loved JiewMay relationship, too bad writers didn't give them enough justice.

In conclusion? Maybe if they would give main role to different couple or at least pair Engfa with someone else and get rid of slow mo the romantic plot would be bearable. For crime plot it started good but end up poorly.

GL can be more than just 2 beautiful women kissing

Petrichor is forever in my heart just like GAP The Series and here's why.

Once upon a time GAP The Series have changed my life. It introduced me to Thai GL Universe that I am currently live in 🦄 I accepted that sometimes GLs are cringe and awkward, doesn't have a decent plot BUT I can watch WLW content with beautiful charming ladies.

Petrichor, however, raised standards much higher.

Let's start with obvious - Englot. Absolutely sure that they had (or have) some kind of romantic relationship. And you can tell. Their chemistry is on the next level. I didn't like their first project - Show me love. Club Friday Hot Love Issue is also not that good. Both series are lacking plot, you watch it just because of the beautiful women. Acting was also not that good. I was sincerely shocked (in a good way) with how much better they were acting in Petrichor. Not too much, no cringe, no awkwardness 🔝
The plot. I am not that smart so I was genuinely surprised with it. Yes, subsequent events felt a little too rushed but otherwise it'd be another 30 episodes 😅
Production, music, light and cinematography are also great.

Ultimately, Petrichor is certainly not a masterpiece of the film industry in general, but for GL industry it is clearly a high-quality product that stands out.

GREAT SHOW

Okay we definitely more GLs like this. This is the content that I didn’t realise I needed and have been so badly waiting for. The setting and storyline is so good that it keeps you totally hooked. Normally I restrain myself with new shows and only watch once they’ve finished airing or midway through but I couldn’t help myself a few minutes into this- and binged all episodes that were out instantly.

I love the acting of all the characters so far and the drama was at bare minimum which is such a positive point for a Thai GL. Only the last few episodes seemed to stretch on for no reason- unfortunately it fell to the pattern of GLs which just do something to destroy the ending episodes.

But I still appreciate the mystery storyline, and liked the show

Different, Mature, and Totally Addictive

I don’t have words to describe this series. Honestly, I think it completely breaks away from what I was used to seeing in the Thai GL world. It’s a different idea, and it’s very well made and developed.

The plot seemed spectacular to me. The fact that the story doesn’t just focus on the couple Tul and Ran, but also introduces a main mystery while dropping other smaller cases along the way, is a big win. Personally, I got hooked from the very first second.

I also really appreciate the good presentation of the secondary couple, and the time dedicated to showing the friendships. You can tell everything is well cared for.

The relationship between the protagonists felt very mature, something you honestly don’t see much. Even though both carry past traumas, the way they relate is healthy, respectful, and realistic. That’s really refreshing.

I think this series is very underrated, and that people don’t talk enough about this gem. If anyone is reading this and wondering whether to watch it or not: DO IT!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
And please, Englot in more series, ASAP!

you kinda don't expect it

This show came to me without any expectations but the first episode got me through the very last one. I think it's pretty rare to see shows with this much effort in production. Although the plot didn't necessarily focus on the crime aspects, it didn't bring the whole show down. Instead, it was focused on the main character and you can rarely go wrong with that. I sincerely enjoyed watching this, and I'm so glad to have found this! Although I put down -.5 star for the details in the plot, and another -.5 star for the acting. I believe every show has room for improvement. Still, it was enjoyable!

The First Thai GL Crime Procedural

A gripping good cop/serial killer drama with strong performances. No character felt like a mere plot device or aimless support—everyone had a purpose. The show delivered a solid twist backed by a well-thought-out backstory, and each character’s motivation was clear, so I never found myself questioning their actions.

That said, the series wasn’t without flaws. The middle—particularly episodes 5 and 6—dragged, feeling sluggish and uneventful, almost making me lose interest. A Crime Thriller With Sapphic Elements!

With a killer on the loose, buried secrets coming to light, and determined women breaking barriers in male-dominated fields, “Petrichor” delivers an intriguing and suspenseful experience.

The city becomes a hunting ground as young women are brutally murdered—their bodies found bound, skulls fractured, and left to rot. The pattern mirrors a series of killings from 18 years ago, and the murderer only strikes on rainy nights. The crimes resume just as the previously convicted suspect is released from prison after serving 20 years.

Inspector Tul (Engfa Waraha) and forensic doctor Run (Charlotte Austin) join forces to uncover the truth, but the deeper they dig, the more convoluted the case becomes.

The show started off strong, pulling me in with its intriguing premise. The relationship between the two leads, Tul and Run, has a soft, quiet intimacy, but at times, their interactions felt unnecessarily prolonged. The background score, while atmospheric, occasionally overwhelmed the scenes instead of enhancing them.
