Love the cast, the 2 ML are amazing

This is not BL, but some might see a little bit of it. The story of young love that has been turned up side down, started very interesting, then slowed down slightly in the middle, with side stories that are not very captivating. The cast have been excellent from the beginning, everything feels real, even with the turning into a man ark. Keep watching, skip some bits if you have to, please stay until at least Episode 9, at the time of writing, I'm waiting for Episode 10. Yoon Sanha fits Yoonjae perfectly, the way he views the world brightly yet very thoughtful and caring. You can feel him being hurt by a split second of looking at his eyes, he portrays a confused and loving boyfriend amazingly. Yoo Junghoo is also excellent, he really does feel like a girl, how a girl would talk and behave. If you are interested in seeing how Sanha acts, he is very different from the character, go see him on Astro official channel, listen to his albums, they are exceptional.

Chaotic, Silly, Sweet and Frustrating at times

This was honestly chaotic, and I live for chaos, so of course I stuck around till the very end. It was completely entertaining, silly, sweet, and exactly what I imagined it would be, which made it all the more fun to watch. The characters are all so over the top that you never quite know what to expect from them, and that’s part of the charm.

Yunjae is trying his best to get used to the situation, and it’s clear he really loves Ji Eun, but oh my god he was frustrating. Especially with how he acted towards Minju, his attitude had me wishing for a breakup more than once. Ji Eun honestly deserves better. Yunjae sometimes comes across as dumb, but it’s obvious a lot of it stems from his toxic family (who were played off comedically, but I couldn’t stand them). I just wish he could set boundaries better.

Ji Eun, though… absolute sunshine. She’s adorable both as a girl and as a man, and all I want is for her to be happy. She’s selfless to a fault, she hides her situation from her parents, always puts others’ feelings before her own, and just radiates warmth. I wanted to reach through the screen and give her a hug.

Ji Hye was Fun, reliable, and a great older sister to Ji Eun. The love triangle with her, Jeong Ja, and Young Seok was… fine. I loved how fair and supportive Ji Hye and Jeong Ja were toward each other, but the man himself? Meh. Still, I appreciated seeing both women as strong, successful characters.

Lee Minhyuk is adorable and hilarious, pure fun to watch. Honestly, he gave off such gay-coded vibes at the start that I was just waiting for him to have that “aha” moment of self-realization. (Also, it was great to see Hyunjun again!)

Choi Yuri, my girl, was so real. The lovable best friend who could fall for Ji Eun’s male look and also be a BL fan? Iconic. She and Minhyuk were easily the best part of the show for me. I went from shipping each of them with Ji Eun to shipping them with each other, and the fact that they actually became a couple was Chef’s kiss.

And then there’s Minju… oh, Minju. She came in bringing the absolute chaos. She’s such a “green tea white moonlight” type of second female lead, it was almost embarrassing at times. Honestly one of the most ridiculous SFLs I’ve seen in a while, way too toxic for me.

At the end of the day, this drama is just a silly gender-bender romcom, but it’s fun. Messy, chaotic, ridiculous fun. And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

Not Perfect, But Perfectly Entertaining

If you’re looking for a lighthearted drama that mixes laughter, chaos, and just enough heart to keep you invested, My Girlfriend is the Man! might be exactly what you need.

The first half of the show (episodes 1–9) is absolutely hilarious. The tangled web of relationships, constant misunderstandings, and unpredictable story shifts had me laughing out loud more than once. Every episode felt fresh, and the humor never overstayed its welcome. Things do take a more serious turn from episode 10 onwards, and while I personally found the shift a bit less exciting, it did add depth to the characters and wrapped the story in a more thoughtful tone.

Performance-wise, the cast really carried this drama. I especially enjoyed Ji Hoon’s character. The actor managed to maintain a graceful, almost feminine aura throughout, but without ever crossing into cringe territory—a tricky balance that he pulled off impressively. Ji Eun, while central, didn’t leave as strong an impression for me, but together their dynamic worked. I also really liked the side story of the webtoon writer—it was short, sweet, and unexpectedly cute. Meanwhile, the love triangle among the more mature couples added another fun layer, though I genuinely didn’t expect the long-haired guy to end up with that other woman!

What stands out most is how well the drama balances comedy with sincerity. Beneath all the laughs, it quietly asks questions about love, identity, and acceptance. Can love endure when appearances change? Is it the body or the person within that matters more? Those themes gave the show a bit more weight than your average rom-com.

That being said, don’t go in expecting flawless writing or high melodrama. This is very much a “comfort drama”—something you can tune into after a long day to unwind, laugh, and just enjoy the ride. For me, it did exactly that.

Overall: A fun, quirky, and heartfelt watch that may lose some steam near the end, but makes up for it with strong performances and a refreshing premise. If you enjoy rom-coms with a unique twist, give this one a try.

This is one of those dramas, where the storyline can be taken as light, or as meaningful, whichever way you want to see it.

On the surface, it's a comical, sometimes mildly angsty, young romance, with a decent mix of characters ~ including a good % of quirky ones, which I like.

If wanted, it can be viewed more deeply... a gender stuck in the wrong body. That's something, which is experienced irl, possibly by more than are able to admit it.

It wasn't perfect, and there were some cringe moments, but personally I was hooked by it! I enjoyed every episode and thought the acting fit the concept, and young fresh vibe.

The female characters were an interesting mix, and Kang Min-ju was as annoying as she was doubtless intended to be! Well played by Chuu.

Yoon San-ha was very believable as the intelligent, slightly nerdy, supportive and sensible boyfriend, Yun-jae. Arin was perfect for the role of girlfriend Ji-eun; and Yoo Jung-hoo was so lovely as 'The Man!' of the title, Ji-hun.

No overacting or hamming it up, which I was grateful for. Disliked Yun-jae's mother and sister ~ 2 annoying characters in one family... poor son/brother!

A favourite was Ji-eun/hun's grandpa, fabulously played by Yoon Joo-sang - criminal that he doesn't seem to appear in any cast listings.

Several other storylines run alongside the main one, which meant this drama rarely got boring, and quite a bit was packed into 12 episodes.

I actually rather loved it ~ and Yoo Jung-hoo/Ji-hun.

Well worth a look.

Very entertaining, albeit flawed

Some of the reviews here are very critical, and some are a little too biased.
In my honest opinion, this was a fun story that achieved its goal of being entertaining. While there are many flaws, such as the direction in which certain characters developed, and there being quite a few slightly unnecessary scenes. The biggest flaw I perceived was how the story's conclusion felt rushed, leaving quite a few loose ends. But in the end, the drama was able to tell a sweet message, while still remaining somewhat humorous.

I find it cute and brave!

This story, how I call it, was brave. It was not totally BL but it somehow gave us that feel. And it was a good thing that at some point it was starting to blend in a mainstream kdrama. It was far from getting the spotlight but atleast it was brave enough to explore. I don't know how it eas perceived in Korra but somehow I hope they liked it as well.

It has potential to be a good drama, but somehow it really fall short for me. The actors was cute and lovely to watch. The reason I was able to finish it is my curiousity on how they will be able to play with the story. It was far from reality and it really make us wonder on if ever it happened what we will do? Are we brave enough and understanding like Yoon Jae?

This story doesn't make me cry on its crying scene, in totality i just find it cute and refreshing!

Strong Start, Lost The Way Midway

The first half was quite good. I laughed a lot in the first 4 episodes. It got boring in the second half. I didn't really care for the second female lead's presence. I would have liked more of the friend and sister's stories but they barely got development or screentime later.

The show was stolen by Ji Hoon (male version). Whenever Ji Eun appeared, it was just very normal. They gave all the personality to Ji Hoon. Commendable job by the actor, Yoo Jung Hoo. I could see him as a woman. The FL has less of an impact when she is a woman than most of the cast which makes me feel bad for Arin. They didn't build much of a chemistry between the leads. I also think she could have toned down the girlyness a bit more later to show her getting used to behaving more manly like the part when she drives away the stalker. That was her best scene.

The male lead's character was also good as a supportive and understanding boyfriend.

The show lost it's footing when they tried to force in the second female lead. It got more annoying to watch and I started speeding up the show a lot. The ending was okay. Nothing really special which is unfortunate as it had a strong start.

Don't over think the series, just enjoy it

This series has so many different stages to it, with lots of different emotions throughout. It's a comedy to a drama to real sadness all blended together.
That being said, I have to give so much credit to Jung Hoo. He was so fantastic being Ji Hun, showing us what a female would look like in a man's body. He had every mannerism down to perfection as a girl (Ji Eun). Just a great job!!
The rest of the cast had its ups & downs. I don't think I've seen a more annoying character is quite some time as Min Ju. Chuu was really good at making herself so irritating in every single scene she was in. It just became so bothersome to watch her character drag Jun Jae around by the nose, it gave me a headache. I think it might have been a bit better to have Jun Jae be a bit more in charge of his life. So many moments I was waiting for him to speak up to his parents, sister, Min Ju, even Ji Hun. You just wanted to to yell at the tv "say something, speak up" ... but it never happened.
The one character that always put laughter in the scene was Min Hyeok. Hyun Jun fit in at just the right moment when you needed a smile. He definitely balanced out the story to keep the comedy strong.
Toward the end of the series, you kind of start to wonder how on earth is this going to work out to a happy ending. They walked a fine line of being a male/female relationship to a BL appearance at times ... but surprisingly, they did a great job at making happy endings all around. I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did, but thumbs up to the writing. They gave a satisfying and enjoyable ending!!

Random body switches into the opposite sex? Stranger things have happened to me last week...

Seen this plot quite a few times but never has it been less "exciting".
The whole story was a bit too broad, too many side stories that didn't needed to be explored as much and didn't add anything to the main story line. The way it was portrayed seemed almost nonchalant to the fact that such a monumental situation occurred.
Characters seemed OTT specially the 2d girl (Love interest). The ML should have set some more boundaries towards her when he noticed his "friend" not backing off. It came across as if he liked having his ego stroked by two women fighting over him, which is not something you let happen when you are in love.

All in all it was average fleeting entertainment, nothing memorable.

Interesting

This was really good tbh even tho I didn't really like Yoon Jae at certain times bc he was very annoying and failed backing up his gf every single time. Even after all that, he loved her, even as a man, he's just straight. He can't just turn bi overnight.. Even in the end when he was reading her novel, during the part she talked about how she wanted to seduce him as a man he thought she was rather 'cute' than hot and that's because he knew deep down that's his Ji Eun.. Don't know where people are getting that he's bi, he hasn't shown any type of attraction towards men at all. Whenever she was Ji Hoon they kept it platonic as friends.. Sadly he's just not attracted to men.

It ended well... I saw that a lot of people don't like Min Joo, but for me she wasn't THAT annoying, I feel like she really cared about Jihoon before finding out he's actually Jieun and Yoon Jae's gf. (Started praying at one point for Ji Eun to dump her man and get with her but it was very unlikely😔). Chuu did very well at portraying her.

My theory is that 'true love' is what breaks the curse and turning into a man is to test their partner's love for them. Both Ji Eun and her mom went back to being women (they ended up with the one they love) but Ji Eun's grandma stayed as a man and never returned to her true self because she never found that 'true love'.

I also have seen a lot of people discussing and debating if this is bl... IT'S NOT, and if u think it is u completely missed the point of the series. As a bl and gl expert I know this holds 0% queerness, even Yoon Jae's annoying mom was homophobic.. The whole thing was so unnecessary and Yoon Jae could've fixed it by simply saying that's the person he loves but he never did that. So if u specifically watched this thinking it's gonna end up being a bl while it was even confirmed by the first episodes that she returns to being a woman in the end, well, I feel really bad for you.. Anyways, I hope y'all had a good watch just like I did. And I'd really like to see what everyone else thinks about it and if u agree or disagree with me.

Please more series that Chuu acts in 🙏

Good ??

The funniest thing about this drama is that they didn’t try to break the curse or find a way to change him back. Yoon Jae my bisexual king 🥹

The drama was overall good, as an Astro fan i’m so proud of sanha, he did so good.

I read a tweet saying that Yoon Jae was a cheater and I was like wtf???? My boy didn’t cheat!!!! In fact every time MinJoo acted clingy with him, he was pushing her and letting her know that he had a girlfriend!!!

Also, wtf do I have to write 500 characters for a review?

different from what i initially thought

The first episode didn’t excite me at all but once jieun became a man the story picked up i loved the two male leads together and i actually found it boring when he would switch back to a woman, this show was definitely enjoyable although i wish the main character stayed a man as the chemistry between the male leads was more enjoyable to watch than that of the female lead. Could’ve probably been a bit better if it became BL.
side note - her acting wasn’t bad nor did i not like her i just preferred the chemistry of the male leads.
