This Show is a Must Watch!!

I didn’t actually think that I would be so obsessed with this show, but I feel this is one of the best Thai BLs I’ve seen. I’m gonna be totally honest I wasn’t a huge fan of JoongDunk because I wasn’t a big fan of either of them and even though I watched there shows I still didn’t really like them, but this show made me love them. I felt each character was amazing and were funny in their own way. I will warn you that there may be spoilers so be aware.
I actually loved this plot which was assassins in love with an average human being. I will first talk about Kant and Bisons love story. I am honestly a huge FirstKhaotung fan because I feel they have so much chemistry that they always do amazing in all of their shows. I fell in love with Bison in the first episode because he was so adorable, but then he would become an assassin and he would be tough and that’s what I like about Khaotung is that he can bring any character to life. Their story started with Kant who had a one night stand with Bison after meeting at the bowling alley and since Kant used to be a criminal he worked with a cop named Captain in order to not go to jail and so he can stay with his younger brother Babe. The person Kant was supposed to give to the police was his one night stand guy Bison and his brother Fadel. This made Kant fall crazy in love Bison and Bison was also crazy in love. Even though Fadel was a protective older brother and didn’t want Bison to date because they’re assassins and that normal people shouldn’t be brought into this. They still dated and Kant had to pretend he knew nothing about them being assassins and even ratted them out to the Captain who attacked Bison and Fadel while on a mission and that made Bison upset because he found out it was Kant and took his to his private island that his parents owned and basically kidnapped him. Then Kant said the truth about everything and they forgave each other and started dating again, but Bison wanted to finish his last mission with Fadel in trying to take down mother (Lily) and they did, but Fadel and Bison turned themselves in and went to prison for 5 years and even Kant started to work at the Prison so he can see Bison was actually adorable. Then Bison and Fadel got to leave prison, but Lily had kidnapped both Styles dad and Kant’s brother so Bison and Fadel made sure Lily would be gone forever. Then Kant and Bison had their happy ending of seeing the Northern Lights.
Style and Fadel had such an entertaining love story. It started with Kant begging Style to ask Fadel out so he can ask Bison out and Style agreed and started following him everyday so once he disappears Fadel would miss him and it worked. What I literally loved about Style interfering with Fadel was the scene where they both met at the therapy circle and Style talked about his dog or how someone (Fadel) had a one night stand with him and ditched him right after. Majority of their storyline involved Fadel wanting to get rid of Style or wanting to murder him. I liked the scene where they were kidnapped by the gay couple in the middle of nowhere and how they basically got them married, Fadel threatening them, and Style and Fadel having a steamy scene in the bathtub. I love whenever Bison called Fadel because it reminds me of Pharm calling Dean in Until We Meet Again. Overall, I really enjoyed this show and it’s definitely a must watch and this show will definitely make you cry, mad, and happy throughout the whole series. Plus JoongDunk and FirstKhaotung was a duo that I never knew we needed to see in a drama together.

Imperfect and Messy, but a fun ride!

Wow, what a journey! I have to say that I surprisingly enjoyed the hell out of this show. Is it an amazing story? No, not really. But, there's just something about this show that makes it really fun to watch despite having many illogical things within it.

PROS
Characters - All the characters were just so interesting to watch! None of them were the classic perfect goody shoes main characters, which I really appreciated. They all had their own issues and flaws, which made them feel more real and relatable. Each main character's actions were understandable, even when they made stupid decisions that made me want to bang my head and their heads against the wall. I especially liked how their personalities clashed and complemented each other. This is specifically true for Fadel and Style, who had some really interesting dynamics.

Chemistry - Off the charts. I came into this already knowing how well KhaoFirst's chemistry is, but what took me by surprise was JoongDunk. I admit, I did not know anything about these two before watching this show, but I was pleasantly surprised how awesome they were together. In fact, I have become total fans of these two and am planning on watching all of their shows together. I just couldn't remove my eyes off the them and their story AT ALL!!

Comedy - If you're expecting an action-packed show like KinnPorsche, then this is defo not for you. This is more of a romantic-comedy (as also said by the actors), so make sure to keep your expectations checked! The comedy was definitely a highlight for me. Style aka Dunk was such an amazing comic relief who also had so many iconic lines. I couldn't stop getting amused, even in serious situations.

Spicy Scenes - Do I need to say more? Now, I'm not the kind of person who just watches BL dramas for spicy scenes, but I will say that it was quite well-done in this show. It's not the classic "top person does all the work" kinda thing (which is completely unrealistic). All the main characters actively engage and do their parts well.

CONS
Illogical moments - I have to say that this drama had multiple plot holes. Some character decisions felt very out of character, like they were made just to push the plot forward rather than matching their personalities. We also did not get proper closure for soo many things. The truth of many things that the audiences were curious about were not told at all.... and don’t even get me started on some of the coincidences! Certain events lined up so conveniently that it felt almost lazy from a writing viewpoint.

Villain characterization - I'm sorry, but this is the lamest villain I've seen in a while!!! The villain was just sooo useless and weak, to the point that it was quite frustrating. I kept thinking "damn, even I can do better than this and I'm no villain". I don't understand how the director managed to give all the mc's has such awesome personalities, but made the antagonists soo freaking stupid and weak.

Acting - Ik that I just proclaimed my love for JoongDunk the pros section above. They're very good, but both of them defo need some more acting lessons. Both of them did good in the comedy, romance, and action bits, but it was obvious how much they struggled with some scenes that require showing a lot of emotions. Those scenes were a hit or miss. They did really good in some emotional scenes, but some also made me go "huh?". However, Ik these two have improved a lot compared to their previous dramas together, so I know that they will just keep getting better. They also matched their characters very well, which I liked a lot.

First's character AKA Kant - I'm not too sure if this is a character problem, actor problem, a director problem, or just a me problem. I just couldn't care about Kant's character AT ALL. He did not feel genuine for about the first 7ish episodes. He did not feel genuine when he "really fell in love". His character just felt really fake for half the show. His character felt better in the second half though..

Overall, this is just a messy, but fun watch. Don't have high expectations about the assassins plot and the action, then you just might enjoy this ridiculous show like I did lol. GOOD LUCK IF YOU PTW THIS!

- unique premise (non school setting and actors get to play characters closer to their real age)

- how characters weren't blushing maidens

- glad they turned the teacher in and there were consequences for that
- that they subverted a very common trope in ep 12
- director cameo in ep 12
- overall wrapped up well

Room For Improvement
- the huge tonal shifts between sweet cinnamon rolls to cold blooded killers (the graphic dream murdering was too much), did not enjoy the amount of times characters pointed a loaded gun at their love interest and it made it difficult for me to root for the couples
- I've never seen a mechanic with that much grease on their face/body before, felt like a fictional way to say "this person is an auto mechanic"
- some of the sound effects/background music
- a couple of odd mouth/face close up shots
- crashed a grief support group and made a mockery of it on multiple occasions
- too much accordion music
- not a fan of the level of harassment, luckily it ended in episode 4
- random couple in episode 8 when they could have spent more time developing a third couple
- ep 12 poor communication lead to more hurt than if he had just said what his plan was
- a ton of nonsense plot stuff that pulled me out of the story also cliched things such as saying "let me explain" over and over again but not explaining, a character saying "trust me" and another character trusting them because of it

Joong-Dunk & First-Khaotung in a drama… Of course here I come… First of all… What the heck with that first episode… It really gave me a shock, I must check multiple times if this is really a GmmTV production, not anything else… Why…? Because I think this the first GmmTV drama that had such mature scene like that, if I remember correctly, even only friends still didn’t have that kind of scene… I was really shocked with the scene in my eyes… Haha…

Anyhow… Story first…

Kant met Bison at a bowling alley, and they ended up having a one night stand. The next day, Christ (Captain of the police force), asks Kant to spy on Bison & Fadel, who turn out to be a hitman.

Bison is an easy going man, although suspicious about Kant, but feeling a bit charmed by Kant, Bison let his suspicion go away. It's Fadel who can't let it go & keeps curious with Kant.

So, to ‘chase’ Fadel away, Kant asked his friend, Style, to flirt with Fadel.

Style met Fadel by accidently crashing into his car. Fadel's rude attitude toward Style at first made him not want to take Kant's request. But Kant offers Style something he can't refuse, his old car. So, Style begins his chasing. Soon Fadel's harsh & rejecting behavior toward Style really ignites Style feeling to take Fadel down regarding whether Kant offers still exist or not.

So, how will their relationship be when Fadel & Bison finally know the truth about Kant as the police informant…?

That's pretty much the story without giving any more spoilers. Now what I like and don't.

What I like:
4 names: Joong-Dunk & First-Khaotung. Haha… They're amazing here. Especially Dunk & Khaotung.

What I don’t like:
- A little bit too much for my taste. Some scenes are just too exaggerated…
- All the stupid little things that happen in drama. GmmTV really needs to learn more realistic crime dramas, than only rely on the chemistry of the couples. I mean like when Bison & Fadel do their crime, they never wear gloves. Haha… I know this seems insignificant, but still…

Overall, finally GmmTV really dared to take up a notch of their usual casual drama into a more serious one. Really hope they can bring us a more realistic story…

Yay, I'm finally done with this show. Fire headline. It was a good show with lots of plot and I was very excited about it and it was worth the hype and the wait. It gets a 9.041 from me, so 9 out of 10. Okay now into the review. Spoil time!

Starting right off the bat, the first episode exceeded my high expectations. The intro was so fucking hype I love that song so much (along with me hurt me please because that's a banger too). They set up the show perfectly and it was genuinely such a good start, but it was a heavy case of impending doom. Just sitting like a waiting duck but that's okay. It was a bunch of tropes smashed into one, fake dating, hitmen, police offer x gangster, just everything, and usually, that's too much but they did that so freaking well with it. I am so obsessed with all of the dynamics and it was set up perfectly.

Still, couldn't get over the beautiful setup. The sauna scene was so freaking sexy and the dynamic between Fadel and style was HAWT AS FUCK. I think the camera work was amazing and all of the parallels were great and it really showed who our main characters were and what their goals were. Camera work, makeup, and costumes, they were all genuinely amazing and the characters felt so freaking real. Also, style was my favorite character and i loved him and his outfits so much, they were perfect for Dunks body type.

Everyone was looking for and fuck. I love it when characters actually have hobbies outside of love, it brings them to life so much more. Also peak the parallels between the eclipse because i love that show. Also the random bdsm thing with Bisonw was insane. It was so funny though. ALSO MAGIC MIKE REFERENCE HELLO. Fadel is one of my favorite characters joong has ever played, he is just being nonchalant and chill and it is so sexy. Style is also a huge instigator and a pacifist at the same time. Style getting set up from the start, he was so real and so funny. Hes like who the fuck is this guy.

Kant was the hardest character to read in this, im like what is he even thinking lmao. Fadel likes routines a lot and it gives him so much character. And style had so much unspoken rizz because their dynamic was absence makes the heart grow fonder and he became apart of fadels routine so fadel started to miss him. Also fadel was a fucking crash out, but i love him because he had a redemption but then it got smashed and then it got better. Dunks face card was so leath in this and he was a skinny legend.

Also completely irrelevant but joong looked like he gained a little weight AND OH MY GOD TEARS WERE RUNNING DOWN MY LEG EVERY TIME I SAW HIM SHIRTLESS FUCK. That sexy bitch. BARK ABRK BAKR. I am so sorry, he just looked so hot.

My photocards came which was nice. I was getting so into this i had to step back and remind myself that none of this was real and its not that serious. Whoever was on the soundtrack needs a fucking raise because they ate down every single scene with the music. "Crazy people dont need guns." I say that to freaking bison because bison was such a crash out. Like he only got away with it because hes small and cute. I had no idea the mother was bad until i looked at the iqyi comments bro. ".I guess she just collects orphaned kids that she made orphans to do her evil bidding. thats fucked." THE CHEMISTRY CAME THROUGH AND THIS, IT WAS SO MUCH BRODDIE.

My whole neighbor was on fire and i was watching this shit. "I know Captain is a bad guy but who daddy is that and why isn’t he mine? Who said that?" The backstabbing in this was hurting so bad oh god. Im like its not the deep its a show but it is that deep bro, it is.

Kant and Fadel are very similar in this weird twisted way. The whole episode was insane. The whole episode was a fever dreamed but i loved it. "So fucking excited. Some of the best costumes I have seen. OK, skinny legend!!! The crop top is eating as normal. Kant making references like his life isn’t on the line. Drugged him, kidnapped him, stole his car, you told him to jump in the water and he couldn't swim and he did it anyway, he's tired, he's hungry, you just splashed water on his face and he still looking at you like this." Kant was so fucking in love bro. ". Someone on iqyi asked the point of this random sequence with these gays in the middle of nowhere, its to show that fadel and style can make it through and one day even get married. Random way to do but it is funny as fuck and I am dying. This wedding scene is hilarious and also a good metaphor for relationships in general and forgiving people even when you cant bring yourself to do it because everyone makes mistakes. Of course i don't know the full backstory but i know that they are in love and i think that is really cute and they symbolize our main couples really well." And then the random bathtub scene lmao.

I also started making edits and i was editing them instead of watching the show. Style is so unserious but he was genuinely the best character and helped get through the show so much. "WHOEVER WAS ON SOUNDTRACK WAS IN THEIR FEELS BECAUSE WHAT THE HELL. ITS THE LESBIAN BOYFRIENDS FROM PERFECT 10 LINERS OH MY GODDDD. I feel like i am cheating on my shows right now because i see them in so many different ones. He just upright left. Made a villain with this ghosting. I DO NOT CONDOME WHATEVER THIS SHIP IS. GMMTV PUMPING SHIPS OUT OF THEIR ASS CRACK."

"Ngl i want joong and khao to do a show as a couple they look mad good together, not to be that person." OH !! Interesting idea chloe 6 days ago. I was starting to dog on the show but i still love it so much. "Friends we made along the way ass thing bro. The gang on me gang on 3 type shit, fadel is like wtf is happening." And they were still flirting and still had love instead of just worrying about furthering the plot which i loved.

"The milkway is INSANE." They spent their last days free so questionable bro, like go blow money, smoke weed and have sex dude.

"Scooby doo ah discovery." And then we are done. Great show and i would recommend it 100 percent. I hope they do more shows with these 4 in the future because it was amazing. Friends we made along the way ass ending, and i plan on rewatching this shit. Okay bye!

Real mixed bag

I adore FirstKhao, who doesn't, and they were the only ones I was familiar with before going into this show, but I've got to be honest Style and Fadel were the only ones that kept me going with this one.

I think of the four, Dunk's acting was the weakest, but Style as a character is so so SO annoyingly lovable, I didn't mind that much. His cheeky, confidence bewitched me like it did Fadel lol. He had the funniest lines, and I love that he was a mechanic specifically, such a macho job combined with his croptops and fabulousness was delightful. His dad was also great fun.
Joong blew me away, Fadel was such a complex character and he really played the hell out of it, all barely restrained emotions, scared and angry, it was beautifully done! Together their relationship really got to grow and bloom as they started to actually open up and care for each other. Also, in my heart they are a true vers couple, Style is too bossy and Fadel deserves to be worshipped.

Of First and Khao I don't really have anything bad to say acting wise, they were great as always, but their characters reeally fell flat. Bison was interesting in the beginnig, hot tempred, into kink, sweet and spicy both, but as soon as the romance started, his character kind of devolved into nothing but lovesick puppy? With Kant, he obviously was playing a character in the beginnig, being so charming and suave, I was hoping there to be some surprise, some change once the ruse ends but... there was nothing? Still as in love, still charming just much of the same. With their relationship, they threw away anything unique and different, (i guess they forgot Bison was into bdsm? like he was prepared with all that stuff, it wasn't an act?) but there wasn't really any growth besides the ruse and recovery from that.

Plot was nonsense lot of the time, but I didn't really mind. The dates were always cheesy, often cringy, but at least the sets were pretty. I'll admit I fast forwarded through most of the KantBison dates, since they really got the short end of the stick with the cheese and cringe.

I won't be rewatching this show, but I will watch StyleFadel compilations on YouTube.
