I'll start with the PLOT: who gets married without even having met her once or at least having seen a photograph of her? They want a divorce, yes, no... A passage that I particularly remember was her clever idea to sign the contract with the imprint. There I thought they had a good idea.
CAST: no goosebumps, the faces of the protagonists are always the same, not very expressive, no chemistry, cold kisses, then his attitude of taking her rudely against her will I didn't like much his character.
OST: nothing special. Usually when I like it I look for who the singer is and add it to my playlist but it wasn't the case.

Watch on Viki with Comments on

The storyline of this show is awful.

The actors and actresses performed well. The grandfather was my favorite character. They all did the best they could with the storyline they were given.

Lots of lying and very triggering behavior from FL. Intense passion from the ML.

Why did I keep watching this? Watch the series on Viki with comments on. I am sure I laughed the entire series. This is a melodrama, with commentary on, it became a romcom for me. All of the troupes one could expect from a cdrama. I laughed the entire series.

If you plan to watch, turn off all logic, turn on commentary, and enjoy.

A Raw, Honest Look at Marriage, Pain, and Rediscovery.

"Love on the Edge of Divorce" grabbed my attention right away with its modern arranged-marriage premise-it's messy, intriguing, and full of steam. Sheng Mian and Fu Yancheng have been in a three-year loveless union they agreed to end, but fate keeps pulling them back together. The accidental one-night stand and the hidden-identity twist added delicious drama and miscommunication-yet underneath all that, the chemistry between the leads actually felt quite real.

What I found surprisingly appealing was how both characters wrestle with vulnerability and regret. Fu Yancheng isn't the "obviously romantic" type-he shows his feelings through persistent effort, especially once he discovers Sheng Mian is pregnant. His regret-driven pursuit is heartfelt, if a bit over-the-top at times, but it grows on you. The miscommunications sometimes felt ridiculous-like him ignoring the marriage certificate on purpose-but ironically, that's what makes it binge-worthy. It's the kind of show that's absurd enough to make you groan, but you can't stop watching.

This drama shows that sometimes love isn't perfect logic-it's messy, impulsive, and shown through imperfect efforts. Even when communication fails, genuine care has a way of pushing people to fight for each other.

If you're in the mood for a steamy, guilty-pleasure binge with a dash of emotional depth and plenty of dramatic twists, this one hits the mark.

Work of passionate people

I hate miniseries because they're usually low budget and cringe but this is AN EXCEPTION!!!

Love on the Edge of Divorce is so amazing from the gorgeous casting, luxurious filming location, wardrobe, camera work, lighting, and plot. I can see the directors pours his heart for this project. There are some cringe moment for example how the ML always jumping over the table to show his long legs but other than that I love the directing of this drama. Although the acting is not that great but the FL and ML really has potential bcs they're so good looking.

If spicy scenes could decide a drama this would have been one of the best

Ok so i'm going to get right into the pros and cons:

✅ Great OST
✅ Pretty Good Chemistry
✅ Great Visuals

❌ The female character makes no sense, she slept with her husband despite "hating" him and continues sleeping with him and falls for him but can't seem to understand that he is actually a "good" person. Following this she wants a divorce because he hates his wife and tells her he doesn't love her

❌ No character arc for anyone and all the villains are just basic 2D

❌ Mother-in-Law doesn't have a redemption arc and just naturally accepts her and vice-versa

❌ The second lead who showed up had little to no purpose

❌ Ending was rushed despite the previous 15-20 eps being unnecessarily long

I will say though that the actors obviously worked hard despite it being a non-sensical plot and you can see that they are pretty good at their job.

All in all if you're watching for a plot LEAVE. But if you want some cute chemistry and spicy scenes with a cliche little to no logic plot this might work. Watching this drama felt like eating cotton candy, it tastes sweet and you know its bad for you but its addicting and at the end of the day you don't really feel like you ate anything.

Most ridiculous nonsense ever

Total trainwreck! It appears the script has been written by high schoolers and directed by an amateur would be director. The storyline is ridiculous and complete nonsense. It supposed to be a rom com but instead it became a bad comedy in someone's nightmare. To be honest, the only reason I watched it is because Ryan Ren is one of my very favorite actors; however, unfortunately even he couldn't save this trainwreck. The FL character is a very unlikeable sociopath and compulsive liar who is ( according to the script writer geniuses) always in the right and everything is someone else's fault at all time. Let's not even talk about all the psychopathic criminals/relatives who will never get punished no matter what horrible crimes they commit. This is a perfect message to the wievers, i.e. "commit any crime you want as there will be no consequences or punishment at all" great message geniuses!!!
What a waste of time, monies and talent to throw away on this trainwreck.

GREENEST flag ML for those who aren't COLOUR BLIND

Okay, so the plot? Nothing revolutionary. But the comedy? Chef’s kiss. It’s fresh, spontaneous, and thankfully petty issues weren't dragged till the end though, of course!! the FL’s identity is revealed at a snail’s pace, but hey, it’s fiction—logic was never invited to the party anyway.

Now, let’s talk about the male lead (ML)—aka the Walking Green Flag that some people somehow called red.( Please get your eyes checked) ....
If this man doesn’t love you, he won’t even notice your existence. But if he does? Oh, honey, get ready because you just became his entire universe. He will save you, support you, respect your talent, and worship the ground you walk on—but won’t let you take the easy way out either. And the romance? My man is out here kissing in his sleep, kissing in the pool, passing candy through kisses, eating bread and deciding, “You know what? Another kiss.” Basically, he’s the perfect amount of horny you can ask for. Also, he doesn’t entertain side chicks, doesn’t let his woman get humiliated by anyone , and will quite literally is not afraid to put himself in harm’s way to save her . ( SOME PEOPLE CALLED HIM TOXIC - GIRL, YOUR BAR IS SO LOW. YOU IDEA OF GREEN FLAG IS PROBABLY A TRAFFIC SIGNAL TURNING RED )

Now the female lead (FL)? Beauty. Brains. Talent. Independent. Kind but not a doormat (okay, maybe a little, thanks to her leech of a family). She’s so competent that everyone wants to work with her, and honestly, she’s an inspiration. We love a queen who can hold her own grounds.

The side cast? Meh. They existed. Moving on.

Acting-wise, RR killed it. After Dai Gao, he’s the only actor I’ve seen who delivers passionate romance like he actually means it. When he lands those soft kisses while staring into the FL’s eyes? I was one second away from believing they were actually dating. Also, FL (Li Xing Yao) was so stunning, she doesnt look Asian at all ..her charm..oval cute face with big eyes —felt more like a mix of Afghan and Indian beauty. Plus her acting ~ an Absolute delight to watch.

The absurdities?

1. Her identity should have been revealed earlier because the post-reveal reconciliation was so rushed, I felt like I skipped 10 episodes.

2. The ML sleeping next to her, signing contracts, visiting her office, taking her to hospitals.. on the other side he is married to her for three years , throwing millions at her family business, —but doesn’t recognize both are the same person... Excuse me, sir, do you need glasses?

3. Grandpa-in-law out here hiring FL’s ex-boyfriend to save her family business? Grandpa, please cut us some slack world is not ready for your progressiveness.

In conclusion: Watch this if you can handle the straightforwardness of real man otherwise skip and watch something appropriate for your age.

stereotypical story and characters, "what the heck?" writing

I think they wanted to break the record for most forced kisses in a drama. I wish I could rate this a 1 but it was so ridiculous that i ended up wanting to finish it. I thought the actresses did a great job, they at least made me believe in the drama, the actors on the other hand... it was hard not to cringe. a lot of plot holes. the ending was even more ridiculous that I am still thinking about it.

Loved it!

I liked this story a lot! The chemistry between the actors is great as well. The spice is pretty decent too. This is a very standard web drama and if you're not used to that, you probably won't like it because the episodes are very short. The episodes are very soap opera like because they are dramatic and over the top. That being said I still really enjoyed it and it was a really fun watch!

Not a Romance but a Spoof

The show is so bad that it is actually a spoof. As soon as you start watching it as a spoof, the show doesn't seem bad. If you are a person who can shut off logic and watch sth in the moment without analyzing it, you can easily watch it. If you watch stuff with a critic's eye, you won't ne able to bear it.

The kisses and skinship is fine. Few actual good ones.

The plot is based on multiple miscommunications which can be easily solved.

It was a good watch.

It was a good watch.
Oh jeeez I cant count the amount of kissing scenes are in this :D
We all know how these short dramas are and I think the ML acting is good. I hope he lands bigger roles.
Both leads had great chemistry.
There is always that evil family member or "woman" that is jealous of their relationship so that is something to look out for.
Other than that, I feel like the ending scene didn't clear up the baby situation. Just my opinion.

Somehow this was still fun?

This show made no sense and wasn’t very logical but somehow this was still fun? I’m not all the way sure why this show kept up the excitement level for me, may be due to the acting or all the hot scenes this was littered with. It was very fast pace and kept me watching episode after episode. Must be a guilty pleasure sort of show.

I wouldn’t even say this was a very well written story because it definitely wasn’t and boy did some of the situations get annoying. They even dragged a misunderstanding until the very last episode. Everything was very cliche and nothing we haven’t seen. The villains were predictable; even who became the villains was even cliche, but despite all of that, I still enjoyed this show very much.

If you would ask me if I recommend this show, I would say yes. It’s for the people who like lots of romance, passion, fast pace mini dramas, with over top quirkiness. Those in-between pick me up shows after you just finished watching a sad drama.
