Thrilling, It made my heart race
It is just getting started but it successfully made my heart race. All it scenes, music, casting seem perfect for what it is. I loved the pacing. My only complain is about the side politics and the antagonists. I wasn’t given enough to care just yet so a few of their scenes I felt like skipping, either because it didn't matter for the plot of the episode or because it seemed obvious (in the case of the antagonist). The opposite stands for our main team, I loved how they were introduced and I can already see potential for character growth. I think the pace of the first two episodes was great and loved how it had its own arc, I felt satisfied by the end of the 2nd episode but eager to keep watching. Was this review helpful to you?
The Art of the Deal
In a business world of White and Black Knights, The Art of the Deal (with the emphasis on Art) can make or break a troubled Business Conglomerate, while preventing a takeover. There is a way to conduct business when a Conglomerate is threatened by a takeover or failure, and it is similar to the Ballroom Dance of the Matador, the Paso Doble. You allure the Bull with a cape which may look like protection at first, but it hides a sword. Then you strike when it is least expected. When done right, the business comes out on top with the least damage. The Korean Drama ‘The Art of Negotiation’ is a wonderful ‘Art of Business’ Korean Drama. I love Business Dramas when these are done right.Lee Je Hoon plays “The White Snake”, Yun Ju No
A man steps forward in pristine conservative business attire, down to his shoes, and neatly coiffed white hair. He is nicknamed ‘The White Snake’, because of his ability to aggressively and swiftly attack and resolve a business issue. With the drama ‘The Art of Negotiation’, instead of working out the particulars of the set-up for the drama over an episode, the writer of The Art of Negotiation chose to have a drama conversation between two employees that deep dives into the meanings of everything you are about to see. This helps the viewers, who may lack business knowledge, to get the picture of what is going on right up front. The drama is suspenseful and filled with thrilling, aggressive, action right from the beginning. In The Art of Negotiation, the drama had me in the first 2 minutes. The Art of Negotiation is intelligent, intriguing, and is my kind of drama.
As the story goes, the Conglomerate which needs to be fixed is 11 trillion won in debt. The Business Corporate Resident explains what that means.
Quote: “Someone earning 100 million won a year, could not pay off this debt in 100,000 years. Even if a monkey saved money, while evolving into a human, he could not pay off 11 Trillion won”.
With The Art of Negotiation, the Art of the Deal will be explored each week with different story arcs. Groundwork already has been laid for intrigue, as backstories emerge.
It is funny that I never noticed it before, but business dramas are like Period or Historic dramas in street clothes. Instead of Court Intrigue, you have business deal intrigue. Instead of Kings, you have Chaebols. Instead of sword fighting armies you have business henchmen. Finally, instead of Ninjas, you have Corporate Villains and Traitors.
The Art of Negotiation has a stacked cast of well known Korean Actors, led by Lee Je Hoon (Move to Heaven playing Yun Ju No). This drama promises to be a really big deal. (Pun intended)
Words Defined
Black Knight—A hostile Company whose intent is to take over a struggling company, with the intent to decimate it by selling its parts.
White Knight— A Company you invite in to save your Company from decimation. This friendly Company will take over your business, but will keep the Company intact.

Show is interesting, But?
I didn't get bored watching the show, it's slow paced but still interesting to watch, the show was good till last episode, but it was how it ended that caused a mixed feeling for me, I was watching a J drama before writing this review it was about a disappearance of a family whose daughter gets the help of the protag to solve the mystery, music in it was infinite times better than this show in the sense I feel the music was not used well, some parts were good some were silent some scenes the music felt weird, acting was the best part of the show, story was interesting, but focus went to side stories making the main part lost in the story of supporting characters, I liked the Japan arc & the golf company arc, but in this two cases viewers get to see how protag saved a business & failed to sell another in a way that appeased the chairman but did it need 4 episodes in the sense due to that main story was shortened & now need a season 2 to tie up all loose ends, like the daughter of the doctor who met Chairman around the first episodes where he laughed weirdly & after the show ends after credit scene we find that lady is pregnant & the man with her might be related to Chairman & even that guy was acting weird, Chairman expression when he met the female Doctor with her father was weird in the sense it also gave a sense that he might be interested in young girls & asking her to write her name in Chinese etc also felt weird but if he knows she had a relationship with someone in his family that scene is not weird, then saw that female doctor with chairman when he was hospitalized & he talks to her about his daughter that scene was not bad it was like a father talking to a woman who is around the age of her daughter about what he felt about his daughters situation then that ending with female doctor again.Samuel Fund arc was a joke, they were everywhere but at the end will be dealt in season 2, there was another K drama around 2019 in it ML wife was in coma that situation was resolved in that season & story ends with death of one person who was guilty there was a season 2 next year & it only had this case from season 1 dealt with in season 2 another show detective drama season 1 dealt with FL family death & MLs lover death it was resolved in season 1 FL even divorced her husband in season 1 who she married because after her family's death she lived with her husband's family & she ended up marrying him, season 1 ended as if there was no need for a sequel & still there was a sequel that continued the story.
Then came Netflix dramas etc that has 6–12 episodes that ends with cliffhangers for potential sequels due to this now some shows don't conclude the story better they waste time & drag the story with lot of things, J dramas they end the story in 8–12 episodes even those I sometimes felt needed more episodes just because loved watching it.
In this drama, everything related to side stories were resolved perfectly only the main story is left open except brother's death was resolved but by the looks of it main parties might be out there like the guy or both from Samuel Fund.
I have mixed feelings after I finished this one, it's good, bad weird (music) at the same time, was there a need to push everything unresolved to season 2, I think they could have finished the story beautifully in season 1 itself & continue another story in Season 2, if the team have a plan to tell the story in Season 2 & it's well executed then after watching that my review for this show might improve else I will stick to this. Just my opinion, it's one time watch show is good but won't say it's the best.
I would say compared to this show Fixer J drama which has 3 seasons is done better, main part is resolved in each season like first season dealt with prime minister's accident & cabinet in trouble, S2 dealt with reporter from season 1 arrested for assaulting governors wife and S3 dealt with the reporter running for Governor election, protag of this series is the Fixer he is the main player he was falsely arrested and after his return he is in the midst of things that happens in all 3 seasons.
In season 1 story ends with resolving things regarding PMs accident etc, Season 2 ends with solving the case of assault & Season 3 ends with resolving election & potential sequel, but the story ended fine even without the need for a sequel Fixer telling the Reporter I will make you the Prime minister of Japan but if that drama followed this dramas style & focused on side story S1 & S2 incidents will only be resolved in S3.
I feel this story could have been resolved in this season itself & my review being like this only because of leaving everything to S2, that part felt lazy, everything was great except music & leaving everything to be resolved in next season, usually don't go this hard on any drama, I had high hopes for this one & was left disappointed, I won't be rewatching this again also won't recommend rewatching the show unless they want to check various business terms & scenarios regarding but rather than rewatching for that purpose it's best to check YouTube videos regarding M&A etc, all effort was put into making best side stories & by side stories I mean supporting character's backstory, Construction co selling arc dealt with old woman & Bium D & I CEO, Gaming co arc dealt with lead developer who is in love & his team, Japanese arc dealt with Shimizu employees, Hotel arc dealt with Chairman daughter & Golf co arc dealt with Lawyers friend etc each arc had close interaction of side characters with one of the member from team like in the Hotel arc chairman daughter interaction with Kwak Min Jeong. So story focused mainly on supporting characters & left main story to be resolved in season 2.

White Hair, WTF!!!!.Incomplete Ending, too many twists and turns and stale story.
What happened with the female team member's family of or Main Character's team?? --
Incomplete character's details even though it was 12 ep long. The Intern in the team was like the chairman's son, but no context so no answer.

A k-drama which needs your attention and time!
This episode had the perfect balance of realism and mystery, making it incredibly engaging. I loved that there wasn’t a dramatic cliffhanger in episode 1, yet the way it ended still left me eager for more. The pacing was just right, drawing me in without feeling rushed. And I have to say, Lee Je-hoon's white hair adds so much depth and intrigue to his character—I can’t get enough of it! It enhances his presence and makes him even more captivating to watch. If you give this a try, you’ll see exactly what I mean. The first episode had such a strong and promising start, and I truly hope more people check it out because it deserves all the attention! Was this review helpful to you?
11 BILLION or is it 11 TRILLION?
I am enjoying this drama and anticipate it to build as each episode airs. Wrong amount in written above. They keep saying 11 TRILLION in the drama not 11 billion. Love the ML. I can't hardly wait to see if he is married and to whom. Lordy the first episode was really tense in the board room. I want to throat punch the chairman. I faithfully believe he will get what's coming to him.Was this review helpful to you?
Lee Je-hoon's Masterclass in Corporate Intrigue Sets a Promising Tone"
In the first glance of ep1, i & also the viewers are introduced to Yoon Joo-no (Lee Je-hoon), a legendary mergers and acquisitions (M&A) expert, and his adept team, including lawyer Oh Soon-young (Kim Dae-myung) and analyst Choi Jin-soo (Cha Kang-yoon) including the intern Choi Jin-su (Cha Gang Yun). The episode delves into the intricate world of high-stakes corporate deals, setting the stage for intense negotiations and ethical dilemmas. The ensemble cast delivers compelling performances, with silver-hair Lee Je-hoon's portrayal of Yoon Joo-no standing out as particularly captivating. The narrative promises a blend of personal and professional challenges, hinting at the complexities the characters will face as the series unfolds. Then also, Kim Dae-myung and Cha Kang-yoon complement him well, adding layers to the narrative through their characters perspectives, however we still haven't see more of the intern therefore can't say for now, but sure he will also add his own layers to the team.
Overall, Episode 1 offers a promising start to the series, combining sharp writing with strong character development. Viewers i.e MEEE can anticipate a thrilling journey through the cutthroat world of corporate negotiations. HAVE FUN WATCHING THIS GUYS!!it is really a good kdrama..
THANK U SM FOR READING THIS!!!

Was this review helpful to you?
