Fated Hearts Had Me Screaming, Crying, and Falling in Love — This Drama Owns My Soul ???
OKAY OMGGG 😭💥 Fated Hearts (aka Yi Xiao Sui Ge) absolutely ruined me in the best way possible. Like HELLOOO why was this drama SO GOOD?!? I went in expecting a cute lil historical romance and came out emotionally wrecked and obsessed with every single character 😭💔 The story??? PERFECTION. The whole enemies-to-allies-to-lovers thing between Fu Yi Xiao and Feng Suige had me screaming at my screen every episode. She’s this badass red-clad archer who literally shoots him in battle and then loses her memory 😭 and somehow they end up working together?? The tension, the trust issues, the slow burn bruhhh IT WAS EVERYTHINGGG 🔥 Fu Yi Xiao is seriously one of the coolest female leads I’ve ever seen. Like she’s strong, fearless, and doesn’t let anyone push her around but you can still feel her softness underneath all that warrior energy. And Feng Suige?? don’t even get me STARTED. the man is the perfect mix of cold, calculating prince and secretly soft boy who would burn the world for her 😭 the chemistry between them had me giggling, kicking my feet, and pausing every five minutes just to scream “THEY’RE SO CUTE???” 😭😭 Even the side characters ate like no one was boring, everyone had their own motives and secrets. The palace drama, the betrayals, the emotional damage 10/10 cinematic pain. And the action scenes?? straight fire. those fight sequences were smooth, elegant, and full of meaning it wasn’t just fighting, it was storytelling. The cinematography and costumes were GORGEOUS too 😍 every frame looked like a painting. and the OST??? don’t get me started, I’ve been replaying it on Spotify nonstop 😭 Final thoughts: Fated Hearts is THAT drama. The one that makes you fall in love, cry, scream, and then rewatch it just to suffer again. It’s got strong characters, beautiful visuals, and the kind of romance that stays stuck in your brain forever 😭💖⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — 1000/10 recommend. If you love intense chemistry, badass leads, and emotional chaos, THIS is for you.

A great adaptation, for they strayed from the source material and made it way better.
While being quite plot-driven, FH built up one of the most beautiful relationships I could remember from C-dramas - one based on respect, equality, total trust and understanding that they slowly earned towards each other. No miscommunication, no noble idiocy.Another remarkable aspect is the use of parallel and juxtaposition to convey the main plot points/themes; which, i might say, were fascinating to identify and connect, such as (but not limited to):
- Revenge, the most obvious one
- Patriarchy/relationship between father and son: Feng, Zhuang and Murong
- Relationship between mother and son: two Empresses and their sons (puppet emperors)
- Romantic relationships: Fu Yixiao Feng Suige vs FYX Xia Jingshi
- Royal sibling relationships: Fengs and Xias
- Between FSG and XJS: similarity in status and, to some extent, rough upbringing; contrast in how they choose to lead their life, their people, and their revenge.
- Kindred spirits or fated hearts: the main leads' relationship
- Blind royalty: following a savior blindly out of gratitude, leading to being used and discarded.
There was no moment that felt out of place, even when a trope was used, it was to serve the plot - to create a parallel, or to bring a plot point "full circle". Additionally, a lot of trivial scenes were actually very deliberate, so as to display a parallel or progress.
FH is not about palace conflicts, but rather about how people are a product of their environment, how we all have our trauma/obsession and the many different ways we act upon it.
Each character’s motivation and actions are justified to some extent by their own experiences. No matter how petty or cruel their motives are, you understand where they are coming from, and feel for it. Because, at the core, it reflects human nature, be it greed, or blind love, or jealousy etc. It might seem over the top, but at the same time, is very real. People have been proven to do more for less.
Nothing is perfect, neither is this show. However, it was as good as it could be. You can tell the team behind Fated Hearts had a vision, an identity that they intended for the show, and they followed it through. Both LQ's and CZY's portrayal really blew me away. It wasn't all perfect, but they sold the characters.
The story, despite its flaws, prompted a lot of discussions which made the entire watching experience much more fulfilling. Having watched many shows, but I have only been this involved in drama discussion twice this year, so this has been a real blast. Definitely among my top favourites of the year, and of this genre.

I LOVED IT!!!
This drama was so good, Not one boring episode ..Talking about the leads,
ML looks so gorgeous, half the time I was just staring at him.. CZY’s makeup was spot on.. like the boy is handsome but he looked the best in this drama, like the eye makeup, hair, clothes, aura matched so good esp with his character.. He was really strong, really loved the FL and it showed, no sacrificing drama, nothing. My heart dropped when he was nearly killed and buried.. I loved when he asked her to stay even after knowing he might forget her 👏🏼👏🏼
FL, omg I am so amazed by her acting, her character, everything… she was so strong and that is already a plus one in my book but she was one step ahead, I love when FLs unconditionally love the MLs.. like we see ML doing so much for FL but the energy is not matched many times but here she stood like a shield before ML, that scene where she dug out her buried lover, damn. she literally saved him and was his most valuable asset rather than a liability in every scene.. she never left him… (none of that sacrifice drama 😒)
Also, the plot was also really intriguing, though there were some loose ends, it was overall a great watch, one of the best of 2025.. I wanted to see some more of the HE, but oh well Chinese dramas and their rushed endings 🥲 and the side characters also played their character really well, the princess did a fab job in her role, her character was a bit infuriating but that goes to show how much well she played it
Also the BG music?!! And I am not just talking abt OST here, I am talking abt that music that played in every intense of emotional scene? That was the IT factor for me, it made those scenes so much intense and emotional and just WOW,
Overall, spectacular, a 10/10 drama for me

This was a massive enemy to lovers drama for me ?❤️
Firstly I saw some of hate reviews when I was watching the drama currently that time so I felt like it will be boring afterward ,but thanks to some good reviews and the love I have for chen zhe yuan keep my spirit to go on watching it was too good drama I was waiting for to watch full the drama to put a review. This was a good enemy to lovers drama ,so I hooked at first episode and continued endlessly.the story was about the first prince feng suige who rules susha and the general lady fu yixiao from jinxu they were sworn enemys and somehow they will be in same path I don't want to give spoilers .I liked the charact xia jingyan not xia jinshi, he was cruel but still at the end he loved xiyang very much and tried everything to do save her ,I stop the story here.
About the actors ,czy is my all time favourite i watched him from his our secret from cutee potato to hot potato ,he is very hot charming in this ,and his acting was top notch in this ,and about liqin my first drama i watched her was this so I don't know more about her but her acting was really good and she is pretty look a little like bai lu and liyitong ,but their age gap is crazy like 7,8 I think she is older but she looks really young ,and iam looking towards her new drama with Dylan live long and prosper too.
Side characters are all good at acting ,so many betrayel here to feng suige and fu yixiao ,for him his best friend, his father ,most trusted maids and even his sister somehow in the first ,for her some she loved first ,her brother,I have cryed like crazy and hurting my eyes from crying but it's too good and have happy ending and the little second Prince was handsome too.
Overall it's a masterpiece for me 💯❤️🔥

Fated Hearts Delivers Chaos, Closure, and Chemistry
Fated Hearts did not disappoint. The ending was satisfying — everything came full circle. That final fight scene with Feng Sui Ge and Fu Yi Xiao literally killing their enemies without hesitation was chef’s kiss. This couple is perfection.Thank you to the writers for never changing who they are and for consistently showing us their true character. All the villains got exactly what they deserved. I’ve loved this drama from the very first episode when it started off completely unhinged — two mortal enemies with no hesitation beating the crap out of each other — to a love so real that now they’re beating the crap out of their enemies together. If that isn’t true love in C-drama, I don’t know what is.
The second plot line with the princess definitely had its frustrating and annoying moments, but by the end, I was sort of rooting for her and the Emperor of Jinxiu. Kudos to the writers for somehow making me emotionally care about their outcome. As the story progressed, and especially by the final tragedy, I found myself low-key wanting them to end up together.
Xia Jing Shi was a piece of shit who finally showed his true face at the end. I loved that Yi Xiao didn’t even hesitate to shoot arrows at him and his delusional self thinking he could still win her back. That was pure satisfaction.
There was real closure for so many characters and their stories. People changed, lives shifted, and those who lost their way faced the consequences. The Feng siblings’ trust and devotion to each other was surprising in the best way — finally, royal siblings who actually love and support each other instead of scheming for the throne. The parents, on the other hand, all failed their children in one way or another.
Fated Hearts surprised everyone by coming out strong and never letting up. It gave us one of the best enemies-to-lovers plots, a mature relationship where the couple communicates and trusts each other fully, and betrayals that made sense for each character — whether petty or painful.
And honestly, Li Qin and Chen Zheyuan’s chemistry is insane. It’s what made Feng Sui Ge and Fu Yi Xiao so believable and magnetic. I really hope they pair up again in another series because their connection was that good.
This drama is a must-watch if you’re looking for action, sizzling chemistry, and fights (and deaths) that are deeply satisfying. It’s a fun, wild, and emotional ride from start to finish — one that reminds you why you fell in love with C-dramas in the first place.

I loved it. Favorite cdrama of the year. Finally a couple that is equal in everything (in mental and physical skills), a couple that avenges and kills.
As I am picky, I can't rate it a 10 bc of some 👎🏼, mostly technicals:
👎🏼 direction: the obsession of this director with the blinding lights and odd camera angles! Light in general, bc even at morning scenes the light looked fake.
👎🏼 filter: on the 4 main characters only it seems. Very jarring to see a scene where one was looking like a marble, without skin texture while the other (like an older actor) had wrinkles and underbags. And it was specially distracting when, for example, LQ was crying prettily but her tears disappear in her blurry face, which leads to...
👎🏼 make-up: I know they all have cakey make-up but it was terrible to see, for example, the younger brother crying and his numerous tears leaving a trace in his white face.
👎🏼 the permanent wind in their hair. I supposed for "aesthetics" but it was distracting.
👎🏼 I did not use the 1.5 speed any moment (as the Director wanted! 😅) but around ep33-34 the excitement diminished a little bit with the Storm Alliance and freaking XJS.
👎🏼 the Emperor of Jiunxi was a psycho and I loved him 😑
👎🏼 super personal one... iQiYI. For the 1st time I subscribed to this channel to binge it. But turns out, for the last 4ep I need to be Premium, not VIP. Meaning, pay more $$??? I had to watch the last 4ep illegally and it LQ 🙄🙄🙄

This drama is one of the few adaptations that managed to surpass the original novel.
Well done! The original novel is actually so-so.I’m not a fan of Chen Zheyuan and Li Qin but this show made me love them very much! Amazing actors. I hope they will have more dramas together with plenty of action!
Acting and casting is SO ON POINT. I especially loved the fight scenes of Fu Yixiao at the beginning, Fu Yixiao and Xiao Weiran, then Feng Suige’s fight with Xia Jingshi. Feng Suige’s jump with that sword was top-notch amazing haha!
Except for the occasional excessive twirling (LOLS) and repetitive OST, I loved every bit of it. But the ending is too short. Would love to see more of it.
Glad Ning Fei and Ling Xueying is still the endgame like in the novel.
I also would like to know whatever happened to Ling Feng and An Gu! Both of them on drugs when they left LOLOL
I wished they’ve shown Feng Chengyang going into seclusion, Feng Xiyang managing the court, and some scenes where the three siblings were reunited.
How I wish Xia Jingyan’s child survived.. ? I cried when he started begging for Feng Xiyang to be spared. He really liked Xiyang, can see it all the time. Good actor!
NOW I WANT MORE DRAMA FROM CHEN ZHE YUAN AND LI QIN!

Definitely good for who likes enemy to lover trope
I started watching Fated Hearts kind of on a whim, and wow, it’s way more intense than I expected. If you’re into historical Chinese dramas with a mix of action, enemies-to-lovers tension, and palace intrigue, this one’s definitely worth checking out — but fair warning, it’s not a light or fluffy ride, especially in the beginning. What I Liked:
• Strong female lead: Fu Yixiao (played by Li Qin) is such a badass. She’s smart, skilled in archery, and doesn’t just exist for the male lead. It’s refreshing to see a woman in historical dramas hold her own in battle and politics.
• Enemies to lovers, but make it complicated: The dynamic between her and the male lead, Feng Suige (Chen Zheyuan), is full of tension. They literally start off trying to kill each other, so when things slowly shift, it feels earned. There’s real emotional weight behind their interactions.
• Visually stunning: The production quality is impressive — gorgeous costumes, solid fight scenes, and the cinematography is moody in the best way. You can tell they didn’t cheap out on this one.
• Keeps you hooked: The story moves fast, with lots of twists, betrayals, and hidden motives. I found myself watching “just one more episode” more than once.

Historical drama that gets everything right.
Fated Hearts totally exceeded my expectations! The story moves fast with zero dull moments, every episode keeps me hooked.
I love how it mixes politics, romance and action without feeling messy or confusing. It’s beautifully shot, the OST fits perfectly and the production quality is excellent. Even the supporting characters are written with so much depth, each one has their own story, motivation and emotional which makes Fated Hearts feel so good to watch.
Li Qin and Chen Zheyuan both delivered outstanding performances that brought the story to life. Li Qin is the female general I want to see, confident, composed and full of quiet strength, yet she still shows moments of vulnerability that make her character feel real. Chen Zheyuan, this man completely exudes the aura of a prince. From the way he walks to how he speaks and even how he stares, every gesture reflects authority, restraint, and hidden emotion. He doesn’t need many words to express his thoughts, his gaze alone can tell a whole story. The chemistry between him and Li Qin is magnetic, their tension and trust grow naturally, making their romance one of the most believable and compelling parts of the show.
And the fight scenes? Absolutely top-tier! They didn’t rely only on sword fights, there’s a great mix of hand-to-hand combat, archery and clever tactical battles that keep things fresh and exciting. Every action scene feels purposeful, not just flashy. Combined with the excellent supporting cast, well-paced story and beautiful cinematography, Fated Hearts truly stands out as one of the best and most captivating historical dramas of the year.

A Standout Enemies-to-Lovers Drama with a Fierce Female Lead
This is hands down the best enemies-to-lovers drama I’ve watched this year.Li Qin absolutely kills it as Fu Yi Xiao, a legendary archer and fierce female fighter. She brings power, grace, and grit to every scene, and her martial arts are sharp, clean, and just downright badass from episode 1 all the way through.
The drama ws high quality and fast-paced, with the two leads constantly challenging each other — no soft moments here. What makes it stand out to me i believe is that while the romance is definitely there, it’s not front and center. Instead, it simmers in the background, making the tension between Fu Yi Xiao and Feng Sui Ge even more compelling. Their chemistry wass stronger than I expected because of the agae gap between the Leads, however they’re easily the best part of the show.
That said, a few side plots and secondary characters (looking at you, overly naive princess) drag things down a bit and don’t match the sharpness of the main storyline. Plus, while the show leans on a few familiar tropes, it still feels fresh thanks to the leads and the way romance takes a back seat.
Overall, this drama is a fun, action-packed ride with a standout female lead and a slow-burn dynamic that really works. Definitely worth watching.

This serie is among the top 5 best Chinese dramas of 2025 in my opinion
It is a magnificent historical drama, created with deep emotion, where the director and screenwriter explore the human soul — power, loyalty, and the madness born of love.Every character acts out of love: for a mother, a son, a country, or an ideal… yet that very love often becomes their downfall, and at times — a true obsession.
Feng Sui Ge — straightforward, sincere, free of political ambition but driven by a deep thirst for revenge — embodies a rare inner nobility.
Beside him, Yi Xiao shines with strength, courage, and devotion. Their bond is based on equality, trust, and mutual support — and that is precisely what makes it so beautiful.
The emperors of the two kingdoms and the second prince are mirror reflections of this integrity: prisoners of their political ambitions and thirst for recognition, they evoke reflection rather than sympathy.
The production is strikingly pictorial: the colors, the symbols, the visual parallels between scenes...
And Chen Zheyuan — what an actor! He transitions naturally from a charming military prince to a ruthless general, demonstrating remarkable charisma and inner strength. The scenes between father and son are among the most powerful and moving. He represents the ideal image of a Chinese drama prince.
Fu Yi Xiao is brave, convincing, and deeply human — a rare type of female general, realistic and believable (still an uncommon portrayal in the Chinese industry).
The supporting roles are no less impressive — which is also a rarity! The princess (Feng Xi Yang ) , initially criticized by viewers, gradually unfolds, gaining depth and evoking genuine empathy. Her duet with the emperor is simply mesmerizing. The emperor Xia Jing Yan) himself delivers one of the best performances in the series, a character who reveals new dimensions with each episode.
Only the second prince( Xia Jing Shi) left a sense of incompleteness: his story remains vague, and his acting lacks emotional depth.
The music, built on vivid leitmotifs, perfectly accompanies the scenes of cruelty and tension — appearing and disappearing sharply, just like the directing style itself.
The battles are theatrical, rhythmic, and choreographed to instrumental compositions.
From the very first minutes, one feels that the series speaks of an inner struggle — the struggle within the human heart, where kindness can at any moment turn into cruelty.
The sumptuous costumes and the symbolism in the staging of emotional scenes also deserve special mention.

I guarantee you've never seen anything like this
I actually went into this not expecting much of it. I've only been watching CDramas for about a year and one of the first ones I watched was Handsome Siblings. I really enjoyed Chen Zheyuan's screen presence and thought he was delightful as Xiaoyu'er and started adding a bunch of his other projects to my watchlist (so far the only other one I've seen is The Princess and the Werewolf which I also adored, but I will be binging his other work asap). When I first saw the trailer for Fated Hearts, I remember saying to myself, "I don't think I'll be into the romance, but I'm intrigued by the plot and I really want to see what Chen Zheyuan does with this role." And boy am I glad I decided to give this a shot when I'd been feeling hesitant! So let's talk about this show on the technical level for a second. Every single detail is meticulously planned to a degree I've never experienced. The visuals are breathtaking. The production value is insanely high and I swear I've never seen it at this level for a television show. This is some of the best acting I've ever seen (need to especially shout out Chen Zheyuan, Li Qin, and Zuo Ye — the three of them need to be showered in awards for their performances), and I've consumed thousands upon thousands of hours of film and tv in my 30 years. The pacing is immaculate, the characterization is consistent, there's not a single plot point that is dropped and abandoned. The dialogue is so intentional and lines are never wasted. The way so many characters parallel each other (especially Feng Suige and Fu Yixiao), the way Feng Suige and the main antagonist are such perfect foils to each other, the way every major character has some grudge that they want to avenge and we get to see every plan come to fruition and it is so goddamn satisfying every time — even if it's a character we're rooting against (I'm thinking specifically about the Empress Dowager when she does The Thing™️ in 1.27). This show understands payoff on a bone deep level, it understands how to genuinely truly earn relationship progression — I have NEVER witnessed a show consistently hit the bullseye when it came to payoff on everything it set up every single time without fail.
The show also has biting commentary that left me shocked that the censors allowed this to be released. Calling abusers what they are and killing them off one by one — including parents, when filial piety is so important in Asian countries? Exquisite. One of the plots that it seems many people hated (from a quick look at the comments anyway) was Feng Xiyang's obsession with Xia Jingshi and while I agree that there were times when Xiyang was aggravating, to me that entire storyline could not be a more blatant deconstruction of the whole "dark romance" trope. Literally go watch any dark romance film/show and tell me how Xiyang's behavior differs from that protagonist. But because Fated Hearts is interrogating that genre, Xia Jingshi remains unmoved by her sacrifices and loyalty to him. The entire point of Xiyang desperately and repeatedly trying to win Xia Jingshi's affections through her love for him is to interrogate these misogynistic ideas that have been pushed down our throats about women enduring mistreatment in the hopes that the man will one day change. And the show point blank tells us that he won't! It's a primal scream pleading women to walk away from relationships where they aren't valued. There's also one character who's a sex worker who works with one of the villains and remains loyal to him when knowing he's up to something nefarious and he tries to have her killed but she gets to survive and start over!!!!! What other show has done that???? And the interrogations of misogyny don't stop there — the Susha Emperor believes women are meant to serve and be submissive, he had even been in love with a woman who commanded troops and he never once viewed her as his equal; the Jinxiu Emperor is a hedonist who will have his guards kill anyone over the slightest inconvenience (and while it can't be explicitly said bc censorship, he's undoubtedly a rapist) and the comeuppance these two characters face is just so *chefs kiss*. There's just so much to be said about the brilliant examination of misogyny but I fear anything else I say will veer into massive spoilers so I'll leave it there.
And let's get into the enemies to lovers of it all! I'm a known hater of this trope and I can't count the number of times I've had people start arguments with me online bc I pointed out that a dark romance pairing is abusive and they were determined to defend it. That was my main hesitance going into this show. When I watched episode 2 and Feng Suige had his men torture Fu Yixiao and he punched her and kicked her across the room I was thinking, "Yeah, about what I feared. Still going to watch bc Chen Zheyuan is fantastic in this, but how the hell are they supposed to come back from this?" But the writers DO come back from this because of a few things: 1) this torture scene is actually genuinely very important for character establishment for both Feng Suige and Fu Yixiao — Fu Yixiao is an enemy combatant who nearly killed him and he wants vengeance for himself and the troops that Jinxiu killed so he demonstrates how ruthless and brutal and lethal he is and honestly his safest course of action WOULD be to kill her, we see that while Fu Yixiao doesn't match Feng Suige in brute strength that she does a very good job of holding her own against him and that she will fight until her last breath and will use any means she can to get the advantage; 2) in the very next episode we see a completely different side of Feng Suige — a caring and protective older brother, a dutiful prince (even if he hates having to play that part), a brilliant strategist when it comes to court politics, a kind man who truly values the people who work for him; 3) once Feng Suige realizes Fu Yixiao does indeed have amnesia and decides to offer her the chance to work together to flush out the Susha spy, he behaves completely differently now that he no longer views her as an enemy combatant and, as she is staying in his residence and bc of who Feng Suige is at his core, he now fiercely protects her leading to the scene that turned it all around for me — episode 5 when Fu Yixiao is tricked by former allies from Jinxiu and Feng Suige comes to her rescue before risking his life and nearly dying to save someone close to her. Like…. what do you mean Fu Yixiao nearly killed him a couple months ago and now he's almost dying to save someone she cares about???? And the show just made me grow increasingly deranged about them as the story progressed, as they each become the person that the other trusts the most. This is the best that enemies to lovers has ever been done and it will probably never be done this well again.
Is the show "perfect"? No. Was I utterly enthralled for every single second of it's runtime? No. Did it on rare occasions veer a little too much into melodrama for my tastes? Yes. There were definitely times when I started to falter and get worried, but then I'd get to the next episode or even two episodes later and I'd be like "Ah, I just needed to be patient and trust the writers." While there are definitely some small (INCREDIBLY SMALL) flaws, this is truly a masterclass in every possible way a visual story can be and no other show I've watched even comes close to this.
Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to start a rewatch 😊
