Oh my god. Where do i even start?

I went into this with sky-high expectations (first mistake). The hype was insane, people were going crazy over it, JD (mostly Dunk) had allegedly leveled up their acting, and by some review the story was supposed to be intriguing, hot, and absolutely mind-blowing. So, I watched it. Or rather, I started watching it, then promptly decided to save myself from premature aging and just skim through the key moments after episode two. Because, honestly, watching those first two episodes felt like self-inflicted torture, and I’m not a masochist (unlike some characters in this show).

Let’s talk about the story. The premise? Very fcking good. Two brothers, Bison and Fadel, work as hitmen for some illegal organization (under their own mother, because why not), and they fall in love with two guys, Kant and Style, who initially get involved with them for purely selfish reasons—one to erase his criminal record, the other for his dad’s car (yes. A car). Now, a good writer would have played completely on the psychological aspect of killing people/having a relationship with a killer, right? Not here. The entire psychological aspect is non-existent, and the result is absolutely laughable.

For example, at a certain point Kant reveal to Style that he had set him up with a serial killer, an hitman, and what does Style do? He gets a little scarred for not even one full episode, while still hanging out with Fadel, and then everything goes back to normal, as if he didn't just descover that the guy he got close with for a CAR, kill people on a daily basis. U should feel terrified by the fact that whoever is next to u can do that to you. It's the feeling of disgust that Style should feel by knowing that Fadel takes people's life as if it doesn't even matter to him. It's the feeling of scare and pity knowing that the guy he is woth became numb to blood and death, it's the sadness of wondering what made him become like that. I get that the people who Fadel and Bison kills are evil(actually we cannot even be sure of it, there are no proof we can only base this on trust), but neither Style nor Kant know that at the beginning and nobody, not even the two brother, can be sure of that, as they are basically machines who kills whoever they are told to kill. And those who got killed are still person u know? So like wtf??? Even the simple feeling of disgust that Style could have felt towards himself, when even after knowing everything that Fadel did he still cannot forget him, still wants him.
And if u don't have an actor that is able to convey all of those emotions then try to make them understandable, give them some character development. No. Style was afraid for a couple of "dates" then came back to normal.
And the problem is that the series is filled with those unreasonable reaction/decision.

And speaking of hitmen, let’s talk about the non-existent realism around them. These guys go around murdering people with no gloves, no caution, just pure vibes. I think they were meant to be portrayed as infallible assassins, but in reality, they just come off as stupid teenagers. And don’t get me started on their punishment: five years in prison. FIVE. For being serial killers. (I mean im no expert on Thai laws but i think that two guys who killed god knows how many people in their lives shoudl get life in prison, especially since they would be treated as nations criminal) and they spent those five years in a facility with the security level of my kindergarten, where they apparently have zero trouble kissing and having sex. (No, really, how is that even possible in a prison setting?)

The plot is filled with unnecessary filler (which I mercifully skipped) and characters that range from obnoxious to completely void. Bison wants freedom from his job but is also a full-blown psycho. Kant is a blank slate. He has no personality. Style has too much personality (so much that he loops back around to being unbearable, then somehow redeems himself and become funny). Fadel is the only one with some intelligence, but the writing completely sabotages him. As for the couples? FadelStyle was at least somewhat engaging, mostly because KantBison were a kind of snoozefest (taking away their steamy scenes)

Now i need a minute to talk about the director and the absurd choices for the series.
Jojo, honey. Sweetie. What’s going on? What happened?I get that you’re trying to revolutionize the genre, moving from soft, fluffy BLs to absolute chaotic madness (Only Friends walked so this show could sprint straight off a cliff). But this isn’t a revolution. This is just swinging wildly from one extreme to the other. There’s unrealistic Wattpad fluff, and then there’s this, where everything revolves around sex, making it just as fake and unrealistic as the sugar-coated stuff.
It ruins the character (the only personality traid Kant and Bison seem to have is "i want to fck")
No need to incude sex in every intimate scene, after every kiss or every deep talk. No need to add BDSM, especially since Kant seems to be so uncomfortable.

And visually? Where did the budget go? While i was watching i wasnt able to bring myself to believe that the same man who is directing thk directed Never Let Me Go. The coloring is dull asf, with some attempt of playing it on red/yellow/blue but failing. The island setting (an island, which should be beautiful without even trying) was so ugly it physically hurt me. The water in Fadel and Style’s scene looked so dirty I felt like I needed a shower just from watching it. Most locations felt painfully empty, but honestly, I was grateful—no human being deserves to witness some of these cringeworthy moments in person.

Costume wise they deserve one point for dressing Kant (First). Everybody in general (im always in for a series where the character have dofferent styling) but First and his cunty glasses made the show for me. The man looked great. But the fake tattoos? Atrocious. If your character is a tattoo artist, either hire an actor with real tattoos or at least try to make them look semi-realistic. These looked like they were slapped on two minutes before the recording started.

While for it concern the acting; First and Khao? No surprise, they did well, but even they felt held back by the writing (i think that even Angelina Jolie would have been hold back if this was the level of the script). Kant had no personality, Bison was a little too crazy (and not in a good way), but when they needed to deliver, they did. Joong was THE standout. Cold, distant, emotionally wrecked? He nailed it. Dunk? Well… he’s improved. But please, for the love of God, close your eyes when you kiss. I beg you.

Music? Absolute banger. Jojo never fails when it comes to OSTs. And the opening? Fantastic. Kudos to Khaotung for giving us yet another amazing BL opening, the only good thing i will bring with me after the end of the show.

So yeah. If you want to watch this, go in with zero expectations. No, forget that: go in completely brain-empty. If you don’t care about realism and just want hot actors doing hot things, you’ll probably have fun. If you want anything to make sense… well, prepare to be just as confused and embarrassed as I was.

It’s okay positives and negatives

I watched this series after it finished airing based on it being highly recommended on TikTok. I was expecting it to be better than it was. My first mistake was not realizing it wasn’t a NC17. It had all the elements of a great show but still somehow missed the mark. I think the failure is in the script and editing.

Negatives:
The editing is sloppy, especially with music. The music often jumps in unexpectedly and cuts off abruptly. It’s jarring enough to take you out of the scene.

In the second half of the show, there are scenes that seem to run on and on to the point where you lose interest. A 10 minute scene that could easily have been 5. I found myself skipping ahead. I almost didn’t finish it.

There are so many scenes where the couple is sitting, side by side, and talking for extended periods of time with nothing else of interest going on. It makes for many boring scenes where the dialog is nice but unbearable to watch. I was bored out of my skull.

Pros
This shows a different path to love than most BLs where it’s meet, struggle, find love, sex. It shows a different dynamic that exists in gay relationships.

The plot is interesting enough.

Nice balance of screen time between the two couples and both couples had good on screen chemistry.

Watch it only if you are a fan of the leads, the story is rather tame

If you are a fan of Joon-Dunk and/or First-Khaotung and are here to watch them being cute, smexy, etc., then you would definitely enjoy this. Otherwise its just tame and yet another OTT Thai BL that ends up offering the same old.

BL-needle score- 8, reasonably high BL-ness

I find Joon really hot, and like Force's acting - two main reasons that I had started watching this. But it just grew more and more tame and lost reasons for me to continue to watch it. I mean its not worse than a lot of other shows that I have watched earlier, and I wasn't expecting a lot from it anyway, but given that I am not a fan of the leads (the reason I continued to watch Jack & Joker, for example :D) and have grown more nit-picky these days about the story, I dropped it.

My verdict - go in only if you are a fan of the leads, otherwise you will be disappointed.

Lackluster

Had some cool concepts, but was not executed anywhere near its potential. The beginning laid down some good groundwork, but after that, it was just a skeleton with no meat or soul. I wanted to like the second couple more because of their characters, but the first couple was much more enjoyable to watch, because the actors had way better chemistry. I liked the idea of assassin brothers and their boyfies, but it didn't really expand on the politics of that kind of dynamic. Things felt kind of contrived and hollow at the same time. The cinematography looked nice, but the acting just felt like... acting... it was hard for me to become immersed.

Maybe you should low your expectations before watching it

It's entertaining, but to be honest I was expecting way too much. I saw a good casting and an interesting plot so I thought this will be mind-blowing, unfortunately, it wasn't. now, not everything is bad so...

Good points:
-First and Khao are amazing actors, their acting feel genuine
-For joong and dunk, yes I think dunk needs to improve in his acting but tbh it wasn't that bad, actually styles is my favorite character here so for me he did a good job here, and joong no words need he's good.
-the scenarios are beautiful, the aesthetics are cool so points for that
-music choice is on point

Bad points
-Just as I said, first and Khao are amazing actors but their characters were not distinctive for me idk, they're the main couple but their story was off, it had a good plot but for some reason they didn't catch me (maybe they were too fast idk)
-The plot felt ridiculous at some point, there were aa lot of things that didn't make sense at all😭
-I need to mention this, the tattoos were bad, they look so fake I couldn't take my eyes off it
- as I said, dunk did such a great job with style and the problem is that he's really the only character you'll be excited to see bc he's the only one with a distinctive personality.

so yeah, I was expecting way too much but I still enjoyed it, so this a solid 6 for me, no excellent but no bad

Incredible So Far!!

I've been seeing a lot of backlash for this series on Twitter and in reviews and stuff and that really bothers me so I'm here to leave MY review of the FIRST episode. considering only the pilot is out at this moment, it's amazing to me how many people have decided that this series sucks, I have a few things I want to mention about the backlash first.

One being all the people talking about the NC scenes; you guys complained for forever that GMMTV did not include enough NC scenes in their series, and now that they have p'Jojo directing more mature series, AS HE ALWAYS HAS, suddenly it's a problem?? So many of you are very contradicting with your words & "criticism" it's astonishing.

Secondly, how are you going to judge a series before it's finished? The show has barely landed on its feet yet because ONLY THE FIRST EPISODE HAS COME OUT!! please put your thinking caps on for a moment before you review a series that you, one, either haven't watched or two; don't want to watch. if you already know before you watch the show that you don't like the actors or the directors style, then DON'T watch the series?? why are you watching something YOU DON'T WANT TO WATCH just to come on the internet and complain about it?? I'm serious. there's SO many other things you could be doing with your free time then forcing yourself to sit through something you don't want to watch.

Anyways!! all that negativity aside, I love the vibe of the series so far and every actor is killing it, I'm LIVING for Fadelstyle!! I can't wait to see the story develop, since in the trailer it seems like most of the scenes are going to be in the first few episodes, so the plot points from there on is going to come as a surprise which is very exciting!! p'Jojo is incredible as always, Wednesdays have now become an important part of my schedule, so thank you so much!! 🩷😊

Heart Killer the series review

I saw this series first episode on last Wednesday and i really loved this whole series. Fadel and Styles chemistry is topnotch, the way they tease each other throughout the episode is epic. Style is my favourite character of this series. The whole episode is filled with love, teasing and comedy. Whenever Kant and bison are about to kiss after their one night stand fadel appears, I laughed a lot while watching those scenes. Kant and bison are being cute in their own world making me love them more. Overall the first episode was amazing. Joong dunk and First Khaotung are perfect people for their respective roles in this series. This series is added to another one of my favourite dramas from this year. Thanks gmmtv for another one of your amazing series this year.
